I wasn't told there was a fuel charge whe I went and did my reservation I asked the gentleman 4 time how does the fuel work because I've never done this and he said just fill it to what the gas is at when I pick it up and I did and I was charged a fuel charge of $26 and change for it and they got rid of the fee due what I claimed

My complaint is not with East Providence but rather with the Swansea, MA location. We showed up to the Swansea, MA location and found out the truck we reserved was not available. Not anyone's fault so far. Then we had to go to East Providence to get a new truck which was 5' shorter than the one in our reservation. Apparently the Swansea location asked them to cover our 15' truck with a 10' one. Totally unacceptable and it all came without any warning or communication from the Swansea branch. Will totally be avoiding uHaul in the future if I can help it.

There was one very nice employee who assisted with returning the truck but when I stopped in to return the tow dolly, they were almost rude. They didnt greet me when i walked in, i told them what i needed done and he just went outside without saying anything to me and started working on removing my car from the dolly. When they had me start to reverse my car to get it off of the dolly, they didnt even undo the rest of the chains from under my car so it could have caused serious damage had i not not stopped pressing the gas.

There was a jewelry/necklace holder that the movers put in the U-box in Englewood. We discovered that it was missing and not there when unloaded in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It came from IKEA so it was not expensive. No jewelry on it. But it was missing.

I was quoted a price by one customer service person. The price went up with the second person I spoke to. I asked if that included everything and was told yes. When I arrived at the depot I was charged an additional 40 dollars. Also my depot was changed and was further out than the first, no additional miles were added to the trip. I was a little discouraged that I ended up with three different prices.

The technician was unbelievably helpful and patient, even though they were on the go with continuous customers coming in the door he took and spent the time with me to explain the process of my install. The facility had promised to store my keys in it safe, as a document it in an email. The reason for this was that I was not present when my things were stored. Rather, movers moved my things into storage because I was out of town. The facility lost my keys, and I had to pay $100 for a locksmith to come while my movers waited to open the lock.

First of all, the UHall website is very unreliable. When I booked the UBox, the booking only partially went through. The movers were booked and paid for, but the box itself apparently wasn't. So I had to call customer service and book it over the phone. To make matters worse, the booking was incorrect on the day when my movers went to the location to pick up the UBox and bring it to me. The employee at the East Providence location was extremely stubborn and would not concede that they made a mistake, so my movers got delayed and couldn't move my belongings during the planned time. I had to call up customer service to get it all sorted out, but I lost a lot of time doing this. Fortunately, the movers were flexible and moved my belongings later in the day, but if that weren't possible, it would have completely messed up my moving plans. So the website is unreliable, and the employee at the location was not understanding or resourceful.

The trailer was old and dinged up quite a bit. When we got it home we felt a need to wash it out, and....it did need washing. When I returned the trailer the personnel were friendly; however, I got to the store at around 12:10 BUT DIDN'T GET checked out right away. I brought the trailer back a day early, but because it was after 12:00 P.M. I was charged an extra $18. It wasn't the $18, it just seemed cheap business practice of the company to do that. Especially that there were at least 5-6 other trailers in the lot just like the one that I had rented. From my perspective $18 is not the end of the world; however, for a few minutes I believe it would have made better customer service to have let it go. Again we had to wash the trailer both inside and out "BECAUSE IT NEEDED TO BE CLEANED" so i brought it back in the condition it should have been in when we rented it!! I might rent from this location again; however....it will not be my first choice!!

After returning the vehicle, I accidentally filled the gas tank. I acknowledge the mistake on my part and asked for some sort of reimbursement, one of the representatives who worked there simply said "this is a one way stream" meaning if you put money in the gas tank you will not get a reimbursement. I thought it was odd that he showed no effort whatsoever to come up with the solution, it cost me an extra $40. Lesson learned.

Walked in to pick up keys and an employee was shouting and cursing, they stopped as soon as they saw me. Booked online a few days in advanced but got a call to ask if I would be able to pick up and drop off an hour earlier, I said it would be a bit awkward for me and the guy said I didn't really have a choice as there wouldn't be another truck until later in the day.

The way the management and employees treat customer/ communicate with customers too obvious, like the doing a favor to give a service to customer….. it's not the first time I'm renting from that location many times and it's always the same way. Every single time it's feel like the employees there because they need to maintain bills for them self, like the pushing themselves to work…. It's start from the manager and going to each individual employees and that's the way I feel every single time I'm going to that U-Haul location. If I try not to be politically correct, with that employees U-Haul doesn't need enemy they have them already in that location! I really hope somebody can make the different so customer feel welcome when they coming to rent a truck from that U-Haul location.

Lets start with the positives: The locations both pick up and drop off are/were fine. The service personnel were all helpful and polite. The equipment itself was very good to excellent. THAT is where it ends BIG TIME. UHAUL's policy of allowing someone to pick a location and then randomly changing it to fit their needs at the last minute is just plain BAD BUSINESS!!! In addition, I rented a truck and a tow dolly, Uhaul ACTUALLY assigned the pick ups in TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS!!!!! Then it was MY TIME MY GAS AND MY MILEAGE for TWO vehicles to pick up the tow dolly. This is in dispute and I am not paying until I get some satisfaction!!!

