I was over charged a day and extra insurance. Spent 3 amd a half hours on hold. My contract started drop off 4 pm, when I asked why not 5 like requested I was told it wouldn't be a problem. But was dropped off around 4 pm regardless. However a pretty significant wait to do so. And the person said we went over 10 miles, I said ok no problem. Nothing was mentioned of a supposed " extra".day. which it was not held an extra day. So I am still trying to reach someone regarding my 54 dollar overcharge that I will not be satisfied until is refunded. I do a decent amount of business with your company, but ut seems, there's always something. Especially with the Cohoes NY location. Always that location is a problem.Tara C.

Make it clear that the equipment being rented can only be returned to the same location and explain what the charges will be if returned elsewhere. I had no idea I would be charged $715 dollars because I had to travel to another state. The difference between local equipment and interstate equipment was not made clear to me until after I was charged a fee. The website barely gave me a notice that this would be an issue and didn't explain the fees at all. When I read the contract I thought that the one-way rate was $80 a day, not $350. So I assumed I'd pay $160/day if I returned it to another location, not FUCKING $700Mariama S.

If you tell me I can have a 4x8 trailer for me if only I drive fifteen miles further than my local store, HAVE the 4x8 trailer, not the 5x8 I could have had near home. "The previous renter failed to return it" falls flat when it was promised less than a day before pickup time.Richard W.

No one showed me how to operate the truck st all. Just there it is have. Good day. Had to call service the next day the back door would not open. Then was told O chouks drive to the service center my self. An hour and half away. Then they fand one nere me the one I rented from. They never put a hand truck on and didn't care like deers in head light. Oh yoy want the $7 back? How about ab apology. Then he said he's just charging me for 24.hr I had 26 hr but the 2 hrs trying y to get. Open was my lost. Then $27. For gas 32 miles . I had the most horrible experience I've ever had with any moving company I reserved the truck until 8 PM dropped it off at 7:02 PM the same day tried to give the cashier the keys he refused to take them because he said they were closed. The representative rudely told me I will be charged $20 if I don't return the truck through the app. After a slight argument partially my fault, Before I left I attempted to side onto the app to officially return the truck and it did not work. The website told me the page expired in the link no longer existed so I was unable to return the truck via online.With all that being said I was charged an extra day for $29.99 also I was charged a $20 service fee for not returning the truck correctly even though your app did not work for me. I was told by the representative at the store that I would not be charged the $20 verbally. That obviously did not happen. Our Uhaul was given to us with less than a full tank of gas. We returned it with the same amount it was given. The store attendant claimed it was 4 gallons short and therefore charged us $17. This is outrageous and when I explained it was not given to us with a full tank he said I was wrong even though I had the paper contract given to us that morning showing the fuel level before leaving the site. I feel I was robbed and made to be a liar so Uhaul could make a quick buck off me. I will be further complaining and broadcasting this on social media to warn others of this. This was wrong. I've been renting U-Haul for years and I've never been told, "Here are the keys, go get your truck.It's parked back there..." Every other location, no matter the state, were all professionally run, brought the truck to the door, and went over everything about it. This location is U-Haul in name only. I arranged for a 24/7 truck share pickup but when I arrived at the location early in the morning, there was no reservation for me. I called the 800 number and was told that the location on Ontario St. in Cohoes did not properly set up my reservation to be picked up when the site was closed. I had to wait until they opened at 9. Was not told storage room was raised, about 10 feet in the air before renting unit. Mobile stairs had to be placed, you'd unlock the door, then have to move the stairs out of the way to open the door, then move the stairs back. Unit had a huge beam and lots of wires running through it. Glad I was storing boxes and not bigger items. / Removed items from locker after hours. Called next day to close out. Direct Deposit was not stopped. Called to have stopped. Monies were withdrawn. Called to get refund. Six days later money had not been returned. Had to call again. I believe my issue has now been resolved. I hope. After 3 phone calls and being on hold 20 minutes each time I am not thrilled about this experience. I will still use this site again. Hello, I hate to write negative reviews but feel like feedback would be helpful. I rented a UHaul truck from NYC to Uhaul Cohoes. The representative on the phone told me I could use their climate controlled storage with one month free. She said the unit was on the ground floor. The unit i received was not only on the second floor but it was only accessible by these mobil "staircases". The staircase was falling apart and had no railing at the top which was extremely dangerous. To add, the unit was probably 90 degrees inside. When I rented my unit I was told there were stairs. I was NOT told that the stairs were on wheels, weight at least 25-30 pounds & are the most wobbly, narrow, unsafe, unsecure stairs ever. No way these stairs should be in the building. Scary. Further, after you push the extremely heavy stairs into place and unlock your unit, you can't open the door to the unit. The bars at the top of the stairs are in the way, so you have to drag the stairs away again, open the door and then drag the stairs back into place. And my unit was on the end behind a corner. So no pushing the stairs right up to my unit. I had to navigate a tight corner. Every trip to my storage unit was a nightmare.liz s. | Overall Experience
