I'm not giving a good rating because I had a storage room on reserve. for Oct 30th. I had to give them my credit card # to hold the unit and was told I wouldn't be charged until the day I moved in and I could move in anytime. I rented a truck from them on Oct 9th and I also hired movers to move into the unit on that day. turns out I get there with the truck, all my furniture and the movers and was told they had no storage room for me and everything was taken. I was left in a panic with no place to store my belongings and having to pay extra $ for the movers. what was the purpose of reserving the unit if they weren't going to hold it. This was location my contract stated for return. Upon arrival I was told they were not accepting 26' trucks and I would have to take it to another location. I had received no notification of a change in return location. U-Haul representative said place would be close by. I ask him to call and make sure they were open and taking trucks. He made calls and returned with a location 1 mile away. Went there and it was a used car sale lot with some U-Haul equipment. It was closed. Went back to original return location and they finally agreed to take truck. Not a good experience.Cullum H.

This was a nightmare from beginning to end. Your on-line system is a joke; it does not work, can NOT book movers, or get answers. The way you put your customers into the never ending cycle of "hold" unacceptable. I must have spent 12 hours on the phone over the past month. I have damaged goods from the movers in Michigan (hired thru u-haul). Your processes anger your customers and show us you have no concern about our belongings. UHaul puts un-needed stress on your employees. I will NEVER be back.tammy A.

Our experience overall with uhaul was horrible. Dropping off the uhaul vehicle both times we rented was a nightmare. After loading and unloading a U-Haul all day, the last thing you want to be told is that you cannot drop off your vehicle at the location you are supposed to drop it off at. Then after going to two other locations, we get to an actual U-Haul business and they also tell us that they are sorry but we can't leave the vehicle there. They said that they would find a place for us to drop it off after telling us that all other locations are full besides the one that we called that was closed. We were tired, driving around in a massive 26' moving van and uhaul couldn't even take our vehicle?! If uhaul in Florida is having such a hard time with too many vehicles that paying customers cannot drop them off anywhere then maybe uhaul should hire drivers to send some vans back up north. It was ridiculous. Both times we rented. Our 8 month old baby was at home waiting for us with the babysitter while we should have been done earlier based on the original location that UHAUL told us to drop off. Then we were charged $4 for extra miles because we had no choice but to drive further! Whose fault would that be, UHAUL?!James D.

I had six UBoxes that I had to pick up at Ft. Pierce. They came from MA, delivered to Palm Bay and then to Ft. Pierce. Several of the boxes got my items wet, soaking wet pads. I had cockroaches and ants inside. It was so disgusting! Would never recommend . The orange covers are not available for loading your stuff. Where I lived there were no cockroaches. This was an awful experience from start to finish. Most of the customer service people I spoke to throughout the process had no clue what was going on. When I originally booked the order I was told that the U-box could be delivered to my end destination of Jensen Beach, FL. Once it arrived in Florida I was told that Jensen Beach is outside of the delivery area and I would have to come pick it up. I had them transfer the box to the Fort Peirce location at: 3626 S US Hwy 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34982. When I arrived for my reservation they did not have my box ready and didn't even know where it was when I showed up. It took them 45 minutes to "find" it and dig it out. The people working at the location were terrible and couldn't care less about what they were doing. The manager was on a personal facetime call while pretending to assist customers. Once they finally found the box it was then improperly loaded onto the trailer and the door was bolted shut which we didn't find out either until we arrived at our final destination. We had to pry the box open and then because it was improperly placed on the trailer the door didn't even open half way. Awful customer service and terrible all around experience. The drop-off location selected (Inlet Bait and Tackle) refused to accept the Uhaul as they claim they had no space. They directed me to another Uhaul company who also refused and directed me to another and so on. In total I visited 5 Uhaul locations before the Uhaul was returned. This impacted the timeline with which I was also to return the Uhaul as the drop off time was 9 AM and the Uhaul was returned after 10 AM. The representative at the location who accepted the Uhaul was extremely nice and friendly and assisted me with no issues. This location was 6+ miles well from the drop off location selected and at least 15 miles from my home. While the agent who returned the Uhaul was great, the entire process was a headache.Kanhai V.

Worst experience ever. They gave away my trailer. I went to Mikes Garage in Vero. They were rude. Didn't care if I got a trailer or truck. Sent my son to West Palm beach location. They gave away another car trailer. I had to borrow a friend's trailer. My son had to follow me to the west coast so he could return my friends trailer. The only good part was my truck pick up I Fort Pierce. The man that helped me was great. Mikes Garage in Vero Beach should loose their UHAUL dealer rights. They are the worst people I've ever encountered. The west Palm beach military store had no idea what they were doing. If I can I will rent another company moving truck. I have to move all my belongings soon. Don't want to use Uhaul ever again. Sad to say. Hopefully something is done. Not just brush off my response.Gregg R.

