*My complaint is with UHaul* We drove from TN to Lake Wyle with trailer to help our son move to Florence SC. He rented a lg truck in NC & our plan was to put the items from our rental trailer into his rented truck & drop off the trailer there in Lake Wylie. After arriving, we realized the items we had would not fit in the truck with his items that he had loaded. I called to change my destination drop off of the trailer (which I had for another 24 hours) & was told that I would be charged rent times 2 for this change! So UHaul charged me more money for something that I already paid for. I can understand the charge if I did not notify them of the change or didn't return it in time, but I did! To avoid the double charge, we returned trailer in Lake Wylie & rented it again for Florence. STILL HAD TO PAY TOO MUCH FOR THIS. I've been a long time customer & am not happy now.

I find it appropriate to suggest that U-Haul Corporate issue a commendation to this location as they always meet, exceed, and go beyond in meeting customer needs. Joel is a talented and skilled manager. He doesn't simply manage but surpasses that in his being a leader and guide to his staff. His employee, Todd is a shining example of Joel's success. Todd hasfrequebyly met my particular needs in a being a customer. He has met a few very unconventional need I have had and put in motion his sharp problem solving skills and found solutions. I appreciate and I'm grateful for everything that U-Haul on W. State St. has done for me over the course of my two or three years of doingbusiness with.them. They get a gold star.

Blake BWell I want to start out with there was no list of rules and regulations handed out from the word go. And two the staff they need to go to school and learn what customer service is all about. And three they change the access hours to the storage building at any given time they would change it I mean I got pictures I don't know exactly the timeline on how they would change it how fast whatever but it will change it seem like from I want to say month to month if not ever 2 months to change. I am now this is directed to corporate you know sometimes people run into a little hard spot and a little bit late on paying something it was as long as you got your money and get your money for the end of the calendar year it doesn't hurt to work with people from you know they might be a little bit short you know what I'm pay you so much in catch you up for about a month or whatever as long as it all caught up by the end of the calendar year but you people won't work nobody you let greed get in your way and I can understand not doing it for people with the poor payment history with you as far as not paying you at all but if somebody's making Force the effort to pay go to work with just a little bit I mean it ain't going to kill you as long as I said you get your money in full by the end of the calendar year. And you got one business day to get your stuff out of our unit well sometimes you got to find help somebody you know to help you not just threatening you know one day then I'm going to lock you out and throw your stuff out like I got threatened at that facility and you're to give a discount instead of raising the rent for people that pay their bill.

JAMES HMy experience with customer service at this location was very good. The two gentlemen who helped me were nowledgeable, friendly, helpful, professional. My only issue was with the truck I rented. While driving it there was a constant smell of burning rubber that was annoying. When I returned it I made the representative aware. I will say the truck was clean. Other than that I would recommend this location.

JARVIS GThe fuel level and mileage were both incorrect on the truck. In addition, when I went to my storage unit at the same facility it was locked with a red lock from the facility although my storage was paid for the month. Also, when I arrived at the return location in Johnson City, TN the representative was very helpful and even informed me I could've saved money by choosing a local rental option instead of one way option. He asked if the Bristol location informed me of this option, in which they did not. I was also only given the bare minimum amount of miles which ended having to pay an additional amount of miles over because I could not locate the return center. It was not a pleasant experience and I will not go back to the Bristol, TN location for moving needs in the future. I also think U-Haul should prorate rent if you move out of storage unit early.

BEVERLY R | Overall ExperienceI reserved van to help move my stuff and when I went in to pick it up, I was told that if I paid by debit card, there would be $100 deposit held on my card as well however I was told I paid with cash that I could just give them $100 and come back and get the difference when I return the van Upon getting them The cash I was there told that they would not take cash for the van. The only way that I could use that was to get a truck so to move what would've easily fit in a 9 foot van I ended up having to pay for a 20 foot truck cost me more than $30 extra due to being lied to in the beginning not only was this one case that I had to deal with the pricing on the storage units had went up from what I was originally told as well and I just simply wanted away from them and find something that was cheaper 24 hour access and dealing with people who were honest

