I did an online reservation for Sat pickup in Oxnard, CA. I received a call on Thurs afternoon that I had to travel almost 60 miles to Chatworth. What a bait and switch. Cost me $60 plus tip to get an Uber driver to drive me to Chatworth plus my time. Not the issue of this location, is a UHaul issue. Also, was not told by this facility that the trucks do not exceed 75 mph. Very, very dangerous for highway driving.

Make calling in a reservation,not a 20 Minute wait on the phone and have to hear all the U haul Commercials over and over again and not go to a call center.I rent 1 to.2 trucks a week from this location for the last 2/ 3 years.thank you.

Jeffrey R.I have been using this location almost 3 years ( 21326 Devonshire St Chatsworth, CA 91311) First 2 years it was perfect but last 2 times in 6 mounts I got serous problems with customer service then I got stuck without fuel on De Soto and Devonshire without out fuel and there were saying just go to the first gas station , so what there trying to explain someone stole gas from tank !!! Next time no talking with customer just giving paperwork and saying go to lot R 1 which is wasn't clear for me , I'm not uhale Employe but after this experience I understood that it's simple as shit !! This people are need to get fired as soon is it possible!!!! 2nd time they gave me for pickup paper work fuel was almost 3/4 but when I walked by my self to pickup my van and removed Sighn showing (19.95 -or 19.99 ) so u had to remove then go true paperwork !!! Then I find out what they gave me it doesn't Match !!! 50 gallons difference??? Are u fucking serious? 2 times fuel problem !!! If you can't get it then I know your fucking employees stilling your fuel and trying blame on customer

robin W.I rented a uhaul and everything went wrong. First, I was told my rental (that I booked) in advance was unavailable. I was then referred to another location. When I arrived at the other location it was closed. The representative, Lauren, apologized again (as she alerted me to the cancellation earlier) and booked an alternate vehicle-- on the other side of town-- at a discounted rate. When I arrived at the location, Jeff Grodske used his personal phone to photograph my license!! I do not know if he is a manager or an associate as he was not wearing a name badge, but his name appears on the sales slip and said that was his name when asked. Smart phones record their data and licenses are confidential information. I absolutely feel ill. Please address this issue immediately. I had a client waiting in San Diego...because of someone's incompetence that either messed up/ or changed something in the computer we arrived late. We are running a business just as you are....this was not acceptable.

This is after the employee outside told us to leave the keys in the van and made a comment to us that it was a good thing we checked to make sure the doors weren't locked. Maybe they shouldn't ask people to leave the keys in a vehicle for this reason… horrible customer service !!!!!

Manuel P.I'm a repeat customer to this u-haul location for 3 years. They are always very professional and helpful. I rent trucks/trailers almost 18-20 times a year from here. Please take this review as a positive feedback guys to help you improve your service. It was a very smooth transaction today. I made my reservation online, as always. I went to the location, almost no waiting line, Cory checked me in easily, Bill hooked up the trailer and I was on the way in 10minutes. Perfect! After a long day of moving stuff, very tired of working hard and at the end of a hot Friday, I went back around 6pm to drop off the trailer as I always do and I can't wait to go home. I helped the guy to unhook the trailer and waiting for him to check me out, and here it comes, “According to the new rules, you have to use your uhaul.com account to check yourself out, we don't do it for you anymore.†It was obvious the guy wanted to help me but he was told to encourage customers for self-checkout. I already know how to self-checkout using uhaul.com or their app, because sometimes I drop off after-hours and it's the only way to do it in that case. But we were in working hours and forcing your customers to self-checkout when an employee is physically there in front of you is ridiculous. Self checkout is a long process, answering questions on the webpage one after another, taking pictures of the trailer etc. etc. People use your trucks/equipment to move stuff and when they're back there to drop off, they're usually very tired at the end of the day and they just want go out as quick as possible. So I asked them again to do it for me and he said they can not do it because management wants them to ask customers to use their online systems. I refused to do it and I went to talk to the General Manager of this Location, Cory, and unfortunately I got the same answer that I should try to do it myself first, and IF it doesn't work then the employee can help me to do it. I understand the motivation behind, pushing customers to do everything themselves so U-Haul will need less resources for customer service eventually. They want customers to do THEIR work. I get it. You can offer it as an option of course but can not enforce it. You guys are in Service business, and the only way to differentiate your business from competition is to provide better Customer Service and you're doing the opposite. It's nonsense to force customers for this just because A “genius†from HQ or Regional office asked the locations to increase the use of their online systems to improve some internal metrics. Come on you're better than that!

Martin F.I showed up with my 1 year old baby to rent a trailer and was told that I NOW have to book everything online prior. It took me about 30 minutes to complete the reservation on my phone in the 95 degree heat plus an additional 30 minutes for the U-Haul staff to complete their paperwork and attach the trailer. The whole process took at least an hour to complete before I left with a trailer, and with a baby this is unacceptable! This new procedure didn't save any time and actually took much longer with numerous mistakes. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED and will consider other companies to rent from in the future!