The local facility had to units available, and found one that was bigger than what was reserved. After setting it up for me, the unit was still rented out to someone else and there was a lock on the door. Your manager Daphne Heywood is absolutely the most professional and efficient manager with amazing customer service skills I have ever met! After Uhaul online reservations I made for my move from GA to FL literally made every mistake possible with all my reservations and I was up for 28 hours with my 2 sons (1 sick) and service dogs, Daphne was able to arrange storage and movers when no one else at Uhaul could. The guys working there were very helpful, and did their job the best that you could ask for. My only issue is that the tail lights on my truck are not working now. The trailer lights worked, but I have no working brake or blinker lights. Their job is to hook up the trailer, and they did that like they now how, and I don't want to blame my lights on them, it's an older truck, but now I have to go get this fixed. The only thing they did out of the ordinary was screw what he thought to be a ground wire to the chassis of my truck, which got the trailer lights working, but could have possibly lead to a short or something...don't know yet. Overall, they were good kids, and helped me to the best of their ability. They aren't mechanics after all.John D.

Pods were not ready movers waited over 2 hours then they were put on trailer backwards making them unuseable which of course we didn't know till we got home. Movers had to load truck instead the unload truck into pod at storage place in turn charging me double for double the work. Manager couldn't care less when told about situation. Fast forward a month later when I returned to retrieve my 3 pods they can not be located, nor are they paying 8 pop i8even in the system countless visits to site, tons of hours spent on phone it's been 10 days Still cant find themFrancine D.
Called today to follow up on the status of my U-Box, just to find out the order was cancelled without my knowledge and according to the support agent no reason listed why it was cancelled. ( 2nd time this happens ). So now we have to place a new order to get our stuff shipped and pay extra if we want it to arrive any time soon ( box was supposed to be delivered a week ago ). We reserved the U-Haul over a week in advance for 6AM pick up at the location in Stuart. The app informed us that someone would call us the day before to ensure everything was going to available. No phone call. The day before pick up, the app informed us that the pick-up location had moved to the Port St. Lucie location for the same pick-up time at 6AM. We woke up at 5AM and drove to the Port St. Lucie location and the app informed us when we arrived that we were not able to pick up our truck until 8AM since that location did not offer 24/7 service. So we sat on hold with a U-Haul rep for over 10 minutes to change our location. The rep informed us that we could pick up a larger truck at a Fort Pierce location she said was 5 miles away from our current location that offered 24/7 service, but we would have to wait til they opened at 7AM to get the dolly we reserved. The address that was listed in the app was incorrect and took us to a location 15 miles north where there was not one single U-Haul or office. We drove around for an hour trying to find this location and called customer service back, this time waiting over 20 minutes on hold. At this point, it was almost 8AM so we asked to just switch our reservation back to the Port St. Lucie location since we at least knew where that location was. In the process of revising our reservation AGAIN, they somehow changed the reservation under my husband's name without us knowing, so the rep would not even give us any reservation information until we could figure out the name the reservation was under, even though the app was showing the reservation under my name. Took us at least 5 minutes to figure that out. After they switched our reservation back, we found the correct Fort Pierce location on the way to the Port St. Lucie location - 10 miles south of the address that was listed in the app. We decided to just stop there and have an in-person rep help us. The rep at that location was nice and able to rent us a truck and get everything squared away but our entire move was pushed back by 3 hours and it was beyond frustrating driving around for 2 and a half hours trying to find the correct location. We had a 5 hour move to make and this inconvenienced us and everyone helping us move. Never again!Evan F.

Our U Box was shipped from Saunderstown RI on 6/25 but delivered to the wrong location (Palm Bay) rather than Ft. Pierce. The planned delivery was scheduled (Jupiter FL) for 7/13. Our movers weren't able to access the pod until it was shipped to Ft. Pierce. Finally, on Sunday 7/18 the U Box was delivered. and First Choice Movers did an excellent job.. Your 800 # is useless. Endlessly on hold and finally left a message. The callback was 2 days later. and the box was tracked down.to the wrong location. Customer service just said where it was and that it was to be transported to Ft. Pierce. No additional information followed. Thankfully, First Choice stayed on top of this and kept us informed.. Had a on line reservation for a 10x10 climate control, went to moving in and all units were full, I showed the staff my reservation number and I was informed that they couldn't do anything, blame was put on online service, i was given a out door unit (which i did not ask for) the unit was not a 10x10, the back wall was made of wood and looks like the back wall moved forward. I had to pay moving help $350 for nothing due to being misinformed about the Sunday closing time. I was told that the hours of operation was 7-7 and after a 15 hour drive found out that the location closed at 5pm. Having already booked the movers. Water leaking into storage unit caused water pooling in the middle of the unit. Our expensive king mattress and queen box spring were both totaled. Moldy, mildewed and still wet when we removed them. I explained to an employee what had happened, who asked if we had insurance, then said that the manager told me to call 1-800-go-uhaul.
