The location of pick up to the address we were going was 69 miles. The house to the Uhaul drop off was 6.9 miles. The 75 miles given was impossible. When I spoke to the person on the phone they had said they would change the mileage to 80. We’re obviously over the mileage with a 76 mile door to door trip. Plus we had to detour for gas. I was charged an overage because either the person in the phone didn’t charge the mileage or the drop off location didn’t get the information. I also dropped off the truck the same day instead of the next day (the due date). I think the communication at the Uhaul company overall has some gaps.

Website gave me a 4:00 appointment and I received an email confirmation of that appt. location gave me a 2:00 appointment. They told me it would be 40 minutes to install . When I got there they still had 20 minutes on the previous hitch installation. Told me mine would be probably an hour. My car wound up being there two hours. 80 minutes over what the estimated time was that they told me it would take. It messed other appointments i had for that day.

Worst experience ever. It first started out with UHaul CHANGING our pick up location. This was very inconvenient and out of the way! We were told we would be able to pick up the truck after hours. We even called ahead to confirm. Needless to say, even after downloading the app, we were not granted access. After TWO HOURS on the phone sitting in the parking lot until 11pm with customer service (after extreme on hold waits) we were still not successful. I will say that the woman on the phone was wonderful and tried everything possible to help. Now, the next morning, we had to back track to pick up the truck. This took precious time away from our day as we were on a time restraint. The girl at the desk (in Depew) was far from pleasant with no apologies whatsoever. When we returned your vehicle at the North Syracuse, NY location, the gentleman was nothing but kind and accommodating. Depew should take some customer service training from him. I have used Uhaul many times in the past and never experienced these types of problems. I won;t say any problems, but not to this magnitude. Compensation for this nightmare should go unsaid.

The windshield wipers on this truck need to be replaced and there wasn't any windshield solvent in the reservoir. You also have to slam the driver's door to get it to close properly. Finally, the outside mirror on the driver's side, moves every time you close the door - it needs to be tightened.

Other than the truck not washed on my pick up , I was completely satisfied with my experience. My assistant did the best she could to save me money according to my schedule and even stayed a little after her shift to settle my final billing. That is customer service and is highly valued in today's world. Thanks for making my vacation successful to haul my boat so me and my family could enjoy our time.

I received the truck with 1/4 tank of gas , similar to the last time I rented Uhaul . In both cases I over estimated , and returned the truck with more gas than it started with . This is unfair to Me , the customer . All trucks should go out with full tanks, So at the end the customer can refill to full, and put in the correct amount .

Just wanted to drop a quick note about the excellent service I had with your business. When I came in this morning just before 9am Elaine was working alone and there were 2 other customers in front of me. She quickly processed our paperwork and got us on or way in a fast professional way. Oh and please note the customer in front of me ordered 60 yes sixty! moving blankets and which she loaded and was back at the desk within minutes! Would be nice if management could make this positive feedback part of her review or evaluation if possible to reward such hard work. Gary B.

The customer service representative on the phone was asked to book storage space big enough for a 1 bedroom apartment. They booked us a small closet 5x5 storage which was not big enough. We had to travel to a nearby storage location. The uhaul representative was initially rude and told us he was too busy to check us in, and said the wait time was “unknown.” After 15mins - his mood improved and he was able to help us. He did a good job that time.

First, no one was even in the building. I was waiting inside for 23 minutes before my dad went out to find someone. How can no one be in the building ?! Are you not worried about customers or theft ? I’m shocked. On top of that I’m shocked at how cheap UHAUl is. I over paid for gas accidentally and filled up the tank instead of 3/4 and was told no refund... too bad. You’d have no problem charging me but you won’t refund ? That’s insane to me since you’ll be getting free gas. I will not be using this company again.

The lady behind the counter was rude. She was shocked that I placed my trailer in the "equipment return" area, although that is the obvious place to return it. I turned the trailer in early yet received no rebate for the says I did not use it.

