I was never able to talk to anyone at the installation location to confirm my appointment prior to arrival. Someone from the central phone service made a request for me to be contacted, no one called. I arrived 15 minutes early but it still took someone 40 minutes to pull my vehicle into the service bay and there was no reason it could not have been done immediately upon my arrival. The installation was very fast and it only took 20 minutes. I was, however, charged for a full hours rate. The service people were very helpful and courteous.Michael C.

Very confusing process. I had already pre-registered but it still took me 40 minutes to get the truck while on the phone. Took pictures of additional damage and the application froze so I had to start over. When returning the van, the app did not say anything about where to return the keys or if I should lock up the truck. That would have been helpful instead of me walking around and having to call the site manager to find the drop off box.Lynn B.

Uhaul and the Chantilly staff treat you like family. Been a customer for years. I also rent your storage units. Love how the access is 24/7 and the rest rooms are also available anytime. Most other places the restroom is only available during business hours only. Always have the truck sizes I need. The CHANTILLY office staff are very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and love to laugh. I observe how they interact with their coworkers and the new ones that are being trained. Improve signage out front, i had no idea what barcode i was suppose to scan, the drop off key box on the app showed an orange drop off box but there was a sign for key drop off on a garage door, it's not clear that that's the correct one to use. The app is terrible and didn't find my location even though I always have my location services enabled. Staff seemed lazy and didn't make an effort to help unless I pressed them for help, they took their sweet time and joked around with other employees and eating at the front desk. I had a reservation for a 26' truck, and when I got there the truck was not there. They have this â€œ$50 reservation guaranteeâ€ but since I was late to pick up the truck they did not honor that. If I showed up at the original time the truck wouldn't have been there either. They ended up giving me a smaller truck and because of that I took more trips and spent more money on both gas and for the mileage. The truck I received was not maintained well, the passenger mirror was cracked, the alignment was off and the brakes were very weak. I did not feel safe driving that truck whatsoever. I have rented many trucks and trailers from many locations and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a U-Haul.TYLERWAYNE C.
The Uhaul experience was great. However, the mover recommended which I booked was terrible and horrific. I would recommend Uhaul not listing them as one of the recommended movers since I had the worst moving experience which I'm still trying to sort out.JOHN KENNEDY J.

The staff worked as a team and where there to really make sure all my questions were answered and made the entire process a legit one stop shop for all of my moving/storage needs. This business NEVER installed my hitch, even after I paid in full up front!!!! I tried contacting them SEVERAL times and no response. I even had corporate U-Haul reach out to them. NOTHING!!! I eventually had to dispute the $370.00 charge with my bank.... I will NEVER consider U-Haul again for ANY future needs. I will not recommend this business and have told everyone about the shady business dealings.Karen U.

The QR code process to return equipment is extremely difficult. I had all settings correct from last time I used. It still would not find location. The app was no different. Great and seamless experience with the u-haul truck drop-off and the storage facility. The representative was super helpful, and the key card access is really convenient. I don't need or want climate control or access to the building carting my things through a maze… However, it wasn't too bad but had I known it was all indoor units, I probably would have went somewhere else. Uhaul should of told us up front about when you close your unit you don't prorate the rent. We lost 3 weeks of payment. The lines at the counter was always long because there was only 1 person working the register and phone at the same time. I moved out of units 2130 and 2149 on May 12. When the movers were packing me out I went to the office to inform the staff member of my move out. I was told to return later that day when the movers were done and someone would do a walk thru with me. I returned a few hours later and was greeted by a different staff member who did not do a walk thru and told me they would take care of closing out my contracts. Turns out 2130 was closed. 2149 remained open despite the fact I checked the following the day and was told both units were closed. I was charged $143 on May 13 and charged $143 on June 12th. I've been trying over a week now to get refunds and spoke to the General Manager, Richard who said he'd take care of it. He closed 2149 on or around June 14 but only processed a refund for the June charge. The May charge has still not been refunded. I'm very dissatisfied with this situation. Why the first person I spoke to (when I wanted to check out) told me a walk thru was necessary but the second person who was supposed to but did not tells me the staff at the Chantilly location do not follow their own procedures and the result is the situation I'm in. We rented a "drive-up" unit because we have some large and heavy items to store and wanted to drop them out of the truck and directly into the storage unit. We arrived late in the evening only to find that your version of "drive-up is a loading dock. The unit you gave us was at the furthest point away from the loading dock which made it extremely difficult and time consuming to move our items from the truck to the unit. We also found out that the large sliding doors at the dock are locked at 7:00 P.M. which will make moving items after 7:00 P.M. very difficult. Luckily we ran into "Ryan" who stayed after his shift to allow us access to the sliding doors. Major kudo's to Ryan, he was very courteous and understands customer service.
