The front tires were bald and I had a blow out because of that. If you are going to rent vehicles you have to make sure they are safe and you maintain safe equipment. The manager has never called after requesting twice. Also, the roadside assistance is terrible. You are expecting it to function higher than it is capable. It got my information incorrect and the guy changing the tire had to call for the correct information. Terrible service and I still had to pay for gas and miles I shouldn’t have had to use because of the three hour delay which didn’t allow me to unload until the next morning.

My issues have nothing to do with the staff that served me. My issues are the 10 foot truck not having a ramp and the van for a 1 way rental going almost 700 miles without cruise control. This might be nit picky on my part, but a stereo with Bluetooth would've made my 9 hour drive a lot better.

There were several concerns about the experience. The biggest one was that I was unable to get the return fee waived or even reduced. My issue is I picked up a toy hauler with a Chevy traverse. After picking up I didn’t feel like it was safe for either your equipment or mine to drive back to East Peoria to return it. When I asked to do a switch out or reduction in price since I had it less than an hour. I want to be very clear the girl that I worked with was very nice and showed high levels of customer service and empathy. She made the call to ask for approval which was denied. I spoke the agent on the phone directly. For a district manager they were very black and white and did not show any understanding. I’m also a district manager in the travel industry, can tell this group values profits over service. Therefore a 1/5 for upper management and 5/5 for the branch level.

I have rented trucks form U-Haul several times, but this was the worst truck I have ever rented. The passenger side from wheel was so bald, the belt was show through. The alignment was so off, the steering wheel was never straight in order to keep the truck straight. Luckily, I only had to drive the truck a total of 8 miles. It definitely would not have been safe to drive for a distance.

The van I had was terrible. Noisy and I think the part of that noise was the transmission going out. The transmission dip stick had no fuild on the end when I checked it while it was hot. If I rent a u-haul again I will definitely test drive it before taking it.

The room I was given was already taken. My code was not working and the manager Andrew had to come 3 times. He got me another unit but my code was not working so we had to put all of our things in another storage unit that was too small and a lot of my things got broken. We were there for over 3 hours and I had to get out of my home before midnight and the manager was taking his sweet time and stated it was not his problem. So yesterday, we had to go back and move all of the things again from the first floor to the second where my storage unit is.

Firstly, my star rating is not about this location nor the people working there. This is about my pickup experience, which is not the fault of this location or these people. There is no other place to rate the experience. I reserved at 15' truck from a different location as a one-way rental. As I was reserving, I was offered to save $100 by driving the truck to a different drop off point, about 30 minutes further from where I was moving items. Sure, I'll save some money. So I had a price of $301 (including some SafeMove insurance). I was then called 2 days before my pickup and told they didn't have 15' trucks in the area available. They were upgrading me to a 26' truck at no extra cost. Ok, but I didn't want something that big. Then I was told I had to pick it up from this location, further from my house, less convenient. I come in to pick it up, and they pull up my reservation, and scan my ID, and then tell me I have to pay $509. Over $200 more than I was given as the price. I said no. They told me they couldn't fix it in store, and I had to call the 1-800 number. Ok, I, as the renter, shouldn't have to do this to fix it, but whatever. I call, and the person I spoke with on the 1-800 number said she didn't understand the price difference, as she could see the $301 price on her end. She offered to have me pre-pay with her, and then I could just get the truck and go. I kept her on the phone until I could get back to the front of the line again. I did, and the people at this location (I had multiple helping me now) assured her and I that it was all good, so she ended the call. Well, too soon, it turns out. As they got further into the "dispatching" it now was saying it saw my pre-payment, but now I had to pay $289 MORE!!! They couldn't figure it out. The assistant manager couldn't. She called the manager who was off shift at this point. He came BACK to this location and tried, but ran into the same issue. He called the 1-800 number, and they STILL couldn't get it figured out. Finally he got the approval to get me in the truck and leave, but it was still up in the air how it was being "dispatched". OVER 2 HOURS LATER, I WAS FINALLY LEAVING. I had people in town waiting for me to show up with this truck to move things locally too. Something that should not have taken more than a half hour was almost 5 times longer. UNACCEPTABLE. Again, not the fault of these people at this location, but apparently the system that kept adding random costs to this rental. SO PAINFUL.

This is truly the best U-haul location I have ever done business with. I have been renting from them for many years, for myself, and for when I needed to help my kids with their many moves through college and beyond. Always efficient, friendly, and responsive to whatever you need. Their store is clean and always fully stocked with absolutely anything and everything you need for a move, and the prices are reasonable.

It was very hard to get inside of the gate. They could not get the code to work correctly for me. Also, they gave me a storage that was already in use and took forever to give me another storage. I literally just had to pick my own and let them know what number I chose because customer service was not acting quickly or anything. I was stuck there for over 30 minutes just waiting alone.

