I am a frequent costumer at this location. I accidentally left my purse in the van. The manager took my cards out of my purse and threw my purse in the dumpster. When I was trying to get clarification on why they kept my cards abs threw my purse away he responded with â€œwell you shouldn't have left itâ€ I am so outraged on how I was treated at this uhaul by Alton Ross. I spend money at uhaul a lot due to my business and management did not once try to solve my problem. His words to me was â€œI threw your purse away, you should not have left itâ€Joyous J.

The woman at the counter (where I picked the trailer up in downtown Dayton) who waited on me was very friendly and personable. Made waiting in line a lot more acceptable (wait was due to the fact that they were just busy). Attaching the trailer to my car she was talkative and not in a 'fake' way. Where I first stopped in Centerville, the agents attitude was average at best IMHO).JOSEPH H.

Information given to me regarding the fuel level, both from the employee and the text messages were incorrect for the vehicle I had, which gave me a suspicious feeling. Improvement would be when the employee tells me how much gas is in the tank, and how I need to return it, it should be correct.bryelle B.

I picked up trash children's clothes off the lot employees were walking over around and not picking up the trash customers could see this vehicles are not being maintained properly coolant tanks missing caps radiators not filled up with coolant doors dented crack bumpers and the customers couldn't even employees having proper problems with pronouncing customer's names when given a second vehicle after inspection coolant level was still low I feel that they're not maintaining the equipment properly or the premisesOlivia R.

The truck had clearly been in an accident- made me a little nervous. The customer service in the building was phenomenal!Maggie P.
I reserved the Uhaul early because my timing was very important. My reservation was on the 22nd from 12:30 to the 23rd at 12:30. I was delayed in meetings and when I logged into the app, my appointment was nowhere to be found. I was surprised as many message as you send why I did not get a text asking if I still wanted the truck. In the end it all worked out but I had to get a new reservation and go to a new location. I did not feel like the situation was handled well.Mark G.

I got there and they had me to go get the truck, and the furniture dolly and then the truck it was not there. They could not find my rental on the grounds. The order was wrong many times that it had to be corrected for the person who did my order put wrong dates. They put the same dates to move into the storage as my pick up. I updated it. He said I would have a discount and he removed my insurance on both rentals. He told me someone would call me to let me know about the items they did not have but I never received a call so I called Customer Service and they gave me another address to go pick up my truck but that was wrong as well. Someone who put the tow on went in my things, I seen it when I got back into the truck. Once he connected the tow on the truck, he drove the truck far from me and I had to walk far to get my rental. He told me to walk only on the tires and on nothing else. He did not give me any instructions at all. The USB to charge phones was not working after I bought a few chargers then I went back to asked how to get it to work and why is the tow light on continually? I was there at 6:45 am when I spoke to the person, who that is the same person who went into my things he told me I had to wait until he check the trucks in and clean them for he is the only person there. I was running late because I had to have my rental back this was on the 18th. Also the truck was not clean when the person found my rental and asked me to give him the trash that's in the truck. The truck was dusty and I could not have my husband in there for he is on Dialysis it would had made him sick! The truck was bouncing a lot so I had to call for help with Uhaul . I'm a regular customer but this was really the worse experience with this location and rental.CHARMAINE H.

Process was quick and easy. Only suggestion I have is to fix the website so the phone number gets you to the main office on E. 3rd instead of a lube shop. The facilities have different hours and it can cause confusion during the process.Fred M.

I rented a cargo van, was given the wrong dimensions, they were incorrect so i could not transport my item I spent over $130 including gas, wasted 4 hours if time for nothing When i asked for a discount, they did not take responsibility for the mistake Enterprise was much bettertrish M.

