The scan of my Drivers License required the use of MY personal phone which is old and my data is used up to the max. My phone would only take pic of front of license and then wouldn't upload. My son was helping me with the move and so used his newer phone to help with upload of my ID photo. Still THIS IS NOT A GOOD SYSTEM> YOUR STORES MUST HAVE A SCANNER to achieve the upload of drivers license themselves, not relying on customers' phones.

There was food thrown on top of my storage unit where sauce spilled on my stuff and the food cause roaches and other bugs to be in my unit. I had to throw a lot of stuff away to the damage from poop and the excessive amount of roaches living in my things. I will never go back there.

The van had an unpleasant smell. The new process required for checking in forces you to use the app is a pain to use. I have my doubts that my personal information will be kept safe from hackers. The staff were helpful but I felt like I was bothering them.

My entire reservation was changed to lynchburg and lazybemployees refused to do in person check in and out or even call me back when I was running behind. Your mobile app sucks . It was my first and last time ever. Was outrageous cost with the confusion because I reserved to and from amherst va. Git a call same morning of reservation that there was no truck in amherst ,could I pick up in lynchburg, not once was I told that I could not stick to my original reservation and drop off in amherst so I had to go back home that night n keep again because I had no ride to follow me all way to lynchburg. I never wanted your mobile app. Tell your employees not to force your customers to download app and use that ..while they are standing in person trying to check in and out. Shy do you even have employees when you are this lazy

They changed my pick up location last minute despite having a reservation over 2 weeks ago, the operator who callled me was rude and unprofessional. I picked the truck with 123 miles on gas and dropped it off with 150 miles to go on the gage and they still charged me 2 extra gallons of gas when i dropped the truck off. They also charged me extra 12 miles and that is because they changed my location.

I had a negative experience with an employee and with the Uhaul app. I usually am not one to complain, but in this case I feel like it's worth mentioning. Bottom line: I had a reservation and was having issues with checking in on the app and the employee wasn't helpful at all. The app crashed multiple times, super buggy. I asked her if she could help me check in outside of the app, she said no, I had to check in through the app. So, I sat there in the office for around half an hour, troubleshooting on my own, until eventually I was able to get to the end of the process without the app crashing or giving me weird error codes. If there's truly not a way for the employees to manually check people in, then I would highly recommend you change that. As it was, she acted like it was out of her hands. Had a great employee interaction during my return process though! I had issues with the app again, during the section where you have to take photos of the vehicle. It would allow me to take a photo of when angle, but when I'd take a photo of another angle, the first photo would vanish. The employee who was working that day was super helpful, and said she could finish the process on her end without me doing it through the app. But, the check-in process was so frustrating, I dread the day I have to deal with it again. It almost made renting the Uhaul not worth it. From start to finish, I think it took me about 45 minutes until I was on the road. I know troubleshooting this kind of thing is tricky, and your app developers will probably need info about my device/operating system/etc. Here's that info: iPhone XR iOS version 17.5.1 U-Haul app version: 3.3.3 I also attempted checking in on Safari, not the app, and got weird error codes there. Safari version: 17.5.1

The whole purpose of using the app would make things a lot smoother and quicker. I get to the U-Haul place and things didn't start out that way. I spent 30+ minutes several weeks prior to register myself and another driver just to tell me that info isn't in the system. If you as the company want us to do all the checking in on the app and utilize it more often, then make sure ALL info is submitted over into the system so that customers don't have to waste any more time than they have to just to rent a truck.

Truck smelled like cigettes the second truck I rented a week later, did not have gas in it, and sounded like the suspension was going to fall apart, and the wheels were going to roll away. I would never rent from this location again.

I used to use the Timberlake location and after being over charged several times I switched to the park avenue location every time I go there and Ms. Tanya the assistant manager is there she is awesome and always handle everything efficiently I keep going back to that location only because of her my first experience with them was awful I left my hand cart on the truck went right back and they claimed the truck had already went out and there was no hand truck on it and I know it was there but the only reason I continue to use them is because of Ms Tanya she exemplifies the true meaning of customer service your manager there can take lessons from her so kudos to you Ms Tanya and truly thank you for all your hard work 🙏💞

The facility had texted us about a complimentary lock, so we did not purchase one before checking in. Upon arrival, there was no lock. It was very easy to obtain one the next day, but we did have to make a special run to Walmart to get one day of check in.

