Customer service is everything. I work in customer service. I believe a company's success depends largely on the STAFF it hires: If you have a wretched incompetent staff, that reflects poorly on the company. Don't just train staff to manage the physical aspect of the business instill and emphasize SOFT SKILLS! Soft skills in employees can significantly improve customer reviews and customers will feel like they received the best of what a company has to offer.

Have the gas tank filled all the way. It is stressful to try to fill the tank to the same level when it is less than full ar pickup. I always end up over filling the tank to avoid the ridiculous rates. This costs me additional money every time. Also, make sure the cargo area is clean. My last rental was coated with sticky goo on the cargo mat, and this got onto my equipment. I rent trucks 15-20 times per year and have many more issues with this location.

Purchased inside storage unit online. Entered the access code given and storage unit door alarmed when attempting access. Went back to Uhaul office and received a card to swipe for access. Storage unit door still alarmed when attempting access. Movers were not able to utilize area that would allow them to back in truck to flat area. Instead they had to pull up to garage and pull sofa and loveseat on a dolly up the stairs. These problems occurred even after watching the move in video. The staff in the office were very helpful and accommodating. Next time I would purchase unit in the store vs. online.

Make sure equipment is ready as promised during confirmation. I originally rented from the location on Broad st in Cuyahoga Falls, however, 20 minutes before my scheduled pick up, I was informed that my vehicle was not returned by the previous user. My options were to wait 3 hours or get a smaller truck from another location. I went to the Akron location to pick up the only available truck, a 15 footer instead of the original 26 footer I had reserved. This caused me to make multiple trips and increased mileage as a result

Hire friendly people with some customer service skills. Hire motivated people who can service the customer more efficiently. Hire people with some intelligence. Quit tacking on frivolous charges to your bill. Lower your per mile charges as well as your overall price as it is highway robbery. Uhaul never again.

Understaffed , not thorough, said my gas gauge was at 7/8 when I picked it up when it was at 5/8 I literally drove 38 miles put $25 in and brought it back up to 3/4 but there's no way I went thru that much gas in 38 miles. Purchased a dolly , wasn't in the truck and no one was attentive to get me one. Called customer service to make sure I wasn't charged never got to speak to a human, one guy on staff was clearly overwhelmed and dealing with another customer complaint due to negligence that put me an extra 20 min behind, when I went to return the vehicle ( which I only had 4 hours to use ) had to wait to even get checked back in because of understaffing, no manager available to help these employees what are u people doing ? I still don't know whether I was overcharged for gas or charged for a dolly they didn't have in stock in the first place which was supposed to be subbed out and never was but this whole experience left me on edge because I'm on a 4 hr time limit and can't be waiting around to hear back from customer service I got shit to move obviously…. Attendant was nice just overwhelmed and not prepared I blame lack of management and accountability. I only managed to get 1 load moved almost Made me late for picking up my son from school. Please pay your staff , train your staff and make sure there's a manager on site you're leaving these kids to the wolves then upset when they can't handle it

The reason why I had gotten a storage unit is because of my moving situation. I did not aspect to of had a storage unit with U-Haul this long. During the time with U-Haul, I was in a couple car accidents, seriously injured and caught the Covid Flu and was bed ridden for a couple of months. I did not mean to be behind on my rent but these things were negatively effecting me. The overall customer service with this location during my rental was extremely poor. Me having these issues, but still coming in and letting the manager know that I did plan on paying the balances was embarrassing. I did not want to be late on my payments. But the managers, etc. would change the rules of payment to the facility every so often; and it was too often. It seemed like depending on their mood, they'd tell me if I could make payments on the storage unit or I had to pay the balance in full. I've never experience this type of treatment anywhere else. They did not understand my financial or personal issues. They just looked at me as a person renting out a unit and forgot the fact PEOPLE THAT HAVE A NEED rents out units. Not just that, they by passed my extended time as a customer with U-Haul. I've had other instances, but they are irrelevant. The point is I could of still had a storage unit and the past due payment would of been paid down again if the staff at U-Uaul on Tallmadge Ave. did not change up with assisting their customers during difficult times.

