The manager was really nice to have received my return, I went a couple of hours more than my intended return time and went beyond my mileage, but he was kind enough to not charge me extra and checked me out as quickly as he can. I was satisfied with the service at this location however my reservation at the original location was not met. I showed up but the truck I reserved was not there. Your Customer service department said the best they could do was to get me a truck for the next day at a different and much further away location for the next day. Interestingly enough, I needed my Uhaul hitch (that was installed at that very same location) removed to install the new one and was told there's not way that the hitch can come off my truck (which is all drop in bolt thru frame - not uni-body) and that 2 or more of the bots are stripped. I was actually told this and now I'm left to figure all of this out. It's interesting because no one and I mean no one has done anything to the hitch ever since I've owned the truck meaning the last people to touch the hitch was UHAUL. I don't understand how this is my situation to deal with when I didn't make the situation. Also, they never even tried to use a impact drill and only used hand tools which I'm sure contributed to the stripping of my bolts. Worst interaction and reason ever from any place.JASON S.

Great friendly pleasant easy to communicate with, very helpful, suggestive, understanding. I needed to rent truck longer than anticipated. Only question asked of me was â€œ Would you like to extend another dayâ€ ? â€œ Hey no problem it's done.â€ Very friendly family atmosphere. Once I returned the vehicle they even gave me a ride 8 miles to my destination. Other companies can learn from these people at this location in Bolingbrook Illinois on how to treat customers or employees. Treat them like family. Always wear a mask whether you believe in them or not. As a Courtesy to All others. Because you do not Know what someone else may be going through with their health on top of or before COVID. I booked a U-Haul storage unit combined with renting a moving truck and trailer. However, when it came time to pay for the storage unit, the location changed to the wrong city. The first representative I spoke to said that I would have to drive to the other city to cancel the unit. The second representative I spoke to canceled the wrong location and left the contract open for the unit that I did not want. Most of the staff was great. Had a bad experience with a lady there (forgot her name). The day we moved August 30th the elevators were broken and we had to move everything from a 3rd floor. It was very hot. Never received a call from management for a follow up. Not even a "hey we're so sorry for the inconvenience". Nothing. Juanita was extremely helpful and very nice. She carried the bundles of extra large boxes to my car. The elevator was out for a little over a week but was working on the last day when I closed my units on the 3rd floor. I returned the uhaul to the original location early, and within 24 hours of rental, and during business hours. .My credit card bill was charged over double my quoted amount, since the worker who unhooked the trailer from my vehicle never marked it returned, and I was charged for two days instead of one. They marked it returned one day late on August 16th, even though I returned it on August 15th at 4:30 pm. Now I am experiencing a virtual nightmare trying to get my overcharge back and credited to my credit card, since I am always on hold for seemingly forever when I call. I am trying to get my money back which was stolen from me by U Haul, and still have not received it. I will never use u-haul again, and will also go to the newspapers, if I don't receive my money back soon. I also deserve all of the money back and be given that rental for free to compensate me for all the time and aggravation trying to resolve u-hauls mistake. Uhaul should pay for their mistake, not me, by all my time and aggravation. Pathetic.Jeffrey S.

At 4:00 the day before my 9:00 pick up, a representative called and said my truck was not available to be picked up at my confirmed pick up location, I had to drive 6 miles further to pick up my truck. So I had to pay more money for the 6 miles more to drive, but didn't receive a credit for the expense or the inconvenience, and didn't have a choice so I had to agree to it. The app didn't work and had to go in to pick up keys and was told " the people before you had the same problem, must be something wrong with the app." I asked will there be a problem dropping off with the app, because I knew we would be dropping it off later that evening, said shouldn't, but will need to return thru the app, if not there would be a $20 charge, but if I call and return before the expiration time it would be refunded. Of course at 9:00 that night we returned it and the app wouldn't work, wasted 20 -30 min trying to get the app to work, finally gave up thru the keys in the box and left the truck. At 6:00 A.M. the next morning I received my invoice with the $20 charge, my truck was not due back until 9:00 a.m. that morning. I returned it 12 hours early and received a charge for $20, 3 hours before it was due!!! Seriously??? My husband went to the Uhaul facility and spoke to a girl about the $20 charge, and she said you didn't return it thru the app and he told her it wouldn't work. After a lot of attitude from her, we received the $20 credit back. It is your app that didn't work for the pick up or drop off, and we were charged and had to fight to get the $20 back!! To have to deal with attitude to get our $20 back, that shouldn't have been charged at all!! To be charged $20 extra for returning the truck 12 before it was due and to be charge the fee 3 hrs before the truck was due back. And to call me 15 hrs before pick up and tell me I had to drive further to pick it up and drop it off, and on top of that to charge me milage for the extra miles that I didn't want to drive!!!! Way to much hassle and aggravation to deal with!! And to get attitude!!! Will not recommend Uhaul to anyone and I don't have a problem sharing my experience with anyone who ask and with those who don't ask.WILLIAM B.

I booked the truck for 24 hours on the website. When I picked up the truck the local rep asked me if I could return the truck by 9 AM the next day, about 4 or 5 hours early. I said I would try. I ended up dropping the truck off late the evening before and this location charged me an additional $20 for a late night drop off. This is a "truck share" 24 hour rental and there should not be late night fees. Plus, I did them a favor by dropping it off earlier than I needed to so they didn't need to rebook the next customer. 1. I believe the cost was too high 2. I didn't like the reduced hours once I made an arrangement to settle and move out by a certain date. As a regular renter the access hours were fine, it was only after I made arrangements to move out that it appeared things were being made harder for me. I also didn't like that my daughters name was removed from the lease and she had to get a signature from me to move her things out of the storage unit. Some how I went from being a co-signer to being the only one on the lease and that should have never happened. I never received a call or notification of that and neither did my daughter. 3. I didn't like how the alarm went off each time when I opened my unit. This was even after I paid the settlement amount. 4. I didn't like the beat up latch on the unit that was like that when I moved in, it was always a struggle to unlatch the door to open the unit. I assumed that during my time renting, it would be switched out or repaired but it never was. They maintained the grounds but left broken latches in place. I noticed many other units with what appeared to be bent or beat up latches as well. This should be resolved. 5. I didn't like the LACK of DIVERSITY at this location. There are all types of people that live in Bolingbrook a suburb of Chicago one of the most diverse cities in this country but I saw SO diversity at this location (for 2 years) and I think it would have made a difference and would have been friendlier. In general I would look elsewhere before I rented from UHaul storage facility the next time.Helen J. | Overall Experience
