My truck was terrible. The driving and the sound of truck was horrible. It took too much gas to fill at half a tank. And I was charged incorrectly by a representative and the manager wouldn’t even accommodate me for it being miscommunication. I will never U-Haul again!

Appointment was at 2:30pm. Was told it would take approximately 2hrs. Tried to call at 4:45 and voicemail transferred me to a national site. No option to speak to anyone. I didn't have transportation to go check in person. My girlfriend stopped by there at about 5:30 and was told there was a problem with the customers vehicle ahead of me and they would have mine done by 7pm which is their closing time. I showed up at 6:55 and was told 10 more minutes. At around 7:20 they were finished. My biggest problem was that no one called to let me know there was a delay, and I had no way to contact them to ask. If I had been given an option, I would have rescheduled as I needed my truck.

I absolutely believe the mileage was incorrect when the vehicle was returned after 4 days rental. 3 and a half of those days the vehicle was in a private home driveway and used on Saturday only!!!! When returned the odometer read 125 miles traveled. There's NO POSSIBLE WAY I traveled that far. No Way!!!!!! I will not recommend any location!!!

I called the pickup location the night prior to confirm my reservation details and I was was verbally guaranteed that the 5x9 utility trailer WITH A WHEEL CHOCK was in my contract and ready for pickup the following day. After paying $3700 for the 26ft truck & trailer, it was then brought to my attention that the same trailer I was guaranteed the night before was issued out to someone in that same day. My only option was to find a location elsewhere (which was apparently my job cause they weren’t active on it) that had the right trailer and pay more on top of the other trailer I already rented. So I had to buy more equipment because of this and in the midst of assessing this problem, the link they had sent me for checking the truck out expired and I notified them while I was still there so they could resend a new link and they never did. So right off the bat, I was 3 hours behind schedule after picking everything up and still didn’t get everything I needed. 2 hours into my journey across the country, the check engine light, ABS light, & traction control light illuminated. I reached out to roadside assistance and the gentleman arrived and helped me diagnose the issue. This process paused my trip for three hours. The truck was safe to drive as long as there was no inclement weather (which I certainly encountered). Though I did not feel safe without ABS brakes while hauling 8,000 lbs of my personal property. The speed sensor in the front left tire was faulty, and would disappear each time you turn the truck off then back on. After a number of miles the error code would trip once again disabling the safety features. So this leads me to believe this was a problem that was known but ignored. I lost traction control in the rain and alongside turnpikes. And each time it rained I had to pull over and wait before I felt SAFE to continue my trip. It was an EXHAUSTING and extremely lengthy drive. So after paying $3700 for all of this equipment, I was appalled by this U-HAUL experience. Luckily, the drop off location in Des Moines restored some faith in the company for me with their professionalism and sincere understanding. I do not believe $3700 is justifiable for everything I had to go through with this already stressful by nature Military move. I do have a complaint set in motion and expect to hear from U-Haul soon. Hopefully this can shed light on certain U-haul locations and provide a necessary desire for managers to review maintenance logs on the very equipment that is issued to its customers for their safety and wellbeing.

I rented a Box Truck from this location on 5/16/2024 handling that transaction was Katlyn Smith the Store manager. She made it very clear to me that I wasn’t a favorable customer of hers. Yes, I kept my reservations. But, left the store knowing that I was discriminated. I own a General Contracting Business working alongside some of the largest Real Estate Companies in Va Bch. So I’ve been renting trucks from U-Haul for years and now I’m accustomed to your truck rental procedures and policies. So, o decide to return the next day to share my experience with her. I approached her desk respectfully and almost immediately she became defensive and rude. Attempted to throw me out when that didn’t work she followed me outside telling me to get the f_ck out of the store and to never return. She was aggressive in manner and all I wanted from her was a listening ear. Plus, her supervisors name and number. I haven’t heard from General Manager Samantha Castro yet. There may not be any video but there certainly were witnesses to everything I’ve written. Hope to hear back from someone in upper management regarding this matter. Thank you

