There is a girl who works customer service at the desk inside the Ajax location, She has a very sour attitude. Reason I'm saying this is because friday we go into location and I didn't know that this uhaul had changed the way you have to reserve trucks. Another older lady was very helpful and when it got to us grabbing the keys the older lady goes. " oh just go grab the keys on the wall" so that what I started doing. The younger lady with spacers in her ears goes " you need to stay on this side of the table, you can't just grab the keys" well only reason I was doing so is because the other employee told me so. We walk outside to grab our truck, and we noticed that we didn't have our trolley we paid for. So I went back inside and the girl with the spacers in her ears goes. Well it should be there. For 1 how would I know it should be there, do I work for uhaul do I keep tabs on all equipment that comes in and out of your location. She honestly has a sour attitude and needs to be talked to. I seen how she was talking with other customers. I work retail too it sucks sometimes but if your face and tone of voice is showing you're frustrated then your going to come off as standoffish Which she totally was.

I had a big complaint about the unfair extra charges that was levied on me. I received a generic response to my initial complaint submission which was entered on my behalf by a Uhaul customer service rep over the phone. The rep informed me that since tshe only had limited space to write up my complaint, she basiclly only opened a file for me assuring me that I will get ample opportunity to explain my case after I get contacted by a supervisor. Thereafter I got a response/ decision which did not consider or addressw my legitimate actual challenge to the extra charge.. I duly responded explaining in detail my case however I have not received any response and was completely ignored. I am a loyal regular customer for over 12 years and I am truly hurt and disappointed

The Uhaul App needs to be fixed, I was able to sign on but the page to assign the keys for the unit didn't load and a CSR had to assist at the counter. A big THANK YOU TO MIRA, upon my return with the equipment she checked it and assured me that everything was in order.

The worst experience ever renting my U-Haul truck I had my U-Haul truck rented for 10:30am I get there to do the online check-in mobile it tells me I don't have a rental. I have to wait on hold for over an hour to find out the keys for the truck stolen. Then I have to find a new truck. I already paid for the moving crew U-Haul from 11:30 to 2:30 by the time I got there after getting my truck was 2:00 And nobody is willing on reimbursing me for the mess up that was made that I paid the moving crew for the time to help me unload my storage unit and get it in my house. I had to do that all by myself to get in my house, not happy at all.

To begin with Self pick up had issues as there was not truck assigned by the store; called customer service they arranged to assign a truck but changed my reservation from one-way to in town without letting me know. The truck was end of life too - it made constant noise while driving on highway, Fuel economy was horrible ~2kms/Ltr. Also, while dropping off my issue wasn't resolved as the staff did not clear out billing issue. Overall Horrible experience.

Using the app to pick up the vehicle was super long and tedious. After all of the clicking, data input etc., I still had to go inside the location to get the keys. Why not do it all inside?

Get rid of the app program especially for business hours. First of all I shouldn't be forced to install an app on my phone if I don't want to, I'm not a fan of apps and don't like so many on my phone. Also it took so much time to get it installed and done at the location that I almost walked out. The staff were a bit busy and for me to try and get their attention to help with the app was frustrating. Also when doing the app inspection and a walk through its useless because the picturs on there were hard to see. Also when I got the truck back, I got frustrated that I was sitting in the truck trying to sign it back in with the app and everytime there's a mistake I have to start over. Then I got more frustrated that there was someone outside that's said they so the retuen process for me. So why do the retuen process for me but can't do the check in process? This is the most stupidest thing I've ever dealt with. I told one of the staff rentals that I've never done this and she said all places arw like that. Sorry they're not, home depot isn't and when I rent cars at the airpot it isn't. Even the airpot if I check in to a vehicle on line, someone is doing the rest when I show up. For someone who's pretty good at technology, I found it very annoying, frustrating and a waist of my time. I can only imagine if someone like my dad or someone else doing it that's not too good at phones and how hard that would be for them. Was there any thought put into this? THE MOST FRUSTRATING WAS WHEN I WAS TOLD BY STAFF THAT IF I DON'T HAVE AN APP INSTALLED TO DO THIS THEN THERE'S NO TRUCK RENTAL. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! This process instead of having positive reaction to staff I had to waist my time Figuring it out on my phone and because of that, I'll most likely never rent a uhal truck again. I'll go to home depot or another place....

The customer service was amazing. I was in and out in literally 90 seconds. They thanked me for using U-Haul, asked if I had any questions, told me that I would have an emailed receipt in 2 minutes, and wished me a great day. All with a smile. Service is below par. Borderline rude. The van was fine, etc etc. computers are down…all the staff giggling in th back room instead of taking care of returns. Cashier wins Super-Snark of the year Award (think Dr Seuss). The location is convenient…the vehicles are fine. I'm sure they're trying their best. 

A terrible experience with this truck. Very very heavy on fuel. Not so good transmission of the truck. Lot of items having corroded parts amd marks on body. Probably the truck needs replacement.

The trailer was very clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. The rental was ready on time and quickly received upon return. The only disappointment was mechanical. The rear access door needs to be lubricated as is was VERY difficult to slide, and while towing, it had a distinct vibration likely wheel bearing related. I dispatched Roadside Assistance but the attendant was unfamiliar with the trailer mechanism and provided no help. Trailers should be road tested before being rented to the next customer. I did make the receiving agent aware of the issues so they could be rectified before next rental.

