The vehicle I was given had a sign for rentals in the windshield. Then the front tire was low and there was an engine light on. Also when I went to return the vehicle, I waited about 10 minutes or so and it was pouring rain. I eventually just did the self return.KIMBERLEYANN B.

Didn't like the idea of uploading my drivers license to Uhaul. I feel this is an unnecessary risk of personal information that Uhaul will be responsible for should something occur. I think verifying I.D. In person should be sufficient. Otherwise experience was good.Craig L.

It was not a good day yesterday. I rented a pick up truck and trailer. The trailer is clearly advertised as a 6x12 trailer, but the opening to load material is slightly more than 4 feet or so. I could not get my lawn tractor on the trailer because the size of the opening is not advertised clearly. Also the truck I rented smelled bad, and the front window had a haze of dirt on the inside. Needless to say UHAUL charged my credit card for the use of the truck and kilometers. I really did not dispute these charges, because I was told there was fine print somewhere that indicted the size of the opening to the trailer. I spoke to the manager and who showed little understanding and could only say over and over again, UHAUL does this on purpose to avoid large equipment being loaded on the trailer and damaging the trailer. I have a suggestion - clearly advertise the size of the trailer loading area. Your customer time is available and charges were administered for incomplete services.Roy M.

Employees were fantastic. One criticism is the pickup process. I was unable to pickup my truck at the time I specified due to the online pickup system. I was not able to select pickup my truck and due to this was an hour delayed until an employee showed up an hour before opening and was able to help me get the process completed. Within 6 weeks the price rose over three times the amount I paid for my first trailer, and the fact it was during a pandemic when most people lost their jobs you GOUGED people out of hundreds of dollars is disgusting. Consider other options for customers who do not want to use credit card to hold the amount for the reservation, because even if debit is paid at the end, customer's are still charged the interest of the hold. Recommend providing snow removal tools for moving vehicles. It was snowing today and there weren't any in the van. I took the ones in the lot but apparently wasn't supposed to. I haven't actually been able to get a a chance to fully move in my unit due to not having my password work for 24 hour access ( even though I have paid for this service for the extra ten dollars per month. The gentlemen signing me in was saying he didn't know much about the reasons why he was not successfully getting into the place under my account for registration reasons and that he would fix it in mornjg and email me the information... The staff and management was great. However it should be noted that the booking process is frustrating. I had reserved a 5x5x7 unit which was $99 a month and met my needs. Someone from uhaul (can't recall the name) called to confirm that I still needed the unit, I confirmed I did and was told a unit would be available. When I arrived on Saturday oct 31 for my check in I was told the unit I had reserved was not available and I'd have to take a larger more expensive unit. This is a bit of a bait and switch from a customer stand point. Again, no fault of the staff, but this should be something that's ironed out from a customer experience standpoint on the website to allow for only what's available to be booked or reserved. I'd rather get the value for what I'm paying for rather than be told I have to take a more expensive unit or find another location all together.Ryan E. | First Impressions

Staff are not very friendly or helpful . The manager is very rude and makes no accommodations of any sort. They do not have prorated rates and if u need to move out early this is very inconvenient. Late charges were also charged to my card because someone forgot to put the card number on file, when I tried discussing this with the managers for months all she did was send me generic emails including the extra charges on the bill. I reserved a unit in early September for the end of September. When my reservation date was nearing I needed to complete my rental contract and wanted to do that online. One of the reasons why I selected U-Haul was because they said that you could complete the rental of the unit online, which was important to me as I was out of the country and could not do it in person. I tried completing it via the website on my desktop, on my mobile, I downloaded the app, I checked every page, clicked on every link. I could not find where I could complete my rental. I wrote several emails to the customer service, who were not helpful. One sent me a link to an internal, employee page on uhaul.net when I asked for instructions on completing the rental online. Eventually when I got a hold of someone on the phone at the storage unit facility (the first time I got transferred to the generic 1-800 number, and that person couldn't help me) they told me that the unit I had reserved was not available and that was probably why I could not complete my rental online. I then had to take a larger unit than I needed and pay more money than I budgeted because by that time I had no choice. So what is the point of reserving a unit if it does not mean the unit is actually RESERVED? I would rather pay a downpayment to hold a unit in advance than to be told on the day I am ready for it that it's not available. What is the point of a reservation?? And on top of that, no indication whatsoever on my reservation that the unit was not available, so that I could at least look somewhere else or at another location if possible. We were not told about the free first month for storage. Less than a week after renting the storage unit we were locked out for non payment. After standing in line for 20 minutes we were told the lock would be removed, never received an apology for the inconvenience.