Colleen was exceptional at the time of my rental. Very knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable with my trailer rental. Upon return, the general manager Elaine came out to assist me upon the unhooking of my trailer. I completed the self return on my mobile device and it was a breeze! Two photos and I was done! This location is AMAZING and the staff here is perfect! I would not change a thing. Thank you Elaine and Colleen for a memorable experience ! You guys rock!

During my rental I called the location multiple times, left messages and received no response. Upon returning my rental, I went to the front desk and asked the female attendant why, she replied tersely, that "we were busy and when we're busy we don't answer the phone or respond to messages". This occurred at approx 6 pm on Friday 6/28. I'm not planning on ever renting from this place again. There are many other options that I have to rent the equipment I need and I will tell everyone about my dissatisfaction with this location.

There was a nice woman behind the counter when I arrived,and was right on it. I did pre register,so that made it faster. Followed her outside where she hitched up the trailer,and off I went. When ever I have to rent a trailer or truck, uhaul is where I go ,fast and friendly.

I was overcharged and will be disputing the charge if I am not contacted promptly. Uhaul overestimated the fuel at time of pick up, so I returned it where it was and have the receipts and photos to prove it in before and after pictures. I never have been so dissatisfied w uhaul and their actions are deplorable.

Communication with your personnel is very poor No one called me 6/14/19 to ask me what time they could drop off my boxes inDanbury.I was told on 24 th evening that my boxes had not arrived in Danbury and then later on I was told that they would drop it off between 8-10 am Confusing messages and had requested to have the boxes picked up on 6/16 but was picked up onthe 17 Communication in Buffalo was much better thanCT 800 number - the wait time is very long Emails are not replied promptly Customers are not explained that the boxes would come bolted - did not have the tools to open them The movers inCt did not come with tools or moving carts They charge you for two hours but would have been faster Luckily I had the moving carts so it was fine but movers should be equipped to do the job of loading and unloading Any way it was not the best experience

I was very unhappy at this U-Haul, every time I came to my storage unit the door was blocked so could not get in I would have to sit and wait for at least 20 minutes for some one to move the truck

The mobile check-in did not work, so we had to wait an hour past our reservation time to an employee help us. One employee showed up late and there was a long line right when the store opened. The truck smelled like stale cigarettes and the steering was very loose, meaning the truck swerved around the road.

OUTSTANDING cust service provided by ELAINE SNYDER. Without her extra effort and phone call to correct MY mistake in reservation, you company norm was to wait 24hrs for an electronic response. ELAINE got on the phone, made sure all was good, and got me going. UHAUL BETTER BE CAREFUL! If I was still in business I would have asked what she made, the hours she worked and increase one and decreased the other, AND STOLE HER ! SHE"S THAT GOOD! And, another cust in the store was obviously appreciative of her too! THANK YOU ELAINE!

I would like to personally thank the uhaul agent (a young girl, forgot to ask for her name). My van had a damaged wire and the turn signal was not working. She found the problem and fixed it before letting me drive out. I am very grateful!

Associate seemed very preoccupied and was extremely slow. Would also get distracted and not follow through with process in timely manner. Finally, he also never gave me back my license and I had to return to the store after just departing to ensure he still had it. Bad experience for me as a customer.

I actually got a refund on the installation I contracted on my credit card, due to the plug-in trailer harness costing less and consuming less labor. All the people in the shop were helpful and courteous. The only cause for concern was the delay of my original installation date by 1 week, due to overbooking by the dotcom service center, no fault of the local shop.

I handed the keys to the employee and she went out to check the truck and never came back. I stood there waiting 10-15 minutes to see if all was good, and I could go. I finally had to go find her out in the lot. The employee needs to come in and tell the customer that all is good and finalize the transaction.