I rented my ubox in April 2022 & specifically asked if it would stay in East Prov location, as it would b a short term rental. If I couldn't b guaranteed that, I would not rent a ubox. I was told it would not move. However when I called 24 hours in advance to empty my ubox this past weekend, I was told it was moved to Taunton, MA facility. Furious I was lied to! Never again will I rent a ubox! Bad business!

I originally booked for 24hrs. I got an email on the Thursday before saying they couldn't allow a 24hr truck and that I had to have it back by 5. I called about this, and the women said the latest she could do would be 6pm. She also said I could pick it up as early as 8am. So I arrived around 8:20 and the women at the counter said I had to have it back by 4pm. I said the women on the phone said I could have it till 6. She and the manager on duty said that it was not recorded and it appears she just shifted it from 9-5 to 8-4 and that I had to have it back by 4 because it was already rented for the next person. I don't blame the location as much as I blame the women I spoke with on the phone as she apparently did not change the reservation correctly.

They put in the paper the truck was full tank gas and i did review, but i took a picture cause it wasnt full. When i bring back the truck i fill the gas tank to full and they argue with my person and the charge $14.00 extra for gas and the truck has old damage and he wants to point it out to me.

I had spoken to someone twice that I could not afford to pay for the unit any longer and my information was ignored and now over one year after clearing out my unit and not paying. I am still receiving a bill for thousands of dollars and continuously harassed by one of the managers after I explained my situation. If I have a financial hardship and can't pay. How do you think that is suddenly going to change. And after I had already emptied out the unit and left my keys with your associates. They screwed up and I get blamed for it. It's bad enough that when you come into the office you can't get anyone to acknowledge your presence, nevermind help you. Your business is good but individual people are so incompetent and customers should not have to suffer for their lack of professionalism. Please do better.

So. First I go there and it takes over 15 minutes to get a checked in (there's only one guy ahead of me). That's not that big of deal, and then everything went down hill from there. I was expecting a bigger storage unit and I expressed that as I saw what I received. Didn't really try ans help me find a bigger one. And THEN the doors wouldn't open. The WHOLE time I was unloading my Uhaul full of stuff. The employee never came back to check on me and was like "idk I guess they're broken"?? Like what?? How unsafe also it took so long to take all my stuff out since I had to wedge the emergency door open! Super unsafe and I highly do NOT recommend

I want to give a huge shout out to Moragn Amador at this location. She was spectacular when assisting us with the move in and day prior to moving out. Very attentive to my needs and did not suffocate me with loads of products/services that would've costs lots of money. I had a bit of a weird experience with the issue in using the dumpsters at the property. I used the night I moved out and was charged $40 for it. At no point did someone from the company state that the dumpsters were off limits to renters. Mind you, someone came up to us at the trash and even wished us a good night. If that was the case, why weren't we addressed then? We would've immediately went elsewhere had we known prior to emptying out the unit and throwing them there, we would've went elsewhere.

There was an issue with the electronic entrance to my unit for the first 2 months of our experience, which meant I could not access the unit after 7pm, which did not adhere to the posted schedule I had signed up for. I brought it to the attention of management and they said they were working on fixing it & apologized for the inconvenience. But upon asking for some sort of bill reduction, I was told they'd have to ask the facility head. Ivory ever got back to me & I was given the runaround a few times. That's not right. Not giving me access at times outside my personal work hours really resulted in a terrible experience. Additionally, I showed up 10 minutes before the office closed one night & asked the staff member in duty if he could help me get into my unit as my card wasn't working. He said he couldn't because he was closing up. Again, awful customer service & completely inappropriate foe the staff member to value their closing over a customers needs while they were still open. While the door issue was eventually fixed, it was too little too late. We've since moved to another facility in the area & are having a much better experience. Unfortunately, I don't see myself ever using UHaul again.

The staff at the East Providence, RI location are excellent, providing excellent customer service. Dawn went above and beyond to help me when I arrived it was noted that the call and reservation center did not send my storage rental information to them so they could get my ubox out of storage so I could have it transferred to a storage unit. They also gave me wrong information about what a split level unit is; luckily once again Dawn at the site location saved me from climbing stairs to get to a unit. Very unprofessional of UHAUL Call Center! If not for Dawn who went out of her way to get my ubox out from being buried among other uboxes, I would have been out $200 for the movers I had arranged. Thank you Dawn!!! As for the UHAUL Call & Reservation Center HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! The storage facility at East Providence is clean but two things I didn't like: 1. street level storage units have very low ceilings, smell damp and there is no lights so the units are dark. 2. there is no elevator for above street level storage or split levels which is ridiculous!! don't know about lighting because I didn't look at those units.

The lights in our hallway where our storage were off. Was told to walk all the way down for them to turn on. Didn't happen and had to pack most of it in the dark. Every other hallway had lights but ours. Rang the assistance buzzer multiple times and no kne answered or came.

I was surprised by the size of the unit. The website states it can fit three bedrooms. I believe this is true if you have small furniture. I had to purchase two units to fit a two room apartment.
