There were two people who were working on installing the auto trailer to the truck and neither of them noticed there was no pin in the hitch. Additionally, the inspection sticker wasn't on the trailer from when they received it before I rented it. When I was unloading my truck from the back of the trailer, the weight caused the trailer to come off the ball since there was no pin holding it in place, and launched me and my truck back and up. Had I not had a manual winch anchoring the truck to the D ring on the trailer, it would've gone through my garage wall and I would've fallen though and under the trailer. Luckily I'm fine and there was no damage to anything other than a surface level scuff on the rental truck's tailgate. Gear inspections and procedural checks must be done properly and within periodicity. At least two people saw my rental and neither took notice of the incomplete installation nor the missing inspection sticker and the result would've been costly damages and severe injury had I not also provided my own safety gear. I'm a former military maintenance technician so the importance of these things is not lost to me. I'm also severely disabled due to gundecked maintenance checks and complacency like what I experienced with this rental. Please drive home the importance of check lists and procedure to the crew. If people need to carry checklists, do it. That would make any customer more comfortable. Other than this, the two gentleman who checked my rental back in were great, and it was nice to see the new employee not hesitating to ask his coworkers how to properly handle things like damage reports and technical issues instead of trying to just fail with an air of confidence in front of the customer. Oh and the new trucks are nice. Finally got power locks and windows.

This was really a terrible experience all around. The black lady who works at the customer service counter had a TERRIBLE attitude and unfortunately I had to encounter her 3 different times. She was belittling, not friendly AT ALL and extremely rude and pushy. I'm a 140 pound girl and I had to put the dolly on the truck myself. And this is all after picking up the truck at different location that was supposed to have the dolly WITH the truck. Very frustrating experience to say the least.

When I returned my rental truck to this location, the gas gauge was the same as when I rented the truck in Redding. The employee said the computer reported the gas level low and hit me with a $20 gas charge.. It is a real shame that U-Haul would, trade customer loyalty for $20, but that was you decision. Unless forced, I will not be back.

The location was difficult to contact. I was put on extended hold numerous times or no one would answer, resulting in my call being forwarded to the national line, who had no idea how to fix my issue. I reserved too boxes on-line and then had to go to the store to make changes. The process was not smooth and took several phone calls and days to finally resolve.

I reserved a 6 x 12 two months prior and the day before I was to pick it up was told it wasn't available and was forced to use a 5 x 8. This caused me to make two trips which were two hours each way! I asked the guy why it wasn't available and he came up with the lame story someone else had rented it 2 1/2 months earlier. Why them wasn't I told that two month earlier. I had to drive 5 hours to there to help my daughter move so I had no other options. He kept trying to rent me an open trailer and I kept telling him it was heavy rain forecasted which is exactly what happened. Poor service!!!

The truck was clean but it seemed it had no oil so the transmission was failing and the truck wasn't backing up and we had to go to another location in Northridge to try to switch it . But they didn't have a truck for us. They put oil and then we were able to use it. That experience made us lose time to figure out what to do about it and cost us money for paid labor for that time.

Customer service was not great. The store opened a couple of minutes late and then we had to wait until the computers booted up. Even though I checked in online ahead of time, the process took 20 minutes between the time we got there until we got the keys. Also, the worker wasn't wearing a mask, she said she "didn't have one handy." The truck was fine, clean, ran well. Returning the truck went smoothly.

Tire was very low, told rep at site and he said to bring it to him to fill it. Brought it to him and his machine didn't work. I had to take it to a gas station band do it myself. Very inconvenient since truck was large and difficult to maneuver at a gas station. I also got mis charged at the end. Just got my credit card bill. I got charged for 139 miles rather than 22 miles that I actually used. I told guy before renting that online it is giving wrong mileage. He said don't worry take pic and they will adjust it. It never got adjusted. Now have to go through hassle to get it fixed. Very disappointed

They don't guarantee your advance online order, they tried not to give the appliance dolly that I booked online, until I ask for a Manager then suddenly they found one. The worst part is that they gave same dolly to a customer after me, is there any customer preference??? I hope you treat your customers equally.

When I first came in to the office today I came early because I wanted to be able to have a truck however when I arrived be female associate told me that there was nothing available and I told her I asked her not even for four hours and she said no she looked at me stone faced and told me no. I turned around I walked back in the line the third person now and the line reserve myself a truck which I wanted to begin with and check out my truck with a different sales associate. How could you have somebody turned me away and tell me there's no trucks available when there were trucks available? She was very rude and she did not try to accommodate my needs and then the less I gave up my storage that I was leaving allowing a new tenant to come in making you guys money for Another week on rentals that I had already paid for and somebody had actually wanted my unit and I walk with her to the office and gave the OK. However that female associate that was working today should not be employed with your firm because she is a very horrible rude Person. I have rented two storage units Q U-Haul's and a third one today giving you guys hard earned money and to be treated like that by her was unacceptable. I hope somebody will address the situation. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share

Only 1 day rental at 19.99 I returned with extra gas than required. Overcharged almost $67.00. for: mileage- 1 x .49=..49 cents gas $7.12 tax, and 2 extra days of rental 39.99. Insurance-Quoted $10.00 charged $20.00 Gas $7.12 How many other people are being defrauded?! Disputing with Canyon Country, CA U-Haul, my bank, and reporting to Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and posting on social media to warn others of locations' intentional practice of ethical wrongdoing. Other than that, the vehicle was great! Local reviews warned of overcharging, I should have gone to another location. U-Haul locations are franchises.