We ordered an appliance dolly for the two days we had the truck ($20 a day) but was only given a standard dolly ($7 a day), so we paid for something we didn't receive. The drivers side mirror wouldn't stay stable and kept falling which was a pain during the move. We lost a little money from this, but the truck was clean and worked okay for the most part

I picked the "pick up in store" option for getting my truck. The employee working MADE me go through the auto-pickup option because she didn't want to be bothered with actually working. It took a lot longer because of this. Also, I picked up the truck with 1/4 a tank of gas and returned it with the same amount, yet was still charged $47 for gas. Poor service, bad policies, and honestly I'm calling later today to have that gas money refunded. You can't cheat people like that. Thankfully I took photos of mileage and gas tank level.

Both ladies at this location were very rude and not very helpful. It was as if customer service was a bother. Not just with me I witnessed them being rude to another couple and someone on the phone. I understand some days may be busy and things can get hectic. But I don't believe this was one of them.

My experience was not good. I went into the store only to be told that I needed to leave and use the app. The app wouldn't work for me, the website wouldn't work for me, I spent 45 mins on the phone with customer service only to be told "come back when the store is open". When I did come back, I was again told to use the app by people in the store. When it still didn't work the employee used her personal phone to complete the pickup, which was helpful to me, but seems to be a sub-par business practice. When I did finally get a truck, the back had been left open causing the interior to be wet, but even if the door hadn't been open, there was a leak in the ceiling. The truck had been listed as having a full tank, but only had 7/8ths, that's fine, but if I hadn't noticed and taken a pic to record the gauge level I fear I would have been charged despite only using the truck for 10 miles.

I arrived and couldn't get the app to work so I went inside to get some help. There were two folks standing there not sure if they were employees or not. The one guys just stares at me doesn't say word crack a smile or nothing. The female asked if she could help me, she showed me the box to get my keys since I did a 24/7 rental. When I got to the truck and opened the door the strongest smell of cigarette smoke I could imagine hit me in the face. They're were literal cigarette butts in the floorboard. I wouldn't have asked for a different truck but with the customer service I got beforehand, I chose to just go with it. Luckily it was a sunny day and I could drive with the windows down. I cleaned out the cigarette butts and wiped down everything so I returned it better then I received it. Overall Great truck if it was cleaned. Terrible location, and even worse customer service. Will definitely check out another location next time.

Long story short version! Our whole experience with Uhual was HORRIBLE with the exception of the final person we spoke to in customer services days after we needed to get into storage. The Lynchburg General manager did not pause for a few minuets to even try to fix the situation and ignored our calls. We would recommend going else where if you can!

There was terrible communication from the Call center to the physical locations that cause my family and I to be out in the cold for 4 hours with no resolution to the problem because NO ONE would answer a phone to rectify a problem that was caused by the lack of communication at UHAUL! I rented a 20' truck in Hampton which was one way to Lynchburg VA with a storage unit added on so that we could unload our stuff and return the truck in the same day. When I booked the original reservation over the phone on Dec 13th I was told that the Lynchburg site would be open until 5pm after asking David (the rep) specifically about the holiday schedule. I called again on Dec 19th and spoke with Ian to change that reservation from a trailer to a 15' truck and confirmed that the storage reservation was still attached for pick up and return at 5pm and still was not told that the physical locations would close on the 24th at 1pm. I arrived to the Hampton location on December 22 to pick up the truck were I ended up changing to a 20' truck and asked again about the holiday hours and was told the the location would be open until 5pm on Sunday the 24th. We arrived to the Lynchburg Location at Timberlake only to find that the location was closed. There was no signage to indicate the store was closed nor were there holiday hours posted. I stood and waited thinking someone may have had to close the door for a break, but after no one came and other customer were standing outside for several minuets, I called customer service to find the location had closed an hour prior to my arrival at 2pm. After several hours of speaking with different departments who all just keep passing me around, I spoke to someone who claimed she was speaking by text with a manager and schdule a storage unit at a alternative Uhaul location which we had to pay 109.00 dollars for despite the fact that we were eligible for a FREE month of storage for renting the truck. We then drove the Uhaul, our personal truck, and our movers to the Park Ave location only to find that the access code that had been provided to us did not work. We attempted to call Quwana Woods, the posted contact, multiple times who's phone went straight to voicemail as if she were ignoring the calls. We then attempted to call customer service back to attempt to rectify the NEW problem only to be told there was nothing she could do to help us. Left with no other option we drove the truck still loaded with all of our belongs to a family members house an hour away. We finally found an alternative place to store our belongs in South Boston Va on Christmas day and had to leave the truck at a differnet location due to the distance we were from Lynchburg. I spoke with someone yesterday who was very helpful and was able to adjust for the additional miles and change the return location for us which we were very grateful for. However, there was nothing she could do about the 90.00 of gas we had to put in the truck because we didn't know where we were going, the time we had to pay the movers for that didn't even get to unload out stuff, and the time we spent going in circles to get the truck dropped off on time. To top the cake, after I paid 109.00 for the additional unit and requested it be refunded. I recieved a late notice from Qwana Woods for a storage I NEVER ACCESSED and was charged an additional 15.00! Yall need to do better. It would have taken just a few minuets for someone to retify the situation or at least extended the reservation and miles or just fix the access code that didn't work. And the storage charge is still on my credit card. SMH

