This is minor but it would've been nice if the fellow that installed the trailer hitch were to be a little more communicative. For example telling me the estimated completion time and where he was going through route the wires.Greg B.
They should give the rental track with at least 1/2 gas tank. Not with 1/4 the first thing that the customer has to do is to stop in the first gas station to fill the tank.Jose L M.

I was charged 10 bucks because the gas line wasn't showing enough white line. The person checking me out was completely unreasonable about this. I had receipts for gas to prove I added more than enough gas. I'll never come back to this location and will advise anyone I know to do the same. They will do anything do overcharge you. The inside was clean but the smell was almost unbearable. An odor of cigarette and pot smoke was so pervasive and coming out of the vents and in the upholstery. My clothes smelled like it after and I only had the truck for 1.5 hours. I was only in the truck a total of 30 minutes.LISANNE W.

I tried to used by Android phone to return the van after 5 pm but it kept asking me to Add photo of the van's odometer and gas gauge even I have repeated many times. It seems the U-Haul app was unable to upload my photo. But when my son used his Iphone to return using my account on U-haul app, it went well.... so I suspect there is some compatibility issue with Android phone.WING L.
I recently purchased a 5x5 unit, which is located inside a building. The website states that I could have access to it until 10pm Mon-Sun. I tried to drop off some expensive items at 8:30pm on my way to catch a flight home for Christmas. When I arrived, the door to the building where my unit is located was locked. The office was closed. The hours posted for the holiday season dont go into effect until tomorrow. I called customer service to see if someone could unlock the building where my unit was located. I was told they would put me on hold but, instead was disconnected. I called back. The second person told me it's the company's policy that indoor units can only be accessed during office hours. That wasn't the product I purchased. The customer service representative told me it sucks but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm Active Military and only in the area for a short while. I only purchased use of this unit for the time I would be home for the holidays and not in the area. I'm now out $100 and forced to leave thousands of dollars of equipment in my vehicle at an airport parking lot instead of being able to utilize the storage unit I purchased. If the access hours are different for various storage units, that needs to be disclosed before purchase. I paid extra to have the peace of mind of using a well known company vs a smaller, local company to avoid such issues. The lack of information about what I actually purchased and poor customer service have left me very dissatisfied.John C. | Online Move In

Return was easy, once I noticed the sign with website return. Fortunately I had my smartphone with me. They might have mentioned it's now self-serve return when I picked up the trailer, rather than me waiting around in the parking lot to eventually notice a sign. I replaced the fuel used and was hit with a fuel charge. I called multiple times and was out on hold for up 25 mins. I was never able to speak with anyone who could address or resolve the issue. Extremely DISAPPOINTED considering I rent from U-Haul multiple times per year.STEVEN B.
The inside of the cab was not very clean. Spend a few minutes and clean the windshield. My expectations are akin to renting from Hertz or Avis at the airport. If the car were not clean (as your truck was not) I would be disappointed. Returning the vehicle. I waited patiently in line to conclude my transaction with U-Haul. When I finally got to the front of the line (probably 10 minutes which I still consider too long) I was awarded 20 seconds of the assist's time with a short sharp response that I'd get a bill in the mail. The staff was wonderful. The man walked me through everything and connected the trailer to my SUV and showed me how to do everything. He was very thorough, patient, and so friendly. The 5x8 i rented was perfect and i didn't have any problems with the trailer. drove from Hayward Ca to North Carolina. The trailer did just fine. Everyone was polite but I had to load the appliance dolly into the truck rather than have an employee do it. Customers should not be expected to load their rentals. Also, the online check-in is a big joke...i.e. it doesn't always register. Had to provide the same info at the counter. Very inefficient and irritating to your customers.Bruce Y.

We scheduled a pickup for 9am in Emeryville, and were told the night before that the soonest we could get s truck within 100 miles was at noon in Dublin. This completely messed up our plans and put us behind a whole day for our cross country move. UHaul was unwilling to give us any kind of compensation or discount for this major setback. Also, as soon as we left the lot we turned on the whipers and one of the whiper blades fell off. We had to replace it at our own expense.Sarah E.

I confirmed my order on the phone for a 26 ft. truck at least 3 days before the 21st. I was told by request was confirmed. On the 21st when I went to pick up the truck I was informed that online dispatch had cancelled my order. No one called to tell me that my order was cancelled. Plus there were No trucks available to fill my order. After working with one of the agents of the Dublin location she was able to rent a 20 ft. truck for me. Thanks to her for working with us. If I ever order a truck again from U Haul I will check in person to make sure my request is confirmed.RANDALL W.

The advertised rental fee is very reasonable and attractive, however, when you check out - they nickel and dime you to death with extra charges. My truck started at $19.95 per day, I used it for 8 hours, at check out - not only I did not get a credit for the short time of usage, I got charged for insurance, 2 gallon of gas, mileage charge that I do not believe used that much (but since I did not mark down of take a picture of the speedometer the starting and ending mileage before turning it in - that is my fault). Other than that - the truck drove beautifully.David L.

I had reserved a unit of my liking, come to find out they didn't had my reservation. I also rented a truck but they didn't have it when I arrived.