I recently closed out a storage until. do to the fact that the unit was over whelmed with rat feces. The rats decided to nest in the unit. which from what I see is a problem with that facility. and when closing out the unit and speaking with the general manager I wanted to ask about the overcharge on the account. GM immediately came back with a intense unprofessional manner. which caused me to come back with same kind of attitude. refusing to close out the account, help me with an overcharge on account. did not even try to resolve the situation by making it worse. and also asked to at least look over the comments that I had spoken to customer service about the situation. refuse to even look over those comments. storage unit was originally set up for my mother who has dementia and other illnesses can not do this herself. I am also on the account as a contact. The storage unit was on automatic payment on our bank account. I completely cleaned out the unit. went to return the access card to finish closing out the account. GM simply refused to do anything without my ill mother being there. account also on automatic payment, charged late fee? GM refusing to look at notes from customer service, customer service could not understand why we were charged late fee. when asking again about account we were requested to leave without reason and refusing to close out using offensive language.

They charged me $26 for a gas. I drove total of 24 miles burn about 2 gallons of gas . Old man can’t even explain why they charging $26. Just blamed his boss and little tablet that they’re using. Gas price is less than $4 a gallon. I paid over $100 renting 15’ truck for 4hrs. This place ripp off 👎🏻

The staff was very nice and helpful especially the general manager. However the weight to get my U-Pack pod could be challenging as I would call to reserve it but can never get through directly and would leave a message with the general line but it never got transmitted. When I would want the pods it would be and wait as long as an hour sometimes and the office was short-staffed. They need to have at least three employees at each desk and one out side to assist. This would avoid long Waits

My experience with a person that works at the Town Center Virginia Beach Blvd location was the absolute worst and most bizarre customer service situation that I have ever encountered. She was a condescending, rude, disrespectful bully. Will never use that location again, Uhaul should do something about making sure that their staff are properly trained to interact with the public. The app is junk. It would save time to just have customers fill out paper forms instead of having the employees play tech support with people's phones. What if an employee drops someone's phone? I know you're collecting facial recognition data for sale. The female employees at this location are clueless. I was directed to find a truck at one end of the lot, only to find that none matched the license plate number I received in the text. When I asked the girls at the counter, I was told that the license plate number didn't matter, and to match the number on the key. Truck wasn't there. Then I had the girl come out and look and to her bewilderment, it wasn't there. Then she said, "is it over there in the bays?" which is on the complete other side of the lot, to which I said no, I wasn't instructed to look there. It's as if they expected me to check every truck on the lot before clarifying with them where the truck was supposed to be. The females behind the counter were snarky when customers were getting frustrated with an obviously broken reservation system. That location is a joke and I will never rent a uhaul over an enterprise, ryder, or penske truck again. What should have taken 20 minutes took nearly an hour.

When I rented the storage space for contactless move in the app and the map made it difficult to find the alarm keypad to put my code in. Then when I got to mu unit. Some else's belongings where already in there. When I called the same day a trouble ticket was put in and was told the issue will be looked into the next day. Called the office and spoke with conner and he provided his email and said that he will look into the storage unit. Called again the same day and spoke to a victoria, I belive. And she informed me that conner left for the day and didn't inform anybody. I was still charged for the unit when I couldn't even use the unit. And when I tried to get the issue resolved no one cared to assist or help me. I submitted the pictures 3 separate times as proof and provided a video during the checkout process. This was a horrible experience and uhual has not supported their end of the contract as all.

Horrible experience. Waited over an hour to get access to storage unit. Reserved a 10x10 but only had a 10x5 - had to cram all belongings into a unit that was too small. Ended up having to take several items to a different storage location. Plan to move my items out of here ASAP. Would NEVER recommend to anyone - facility is dirty, staff is VERY slow, system was not working properly. Did not have size I reserved. Just a terrible experience all the way around.

The door that access the bldg kept locking upon entering while moving items to second floor storage. Constantly had to reenter code; this made the move inconvenient. While holding a couch someone had to reenter the code.

