I booked the 5x8 weeks ago but the pick up destination was changed by you with just a day to go and the promised phone call 24 hours before pick up from you, never happened ! One of your staff should have delivered the trailer to the pick up location I'd booked . The truck's windshield and side windows were so dirty I unable to see clearly until I cleaned them. The truck had cigarette smoke smell I had to drive with the window down. As customer's service was unreal. The female at the desk in the office when I arrived was not friendly. She acted like she hated her job. She made the check in difficult, The guy (don't know his name) was loud, rude, and aggressive acting. He approached me in an aggressive (fast walking toward me). They told me to go outside and find a guy named Nick to help me find the email to sign out on the inspection. It was a text not an email. Nick was very helpful with the inspection process. Nick the told me where my rental truck was located. As I was looking at the outside of the truck the aggressive guy walked fast up to me yelling at me that I was at the wrong truck. As I was inspecting the correct truck the same guy parked another rental truck behind me about one foot from me. When I returned the truck the next day Nick was there and there was a different employ was there that checked me in. Both Nick and the employ were professional and helpful.MICHAEL L.

This particular uhaul trailer was near the end of it's service life, so while the trailer was perfectly safe and functional, the aluminium was oxidized and the steel parts were rusting; this is not a good image for uhau l!!! Also there should be a company rule that ball hitches should get a squirt of grease or thin teflon or other lubrication before leaving the site. Maybe the couplers should have a teflon coating like a fry pan and so could the ball mount, no grease for people to apply or forget to apply, or those uninformed about towing to get upset about.James A.

The agent outside was overworked and in a hurry. There was NO WALKTHROUGH to inspect damage on truck, which I discovered once i took truck to my house. GUARANTEE NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT IS PRINTED ON! I am writing this review to comment on your storage location at Midgard Self Storage Lakewood Ranch, 10810 Internet Pl, Bradenton, FL 34211. Reserved a full-size van for 11/13/21. Went to location at the appointment time. Was advised that they did not have the van that I rented and paid to reserve. Was told by the Midgard Storage representative that U-Haul's failure to keep reservations is a WEEKLY occurrence at this location. Was transferred to a U-HAUL customer service representative, Kaitlyn, who said the best she could do was to give me a pick up truck for$.59/mi. at another location 25 minutes away. Kaitlyn said she could not honor U-Haul's $50 refund guarantee b/c they did not â€œcancelâ€ my reservation. I replied that they had affectively canceled my reservation by not having the vehicle that I paid to reserve having there at the designated time. Kaitlyn said that I had to speak with the manager, Oriel, who apparently was not on duty despite the fact that this was a Saturday and ostensibly one of their busiest rental days. I needed the truck, so went and got the pick up truck which did not meet my needs and required me to go purchase tiedowns to secure the material in the bed of the truck that I would not have needed if they had provided the van which I specifically reserved which they said they had available. Representatives at the 3602 14th St., West location were far more pleasant and professional. However, the pick up truck that I was given literally had significant dents or damage on every single side of the vehicle. U-Haul has gotten really cute in the past years putting the responsibility on customers to document damage to U-Haul's vehicle instead of U-Haul noting the obvious, significant damage on their own paperwork. Inside of the vehicle was very dirty and smelled of smoke. Overall, U-Haul made what should have been a relatively simple experience quite an ordeal. You have lost me as a customer. Now I understand why all of your reviews online are so terrible. The fact that this is a known problem at this location and that you continue to guarantee rentals only to have customers show up and not be able to rent what you have promised them and they have relied upon is the epitome of terrible customer service. I always get a chuckle when companies like yours treat customers so poorly and then have the audacity to ask for feedback. My feedback is this - the company does not keep its word, customer service representatives are less than helpful and not even apologetic, and U-Haul offers poorly maintained vehicles. By the way, I will be expecting my $50 refund per your website guarantee or I will be filing a complaint with the local Better Business Bureau as well as the Office of the Florida attorney general. I reserved a 15 ft truck at the location closest to my house 5 miles away. The fee for mileage was $.99 per mile so I expected no more that $11 for mileage since I was moving some furniture in the neighborhood. When I arrived at the pick up site the clerk stated they did not have my reservation and certainly did not have a truck for me but they did have it at another location an additional 7 miles away. So not only did it set me back in time because it was on the other side of town into the city and with traffic and the location unable to provide the truck I was set back my move time an hour with many people waiting at my house to assist me. I don't feel I should pay for the additional mileage as I would never have chosen that pick up site due to the distance and the expense. I hope this will be rectified and I do not recommend using uhaul as they are not accurate in providing the service you expect.Susan C.

The mileage cost at the end of the trip needs to stop. I paid approximately $140.00 to rent the truck and returned it full of gas, then I get charged another fee for mileage, ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! Trailer had broken glass all over the inside of it, if we had used the trailer we would have had to clean It up first. Trailer is advertised as 12x6 with a ramp. Was not aware that ramp opening was narrower than 6'. The opening was to narrow to fit the cart we rented the trailer to pick up. So took the trailer on a 4 hour round trip for nothing. Service onsite was excellent, they did a great job. Unhappy with overall experience though.JAMES W.

Went to drop off at the location that was recommended to me and she refused to take it because she didn't have room. When asked where to drop it off, she said she didn't know and walked away. I then spent a half hour trying to find a drop off location. When I called the 1-800 number, I was informed that they would call back in 15 minutes and I'm still waiting for a call back. I have use this location several times on one instance somehow someway they took the pin out of my hitch and everything dislocated and fell off into the road on another occasion I did not get the furniture dolly that I paid for and had to move heavy furniture with only two kids this last time again I did not get the furniture dolly and I had to move a couch by myself which was a double recliner extremely heavy ended up cutting my finger extremely deeply needless to say it took me a long time to be able to get that couch back off of the trailer to be able to reach someone by phone is absolutely impossible and ridiculous I am not satisfiedDanette C.

We moved to the area from Indiana, so we dropped off the rental truck & auto transport here. The employees were quick to acknowledge us & help us any way they could. We rented a storage unit here too. It was quick & easy to do, and the facility was very clean, inside & out. In my experience, this location was like a revolving door. This facility at 14th St W has too many rental trucks, trailers and other things parked around making it difficult to get around in the lot. There are only 4 access slots,1 is handicap, to get to the storage building. And sometimes the rental trailers are blocking or partially blocking access to those slots. All thought the facility is listed as 24 hour access, the storage facility is only accessible during the business hours for the truck rentals. Both times I have gone to access stuff into storage, I have had to go to the rental office wait in line and ask that the storage be opened as the access codes for the doors do not work. The office staff is less than happy about having to walk over to the storage to open it, the last time taking more than 30 minutes to come and open it.
