Truck had a check engine light as soon as I started it up. Associate told me to take it or leave it and didn't even make an effort to find a solution to the issue, she was rude and seemed entirely unconcerned about the faulty and potentially dangerous state of the equipment I was promised on that date. I asked if there was another truck at another location or a larger size somewhere and she kept repeating that my only choice was to either not take the truck (potentially costing me a job) and leave, or take my chances. I will NEVER recommend UHaul or use their services again.

The staff had sprinkled rat killer into my unit from above. And several of my items were stained. And I was also told by call centers, if I had lost my key, someone on site would have bolt cutters. When asked, they said "no, they don't do that". And when I asked to do a final walk thru, while I was there, since I no longer lived in the area, the person in charge looked like she was being put out. I wanted a walk thru so I can make sure there would not be any extra charges.

The available space for parking, picking up/returning trucks can be very tight on a busy day. For perspective, if two 26' trucks were to arrive at the same time, forget about parking. If you have a storage rental, you may not be able to get to the gate. Overall, the service I received was no problem at all.

I was charged another day for bringing in the truck 13 minutes after the 24 hour expiration of the 1 day rental period. There were plenty of truck s in the lot so no one was waiting for the truck. Every other rentAl scenario I've been involved with provided at least a 1 hr grace period. The 2nd day of bulling for 13 min left a bad impression of the whole experience.

My contract was from 1-5 and I returned the truck at 8. I was charged for a whole extra day when I didn't have the truck for 24 hrs. The assistant manager Tanya who wasn't very understanding and willing to help in any way. Asked to speak to a manager and after back and forth with the assistant she became agitated and finally transferred me to the manager. The manager then agreed it was messed up but still did nothing. I will never rent from this local again but still need an adjustment. I understand I did not bring it back during my contract but definitely didn't deserve to be charged for services I didn't utilize. I booked a rental unit for this location online, signed the rental agreement paid the fees and received a confirmation with an access code and instructions to my rental unit. I drove all the way from Chattanooga to Lynchburg thinking I have a rental unit, only to come to this location and have to deal with the awful staff. I went into the store to request help, as the access code texted to me was not working. The staff at this location lacked the very basic understanding of customer service - the lady at the counter would not even offer to help or at least start by gathering some basic information from me (name, reservation number, etc) - she kept on saying U-HAUL has a nationwide system failure and they have no units available and that my reservation was an error. She spent more time and energy saying there is nothing she or anyone else can do to help me rather than just take 3 minutes to look up my information. Appalling! A young man with an airpod in his ear chilling in this chair was initially interested in helping me, but lacked even the basic understanding of how an online reservation works. Both of them started to say I need to look for another U-haul location (again neither of them even bothered look up my information). I kept on saying, please help me I drove here all the way from chattanooga, I have a unit reserved here. Unbelievably poor customer service - or should I say no customer service! Disheartened I left and was making calls in the parking lot when the facility manager approached me. She asked for my name and offered to help me. AGAIN, JUST THE FACT THAT THIS MANAGER ASKED FOR MY NAME AND RESERVATION INFORMATION - IT'S A MIRACLE! She looks up my information confirms my reservation, hands me the keys to my unit. I am sure the manager alone can run the whole place by herself and she probably does. But, that not promising, if she was not there or did not happen to see me frustrated in the parking lot, then there was no hope to resolve my issue - the two employees at the counter who were too incompetent to do basic information gathering and problem solving would have caused a much more unsatisfied customer for U-haul. Another note, your lack of employee training (which the manager offered as an excuse for her teams performance is not the customer's problem). You are charging a fee to offer a service - here is a tip - offer the service you charged me for. I picked U-HAUL because it's a national company and comes with certain amount of standardization. This location and the crew I dealt with obviously are not part of the national standards. I do not recommend this location.

The representative who waited on us was incredibly rude and abrasive. If we had not needed the truck so badly I would have left. The use of technology in the rental process was really extremely frustrating for those who are not comfortable with it. The rep said there was no other way to handle the rental process other than by us using our phones to do everything. I felt she had to be untruthful or misinformed as some people don't have smart phones. However she insisted that we MUST use the phones for the rental and assured us that is the Uhaul policy. Basically we felt we rented ourselves the truck and she did nothing except be rude to us and another gentleman waiting for a rental. Very very bad experience!

Well it appears they don't actually look at the comments left on the completion receipt. I was charged for a utility dolly that I never received and for it being "missing" even though I said I never had it in the first place. So I was charged an extra $34 for nothing because apparently someone didn't do their job.

The employee was rude and hard to get the attention of. I explained that I ordered a 10' truck and she stated that that wasn't available and I only could have a 20' truck. She would interrupt me and not give me reasons for this change. When I paid she didn't give any direction of where the truck was or what the next steps were. Very disappointed in this experience and realized Uhaul is unreliable.

This was not our rental location. We reserved/paid in advance online and the Timberlake store could not find the keys to the truck. They couldn't give us another truck and they physically sent us to other locations that also did not have trucks. It took several hours and much hassle to get what I had reserved. All they had to do was hand me keys. How is it possible that the keys were lost and nobody bothered to call me or try to find them before I arrived???

The van was not clean on the inside passenger area and the lady who rented us the van was EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful. She acted like it was a problem that she was having to speak to us and to the customer in front of us, about any details we wanted on renting the van. Timerlake Road people are WAY more professional and nice to deal with, but this location was closer for us. I will probably not rent from them again.