Couple issues I noticed. There are handful of units where I could see doors tampered or forcefully broken into on the non lock side. I found it very confusing and concerning. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that my unit is safe. Facility is good and clean with handful of trolleys to help you move things. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Roaches. So many roaches. Oh my God. I had to throw away over half of what we stored in there for fear of eggs that’ll become a problem in our next home. This was not even close to worth the money. Blooming Dales Flower shop was not the ideal uhaul location in any means. The hours of 10-4 and it’s location didn’t provide adequate time or closeness for me to pack out my storage unit into the trailer for my move. They don’t have any typical supplies like hitches, they referred me down the road to Tractor Supply. When I went to pickup the trailer, there was a massive dog with extremely long thick hair that walked up and started sniffing me. Afterwards he laid on the foot of another customer. When he asked for his foot back, the florist told him to give the dog a treat out of the box on the counter. A customer should not have to be exposed to animals let alone feed them snacks so they can leave the facility. The lady “inspected” the uhaul, but didn’t check the running lights and one was out, as well as it was tightened down to the hitch. Overall, I would never recommend this location for business of any sort!!!!!

Maybe I was not doing it correctly. But when accessing the storage after office hours, the automatic sliding door at the entrance of the storage building was not responsive. This made it really inconvenient for us to swiftly move in and out of the building and load things into our storage unit. I also did not realize that I needed to check in and out of the building upon arrival and departure. When I visited the unit earlier in the day, after signing up, I did not check out. But when I came back that evening to begin moving in my items, it took me a moment to figure things out as I ended up checking out and back in, multiple times, trying to get the doors to unlock. Once I figured that out, I realized the sliding door was not responsive and had to keep swiping my card each time the other doors closed and I had to get back in. It would have been helpful if all of this had been explained when I signed up for the unit, in the office. I didn’t realize the middle box had to be used before I could use the other boxes to get into the building and must have swiped my access card a million times.

If the sliding door is only available during certain hours, a sign should be installed on the door to communicate this to tenants. It was very discouraging to show up with a full truck only to discover that the only available access door did not have a ramp to allow the carts to be used to move items into the building.

Christopher was wonderful as accommodating spaces for my need he went above and beyond for me. He brought us bottles of water when we were unloading the truck it was 100 outside. His personality was great. You have a fantastic employee there and recommend him for a raise! Ty again for the pleasant experience.

Overall great storage, a little bit pricey maybe $5-10 less would seem more reasonable for the small unit. The elevator has a pungent smell of pee which it appears to be the only way up so you are forced to suffer the smell to get anything to your storage.

The salesman Christopher went above and beyond for me. He made the transition very smooth. I had to rent another unit and Christopher was quick on finding me another. It was an extremely hot day and he brought us some bottles of water. You have a wonderful and valuable employee there. He deserves Kudos! Overall, storing my belongings was fine. BUT my storage rent was due in the 2nd of each month. Sept 2 I paid for the month. On Sept 16, we were able to move out of storage, expecting to get some sort of refund since we only used two weeks of the month. I went in the office and was told nope, we don’t do partial refunds. So I said ok and went and put my lock back on my door, then made another trip out there Sept 29 to remove it. Just seems to be unfair to the people who may have needed that space, that sat empty for two weeks. And unfair to me to have to feel spiteful. I will never use Uhaul storage again, there’s plenty of other places with a sense of customer service!!

The storage unit staff, especially Christine, the facility manager we’re terrific! Frankly, these were the only Uhaul employees who honored their promises. Everyone else, from our (wrong and too small - even with the trailer we still left things behind in Austin and will have to return for them and start the moving process all over again!) truck pick-up in Kyle, all the other storage places in Norfolk area who called us a day after we picked up a two week rental asking us what time we’d be in Norfolk that day to drop off the truck and put stuff in storage, and your movers who broke things and showed up two hours late after pressuring us to meet two hours early and intimated us. We ended up unpacking the trailer ourselves while we waited and still had to pay the entire amount. We’ve called several times and someone is supposed to get back to us but never does. The moving company won’t give us a refund even though we called and told them about the intimidation we felt and requested different movers. We will NEVER use uhaul again and we’ll be warning our 5000 friends on FB, yelp and anywhere else we can find to complain unless we hear from someone and get some sort of refund.

Me and my vetrian was put threw ringers over few medical dippers and things we kept stored in there . Pitchers of are 25 years . They had no care in the world we had COVID 2 x . Lost are truck due to jiffty lube in Norfolk VA . Fried are engine. And I needed medical att. Out of area had no way to get are few things or the cages to his bird that was life friend.....nothing of value they new it ...had nurve to call my dieing mother phone more then 1 x after my father told them stop!!!!!