After ordering at first, it took a day and a half to be notified that U-haul did not have the truck I needed, I was notified by text after they had already closed instead of phone call which I had specified, that I would have to drive an extra 20 or so miles to a different location (which, the mileage I would then be charged for), I canceled that order because that would not work for me and even after waiting 20 minutes on the phone theres no central call center handling after-hours customer service. I then remade another order, which then the same thing happened, even though both times the website had said that there were trucks available. Now when I went to pick the truck up there was only one employee working on a saturday on the first of the month to handle me and the 10 other people that were waiting in line foe about 20 minutes, How is that a smart way to run a business, short staff yourself on what will be one of the busier days of the month. All of this forced me to move in a downpour when I had specifically planned to get this out of the way when it was not raining earlier in the day. Completely disappointed with my first and only experience with u-haul.

self service app is a great idea but the camera function would not work for pick up or drop off. killed the convenience factor so I had to wait for staff to check me out and back in. staff was very nice and helpful, however I'd prefer the convenience of using the self service function.

Customer rep was very pleasant and apologized to each customer for the extreme delay, I had a pickup scheduled for 10:30 am, I arrived at 10:15 but I didn't leave with the truck until AFTER 11:40! I have never experienced a delay to that length before

1. Have more people scheduled to handle the people coming in to rent and return equipment! If that’s not possible, get a kiosk system so people don’t have to wait in line for ALMOST 2 HOURS!! 2. Have separate lines for renters with reservations, walk-ins and returns! The guy working on Sunday, May 26th was great considering Management put him in a very difficult spot by scheduling only him to take care of so many people!

Easy. Self-pick-up had issue with wrong key in the locker I was assigned by the app but there was a worker there helping and he got the correct key out of other locker so luckily no problem from that. That could be an issue after hours though so hopefully that was just a one-time thing.

There were no straps at all so I had to spend 150$ to buy straps and then was told that we had to pay 40$ / day if late and we knew the closing might be extended then stephanie calls my wife and tells her it would be over 90$ / day and she was pretty nasty , my wife was crying and we were in a bind with me out of state trying to close house to buy new home please call me if you would like , i had an amber i believe who tried to help me cust serv. but we had to hire movers to unload truck and will have to rent truck again load it and unload. I had to arrange with everybody at UHAUL and movers. For a simple enquirer about my arrival of my two boxes I transferred to 12 different employee and for each employee I was on hold for about half an hour. So I lost my one full working day to just make sure why my uboxes can’t ba delivered on time. When I placed the order I’m told the delivery date is guaranteed. But, after talking to 12 people I’m told there is no such a guarantee. On the 22 second of May which was my pick up and delivery day of my boxes, I arranged on 21th with Chelsea’s facility in Manhattan and I promised by Stanly that my two uboxes are ready at 8 am the next day which is the 22nd. My helpers from the Sutton company where at the Chelsea facility around 8am on 22nd. They have told that the boxes are not ready and they even cano verify my two ibises. I lost three hours that I had service elevator with my building. I had to be in touch with my helpers many time then they could identify my boxes themselves. When placed order I’m told COI is covered by UHAUL but I had to pay 70$ to the helpers to issue coi. I have another complaint in the UHAUL as well. I have very badly upset, charged more and wanted many hours of my full time work because of UHAUL.

Line was long to drop off truck for hitch install. Would have been nice to allow customers who prepaid for hitch install to somehow bypass the rental line. Waited over a half hour in line and came in 15 minutes before scheduled appointment. However install was high quality and less than 2 hours and am very happy with the product and order process

You have very poor customer service, long waits on the phone, and I don't at all appreciate being called a Muslim name when phone does get answered, I was told 3 different stories as to my trailer rental. This was a very frustrating experience with U-Haul. I have just found out that it seems U-Haul has purchased the Storage place where I have a unit on the eastern shore , Denton, MD, here at sometime, I was not even notified of this sale. I will work on removing my items from that storage place as I will NO LONGER deal with U-Haul. Your customer service division needs a grave overhaul; I take acception to being referred to with a Muslim name, I am an American Veteran, That was an ultimate slap in the face to me.

But with caution. I rented a tow trailer. One of the front wheel straps came off during the 12 hour trip and the front wheels turned on the trailer which made me very nervous. I called the Buffalo location and they told me do not worry but I was very concerned! The tech told me that the strap was frayed but said it would be ok? The Buffalo location did the vehicle assembly.
