Nothing! I don't remember her name but the GM helped us and she was FANTASTIC!!! My elderly father hauled a Uhaul trailer from that B'ham location to San Antonio. The GM was patient with us, explained everything really well and went above and beyond to make sure my Dad was all set and ready to haul that trailer. Even when my elderly mother had her classical music playing loudly in the car & couldn't figure out how to turn it down - and we all had to yell to hear each other when we were having to give/hear instructions to hook up the trailer hahaha. I truly appreciate all the GM's help! There were other staff members that also assisted (one guy came to help hook up & another very nice lady checked me out when I ran back inside to buy a lock). They were ALL so courteous and kind. I'll recommend Uhaul and that B'ham location to everyone I know!Samuel H.

mobile reservation did not work, so we had to do it all in person after we already did online reservation took forever called today to check on charges and had to wait on hold over 15 minutes -- then they told me I did not check out properly so was charged even though we did it by phone/mobile got charged fee for "not checking out" although we checked out on the mobile app so way overcharged for rental on 11/20/22 can you correct this please?????? They were very argumentative and not willing to help unhook the trailer. Other locations have a drop off spot and someone comes and unhooks the tailor. I dropped it off in what looked like the drop off area. Someone came yelling ate me saying they were going to charge me extra and would not acknowledge that I returned the trailer early/on time. My storage unit was locked within 20 days of me moving in due to an employee failing to put my rental in the system although I had a physical contract. Even after verifying that I was occupying the unit, an employee still failed to update the information which resulted in my not being able to access my belongings. Even after they realized it was an error in their behalf, the manager called me later that day to tell me it will be a lock placed back on my unit due to a balance of over 1k even though I had only occupied the unit for 20 days and the 1st payment was not yet due. She hung up in my face after telling me I had an attitude with her about MY belongings. They realized it was THEIR error again and the manager argued with me on the phone for 30. I immediately got in touch with the area president who immediately saw it was their error and did not understand why the manager would be callling me at all. The employees are 100% incompetent, unprofessional, and have no desire to learn the systems to work effectively for the customer. Would not recommend this locations.Anyia K. | First Impressions

Nothing. I found everyone extremely polite and helpful. The manager at the Ubox center in Birmingham was great. She took her time to explain the entire process, start to finish. She even provided me with contact information for the final destination Ubox center in ABQ. Both drivers in Pelham and ABQ were very nice and extremely competent. They went out of there was to make sure my property was protected and were very informative. I'm thankful for all the Uhaul staff.Jeff G.
I rented a trailer for 4 days (9/22/22 through 9/25, 2022). The rental itself was perfectly fine and all went well. The problem came once I returned the trailer. I returned the trailer to the exact location where I picked it up. I spoke with an employee who was working there and asked if that was ok which she stated was perfectly fine. She took my paperwork and I was told all was fine, she would check it in and she didn't need anything else. I asked if she needed anything else, look at the trailer etc to which she stated she had everything she needed. A few days later the final charge (around $118.00) posted on my account. I thought we were finished. No worries. Then, over the next two to three weeks, on two separate occasions, I received a text saying "return the trailer. It's been reported stolen". Both times I contacted the UHaul office with the same day about the text and was told, both times, it was sent by accident and that, again, all is fine. This is where the problem comes. On or about 9/28/22, I received a text about the new rental I reserved for 9/28/22 through 10/6/22 (or thereabouts). I called and was told it was, AGAIN, a mistake. What the hell is going on here? I took her explanation and moved forward thinking it was, in fact, a mistake. Upon checking my bank statement, I saw a second charge around 10/8/22 for this 8 day rental which I did NOT make. That's a fraudulent charge and had to have been initiated and made on my debit card. WHY???? I was debited 194.02 for that. I returned to the store and after 20 minutes and no real explanation, my $194.03 was 'refunded'. As you know, your policy allows you an absurd amount of time to actually make the deposit and it post to my account as a credit. As of today, I still do not have $194.02 back in my account. This has caused me to be hit with overdraft charges and a negative balance ALL caused by this. I am beyond shocked at this second charge. Some of us call that STEALING but I digress. Your contract clearly states that your final charge for a rental will not post to your bank account in until the rental property is returned and inspected and signed off on as 'undamaged' (for lack of a better word). . That said, MY rental was concluded/completed/ended upon the charge on my account around 9/26/22. Why is your store allowing fraudulent activity to be initiated and promulgated on your customers??? This has been a cluster@#+&. I will not ever again rent from UHaul. The operation I dealt with is a damn joke.Browne L.

I have used Uhaul for over a decade as a loyal customer, and this experience at Uhaul was by far the worst. The staff did not take time to explain important details of the agreement and were more concerned with their plans outside of work. The management team was very unprofessional and unsympathetic to concerns I had regarding the rental as well as dismissive. There a plenty of Uhaul options in Birmingham, I recommend any other location outside of Uptown.Ashton M.

Location was fine. What wasn't fine was the ridiculous amount of time I had to spent waiting to get my truck when I chose mobile pick up when I reserved. The mobile pick up clearly doesn't even exist because you have to wait in line for 30 minutes behind other people just to get the keys. So stop lying and giving people the impression they can just grab the truck & go because that's so not true! Just he honest in your business and people will be more satisfied in general. Also, have the clerk change verbiage to ask you to verify the payment you've already made, rather than "now you need to pay".. cuz, I'd already paid and she kept insisting I needed to pay? I then had to hook up with no help. I received no safety inspection, no walk around, and was very disappointed with trailer. Signed up for 24/7 service and the app would not work. App told me to return at 7am when the branch opened, returned and the branch didn't open until 9am. Was â€œhelpedâ€ by an employee who didn't know what she was doing and the other employee was not helpful/kept dismissing me when I tried to explain what happened the night prior. After 30 mins, the employee gave me keys to a truck that was down the street, it turned out to be a 26' truck, but I ordered a 15'. Had to walk back and was given another key to a truck she pointed out in the front of the buildingâ€"it was the wrong key. Walked back and got another key, that truck's battery was dead. I spent over $100 in Ubers and cancelations (I had movers scheduled, but had to constantly reschedule due to Uhaul not being on top of things). Received a bill on Monday saying I dropped the trailer off after hours on Sunday. Called the store and they hung up. Office staff were fairly helpful. Units felt like they were in a safe environment. But when it comes to the actual units, I cannot provide any positive feedback. Unit is marketed as climate controlled but is basically at the same temperature and humidity as the outdoors during the summer. We also had water damage in our unit which led to mold on several books and textbooks. Try to charge you extra for anything. Don't supply things that were ordered. Acted like they couldn't rent a truck out when they had 4, had no problem reserving one online and walked right back in. Was mad I was 15 minutes late and still had 3 trucks left. Trying to charge me for storage when I moved out of my unit 1 day after payment was due and did notify them of my intention of moving out and rented the truck from them but won't cancel my unit so they can try and get more money out of me. I was over charged when a team member made a mistake. U-Haul would not take responsibility. When I asked to fix the mistake team members were rude. I saw a rat in storage facility. First time using any kind of storage facility. They didn't make it easy to understand nor were they helpful in their description of what to do or where to go. The Staff, particularly Paul Barnett & the manager lady were rude and threatening and not helpful or willing to help. They insisted that they could not and would not help me.
