team member that helped us was very rude.. i am guessing we were bothering him by renting a uhaul. i will rent a uhaul again but different location. this man needs not be in customer service. i had questions and he answered 2 with a sharp no then said thank you, next in line! wow okay..jeffery D.
Outline charges before imposed or after the fact. Inform customer if the person's new location is within UHaul service area and whether the customer must drive 50 miles to collect contents. Shoddy operation from beginning to end: the company, not the customer, is always right. 130.00 for storage when local storage facilities charge 45.00. Almost 3,000.00 to transport small box from Oregon to Wisconsin. Never again.David B.

I struggled with the key compartment after hoursâ€¦ended up having to drop the keys off in a general key drop box. I felt bad but I tried for over 10 minutes and couldn't get the combination lock to release. Picked up the vehicle on Saturday and returned to the Baraboo location Saturday night around 7pm. I was told to have the vehicle to the drop off spot by 10am Sunday per my contract. I used the night drop box and left the truck in line Saturday night. Sunday I received an email stating I had been charged a $20 after hours fee. This charge was never mentioned when I picked up the vehicle. I'll be calling to dispute this charge.Travis W.

Initial info visit done several days before my rental was great. Derek was knowledgeable and very helpful. Drop off staff had a bit of an attitude. I arrived at 6:35pm to drop trailer. Closing time 7pm. First staff out the door (Bobby) not very pleasant. First words out of his mouth; "Why are you here?" "Should have waited until tomorrow to return." He had me checked in at 6:40p and I left the parking lot at 6:48p after placing trailer where he wanted it. Plenty of time to finish his shift and close up the location. I reserved a specific truck in Madison, but was sent to Baraboo WI incurring many many extra dollars in mileage fees. I believe U-Haul is a scam. I should have paid $5 in mileage not $50 based on my reservationWilliam N.

I requested my pick up and drop off to be in Portage,WI? When I asked to get it changed from Baraboo, WI I was told that I would get additional charges due to an in-town rental. I relayed again that I live in Portage, WI and I requested the P/U and drop off in Portage,WI that's why I requested an in-town rental. It was a pain and I would not recommend your service or company. It was a difficult process for something that should have been easy and straight forward. Very disappointed.Anthony S.

Overall, my experience was okay. But U-Haul corporate policy was not consumer friendly. While my vehicle was too small to haul a double U-Box trailer for my extended drive, when I attempted to have a second driver & vehicle added to make things faster, I was told that it was "against policy". When it's a 2 hour drive one way and you are told that you cannot do anything to make the move more efficient. It leaves a sour feeling about the process and how you spent your money.Joshua B.

This was the second time I rented from this location. The first time the girl changed our reservation to another trailer and it turned out it was the wrong trailer. Had to then go to Madison to pick up the 6x12 with ramp which was what I scheduled in the first place. Took us of schedule and very behind where we ended up hitting a ton of bad weather. The second time I got the right trailer but they neglected to inform me the trailer ramp gets stuck and has had issues for a while. It took us over 20 minutes to work the peg out of the right side when we went to load and another 20+ when we went to unload. When I reported to the girl when I dropped off she said we've known about that issue. I asked why I wasn't told. She didn't respond. Also when I returned the trailer she was outside working on something outside and made us waiting over 10 minutes until she completed it. Then made us sit there while she cleaned the trailer and checked everything over so we could then move it for them. Never have I been made to sit and wait while they cleaned a rental. I had my 93 year old grandfather in my car with me. She wasn't very polite or friendly. The day before when I picked up she was washing her car in between customers so I guess that's how the customer service is there at that location. Overall, it was very disappointing in the communication and the condition of the equipment you're renting. Very dissatisfied and will no longer rent from that location and possibly at all. Shouldn't require me 40+ minutes of my time to get the ramp door down. That is something they knew and did nothing about.Jean P.

Staff were friendly and helpful at the Baraboo store. I booked the storage unit on line as I wasn't aware the store provided this service. I selected a 5x10x10 unit as it said it would accommodate 1-2 bedroom apartment. I had only 1 mattress 2bedroom sets, dining table and chairs which was broken down sofa and 2 end tables, small microwave and it wouldn't fit. I had to request a larger unit which wasn't available. The staff worked we me to find an additional 5x5 unit to accommodate all my things. It was a hassle and delayed the move. More accurate advertising would be helpful. I may have missed the documentation on how to get in and out, but I was able to figure out to disable the alarm and then check in to access the doorway. Check in/out signage is misleading as trying to check out just said welcome authorized to enter. Enabling the alarm stated something congrats, alarm set, your checked out. So I hope everything I did was ok. Overall great experience. Even reached the general manager by phone last night as the entrance door was started by an individual to be stuck open. Ray is the WORST general manager I have ever dealt with. He thinks he's God of uhaul. My car was broke into while I was there and the cameras were NOT working. Ray didn't see this as an issue because the police caught the guy the next day. He refused to accept my free month certificate stating they were full so at this time not taking them even though it was still posted in store. Then classrooms it was at his discretion. Also due to problem with my daughter who rented a unit there he restricted my access. I then cleaned out my unit and he refused to give me back my month and some of rent I was due. He claimed he didn't kick me out so therefore he didn't have to vibe me any money back. Yet my restricted access only allowed me into the unit for 30 minutes 2 times a day once I signed in. He kicked my daughter out have us limited time to get her stuff out of the unit and told me that I was on a do not rent to list due to my association with my daughter but still wouldn't refund my money for my. unitLynnette A. | Overall Experience

I recommend posting the process at the site instead of just saying go to the website. We had an issue with the website and after a long wait time the first person answering couldn't assist and transferred us for another hour wait for a person that was NOT helpful either. We used it for only one month so not a lone enough time to give a fair critique........however, at the end the management made a near wrong RIGHT and that was kind of them......I am trusting that in the future, when in emergency situations like ours, that they will be MORE clear so that those NEAR ERRORS can be averted..........We only stored one bed for less than one month by a day and that is where the near problem came in......So, Ray, thank you for caring more for the customer AND THEIR situations and concerns than for the almighty dollar.