I got charged a whole month of storage when I just needed it for 2 extra days. When I moved out of said storage I went into the building to tell them and they never did anything. I called multiple times, emailed and used the app to try to process my move out. My assigned unit was missing hardware for the latch so I called the office and they were quick to help assign me a new one. Unfortunately the door to the new one was half open, and inside there were a couple balloons, suppositories, and loose rat poison. There were also a lot of pennies scattered right outside the front. It was quick and painless popping into the office to get the unit info and lock, and accessing the yard was easy, but I was disappointed with the state of the unit and a little uncomfortable since it seemed like people had been in it when it was empty.

The staff was fantastic, and so helpful! The front office was clean as were the restrooms. However, when we opened the unit, there was broken glass on the floor. Thankfully we had a broom and dustpan in the trailer, so it wasn’t tracked in with my belongings.

I originally chose a smaller storage unit but decided to upgrade to a larger one. The staff took care of this quickly. However, once I entered the storage unit, I saw leftover items from the previous renter. I did call the office to let them know that I'd pulled out all the leftover items. When I returned later that day to begin storing my items, the previous tenant's items were still outside the storage unit. Otherwise, this was a quick and easy experience. Thank you.

For some reason, this company kept on emailing me even though I contacted them stating that the email had on file was not the correct email for the person renting their unit. I have never been to Illinois, and they refused to update it to the actual person renting it. Completely unprofessional. I feel bad for the person who was actually renting the unit, who probably never got a single notification.

Anthony and his staff were professional, friendly and a source of assistance whenever we came to access our unit or to reserve a vehicle. It was personal and a well organized office. We will continue to seek services there for any moving needs we have. We moved our storage unit because we changed residence. It’s much more convenient. We enjoyed our experience with the University U-Haul facility and look forward to using them again. Anthony and his team were true friends.

TJ went above & beyond showing me where & how to use the keypad when the gate was suddenly closed one day. The employee that not quite helped me was very unpleasant to deal with. Overall a very unpleasant initial experience dealing with that particular individual. Everyone else was great though so I was just unlucky I guess. My second visit was what should be expected however. Management was pleasant helpful and very professional so good job to that guy. The first guy really sucked though, he needs to work on it all or find something else to do.

I lost the key to my unit and explained that I haven’t even used the storage unit. I asked them to just cut the lock and bill me for the month I had used it. The manager refused and started cussing at me. Telling me that he will continue to bill be until I find my key and get my stuff out. They now say I owe them $1500 in fees. WORST PLACE EVER!

Facility needs more staff went there one day there was 1 person on their busiest day of the week how do we considerable amount of time just to ask a question. Later in the day when the rush was over they had multiple people there working. Whenever I called I had to wait on hold extensive amount of time.. Staff was nice and courteous.

It wasn't explained that I had to take pitchers of the unit and go on line and dhow I was out of my unit. I then received an email telling me I needed to pay my rent Which I emailed back that I gave been out of my unit and turned in my key since September 23 as I knew the rent was due on the 24th, and I knew I could get a unit where my other things are for $40 vs $114. My unit for the $40 is a 5x10. So there was no way I was paying $114 for that tiny unit. I then got treating email to be assessed late fees on top of rent. Earlier I apparently went over on my miles was told when I returned the truck that I was good to go. Then I see where you took $40 extra besided the $31 I owed out of my checking account without notice, as I checked my emails at the time I seen you took the money out and there was none. I called and the manager said the would have it turned which it was about 10 business days later and after my automatic payments bounced due to the extra $40 that caused bounced check fees of $20 2x's and bounce check fees on my automatic payments. So taking this extra $40 ending up costing me an extra $80. So no I will only use you if I have to and nor recommend you to anyone.

I called the day before and the man said he would reserve a van for me and call me back. He never called me back nor make the reservation for the van. Luckly they had one the next day. I also feel as if your storage is really high after the free 30 days I already rent a full storage unit over twice as big for $40 a month however they had no units available at this time hoping they do at the end of the 30 days or my divorce is final

The reason why I said average cause the manager were very very rude, don't know how to communicate, very smart mouth, every body that's go get a uhaul or storage from there, he slow and very rude, the line be very long cause he very very slow, next time I will be taking my business else where, he still charge me for the unit, but I moved my stuff out feb 4, 2020, didn't take the lock off and I came in to talk to him about it, he was rude to me in front of customers and I was embarrassed about the situation cause their were other people around, thank you

The only thing I was very upset with was when my girlfriend and I called the call center, we were told one thing and the prices were cheaper than what was posted when we went to purchase the storage unit. We were told there was a 7x5 storage locker and it was air controlled. We were quoted 75.00. When I got there the other uhaul facility was a mile away and with the coronavirus I did not want to be going everywhere. I purchased a 12x5 unit. For 109.00 a month. This part I was very upset because we were given different info. The employees at the uhaul were very professional and nice. I would like a response as I am very angry about the inconsistent pricing and info. Your call center gives out verses the actual information that is given out.
