Romero G.Unbelievable experience. I've used u haul so much but I've never been treated with such disrespect in any consumer experience ever. An employee was upset that I parked in the wrong location, which I was not aware of as I was not informed I couldn't park there and this section of the parking lot was not marked in any way that customers could not park there. To “prove a point†(those were the employees words) they blocked my car on in on both sides with two u haul trucks. They were within inches on both sides of my mirrors and went over the yellow lines on each spot. They could've easily caused damage. When I confronted the employee about this they went onto justify it. If I was really parked in the wrong location I had no way of knowing with our proper signage, being an employee, or being informed by the employee who help me with my reservation. None of those things are the case. Another employee instructed her to no longer speak to me because I was upset. Then she was rude and sarcastic ending the exchange with a “have a nice day†that was condescending. I'm honestly shocked by the behavior. I would've happily had a conversation about this and learned for next time. The retaliation felt like harassment and it was inappropriate and unprofessional.

I do not understand why I did not get my full 24 hrs and they said the agent put 4 hrs in the system. So I could only do one load and return it. I did not have time to go back and pick up my mattresses.

allison S.Initially, made reservation online. Received a text to call as there were no trucks available at the location requested though the system showed there was and accepted the reservation. Reservation was changed to pick up at Cape Girardeau location by the operator to whom I spoke. However, the size truck was also changed to a smaller truck which created problems. We ended up making it work but this experience added a level of stress to the move that should not have been an issue.
Deb C.I ordered a truck to pick up in Sikeston, MO. The truck was for use only in Sikeston, MO. The pickup location had to change to a different place in Sikeston (Cape Girardeau). When the pickup location was changed, so was the date. I didn't know the date changed so my reservation was canceled. I then was sent to the S. Kingshighway location 30 minutes away. I discussed with the uhaul employee over the phone that I shouldn't have to pay mileage to Cape Girardeau and back because I ordered the truck to be picked up/dropped off in Sikeston, MO. She said she would include that mileage in the contract. When I picked up the truck in Cape, I again mentioned the mileage and was told there were no "notes" about it but he would see what he could do. I was also made to return the truck to Cape Girardeau, MO instead of Sikeston (WHICH MAKES NO SENSE). I questioned this because I did not have the time to do this and my registered driver was not going to be available on drop off day. As an inexperienced driver, I had to drive the truck up the interstate to Cape Girardeau with the check engine light on. The truck had trouble starting a couple of times during our 2 day rental and the check engine light came on on day 2. When I finally get to return the truck, the general manager said if I hadn't spoken to him about the mileage then there was no guarantee. First off, that is absolute crap because I was told by TWO DIFFERENT employees that the extra mileage would be included. Finally the GM said he would just bill for the estimated mileage I had entered upon booking the truck. I've rented from uhaul several times and it is always a complete crapshoot as to how the experience is going to be. The inconsistency is extremely frustrating. However, uhaul tends to be the only option available. So I'm forced to keep coming back for more, not knowing how things will go over every single time.

Manager was not friendly at all and I did all I could to avoid dealing with her.My payment was credited to another shed and it took me 3 separate trips to get it straightened out while I was locked out of access to my shed. I had to pay 2 extra months cause I couldn't clean out my shed due to the lockout and I didn't have truck. Had to reschedule with help 2 times before the lockout was taken care of, even though I had bank statements and uhaul statements showing I was paid up. Rachel C.Vehicle itself was well maintained and in proper condition. However, it was given to us nearly empty. The most pressing concern regarding our experience was with the management and their communication regarding our reservation. We had initially scheduled to pick up our vehicle on Friday, September 1st at 5:00 p.m. we later came back to the store at around 4:00 to request that we pick up the vehicle early. The associate working with us said yes and seemingly opened a new reservation. We had mentioned to the associate that we would need the vehicle overnight, and he assured us that it would be perfectly fine to keep the vehicle until 4:00 p.m. the next day with no charges. He pointed out on the contract that the return time was 11:00 p.m. that night, but wrote "4pm" in ink on the paper contract and told us he would update the return time afterwards. However, we were awoken at 7:00 a.m. the next day with a call from the local center, telling us that we have not returned our vehicle and will be charged an extra day as a consequence. We explained the situation to the local office and they were not able to help, saying that it was a simple misunderstanding and that we would still be charged an extra day if we were not able to return the vehicle by 11:00 a.m. Shortly afterwards, we received a call from the regional office, again informing us that we have not returned our vehicle and would be charged an extra day. We explained our circumstance to the regional office worker, Amy. She then said that we would not be charged for an extra day, and that we were free to use the vehicle until 4:00 p.m. as it was written in the contract. We ended up returning the vehicle around noon, and One of the employees at the local center informed us that we would be charged an extra day because we were not able to return the vehicle until 11:00 a.m. we notified her about our call with Amy from the regional center, and she was argumentative, insisting that we would still be charged regardless. While attempting to dispute this, the local manager of the building came out of his office and initially said that we would be charged an extra day, but then later changed his mind and said we would only be charged for one day. The communication of the local center was very poor and the associates lacked the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and we're even argumentative and aggressive at times. While we have never had a problem with this local center before, this recent experience has greatly impacted my overall impression and I would hesitate to refer anyone to this center until the staff there have been properly trained.
Joseph T.I changed the original date for UHaul boxes to be delivered to me and somehow that translated into the TV box I requested and paid for belting deleted from the order. Also, every time I signed in, after I created an account, I was told your system did not recognize the device, (even though it was the same one, EVERY TIME) and I would b sent a one time code. Please check that for future customers. A few minor scratches but that may have been due to who packed the boxes.