The check engine light was on when we got it, it rattled and shakes and sounded like it was going to fall apart the entire time. It was supposed to cost $20 per day but ended up being way more, even after I factored in 100 miles for mileage it was still nearly 50 dollars more than it should have been.

Truck had 119,352 miles on it. Extremely smelly from smoking. Headliner filthy. Numerous other dents and cracks. Ran good so that's the biggest positive. If when picking up the location wasn't so busy and I was in a hurry I would if asked for a change of vehicles.

In the future, if this is the only location available to pick up my trailer at, I will use another company. It is in a very "ethic" area. When I picked it up, it was afternoon. The employee that helped me was nice, but I was the only white person there. There were about 8 other customers and several employees on the property. I felt quite uncomfortable. As a single, white woman, I was afraid to return my trailer at night, so I had the police meet me there when I dropped it off. I am not going back to that location. Not my part of town.

Some of the staff were super nice while some others were rude and disrespectful. Some of the instructions were difficult to follow as well. I reserved a 10 x 10 x 8 unit but when I arrived to pick up the lock and keys they said it was not available which is quite infuriating considering that I reserved a 10 x 10 x 8 unit. So they gave me two smaller units. But the units were clean and the close out process when moving the stuff out of the unit and ensuring the unit is clean and not damaged was simple and convenient.

When I returned the vehicle none came out to inspect it and give me a receipt, Everyone was inside and acted like I was not there. Finally a worker asked if I wanted a receipt and when I said yes, she said it would be emailed, I told her i wanted one before leaving and she finally went to the vehicle to inspect it and sign off.

The vehicle was right for the job, the people were very professional and knowledgeable, the only problem was, my pick-up time was set for 9:30am there were customers in line so by the time I had my vehicle, it was 9:53am, my drop-off time was for 5:30pm I was a little late after fueling it, I turned it in at 5:53pm after notifying that location in advance I would be a few minutes late, they charged for an extra day, I said I'll just keep the truck then, no dice...it was turned in and added to the available equipment list I assume. I feel the extra day charge should be refunded or even prorated at least for the extra 23 minutes, however, I was renting it for 8hrs and that is exactly, to the minute, how long I had it. With a refund, I say 10 out of 10, 10 being the best. Without a refund, I say 7 out of 10. I will probably use this facility again.

I reserved containers for June 28 pickup. Was informed by the loaders I hired at 4pm that the location uhaul sent them to had no containers. Another closer location (the original location) did, but by then it was too late. I then had to pay double for same day service the following day. I also was charged for a hotel because I could not arrive on the day I reserved due to being stuck in Phoenix. There was a mild confusion about the arrival time of the Ubox at Akron. The box was supposed to be available the 18th. On the 15th I received a text asking for 3 photos ofbwhere we want the box put. This was confusing since we weren't supposed to be getting it at our home, but at the warehouse. When I followed the link, it took me to the page for the original drop off at the home on New Jersey. We poked around the pages in my account, and everything still seemed fine. We had not heard anything by the 17th, and wanted to double check things were going to be available the next day, as planned, so my husband called and he was told the box was a teensie bit behind, wasn't on location, and wouldn't be available till at least the 19th. On the 18th I received a text with wording I thought meant it would be available sometime between noon the 19th and noon the 20th, but also could have meant something completely different considering how entirely confusing the wording used in every step after picking the box up from the house in New Jersey has been. When I received nothing the 20th, we compared across pages in the account on the app and the website, the texts, and the emails, and felt extremely confused by inconsistencies across the board, including signs it may have been there well before at the same time it had yet to have arrived, so I had my husband call again. This time he was told the box had been in since the 16th, and we had a reservation set so we could unload the next day as noon to 6 the 21st. But, I then received an email of a new order, and still had a few oddities and other questions to ask so he called again. We got in fine and got our stuff fine, and everything was fine, and everything seemes to go according to plan *physically* the entire process of Uhaul's end, but the *system* seems entirely wacked out and baffling on the user:customer's side, and I suspect it must be just as odd on the user:regular employee's side, but its just a hunch because of how things happened once it arrived in Akron. It makes no sense for varied parts of the moving process to *reuse* terms, among other varied issues like that, and is *highly* confusing. There is a guarantee from Uhaul about $50 per day the boxes are late...I'd like my $50-$100 but I am sure Uhaul will say I can't have ot because the box actually arrived early, but I believe it is Uhaul's fault that even the user:employees must have pushed wrong buttons for us to spend 4 days thinking it wasn't there, when it was and we could have accessed it for 3-5 days depending on how that works if a box arrives early. I don't even blame whoever the employees are who messed up with saying what was going on, because obviously, from what I can see just on the user:client's side...its confusing language! I hope someone reads these things, or when I talk about my complaint to the person who called before and I have to call back, that I am not the only person with these concerns about the system, because I am not sure I want to use Uhaul again with how confusing things were and having to wait almost another business week to access the box could have been far more problematic for the mover than it was *this* time...and it feels worse because of how ridiculously unnecessary that even was. Uhaul is almost a perfect franchise service. But I *firmly* believe your system needs some *work*.

