She clearly doesn't like her job and shouldn't take it out on paying customers. Your system in place which is her using her cell phone for check in/out doesn't work well.

Bobbi T.Made a reservation at De Bonas store in Cape Coral, FL. The truck was not returned on time. U haul sent me to ACE Hardware. In NFt. Myers. They only take credit cards... I only had cash. Then I was sent to a bigger u haul location on 41 in N. Ft. Myers, FL. They were able to accommodate my request. Get me in a truck. I had been looking for a 10 ft. Truck. From noon till almost 4 pm. To say it was inconvenient is not the right word Everyone at u haul....from the store employees to Customer Service over the phone were very helpful. I hope my frustration did not convey into me being mad. I sure wasn't. Things happen. I am in the Healthcare industry ( Customer Service) I know how things can go south quick.

Staff was very helpful and had everything organized and in order, nice and clean, they even helped me with the fuel from pick up because it would have been $130 and charged me $100… not even their fault they did it because they have great customer service. Still not happy about having to pay the additional $100 because the pick up location was in such chaos.

David R.I had a reservation that I did not cancel and while in was late picking up (cause I didn't know when my help would come) they have my truck to someone else. When I came to pick it up I found out I didn't have a truck and the person I dealt with was very rude and not at all willing to help me find a new truck. It was another coworker that suggested a cargo van, so I accepted. We took multiple trips in the cargo van and weren't finished moving. Upon return of the cargo van I asked if a truck could be available the following day and was able to take a truck the size I'd originally reserved, at my expense. Very unhappy about this moving experience and it created a lot of issues for those who were willing to help me move.

Christopher E.Every experience I have ever had with U Haul has been a disaster. I don't know what made me think this would be any different. I reserved a 5x8 cargo trailer from the Kernel Cir. location in Fort Myers. Then a day before I was to pick it up there was a "free upgrade" to a 6x12.No big deal,except when I got there to pick it up they said they had none. That I had to go to the N. Cleveland Ave. location to pick up. When I got there, the reservation number had changed, and the bill was going to be $100 more. I spent an hour on the phone with the first location to work it out. Then it turns out they did have a 5x8 which is what I ordered to begin with. That, alone was a cluster enough. That night I went to leave on my trip, and the trailer lights didn't work. It took your roadside assistance over 3 1/2 hours to come to fix the issue. As I traveled the lights kept going out...over, and over. I kept changing fuses in my vehicle just to make it work. Finally, I ended up driving from NY to VT with NO lights on the back. What a piece of garbage. I will NEVER use U Haul again. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for renting people the WORST equipment. You should be more aware that people are traveling with your equipment which means it should be in excellent working order when you rent it to people.
Joseph M.The only complaint I have, and it's really not "a complaint", is that the charges on my credit card would be automatic, depending on how long I kept the unit. This was not explained to me, up front. But not really a complaint.
Michael G.Was never notified when the box arrived then I called and arrange to have the box taken out of storage and set out for the following day and was not taken care of I also went to rent a unit to put everything in and I was charged 14 times for one unit and then was credited the 14 times and everybody blamed each other corporate office do U-Haul location was not very satisfied with your service.

Dan T. | Overall ExperienceThere were no lights on the 2nd floor where my items were stored. I was not informed of this until I arrived in the building. Finding my unit in the dark was next to impossible and I went around wandering the floor, losing track of the people who came up after me in my party. I wandered alone in the dark for 20 minutes, it was basically a scene out of a horror movie, trying to echo locate the people helping me move. As a young women, I did not appreciate this experience. When speaking with the person on the intercom to ask if there was a light switch, or why the lights weren't working, the person who answered was rude and curt, and told us the lights were working in the rest of the building like that mattered considering my unit was on the floor that was without lights. Although we did find out that the lights were down due to a lightning strike, Not even the emergency lights were on. The person offered no help and basically said, deal with it. An offer to move the unit or bring up a flashlight would have made this a better experience. I have returned a week later, and the lights are still not fixed, there is only one small light placed per corridor with some having none at all. I am still having to use the flashlight on my phone to even see inside my unit, and it is still terrifyingly dark.