Not expect people to have a mobile phone in order to complete your registration process. I was told at the counter that I needed to use my own phone to take a picture of my drivers license. Should you not have technology on site to do this on your own and not depend on someone to have $1000 device and a $50 plan just so you can not spend money on your technology. I understand if providing the option, but it shouldn't be mandatory.

My journey with uhaul started August 22,2024 with a rental 5X8 trailer on a one way to oshawa in which i booked in advance and i was given the offer of a month free rental storage unit. When i was ready to pick up trailer there was none available of course i was notified of this at the last minute and i was then told that if i wanted a trailer it could only be a the one under a 5x8 and i would have to pick it up in either bellville or brockville which was obviously not at all convient as i said this was told to me very last minute, the lady i spoke with on the phone had know care in the world it was not her problem, being that moving is already a stressful time and i had booked this well in advance i was very upset,and also due to the fact iwas going to be a month later renting another trailer from uhaul to relocate out of province so good money i am spending at uhaul. I had to then rent a truck 10x? in which i had to arrange someone to drive my car as i had to now drive the truck another inconvience. this was all from the Kingston location and i believe your scheduling department in Ottawa. Once getting to storage which was farther then oshawa another inconvience as they had lnow storage so off to Ajax i had to go. Once at Ajax i put my things in storage and booked a one way 5x8 trailer for my next move to Nova Scotia, i had to leave my things in storage a few days longer then expected a few days and they then charged me for a whole month which was 190.00 dollars, so now i have paid more for a truck because there was know trailer which was booked ahead and now i am paying for a month extra for keeping my things in storage a few days longer in which i notified them in advance of that as well. So was my service good at a very stressful time, i am pretty sure you can figure out that know not at all, were the people at the counter at the ajax facility nice yes but with no alternatives or care how much more i spent or all the inconviences uhaul created for me, the communication within uhaul is horrible, and customer service is the worst as a good paying customer with a big move i was not impressed i think compensation should have giving to me in this whole ordeal. The equipment was clean, but in my opinion, not well maintained. In my return routine using the U-Haul app, I recommended service to the vehicle, specifically, a front-end steering alignment. This is a big vehicle. At highway speed, the fluttering of the steering wheel becomes quite a chore and a distraction.

Punati from the scheduling and changes depart of east end is a legend! She is a great prospect for U-Haul for greater roles - I always rented the moving trucks with U-Haul and has it pretty much an annual thing for me. I must say Punati was professional, patient, and very considerate. Saleq at Ajax U-Haul location was also very helpful, patience, professional and considerate. They both have won my trust with U-Haul for future. I have had bad previous experiences with how the customers are spoken with, the dominant voice and sarcastic responses. I think these two are GEMS.

There was a specific worker at this location I cannot remember his name but I believe he's a manager and it starts with a "T" he's also a manager there. He was extraordinary. He went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied and it does not go unrecognized I appreciated everything he did to make my experience a good one.

I am one payment behind because I had to go on unplanned LTD. My pay dropped considerably but I stayed with UHAUL over 5 years. I feel the penalties for late payments are ridiculously high and the letter sent out threatening to taking your belongings is extremely upsetting, especially for someone like me who suffers with severe mental and medical ailments. Remember your dealing with some people who are depressed and suicidal. I would appreciate ifsomeone from head office can call me at 416 885 9104 asap so I can elaborate on the effects on me and get some reassurance rather than multiple, very negative letters, via mail and email several times a week.

You need to put signage in front of the loading/unloading to prevent people from parking there all day. It's unnaceptable that I bring my 15' U-Haul on My scheduled moving day and there's a bunch of sedans parked directly infront of the unloading area preventing me from parking my vehicle and making unloading somewhat easy. Other than that my experience was great the guy at the counter was very helpful and allowed me to pull my truck up onto the grass as no spots were available to park. Please correct this or you will have many unsatisfied customers and possible vandalism issues at hand.

Even though the place was clean and all that, the service was HORRIBLE! I was called the day before my move out of city to be told that I had to return the truck within 24 hours. Ajax storage was actually able to extend it to 48 hours, but the traffic on the way back to the unit on Saturday took three hours to get through, then three hours to get back home That was a six hour waste of time after a full day of unloading a truck When I asked, for some sort of compensation, Kim sent me an email saying that "my invoice was correct and nothing was going to be done for the inconvenience" I hope that I never move again as U-Haul added so much stress to my moving day that I would rather pay a Moving Company, then go with U-Haul ever again

Staff on reception at the time of receiving keys for storage was somewhat not cooperative, stating strict unfriendly policies rudely. I had to mentioned about the info conveyed to me while reserving the unit. At the end, staff said they are giving me an exception this time, I didn't argue much to save my time.

It would be nice to have lighting in the storage unit. When the storage unit was full it was hard to find things because of poor lighting in the unit.

This is the third time I've had to use this storage facility and each time was greeted by friendly understanding staff.They were efficient and available to help with just a phone call !The unit was clean and dry and my valuables were kept extremely safe .Please keep up your very high standards especially where your staff is concerned ! Nice facility but pricing on storage units are incredibly high. Not to mention a trailer from U Haul that is only 4 by 6 is close to 2 grand. Not very affordable for anyone moving and wanting to downsize.

I waited 2 hours to get in because elevator was out of service. My moving guys ditched me. I am a tenant there and i deserve a 24 - 48 hours notice in my email for elevator servicing. Glad i terminated my lease

We had a difficult time accessing thr sliding doors at the location after hours. Looks like I needed a card that I didn't have so it caused a bit if frustration but we were able to use the door. Next time I'll call and let you know in advance that I plan to access storage after hours