I was charged $81 for a fuel charge due to the clerk misreading the trucks fuel gage. I was able to contact a manager and they looked at the fuel gage to ensure it was at the proper fuel level. They agreed it was filled to the proper level and are supposed to be refunding me my money. Hopefully it goes through because I never received a receipt they said would be emailed to me.

Everyone at the 800 Tallmadge Ave Akron Ohio U Haul location was amazing! I can't thank them enough for all their help. I wish I could remember everyone's name! But the evening staff- young lady and man on 7/14 that assured me my 7/16 reservation was was confirmed, got me into the 20' foot truck I needed, helped me obtain packing supplies and loaded them into my car. Pick up and return was fast and easy! Your staff made this very stressful situation less stressful and when I needed additional time than I had already reserved, the Saturday morning and afternoon staff assured me now worries and there weren't any. The truck I rented was perfect for why I needed it, and I had zero problems with it. It was clean and had plenty of fuel. The customer service in store was pretty slow, and there seemed to be problems with the software they were using. No problems with the employees themselves, just the renting process. I received keys almost 20 minutes after my scheduled start time.

We were directed to the wrong building by an employee. We tried calling uhaul for help but was put on a 20 min hold. Eventually we had to drive around the facility to look for the unit ourselves. My unit was in a small side building that didn't even have a padlock so we had to ask an employee to open the door to access it. The small side building also had a small staircase and no ramp so we had to unload without the moving cart.

The worker from the Morse location that called me asking about me returning the uhaul was VERY rude! She started yelling be yo got confused about my reservation due to me switching things around. I told her to stop talking to me like she was and she said I did and what are you going to do about it. I felt like it was a threat I would understand if I was rude to her but I wasn't I was just confused and she would clarify anything she told me call the other location. I talked to a manager he said he made a report and was going to give a gift card but I never got it

Uhaul Called at the last minute on an out of state move couldn't get the truck I reserved 4-5 weeks in advance. Offered me a truck way to big to drive 500 miles and the trailer I wanted was in a different location opposite direction out of the way. Had to settle for a trailer and leave some personal belongings behind. Worst experience ever.

Poor rating because reserved unit was not actually available and had to go to a different location for a unit! Unit suggested was not large enough!! VERY DISTRESSING!! Had to rent an additional unit - an expensive headache! Actually, an outrage! Why was I given a reservation when unit not actually available? I tell everyone I know about this hellish experience. What a way to do business. I feel cheated, and was also robbed of my time after a long drive from another state; and, I had to pay my movers and my driver a lot more money because of their additional time. This should never happen to anyone; but from what I have subsequently heard, it happens all the time at UHaul. Additionally, your estimates of truck sizes and unit sizes is hugely underestimated, thus, people don't rent large enough trucks and storage units. These problems are serious and need fixing at the management level.