Teresa T.I was unable to ever use this unit. It already had a lock on it and office was closed and unable to remove the uhaul lock so I wasn't able to store my stuff with uhaul. I ended up having to pay at another storage facility. This was supposed to be removed from my account and never was until my 4th phone call to complain. It should have only been 1 call and should have been properly done the first time.

Tommy H.The access code I was asked to give them, was given but I couldn’t access the building. The GM didn’t believe me that my code didn’t work even though I spent 20 years Active Duty with Top Secret clearance and years of using alarm/access control systems. So he went over and found out I’m not an idiot and my code didn’t actually work. He then gives me his code to use since he has to contact IT support and he will call me when it’s fixed. So I go back to the storage unit which is not located at the office and this makes my THIRD drive over on this Friday 28 July 2023. So using the GM’s code I gain access to the building where the storage unit was located. The unit I signed a contract for was already locked, with two locks. After screaming my frustrations to no one since this building is empty, I have to make my way back over to the office and let them know that the unit I signed contract for was already occupied. The GM takes over my paperwork, starts a whole new contract with a new unit assigned to me. I drive back over to the building, gain access with the GM’s code and go look into the new unit I’m assigned to. When I open the sliding door an alarm goes off so I immediately shut the door. I go back over to the office and inform them I did gain access to the storage building but was unable to inspect the newly assigned unit but I was leaving. The GM assured me he would call to let me know when my code would be working. Saturday arrives and just after noon I have not received a phone call yet so I go back to the storage unit. My code is still not working so I drive over to the office to let them know my code still is not working. I’m going to fill up the storage unit on Sunday, tomorrow, and I’m assured if I use the GM’s code all will be good. Today is Tuesday with no phone call saying everything is fixed so far but the business equipment I bought is stored and secured. Observing that office and the people who work there, evaluations need to be performed. I didn’t even mention the mistakes made on the first contract but pointing them out to the GM when he did a second new contract he corrected those mistakes even though I pointed the mistakes out to the first intake person and she has not the personality for sales. Rude and condescending started when I showed up to tell them the issues I was having in the beginning.

I realize it is hard to maintain a pest/bug/rodent free space with multiple people moving in and out. I realize bugs can come through the smallest crack, but I still think storage unit walk enclosures should be built from bottom to top. I did not like being able to see my neighbors mistress hanging into my unit. The facility advertises 24/hr security- 2 separate occasions a side entry door was propped open upon my arrival making me feel unsafe to enter the building. My unit door had a sensor that needed to be replaced, according to a security guard, when my alarm went off while I was sorting through my belongings, but it was never fixed. The new building is excellent and clean, but the prices are higher so I had to move to another building. U-Haul advertises a clean bathroom facility, which is a bonus. I found it odd that the restroom entry was outside of an interior storage unit facility. This is a disadvantage for both employees and consumer, as it’s apparently forgotten about when it comes to cleaning and sanitizing. I moved out early without a prorated discount- not impressed but I do not have experience with storage units nor do I have anything to compare my experience with.

The staff is just always so short with me and ALWAYS talks to me like I couldn’t be a bigger inconvenience. I had a storage unit there for almost two years never missed a payment and just never had a polite interaction with the staff. I tried my best to always be polite but it was never enough to gain a pleasant interaction. The storage is great just think maybe I can find something a little less expensive with a staff that acts like they can stand me. Thanks again my unit was very serviceable. Have a great day guys. Now I will never get my new car in the garage but hey.

Came in from Las Vegas with a 32foot and car trailer, then rented a medium truck they fixed my mistake (needed a ramp) reserved the wrong one. Then finely needed a trailer to move into my new home. The staff here in cape and the folks in Las Vegas made this nearly 11 month long process happen many thanks to them and the company🤓🐱