Susan G. | Overall ExperienceOur only issue was that we had a reservation for a 10 x 10 but when we went to the facility, all they had on the ground floor was a 10 x 15, which we accepted and will likely keep for several months until our new house is ready. We were hoping to pay $144+ per month instead of $239+ per month but we are NOT moving storage units even if a 10 x 10 becomes available, it's too much work for senior citizens. On a positive note, everyone we dealt with at U-Haul throughout this process was very pleasant and our rental truck ran flawlessly. We appreciate the free upgrade to a larger truck as well as the first month free on the storage unit. Customer Service was great!

The keycard never works and the facility is poorly lit. I feel for the staff as they are over worked. This place could be so much better if someone would figure out how to organize it.

There was usually only 1 way in and same way out and pulling a trailer to get out really was bad. They either had signs saying do not enter for alternatives or they had the roadways block with boxes and trailers and vans. Makes it horrible to just drive up to the loading entrance for loading ad and unloading. You should provide clear drive paths at both ends of the storage facility allowing vehicles a clear ingress and egress possibilities.

She barely acknowledged me and said what can I do about them, they're broke , someone's coming Monday! as she obviously was more interested in her cigarette and didn't want to be bothered My question is why was It even rented to me without letting me of the problem. The issues are not with the location, had reserved 2 storage units one on the 1st floor and the other on 2nd floor. When I arrived was told there was no units available on the 1st floor. Only once I became insistent did the team go and find a unit. This is the 2nd occurrence when reservation was made with U-Haul and there was an issue. Generally the U-Haul website is slow to navigate.

Many times I was trying to leave & had to wait for large trucks to get out of the way. Also there are only 2 flatbed dollies & 2 mattress dollies? On weekends I had to wait many times to obtain a dolly since it was busy. Then, after sweeping the storage unit, could not find a trash can anywhere to dispose of the sweepings. Overall, not happy with your storage facility.

I waiting on line over an hour for a reserved van. You need more people in your busy days Saturday and Sunday. My entire day was delayed because of this. 2- i reserved online with my debit card. After and hour on line i was told the cannot take debit cards. Where were the signs? The notices? Let people be prepared. Dont surprise them with new information especially after waiting an hour on line.

We knew we needed 2 units so we thought we were good. The facility didn't have the smaller unit nor did any other facility in the area. Now I was driving around with stuff in a truck that I didn't have a place for and the truck needed to be returned 12 hours later. My thoughts Uhaul should update there website so units ONLY available are offered for rent. Otherwise truck ran great, tow dolly worked great. I would have liked to kept my business with Uhaul considering how much money I've spent with them in the last month.

Customer service connected me to 'emergency - fire/police'. We played that several times - the 3rd time I requested to the rep staying on the line during transfer and it didn't! Connecting says 30-40min wait; 10mins after 7pm was the time. That was after reserving with Blake, not getting the online site to accept some info, then repeating almost everything again inside the N.FM location. Not a stellar beginning!

They seem to be everywhere and can't find a place to park unless I go early in the morning when it opens. I am a musician and store my gear there every hurricane season. This was my third year using it for 6-7 months. I won't be back.

Although you have huge signs advertising $89 a month units, you don't actually have any for rent and there is a wait list so you won't have any to rent for the near future. When I rented, I had to take the bigger size for $249 a month (despite your bait and switch ads). The person who rented to me did not explain the card or how to swipe in and swipe out so I had no idea it would alarm if I entered my unit without swiping. While I was waiting, several units alarmed (according to the board) yet no one investigated and when I asked, they said it was common for people to accidentally alarm so they don't pay any attention. How is that secure? Somehow, I was charged an extra month for my unit and they couldn't tell me why and said there was no refund available. The aisles in the place are super overcrowded, making it dangerous to drive to the unit. Big boxes are perched precariously, looking like they will fall. The dumpsters were always overflowing, making the place look filthy and unsanitary. There is not enough help. I bought wardrobe boxes but they did not tell me I needed the pole and I had to make another trip back to get them. Overall, it was not a good experience and there is additional training needed for your people.
