Further than the Location, U-Haul has again pulled a fantastic bait and switch. It is not enough to have U-Haul protect itself with fine prints. They switched the location for pick up from my neighborhood to a place that cost me $100 in Uber cost, almost 3 extra hours and $50 in extra mile cost. U-Haul knows that customers wouldn't book with them if their equipment would be far away and can't cancel a few hours before the move. I'm considering involving the better business bureau to investigate this bait and switch practice.PIERRED W.

My reservation was at another location closer to my home. Upon my arrival I received a call saying my truck was unavailable at that location. I was then sent to Cambria heights to pick a smaller truck. I was promised a $50 inconvenience fee. Not sure when I will get thatRoger P.

The uhaul that was given to me was clean, however the mileage was incorrect and i was not aware of it until i returned the truck and entered my ending mileage and i was told â€œthat the mileage shown on the vehicle was lower that what i entered for me starting mileageâ€ this caused me to be sitting outside in the rain and not completing my return form for my uhaul. The first Representative outside was very courteous. He acknowledged my presence moments after getting out of my car. He said someone would be with me soon and he was. I was glad I didn't have to search around the lot for assistance.Â The second Representative inside assisted me at the counter. Very out of the way, had to drive 10 miles when I had reserved the truck from a location in my town less than a mile away.Eric Y.
I ha d a problem with the language of the manager. His heavy accent made it hard to understand any word he said. He also gave me a dolly that was the wrong one I ordered. I explained it to him but he insisted he was right. ,SAMUELC D.
I made a reservation at the Bellerose location but it was moved to Cambria Heights after the fact because Bellerose apparently didn't have the truck. This location was about 4 miles further away than where I wanted to rent from. Additionally, I had a furniture dolly in my order but when I picked up the truck, they were out of furniture dollies. I ended up have to rent the appliance dolly instead. Overall I ended up spending more money than I originally planned because uHaul couldn't accommodate my original order.Justin F.

Uhaul location at montauk and merrick blvd looks like a junk yard. I had a reservation there on Saturday and my truck was rented to someone else. On Sunday I picked up a truck at this location and couldn't even use it because something was wrong with the tire however I was charged for the truck. This has been a weekend of anger and frustration at uhaul. I still didn't get my move done thanks to my weekend at uhaul hell. And yes, I tried calling roadside assistance and no one answered so I return the truck early. Why was I charged and what does reservation mean. At this moment I would request a full refund for all the aggravation and frustration I experienced at uhaul this weekend. I was surprised by the final total of my rental. it's advertised for $19.99 a day rental. my final total was $108.00. I was charged .76 per mile for 20 miles, surcharge fee, environmental fee. All these hidden fees should be advised upon reserving a rental. I had to call to get a copy of my receipt after being told on the day I returned the truck that they were emailing the receipt @ that time. 4 days later I had to call & request my receipt. when I received the receipt it was too small for me to read the details and the enlargement icon was not enlarging the receipt. I had used the truck and willing to pay for gas bur, all those other fees were shockingly surprising. It makes you distrust this company all together. for anyone reading this please ask about additional fees before booking a rental!!!!VALARIEFAYE L.
The reps are doing an excellent job but inside the facility is so hot that the wait time seemed like an eternity, and the staff and patrons suffer in a sauna. Management needs to install AC to cool down the place. Think about your staff and patrons.William F.

Although the intake rep put the wrong mileage at pick up, it was off at 50 miles . When we returned it was over 50 miles , after a while , the cashier decided to go the extra mile and look up the previous information and found the error . She went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Thanks again !SUEMELISSA B.
