The process for returning the equipment was not made clear to me. I understood how to return the truck, but the website said nothing about the dolly or furniture pads. It said to secure the items but there was no way to know how to do that.Dawn M.

The U-Haul trailer we rented ended up having a leak, but we informed the representative about it and she stated she was going to fix it. We didn't find out about it until the next morning, after it stormed all night, when we went to unload the haul into the storage unit. I reserved my truck from 9am-1pm yesterday and was told to call if I needed more time. I needed one extra hour so I called to let them know I would drop it off at 2pm and was told I was being charged an additional $45. My initial charge was $95.42 so an extra $45 for an extra hour is ridiculous. Needless to say the next time I need to rent a truck I'll look elsewhereJesse T.

It has nothing to do with the location. For the third time in two weeks (out of 3 rentals), we were unable to complete an after hours return online, which required additional phone time An announced wait of 56" prompted us to request a return call; when it came, we still had to wait for 10" for someone to pick up. We'll try installing the app as suggested to facilitate the return, but it shouldn't be necessary. As to location, with one rare exception, the service here has exceeded expectations. Dee is absolute ON IT when it comes to taking care of customers, and Kevin (I think that's his name) is just lovely as well. There are a number of locations in Fort Wayne; this is our favorite.Laurel H.

The trailer I rented was for motorcycle hauling. One of the tie downs was broken and the trailer shook from 45-55 mph once it was loaded with my bike. It also had broken side rails and the fender system was nearly rusted off of it making it unsafe to step up on to retrieve the bike.Mark B.

The manager Ian Kacala was clearly uncomfortable in the role as manager. He did not look at me, address me, even speak to me in any way. I had to ask the sales associate when would the manager be available. She replied that he was in front of me and had been for several minutes looking up my information on the computer. I introduced myself to him and he replied " I know" without looking up and continued on the computer. Finally he said , "See, here is where it says we guarantee reservations. You called to extend your reservation and we said no. So you owe us $50 to give to the family that reserved your cargo van. It's not our fault you needed an extension and we should not have to pay them you should!" I reminded Ian that I had spoken to Mason in Central Scheduling oh Friday 22 April the day before and he assured me he could work out something for the other families since my crisis made it impossible to return the van on the 21st. He said nothing and continued typing. I waited for a response. .... Nothing.... Finally I said don't well, don't you want to confirm with Central Scheduling? He said he emailed Mason and we could both stand there until he replied, no natter how long it took. I said Ok. ..... we waited.... Then I decided to simply call Central Scheduling to get confirmation and my $50 refund as promised. He listened to my conversation with the associate Leuis for a while and said, '"Well, you have taken over so I will just leave" I was shocked but remained on the line with Leuis until he handled the situation in a most polite and professional manner. Ian never returned but I asked for help before I left and Dee Love-Barngrover began yelling at me and said I was rude to Ian and she pointed at me and said I messed up 3 families reservations and I owed them $50. She also said she would never refund me the $50 unless a Marketing Manager said it was necessary. I said Ok. I also let her know that I did not appreciate her or Ian's attitude and I felt it was poor customer service.Tonya S.

Great service overall. However, I hate how I was able to reserve the equipment at a location close to my house, but a day before pick up, I was sent to a location that was much, much farther from me with no explanation given as to the change. Also, prior to extending my rental, the lady that called me to let me know that my rental was due back called with an accusatory tone. I was busy at the time and stressed out dealing with the airline to reschedule my canceled flight, extended my rental car, book a new hotel etc. She was not very pleasant or understanding at all.BENJAMIN A.

The fuel tank level specified on the contract wasn't the same as the dashboard showed. On contract, it was 15/16 but it was only 3/4 on the dashboard in reality. I took a video recording what's the level of the fuel tank before I drove it. And return it with the level shown on the dashboard instead of the contract specified. But still being charged for the fuel because they said it wasn't on the level on the contract. They don't even want to take a look at the video I took.WeiHao W.

The store had no storage units available (all units had physical locks on them), despite the computer system saying that they did. I was trying to get a storage unit to move into that day and there were a couple other options that were open on Sunday. I'm on a really tight schedule and lost a critical day due to this error. Staff in store was unable to contact their GM to resolve the situation at the time and stated that GM had limited availability the next day to get a resolution. I moved out of town approx. 100 mile trip. U Haul helped me to accomplish everything and they were so friendly and explained all the details to me. I purchased from U Haul all my moving supplies needed to pack up my home. They had so much to choose from I did not have to go anywhere else to get one single item. I rented a Truck for a one-way trip that process went much smoother than I thought it would. I was also able to get a dolly and packing cloths to cushion my furniture and glass table tops for a very small fee. Then finally I rented a storage unit in the new city I moved to; it was large enough to hold all my furniture, household items, clothes & boxes. And the 1st month was free of charge!! By now I am exhausted from the move and I originally was supposed to drop off the truck at a different location closer to my new home. However, they allowed me to return it at the U Haul storage location. U Haul made this overwhelming move to a new city smooth, calm and friendly. Mind you I just buried my Mom a few days prior. I received excellent customer service from 3 different locations. With my Mom's death my emotions were on edge not to mention all the work to move to a new city. U Haul is to be commended on how much they helped a single women and I admit I was a emotional mess the entire time.