They have someone that's been living in the back storage unit in the corner for years and the GM put her hands on my baby daddy to wake him up and tell us we had to move out they were aggressive and rude the GM cussed in our face and called us names that was the rudest person there our code to get in was deactivated then she kicked us out 2 days later I am pregnant and payed for my stay and they had no right to open our unit and tell us to leave after physical encounter with us while we were asleep I will be reporting them and attempting for a law suit due to forced eviction in one day we are required a minimum of a 3 day notice and for assault on my baby daddy and an invasion of privacy

I love the downtown U-haul location. It is close and convenient for downtowners. We turned our truck in here when we first moved to L'burg and rented a storage unit from day 1. The staff here is the best expecially from the top down.

The reason I rated it one star is because this company wouldn't work with me as far as a payment plan to where I can pay what I can to keep my things because I had lost my job that's when I got behind on my storage payments, I didn't start my new job until Oct 2 of this year so there way no way I can pay the full balance off right away and as far recommended U-Haul to a friend i would yes when it comes to making reservations for the truck when moving day comes around etc and storage it's fine when keeping your items and I'm saying no I wouldn't recommend the storage keeping tona friend on the payment part because this company is not understanding and lacks empathy when someone gets behind on payments because of a job loss etc etc things happen when people get behind on payments and not working on helping the person on a payment plan so the person can help keep their items in storage unit to where the person can pay what they can afford to pay at a time until the person is caught up on the storage payment

This storage unit was cleaned out and emptied on 8/28. Please discontinue trying to take payment. Thank you for a space to store my items. However , it was not a good experience for the few months that I had this unit. Several times tried to gain access to the unit and could not because it was blocked by moving trucks. This was frustrating to say the least. Even in the day I come to move out I had to wait for the attendant to move a truck.

The unit was on the third floor and there was no working elevator. The person working didn't offer to help with any kind of solution. He was getting visibly and verbally irritated as I asked questions about transferring to a different location. He basically told me I was SOL and he needed to help the next customer. I'll never do business at the park avenue location again.

If I am given a u it on the fourth floor, you should make it clear the elevator is broken before I load my truck and go there. This was an extreme lack of communication and a waste of my time. I now have to pay mileage on a truck that didn't even allow me to store my items.

Was not told that unit was up 2.5 flights of stairs and elevator was not working until we got to location. We are senior citizens and unable to make that work. Call center should be required to specify location upfront before reservation is made. Employee was alone and yelled at us for being frustrated. You need better customer service training.

From my first day moving in I have had several negative interactions with this particular storage facility. My initial reservation was removed from the system and the unit I secured online was given to someone else. Luckily enough there was a unit available, smaller but available. The rate increased twice in less than a year with only mild improvements. My items were damaged as a result of the renovations that are happening. There was horrible dust and so many insects in the unit, I'm guessing because the building itself is so old. If the main door was closed the side doors were not easy to open or could not be opened (even with following the procedure). Some of the staff are very rude and unfriendly. While the manager did what she could to mitigate some of these interactions I still had an overall horrible experience.