I placed a reservation for a 15' one way, then about 5 days before reservation I was told I would now be getting a 20' truck. I called day before pick up to make sure there were no issues with the gas shortage going on in which the person at the call center snickered at me about the gas shortage and made the comment that my truck was full of gas and ready to go. She said if there was a problem someone would have already contacted me. I arrive to pick up location to find out I was now getting a 26' truck and it only had a half tank of gas. I was told that the 20' didn't make it back due to gas shortage. The customer service representative at the pick up location was helpful and did discount some off the bill. The location and representative at the location is not my issue, my issue was the overall experience with Uhual. I made a reservation for a 15' at one location and then pick up location changed and the size of my truck changed twice. I only needed it for a 10x10 storage unit.

I wish I would've gotten her name, she was amazing and it was a last minute rental, she was great with us trying to rent a uhaul for the first time. The truck we received though had a serious gas leak that we were not told about, so we wasted a bunch of money in gas, the steering in the truck was also shot and it should not be on the road. Other than the truck not being good, the store and manager was awesome.

My issue is not the location specifically, but Uhaul in general. The location operator did not receive my entire order online. I requested a truck, an appliance dolly, and a furniture cart. Both addon items were missing on their list, even though it was paid for an on my receipt. Secondly, the gasoline system is a scam set up on purpose to get more free fuel for the company. Here is how it works. I received the truck with just less than half a tank of fuel. When I was refilling the tank, I watched the gas tank gauge closely. It climbed to the exact point I received it at. I still had a little distance to go, so I wanted to get the needle above half full. The needle stayed exactly where it was below half... and then it pegged full. It is rigged to do exactly that. I certainly felt rooked.It's already expensive to rent a moving truck without taking advantage of the customer.

I was told the vehicle had a quarter tank of gas. It did not. It had an eight of a tank. I marked it up to the lower education standards where most younger people just don't know fractions or how to add and subtract without using an electronic device.

My storage unit was on the 4th floor, that was not a problem until the elevator was broke and never got fixed...I got the unit July 2020 and I move out March 2021, the elevator has still moy been fixed, so I had to carry my belongings down 3 flight of steps, it was very tiring and left a very bitter taste in my mouth about Uhaul, I would ask when was the elevator getting fixed and would not get an answer.

We were leased a 4th floor space, but no one told us the freight elevator was broken. Showed up to check in in preparation for a big moving day where we were going to store several commercial pieces of equipment. Once informed the freight elevator was broken with no estimation of repair date, I was leased a different space with the note that the door was just "hard to open". Later when I came with a truck to unload, I was told that the door was actually off the track and could not be closed! Again, no estimate of when it would be repaired and no other adequately sized units. I was left scrambling with several employees to coordinate to find another storage facility that could get us in immediately. Unbelievable! I must emphasize that the two ladies who helped me were very accommodating and kind and did everything they could. This is a management/ownership problem and they're stuck dealing with the fallout. This is some of the worst service I've ever encountered and I will not be keeping my units here.

I think the age of the property may have some bearing on how clean and well-maintained the indoor storage areas are. The outside storage units were not air-tight and so pests including mice are able to get into them.

Had very difficult time both getting u-boxes picked up at the start of rental despite having scheduled time for boxes to be picked up weeks in advance, boxes weren't picked up until following day which would've been even later had I not made several calls. Attempting to retrieve boxes to move into new home was even more difficult with initial request made Sunday was told a 24 hr notice is required so I requested the next business day and didn't plan to pick up until approximately 28 hours later and had kept a rental truck from outside vender for towing these u-boxes specifically. When I called to let them know I would be there in about an hour I was once again told it would be an additional 24 hr notice because they did not have request noted in system and did not offer retrieve recording of conversation that would show I had in fact made the request. Instead I was told it would be yet another day and couldn't be certain it would be within 24 hrs but would rent me a truck (that I had to pay for). The truck was reserved for noon (odd to do when you can't guarantee the boxes would be out of the warehouse by then but I said okay. I realized I would be able to get to uhaul by noon so I called to let them know and was told, "that's fine, you can come whenever, the unboxed haven't been pulled out yet". So I told them I would be there at 6pm. Called again on the way and was told they would take my number and call me back at their earliest convenience, no call back, got there and about 5 staff members were sitting there talking to one another with no other customers and no one on the phone and I find out that they don't have any trucks but it wasn't the right truck for someone who didn't want to unload the box at the store which I had previously told them I did not, spent almost an hour there just to leave without my stuff (all my stuff, beds, etc) with the impression that a truck to haul the unboxes would be reserved for me to pick up at 6pm the next day. I get there at 6pm on WEDNESDAY only to find out that once again, they did not have the correct rentals for me to get the unboxes but would rent me a trailer that holds one of the two boxes which I did cause it was yet another hour in the store and another day with no bed to sleep in. This costing me another trip the next morning cause they wouldn't be there that evening for me to come get the second one. When I got there this morning (Thursday) I had called on the way thinking they would at least have it ready for quick pick up after wasting hours upon hours of my time and me having no bed to sleep on but again sat there for another hour waiting for box to be move out of warehouse, covered with protective cover and put ok trailer. Overall horrible experience and the manager was unapologetic for the significant inconveniences, almost seemed annoyed as if I made gross errors and inconvenienced him.

The door on the unit fell off when first opened told staff they said they would fix , took them several days while my stuff was unprotected. Very inconvenient.
