Was double charged after specifically asking about adding an extra hour. The second persons card was charged when it was supposed to be mine. He tried to select online that it was returned clean and it wouldn't let him do that, so it also added a cleaning fee for an already clean trailer, on top of double charging us.Dylan W.

I rent from this location probably more than most people, approximately once a month. The vehicles usually have some dings and scratches but this location is very good at acknowledging and identifying existing damage. The pickup I rented could have used an exterior wash but no big deal.Scott M.

The mileage rate is too high and some maintenance on the trucks would be great. The first truck had issues and the second truck was pass due for an oil change. Lots of wind noise through both doors.Timothy T.

It took me 3 hours to pick up my 4x8 trailer. When the staff member hooked up the lights the left blinker didn't work. He told me it was the connector on my truck and to come back the next day when the hitch guy would be at work. That was impossible since I had to load the trailer that afternoon and leave early the following morning. They send me to southeast Urbana to consult with the hitch guy there. There was no hitch guy there, but the location was great at the wonderful staff evaluated the connector on my truck and told me it worked fine. I returned to the original store and another staff member had me hook up the truck to an alternate trailer to test the connection even though I told him the staff at the Urbana location had verified that it worked. Then they wanted me to tow the trailer with the defective lighting system to the garage to "fix" it. They worked on it for quite some time and were unable to make the lights work. The left tire was also totally bald. The manager was completely unhelpful and at one point asked me, "Where did you get this trailer?" Well, I got it from his store - really? Finally, one of the staff members located another 4x8 trailer at the northwest Champaign store and said I could go there and pick it up. It took less than 15 minutes to connect that trailer and get on the way - 3 hours after the situation began. It seems they might have chosen that option from the beginning - or simply upgraded the trailer to a 5x8 which they seemed to have available. In fairness the other two locations they sent me to seemed well managed, competent and professional. I would especially like to mention the Philo Road store where the staff was very responsive, helpful, and kind. The University store needs a retread on customer service.Ginny S.

Van wasn't clean- sticky mess in the cup holders and random cubby holes in the dashboard. I found the remains of a blunt between the seat base and the floor mat. Once I threw that out the window the overwhelming odor of dope began to dissipate. By the 3rd day of my rental it was mostly back to smelling like a van again. The rear tires were at the tread wear indicators and the entire time of my rental the engine computer was requesting an oil change. The van only had 18k miles on itâ€¦ vehicle was presented to me with â€œ 27 miles to empty â€œ displaying on the trip computerâ€¦ Thanks for ensuring the vehicle was ready to go Uhaulâ€¦ Ultimately, it did what it was supposed to do and didn't break down, but I was not impressed at allJacob P.

I needed a work van while mine was being repaired. I work as an independent carpentry contractor, travelling locally only. Including mileage charges, I only paid about $30/day, and the vehicle was in perfect operational condition, very nearly identical to my own. Very painless experience.Mike S.

I spent 30 minutes trying to pickup with the app, because it wanted my DL photos and wouldn't upload. It was ridiculous becaus I already have an account and have already uploaded those things. Mobile pickup was not smooth. And then after 30 minutes of the app being awful, it said I still had the same amount of time with the vehicle and it was due at the same time. The van they had for us to rent had off mileage and an off gas gauge. As a result, they had to give us a 10' instead, which I was not comfortable driving. The employees spoke about how â€œa friendâ€ had borrowed a vehicle, during this conversation about what was wrong with the van. Additionally, there was nowhere for customers picking up a U-Haul to park, as those spots were blocked off with trailer hitches.Shannon B.

Apparently there was a hole in the floor we did not notice at pickup. We moved on a rainy day and when we many of our goods were wet. Fortunately we had put down some empty boxes to protect the floor and they took the brunt of the damage.John H.
There was an overflow of trucks parked by the entrance (seems unlikely that 7 or 8 people stopped off trucks between 5pm close and opening the next day), which made it difficult to drive the larger trucks into the parking lot. Utilizing a part of the parking lot for the back flow of trucks would benefit this location greatly!Albert D.

all of the staff at the Champaign IL University Ave. location were 100 percent profession and extremely helpful. I have used them several times and always the same as above. Last week I tried talking to 3 different locations that all kept giving me the runaround and very upsetting. I only tried them first because I had moved to different location. Everytime my card wouldn't work when I paid the extra storage free, when I would go in to purchase boxes or bubble wrap it was always feeling like I was a incontinence when I was spending my money there, and on overpriced boxes at that. The young man that I had phone conversation on Friday/Saturday was EXCELLENT. He was respectful, polite, informative, suggested insurance, told about access code or purchasing lock, whereas another man that I spoke to was ABSOLUTELY , % HORRIBLE. He didn't know anything and did not suggest or attempt to explain how services were working due changes because of COVID. I'm actually in another state moving back to Illinois and because of his lack of knowledge, I started to look elsewhere.