The share app technology did not work after multiple attempts. Myself and another customer had to wait for close to 20 minutes. Once the manager realized that the barcode had an issue, I had to wait in line before he had to cancel my reservation and start a new one. I waited for over half an hour total. As I was billed for time, I am not sure I was billed the correct amount. The whole idea of this technology is to reserve in advance, walk up scan a barcode, give keys to your vehicle finish the process and drive away. None of this worked.

I had issues returning my Van. I was told i had the wrong location and was almost charged extra fees even though i arrived at the location stated on my service contract. I had to wait in line to reslove the issue. Also i was charged a late fee for having the truck an additional day even though i brought it back on the correct day just later than the time that was on my contract. I understand the reason for late fees just seems like a poor way to treat customers

I've rented from this location many times. The staff there is helpful and friendly. When returning the vehicle after hours and through the app. The process needs to be simple and quicker. Sometimes the app cannot read the drop off location and takes way too long to process. It's also a bit frustrating that the app does not save your general info when logging in to reserve truck. If you want customers to use it more often make it super easy and quick.

I do wish that there was a bit more of emphasis on the fact that most vehicle insurance policies do not cover "commercial vehicles." I discovered this after I declined coverage with U-Haul (it is very expensive IMHO) and had to go back, pay for an extra day and have contract cancelled and rewritten.

Our truck stalled 8 times. When we brought it back, the guy said that there was 1 truck which had problems & needed to be repaired. I don't think the office knew abt this. Why would they rent it out? Lack of communication btwn Office & maintenance. I think I was overcharged also. I had a $10 discount to start with b/c The 10 footer I had ordered wasn't back yet so the nice man said well I'll give you this other truck that you could take now and I will only charge you $19.95. That was very nice but I'm sure he didn't know that the truck was going to stall that many times just going a few miles away. All in all we drove about 14 miles round-trip which was to the storage place then my apartment then back to the U-Haul to turn the truck in. When I took the truck in the lady at the desk said “ You already got a $10 discount“ so I had to explain to her why because the gentleman that took me in the morning wasn't there maybe he was on lunch. But when I told her it stalled 8 times I didn't get much of a reaction from her and she wouldn't give me another discount because she kept saying I already got a discount. I thought she was rude. My son and myself felt unsafe in this truck and that's why we didn't even top off the gas because we were afraid it was going to stall again and it did while we were pulling into the U-Haul facility. At 14 miles we only used an inch of gas anyway, it was still on full. I wish that gentleman was there the one that was there when I checked in and not the woman that we encountered while checking out. The maintenance staff was nice and said they were going to look into the truck truck for repair and that it shouldn't be stalling so many times. I didn't need to be greeted with “ you already got a discount” and have to re-explain the whole incident. Well she said she didn't charge us for the gas. Well we didn't really use gas if it was the speedometer was still on full, so to me that's not much of a discount for a truck that stalled 8 times. I was very disappointed, but it got the job done. But next time, there's a problem with the truck the maintenance The office staff need to communicate with each other.

We don't use Uhaul a lot. However, when we do, there has always been some kind of mix up. It's always been taken care of but for once, I'd like to go in and get what I reserved without any issues. Also, the manager, Traci, could be a little more personable. She just sits back, popping her gum like “well, sorry”. The other employees are way more helpful and personable that she is.

Exit gate control not ez to find -place a sign. Door codes don't alway work and must ring very busy inside staff to get in. Consider allowing a photo of empty unit instead of waiting on someone to check it out.My time is important too. Over all fine but could improve.

We vacated our space on 7-15, month was up on 7-22,informed you we were out. Got a call 10 days later saying rent was due, after we told them they looked at the note in our file to see we were out.. They said we were good. Then on 8-1 we get an e-mail saying we are late on our rent and have a $20 late fee, so now I have to send an e-mail, because I can't get through by phone to say again we were out on 7-15. Communication sucked, don't think I would recommend you for storage.

Didn't access the facility, but can say the experience with my U-Box driver, Marissa, was exceptional. She kept me up-to-date with all the plans and provided top-notch service. Went above & beyond.

I don't even have items in storage with this location, yet they bill me and put liens on imaginary storage units. U-HAUL IS A FRACTURED BUSINESS. By far, the worst storage experience in 57 years.