I have never witnessed such extensive mismanagement; this location is terrible. The manager in place at the time I rented the storage unit was a drug user and I discovered this was known to UHaul. She charged fees that weren't applicable, she refused to respond, etc. I reported a problem with my account on numerous occasions, was due a refund equal to over three months of rent (at least) and NEVER received it despite being I promised it on several occasions. I made it clear I would pay only after the appropriate refund had been credited to my account. It never was. They closed my account when I was ill and in the hospital and informed me the contents would be sold. I will *never* patronize UHaul again nor will I ever recommend them. I will go out of my way to dissuade anyone from using them.

William Malog came to my rescue after a former manager screwed up the incoming money by not cashing the checks for 8 months. You can imagine all the ill feelings along with the headaches ,threats ,liens late charges from corprate. Wiliiam Malog is a people person and talks with you to work out a problem or issue. Uhaul is fortunate to have a person like him working with the team and customers.... Without the customers it would be No Haul...

I purchased a 9x20 vehicle storage unit but when I arrived they said that they don't have any and all that they had was open parking storage in their parking garage. They said that it happens all the time, people order a vehicle storage only to find out none are available. Also, they charged me the same price for a single parking spot in their open parking lot as the 9x20 storage unit. It should have been less expensive as it was smaller and not enclosed. Very bad experience.

The only problem is that the access door can't be opened from outside so it is difficult to get your vehicle in and out. Without going on separately and opening door then pulling in. It could be an easy fix to make it work conveniently.

Your facility was clean and well lit the only problem is when you try to call the office at the facility no one would pick up the phone. My mother had to go to the facility to pay her bill because she couldn't get anyone on the phone to take care of it over the phone they would not answer the phone.

I was charged for a unit I never had access to. After reservo the unit, I was informed that the unit was only accessible during their office hours. However, the other units are available until 10pm. I decided to cancel the transaction. I was informed it was canceled and I would not be charged. I was charged. I have called SEVERAL times to get this resolved. The employees are extremely helpful as much as they can be. However, the manager is completely negligent when it comes to communication. Several employees have left my information behind and informed me she would reach back out to me. One of the employees even messaged her while I was there, then messaged her the day after again because she did not reach out to me. She still has yet to return a call and it's been almost one month. This is the worst service I've ever received from a company that I did not receive merchandise from.

My unit was on the second floor, elevator was broke and down for 2 weeks. I had called several times to talk to someone, NO ONE called me back. Went into the Uhaul place 3x to try to get a date when it would be working, the people there had no idea. I had to pay movers 2x a deposit for moving revised had to cancel then had to pay extra rent at previous address because elevator was still not working when I had movers set up. I'm quite upset in extra costs I had to pay out because of this situation. Totally uncalled for.

I have come back to the Tallmadge Ave location to rent space from because of sub par care at other UHaul sites closer to my home. The team on Tallmadge Ave., have been excellent and I do recommend them to anyone who is in the area & asks. Suggestion. Get someone to smooth out the flooring in the beginning of the 1200 row in storage, the choppy & potholed cement section is hard to cross with a cart.

I had a storage unit from 2013 until 8/2020 and they over charged me repeatedly, never notified me my lock was on wrong which the door just opened up to my unit and I had some of the WORST customer service phone calls about my due date at which they continue to over charge me monthly. Just an overall bad experience with this location!

I have rented at this location for the last 3 years. In December 2019 Costumer service at this lococation and lack of consideration for long term costomer service became a serious problem. I happy to say with a new Mananger Christine and Danielle, Customer service is again excellent and they were able to straighten out my account. The reason of the poor rating is a total reflection of past management, and the failure to correct my account.
