The trailer hook up experience was not what I am used to from this location. The young lady that waited on me was not completely knowledgeable on the process and left it up to me to do the majority of the connections. Upon arrival to my first stop, one of the safety chains had come loose. Also, the trailer I rented was parked in by another trailer and required us to move another one prior to departing. If she is unable to physically move the trailers and hook them up properly, then have someone else handle the trailer rentals.Bradley O.

This is the only Uhaul center that I rent from because of the friendly staff and the check in and check out is quick clean and hassle free. Wait time for service is usually minimal. I've probably rented a truck 5-6 times this year alone from this location. Very happy - I only wish that they had a loyal customer program with benefits where I could get points for discounts towards the vehicle rental, discount on the miles or free miles because I've rented vehicles so many times over the years from this same place. As a matter of fact we will be renting again next week 9/26 To move the rest of our furniture clothes and appliances.Angelia S.

Don't have people who have been bringing trailers back on time do a fricken goofy phone check out after hours. Just charge them if the equipment isn't there when opening the next morning. I was charged once for not figuring out the phone equipment check in after hours and the equipment was in their lot the whole time, which they could see in the morning. Terrible!Kevin D.

This Bolingbrook location is great. I have rented from them 5+ times, every time is a great U-Haul experience. There is a corporate concern I have about the policy of sticking a hand truck and package of blankets in the truck in 'pay if used' approach. I believe a very small % of renters would not see these rental options on the website or in person and choose to use them. For everyone else, you have put 2 significant obstructions right at the back gate during loading and unloading as well as taking up rented space. Out of step with the rest of the good UHaul rental experience, at least in my opinion. I asked the guy on site if he could remove them and he said he could. But at that point it would have been another wait as other customers were being served, I needed to get going, and the clock was ticking on my rental.Todd T.

This location was good but it was the rest of the experience with Uhaul was terrible. Waiting on hold every time I called in for at least up to 30 Minutes a time was horrible. They also told me I didn't need to bring anything for the hitch but needed to purchase a ball hitch that I already had but didn't bring over their advise. Also, not knowing where my trailer was going to be until 1 day before was not a great situation because it never felt like it was a certain thing and it felt like I could have been sent more than an hour away to pick up this thing. The one thing that this location could have done though is comp me for the hitch that I was never told I needed, but since it's a separate franchise (according to the workers At this location) it would have likely not have been comp'd but Uhaul.RYAN V.

When they need a COI for a move, provide it promptly instead of having the customer call customer service only to be bounced around from person to person because nobody knows what's going on. I actually had to call the corporate office for proper assistance. It made the move a nightmareAnita L.

After dropping off the auto trailer and truck, I was not asked to sign anything. I receive the receipt via email and find out that it was signed by not me or my friend (who drove). It is illegal for UHaul to sign a return that is not by the customer.Alex J.

The employee that checked my truck in after I got back told me I needed to sweep out the truck because he found a couple of screws and was going To charge me 25.00 he also said after I went and put gas in and filled it back to where I got it that itt wasn't enough and charged me another 24.00. I had my cousin take a picture of the tank gauge before and after to verify but unfortunately his phone died so I could prove I did up enough gas in. He told me to take it back to the gas station. Extremely poor customer service. I've used this location many times and he was the worst person I've felt with.Jennifer K.
Alignment on truck is off. I rented 2 dollys, only what comes with the truck was in the truck. I had to drive back to get 2nd Dolly, then I was billed for 3 dollys. Upon returning the truck, I told the guy checking me out that I didn't use the blankets or 2nd Dolly I was told he removed those from my bill. It wasn't. So I paid for blankets I didn't use and 2 dollys I didnt use. Use that extra $28 and get the alignment corrected.That's a safety issue for those who don't have experience driving a truck like that, especially in inclimate weather.David S.

I had reserved the truck several weeks in advance, at that time I saw 6 locations with the size truck I reserved in the town I lived and the closest was a few blocks away. the night before my pickup I was informed that the nearest truck was 50 MILES AWAY! this cause delays in an already very long move and added expenses as well. all I was given was some extra miles and an extra day with the truck (moving across country had us on a tight schedule so the extra day did not help much) and no discount despite the massive incontinence this caused and added expense such as additional gas. I know of family who have not been able to get a truck at all on the day they had it reserved for as will. Due to this I cannot see myself recommending UHaul to anyone or using the serves again unless I had no other option.Derek S.

The crew that picked up the U-Box, brought it to the home, and packed it, did an excellent job packing things. But the reservation was changed from south Chicago to Bolingbrook. I didn't know whether the moving help had been notified of that change, and on moving day, I had been told to expect the UBox about noon, and it arrived after 5 p.m. I called mid-afternoon to make certain it was still coming. So communication with the customer as schedules change, etc. is very important. Likewise, the UBox arrived at our home 2 days later than expected, and communication about this was sketchy. Finally, the website is impossible to use, and booked me for two different reservations despite my having received error messages at my end. It needs an overhaul. Start new. Do it better. I was also glad to see that the wooden UBoxes are being replaced with metal. I got a wooden one wrapped in canvas, and I don't know how it didn't fall apart in transit.Shawn K.

We were only one week into the new month, but I was unable to negotiate a refund for the remaining 3 1/2 weeks off the bill. I spoke with them well in advance. We hired moving helpers. I booked a U-Haul storage unit combined with renting a moving truck and trailer. However, when it came time to pay for the storage unit, the location changed to the wrong city. The first representative I spoke to said that I would have to drive to the other city to cancel the unit. The second representative I spoke to canceled the wrong location and left the contract open for the unit that I did not want. 1. I believe the cost was too high 2. I didn't like the reduced hours once I made an arrangement to settle and move out by a certain date. As a regular renter the access hours were fine, it was only after I made arrangements to move out that it appeared things were being made harder for me. I also didn't like that my daughters name was removed from the lease and she had to get a signature from me to move her things out of the storage unit. Some how I went from being a co-signer to being the only one on the lease and that should have never happened. I never received a call or notification of that and neither did my daughter. 3. I didn't like how the alarm went off each time when I opened my unit. This was even after I paid the settlement amount. 4. I didn't like the beat up latch on the unit that was like that when I moved in, it was always a struggle to unlatch the door to open the unit. I assumed that during my time renting, it would be switched out or repaired but it never was. They maintained the grounds but left broken latches in place. I noticed many other units with what appeared to be bent or beat up latches as well. This should be resolved. 5. I didn't like the LACK of DIVERSITY at this location. There are all types of people that live in Bolingbrook a suburb of Chicago one of the most diverse cities in this country but I saw SO diversity at this location (for 2 years) and I think it would have made a difference and would have been friendlier. In general I would look elsewhere before I rented from UHaul storage facility the next time.Helen J. | Overall Experience

Figured out side door access on our own including fact you have a to swipe first main door then go to side door to swipe again. Also 24hr access door needs to be fixed, can't open door easily (panic door hw constantly stuck). The access key card never worked. I took the card to the office on 3 different occasions to have it programmed. They gave me a new card and still never worked. We went during business hours and always had to tolerate the sound of the alarm when we opened the door to storage unit. The alarm is very obnoxious.Julie P. | Overall Experience