WILLIAM PI was very very disappointed in this rental! The guy which was Shawn M. that checked out my husband (Johnny Joyce) that I sent to pick up the uhaul! First of all he did not verify the place again with my husband that we were supposed to drop it off which was stated in the reservation. He had me dropping it off in Tenn somewhere - for whatever reason I do not know - when the reservation clearly states we were to drop it off in Buford Ga - I have receipts of all this! This guy Shawn - who clearly did not do his job sure caused me a lot of heart ache!! I stayed at the u haul drop off in Buford Ga for about an hour and talked to 4 different people that night and was switched around everywhere not knowing if I could drop off this u haul at my correct drop off place or not. I was on the phone the following day which was Tuesday Nov, 12 still trying to make sure it was ok that I have left it there because I didn't want to be charged an extra fee as the paper stated! I really hope someone listens to the phone calls and knows all the things I had to endure for this rental experience all because someone did not do their job correctly!! Clearly I'm not sure where his mind was on Sunday Nov 10!! I would greatly appreciate someone taking the time to check all of this terrible situation and all the anguish it caused me. I was literally crying on the phone the next day twice - I had two melt downs because each person would tell me something different and several different phone calls! One person would say "yes" its checked in and call back a little later to make sure everything is ok - when I called back that person would say no its not checked in and send me to another number or tell me to call another number. Then finally one guy would take my complaint and said I may hear something by Friday? I feel all I went through with this mess that I should have never gone through - I deserve a "FULL" refund - Something that should have been so simple turned into a nightmare for me. I would Sincerely hope someone would please give me a call back Peggy Joyce

Virginia JI rented a 15 ft truck that was supposed to be 29.95 per day. They charged me 160.00 saying was for a deposit and such. We saw we were gonna need it another day and called them to make sure all was ok, told them it may even be later in the evening the next day that we returned it, guy said yeah no problem. We got a call from another uhaul from an 855 area code BEFORE it was due back on the original date saying it was due back that day. Told them I had already called my local uhaul and they know and gave the go-ahead that we could rent an additional day. We returned the uhaul the next evening (around 8pm) after we had cleaned it all up and the next day instead of issuing me a refund to my card they tried to bill my card almost another 60.00!!! I thankfully keep my card locked or they would have charged me well over 200.00 on a rental that should have cost 60.00!!!! I wouldn't recommend uhaul at all!
CHARLENE DI was supposed to have a 26' truck ready at 8am. Scheduled a week ahead of time. Arrived at 8am to find a truck was not assigned to me. Had to wait for the store to open at 9am. The store opener didn't come in, so an employee had to call the gm to get in a side door. I got the truck at 9:30am, but without the dolly that I ordered because none were left for me despite reserving one. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
DANIEL CVery disappointed, every 3 months it seemed that my units were going up 5$ - 10$ without notice. The app need to be adjusted to stop automatically putting you on auto pay everytime you just make a payment. Even tho I would unchecked the box for auto pay. I shouldn't have to do that every month for three years. The late fees were assigned at 12am in the 5 th day. So techniquely when it shud be by end of business day on the 5th. So sometimes my pay isn't in my acct by the 5th so I would have to pay late most months. And with the units being charged up every 3 months then you increase the late fees as well, it just doesn't make sense to use your company. I moved out of my units after 3 yrs and moved into another company that actually is 50 more but TWICE the size. Will not recommend. My mother in FL did the same thing . Moved because of the increase and app putting her on auto pay.

Chanda HThe cargo van I rented gave me an actual panic attack. About 200 miles from where I started, I was on the highway and ants started coming out of the dash. There was about twenty total. I ended up having to pull off the road and start smashing. I then ended up getting ant spray. As I was spraying the van I noticed that there was a ton of crumbs and even trash on the floorboard and behind the seats. A nightmare. I told the attendant about my experience when I brought back the van, and he was unconcerned and blamed it on the people he worked with. Not a good experience at all.
ELLEN PWhen I dropped off the rental they were indifferent. They just asked for the keys and went on doing whatever they were involved in doing. They did not inspect the vehicle or seem interested when I told them it had a half tank of gas.

ETHAN VEverything was great except the loading and unloading truck bays were filthy. We were the first ones in that morning and had to sweep them out. Nails, screws, trash every where! Storage area had trash too!

He hooked it up and made sure the lights worked but once I on road I learned that light connection was bad. Then when I got home I tried to open back door rusted had to get a man to get it open . Then the piece that goes on ball was rusted so bad had to get a pipe wrench to get it off never seen one like that I also had to rent trailer 2 extra days due to I couldn't get door up and light connection couldn't travel at night

Only thing that could make it better would be a loading dock that lines up with the height of a truck or van for loading and onloading heavy items. Come to think of it, they may have and we just didn't see it. I really liked that they have a room for people to leave furniture or items they no longer want or need so you can "shop" and take something you need. Love to see a good recycle/reuse in operation. That is very cool perk at this location.

The U-Haul agents were "out of this world" helpful and kind! I have only good things to say about my entire experience with them. *** My initial voyage around the gutted out KMART store was not scenic at all. Brand new partitions lined from wall to wall. Clean, dry, well-lit building. I could NOT find my cubicle! Luckily, the nice cleaning lady informed me I was in the "Do it Yourself" section and I needed to explore the "Toys" section to find my spot. I knew exactly where to go. Away I went! Past the "Kitchen Korner," a 90 degree turn by "One Hour Photo" then a stroll through "Lay-a-Way" and VOILA....I FOUND MY SPOT! Happy I was to release my baggage! The best feeling ever! THANK-YOU U-HAUL! I was delighted with my experience!
