I often rent from this location. I also have a monthly rental storage space at the same location. Typically the experience has always been positive. Unfortunately, this past Wednesday the night before Thanksgiving the situation was horrible. I rented a 10' box truck that I needed desperately for work the following morning. I opened the back 4am the following morning, and found it completely packed with someone else's furniture!!! It totally screwed up our Thanksgiving distribution. When we returned the unit due to the situation no one seemed to care!

Hours were very inconvenient for the price. People obviously live in the storage facility. Garage garbage bin was always overflowing. People dent your door and do not report it and i had to wait to get into my storage. All was resolved however resulted in me needing to travel several times due to where i was coming from.This may be convenient for someone else, just not for me.

Cynthia zamora was wonderful lady . She was very helpful. She walk me through the steps. Show how to use the cards . Where to get the dolly. How to go up and down the stairs, and out of the property. It was very clean , open place. Lot of trucks in all size. She was very good on size room I needed.. That's real good to no, plenty of parking. Not hard to find, with a wonderful experience. Everything was great until I received the bill. I will be call 800-GoUhaul later today. I told the rep I wanted to leave the rental rental at the closet UHaul to my destination. He told me to upgrade from a Cargo Van I had reserved to a Truck that would permit me not to have to come back to the Bronzeville Location, but apparently that was not the case or he gave me wrong truck. I saw the bill for almost $200 I called the Cicero Location where dropped off and they told me I should have been directed to one-way service.

I rated my experience three stars because of the way my partial exit from UHaul was handled after paying over $10,000 in storage fees since renting the two storage units in early June, 2000 & never missing a payment. Nevertheless, the day after the grace period ended, Oct. 6th, I personally went to the UHaul and asked if I could extend the period for two more since was hiring professional movers & planned to move out in two more days. The two guys working there both said it would be alright and that they would put a note in the system. When I arrived there two days later, we could not operate the elevator or get a guest pass because the system stated the rent on the units were past due. When we were let on the elevator by the manager after explaining what had happened, the movers and I get to the first unit & there is an additional lock on the unit put there by UHaul due to non-pymt. I then called the downstairs front desk & the manager came to take the lock off, all the time my $150. per hr movers sat around waiting. Finally when they finished cleaning out the first unit & could not fit all of the second unit on their truck, I went to the office & paid for the month of October for that unit, which I had told the two guys I had spoken with earlier that I would do. This all happened a week & a half ago & yet someone called me a couple of days ago from UHaul to tell me that I owed rent on the unit I had moved from although I had ended that lease the day I moved out & had also removed my lock. The unit was completely empty yet they did not even know that or check before calling me. I then had to explain the entire chain of events that day so she could really understand that I had paid the rent for October on the rental unit I still had. So frustrating!!

I was charged 4times the amount because of the uhaul mistake in calculating miles run and even with the fuel meter. Make sure to take picture of odometer before and after so you can get the refund for the wrongful amount debited from the card. Else you cannot help it.

I was looking for a unit to store my things and was crunched on timing so I was a bit stressed. Upon speaking to Anthony and letting him know all of this, Anthony was very professional, and knowledgeable with what I needed and helped me find the right size unit for my items. He took the time to understand my situation and was very polite. He also gave me options on what was the best bang for my buck. It's refreshing to deal with people who are transparent and helpful. It's little things like that, that helped alleviate a stressful situation, which I appreciated it a lot. I will definitely be using Uhaul of Bronzeville again and will recommend this location to anyone.

My truck rental went reasonably okay with the exception that the truck was on Empty. I rcvd additional billing and can't tell what it's purpose. Also, had to drive extra miles for drop-off location, event though closest was less than a mile away.

Never give a truck on empty. That's so beyond inappropriate. Also make sure the break lights work, and the turn signals. Each truck should undergo an inspection before they are passed to another person.

Inform customer when they have left their padlock key on the Uhaul key ring. Also phone chargers for Uhaul employees so their phones don't die and customer can get a receipt.