I would recommend if the facility did not smell of rodent urine. It was the first thing I noticed wedged walking through the doors. I understand that rodents are a problem in a storage facility but the smell of their urine should be a problem that should be addressed. I have been to several hauls in the past and they were always helpful in everyway and respectful , clean and nice. The uhaul located at 1340 EThird St in Daytime n , Oh was by far the worst as far as the employees, manager was rude and unprofessional, when I rented a truck to empty out my storage unit that's when I discovered all my property was ruined and mildewed and moldy but they closed so had to take it and called the next morning to get screamed at by a manager when asked what. Should do and how to note everything before trying cl rental was due co.the facility and storage areas was filthy. There was blood in the restrooms, i let them know but because they were closing for the day it wasn't a priority. There was people living inside and walking around like they owned it and helped me more than the employees. I would never refere how do you spell referring her rooma friend at this location. The clerk needed more training and notification should have been sent to me about where the location of the unit was and how to get to it before 10:00 pm. It was never discussed that 34 hour access could be available to me for more money. There was a purchase of a prior Ihaul that I felt I was over charged and Field Manager couldn't determine why the Truck cost was the amount leaving one City to another City. He told me to contact the Manager where I had dropped the Out Of Town Rental at his location. We moved our stuff out after watching several guys walk up to the glass sliding bay door, bang the glass a couple times and the doors open, did not need a code. Then these guys with rolling baskets leaving the storage area with odds and ends. They are getting into the storage doors, using what looks like a room stick from the ceiling and poking holes in each unit to peek inside and see if there is anything worth stealing, then they get into the units and take what they want. We watched them leave. Our unit had a hole. We complained, but didn't receive a phone call back. When the new glass doors was installed they should have been tested for flaws. I am chosing to get my items out of storage because there is a serious rodent problem. Many of my personal items were damaged and/or soiled with mice urine and feces. I chose to throw out many of my items that held sentimental and monetary value and it was terrible to clean up the mess that was made in my unit. I always use the uhaul on east third street for all my storage and truck rentals. The first time I came into the store Aughn'ae helped me, and has been there every single time I've come in and needed a rental or any assistance. He is always working and has helped me every time. The old elevator doors sometimes hopped off their track, and the double door system meant that you were competing with other people who forgot to close it on a different floor. The security scanner sometimes didn't work on my building, and I had to use the other one. No way of knowing without asking. No mice presence for 2 years, until the very end (maybe the trap got old?) After paying for my storage unit around 5pm, I was told it would be unlocked by the time I returned later that night to access it. When I returned at 9pm, a lock was still on the unit forcing me to return once again the next morning during business hours. This prevented me from being able to return the truck at the scheduled drop off time. Good afternoon, My overall experience with U-Haul was a good one. I was greeted by a pleasant young man the day I moved my stuff into the storage. My original request was for a larger unit, after paying for the larger unit walking to the back this unit was already reserved. We walked back to the front, he asked about refunding me the difference since I now needed to downsize. The manager on duty told him, "not to worry about it, I would receive a credit the next month." The day I signed up for the unit I explained I would only need the unit for two weeks, I was informed U-haul doesn't prorate so I would be paying for the whole month. Fine no problem I needed the unit. I walk in on Friday July 31, 2020 to inquire about my refund and inform the staff I was moving out. I was then again informed the funds would be refunded to my card on file. I don't question anything the same information was provide by two different employees. Fast forward to an email telling me I was going to be charged a late fee. I make my way to the U-haul store on E. Third street to inquire about the late and why my money wasn't refunded to my account. I found out the overpayment was applied to the next month, even though I moved out and informed the staff the morning of. When the manager on dust asked me how he could help, my request was simple make sure your team understands and is aware of the information they are passing along to customers. As a customer it's not my job to know your system or how it works, it's also not my jo to police units prior to paying for it. Add the system been properly updated I would have been informed prior to paying for the unavailable unit. Easy fix I would have been offered the small unit and charged for proper amount. Thank you for the opportunity to express our opinion and share our experience with our rental unit. We had a very bad experience and would like to offer the feedback. The day after my daughter and I rented the storage unit, we returned to drop off some more items. We walked into the storage unit, and to say the place was an incredible mess is a giant understatement. We have a video clip of what we came across upon entering the storage unit, as it appeared everything was grossly vandalized. The isles were so cluttered with miscellaneous items and broken glass that we could not get through to get at our unit. We were slightly frightened as we did not know if there were perpetrators of any sort still in the building, and no other customers or staff were around to assist if any danger presented itself. We then left the building to go to the office and report what we found, and a staff member came to check it out. He was very nice and offered to clear a path but it was obvious this was going to take quite a long while. We were not able to wait for this as we were heading out of town, so we needed to send our items with a friend as they did not fit in our vehicle (the reason we rented the storage unit in the first place). We now need to make arrangements to drive to Chicago (3 hours away) to pick these items up. We tried to call the GM of the Dayton location, AJ Ross, on 3 separate occasions but did not receive a call back. He did finally respond to an email and simply stated, it was an auction and things got out-of-hand. He did not offer anything in the form of compensation for this despite being asked. He just did not reply any further. Please feel free to call for any additional information or clarification. We would share the video of what we witnessed as well. So the staff were super nice, but gave us pretty confusing directions to get to our storage unit. It was so hot out and we had to move our stuff more than once because we were confused about which door to go into. Overall, it was overly confusing. I think that someone should go with you to your unit instead of you trying to figure it out based off of confusing directions. Now that I know how to get in, I'm sure it won't be a problem.