The guy at the counter misled us. He actually cheated. We explicitly asked him if we can use mobile app for rental return. He said just drop the keys in the dropbox and he will take care of everything. He didn't tell us that there will be extra charge for this. Poor service.

I rented the reusable plastic boxes from this location, and the boxes were not clean when I picked them up. We had to wipe them out ourselves to prepare to pack them. The website said that they were cleaned after each use, and it was clear that that had not happened between uses, so that was disappointing.

The pick up location was good. But your customer service 800 line is horrible. And because of them I will never recommend Uhaul to anyone. And will never use your company again. Your location in Alsip, Illinois is also questionable. I feel like you take advantage because you are one of the few companies to offer these services and I find this sad. The stress of moving is already bad, and then to have your customer service department add more to people is disappointing. So that being said I hope you can change your service but for now I will not be returning as a customer and I will talk others out of using you.

There should be a time limit on how long some one came hold up the loading/unloading dock. Holding up the dock for a 5/6 hr time is to long. There r other customers who have to use it in a timely manner.

The u-haul I was given this time needs to either be heavily serviced or junked. The ignition is difficult, the key has to be wiggled just right or a driver can't even attempt to start it. It rattles so bad I had a car trailing me and they thought it was going to break down because of how loud it is. The engine light was on and the low-tire air warning.

Several comments: 1. THE STAFF WERE TERRIFIC!!!!!! There was a power failure that morning, and the woman who helped us was dealing with a number of issues. She was really helpful and courteous. I really appreciated her and the other staff onsite. 2. The van we were assigned had a door that was broken and couldn't open. What's with that? The helpful staff quickly reassigned us another van, but I wouldn't always think to try every door. 3. Your app/mobile pickup option sucks. When I went to pick up my van, it said I had to add alternate contacts, passport, etc. If that was required for pickup, why didn't I get an email/contact from someone PRIOR to the pickup???? THIS IS CRAZY!!!!! 4. In the midst of the craziness of needing to add alternate contacts, the loss of power at the rental location, and the broken door, I did not receive the dolly that I also reserved -- although I was charged. You need a checklist for the mobile app/pickup option.

I consistently didn't hear back when I reached out regarding the issues I experienced over the past yr. I consistently could never get through on the phobe and would sit on hold for hours. My contract and unit was put in a random person's name and address due to this I was told I could not get information on this account . This error was supposedly corrected multiple times and never was. I was reassured that the storage would fit my belongings. There was a huge cement cylinder taking up the majority of the rm. I ended up having to switch to a more expensive room when this was discovered upon arrival despite explicitly inquiring beforehand.

I had initially reserved a 5x5x10 and was shown this in the preview, but the actual locker was 5x5x6. This was reflected on the contract and will suit my needs but it felt like a bait and switch

Had a good storage expericence with the exception that someone on my floor decided it was ok to store a cat in one of the lockers. I heard the poor cat scream over the course of a couple of week while I was moving things in and out of the place. First time, I thought I was hearing things but a week later I definately knew it was a stored cat. Whoever treated a cat like this should be held accountable legally. I called the office but no answer and the call forwarded to the main UHAUL customer service line. I told the rep about it and he wrote a note to managenement and I think it was taken care of. Which is good cause I was about to call 911, animal control, the media etc. This is extreme animal cruelty and I think better measures should be in place to not only check what people are storing but to hold them responsible if they break the rules or the law.

Place is clean and well lit. The staff is pretty nice but def in need of security. Seems like some customers need supervision because there have been times when I felt unsafe.

Great facility. Alarm went off too often and was deafly ear-piercing. Some tenants were very sketch and loitered in the garage for no reason.

There was some water damage to items in the unit. I was on a high floor and didn't expect that to happen. But overall the experience was good and served its short-term purpose. I will know in future to elevate items should I store again.

Navigating the website trying to determine which size space I should rent was easy, checking in in person was easy and everyone was so nice and accommodating. I like the security of this location regarding how you get into the building and I feel that my belongings will be safe.
