I walked in asking for a 10ft truck, was asked if it was a reservation or not to which I replied no. I was quickly told there was no trucks available yet when I went to my phone the website very quickly gave me a reservation for the truck I requested previously and told I couldn't. We were told if we needed more time to just call and ask, prior to ordering our truck. When we called and asked for more time, we were told there was a booking and we would have to pay a late fee of $150 if we didn't make it on time. We luckily made it on time, but didn't get to finish all of our move that day. When we made it back to drop off the key, the same lady that said we would have extra time if we needed it was telling other customers to be careful and not go over time since there would be a charge, unlike what we were told. It was just a very stressful experience and to be safe we will be using other U-Haul locations instead to avoid unnecessary surprise charges.Sierra H.

This location did not carry furniture dollies (I had requested to rent one through U-Haul). After leaving the store and being on the road for a half hour I got a call that the check out person gave me the wrong truck and needed me to return it immediately. She had given me a truck that must stay at their location, while I had ordered a one-way vehicle. Upon returning the truck and getting the new one, they forgot to move the furniture pad I rented into the new truck. Ultimately, I did not receive any of the moving equipment I rented and wasted over an hour returning a vehicle that was U-Haul's mistake. I believe the lady who checked me out was new, but her boss/manager could not care less about her job or customer satisfaction. I'm very dissatisfied with my U-Haul rental experience.Amanda D.

Major issues form start to finish and will never use uhaul again. 1- checked in online and was told there was an issue. So I had to go inside. Only for them to have me do the same things I had already done online 2- truck I was given was out of gas and in horrible shape. Brakes barely worked. Close to 90k miles on it and it showed. 3- movers I booked to help me via your website cancelled on my after I had picked the truck up and one hour after they were suppose to be at my house to help. 4- I went to return the truck after only having it for 1.5 hours and driving it only 6 miles. Girl at the front desk felt bad for me and texted her manager to see if they could refund me or offer me a credit to use when I rebooked. The girl sitting next to her who was supposedly the â€œteam leadâ€ told her to not text the manager. No refunds. She was horrible and she not be on front of a customer. The person trying to help me is who you should be promoting. Showing empathy and care. Regardless rude lady won and I got nothing. Just a goodbye.LAURA W.

Desk staff was very rude. Came in to rent a van and they told me all of the vans were rented out (two were sitting on the lot). I asked if they had recommendations on where else I could go. They said to contact U-Haul directly - I went online and was immediately able to book one of the vans sitting on their lot. I came back in and the same desk staff told me I was wrong and none were available. I had to use the reservation guarantee since my 9am trailer was not in until 10:30 causing me to wait 1.5 hours. I was instructed I would get the $50 when I returned the trailer. The staff had to take time to look at paper work call main office because computer not working properly for refund. I was quoted a sale price of $89. and $132. with two dollies. Once I got there they told me my 15" truck was not available. However they gave me another 15" truck for one less day at $245 with no dollies. How on earth is this ok? Do you think people don't realize when they are being scammed? I just had no choice but to agree because I was moving and needed the truck. Great way to take advantage of a loyal customer, terrible service standard. I reserved a 20' truck at Slaughter location in Austin and it was confirmed. On day of rental, was told that my rental was on other side of town 25 miles away. Also told that someone should have called me, but no one did. Had to settle for a 15' truck for our one way trip no allowing us to take everything we needed to during our move & now we must make another trip. The past 3 times I've rented from this location, my truck rental has been either late or cancelled altogether. This time was no exception. It was cancelled and they redirected me to another store and rented me a truck for a shorter time period than I had asked for over the phone. They also sent me to a different pick up location. I have rented a storage unit here in the past so I decided to rent again. This is a convenient location for me. The gril that originally set up my rental was friendly and very helpful. I wish I had gotten her name. The others, not so much when I have been in for various reasons. Need earlier office hours on sundays. I was there before 9:00 a.m. to speak to someone and they opened the door right at 9:00 a.m. however there was only one guy working. There was a line of people yet some of the workers decided to go get breakfast tacos at 9:00 a.m. instead of working. That needs to be done before office hours so that the customers can be tended to during office hours. The staff is not welcoming. There is no "hello", "how are you", "sorry for the wait", Etc. Maybe it is employee turnover like so many businesses now. We were given a key to the rental and told to go find the truck. The lot was full even having several lanes three trucks in. After searching the entire lot, the truck was found to be parked behind another and not clearly marked. Poor customer service. In my opinion the truck should be brought to the front for customer pick up and inspection. Upon inspection the miles were unable to be seen and there was a low tire alert on the dashboard. The store itself clearly had not be swept mopped or cleaned in quite sometime. I would highly doubt doorknobs etc had been wiped down. Although a comment was made about no reuse/sale of the lock and key due to cross contamination ….. really? Several of the staff were helpful but a few not so much.Kristi B. | Overall Experience
Everything was great! Cristy was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The only suggestion we would make is having trash cans somewhere in the building, maybe one per floor near the elevators. There was a lot of trash (mostly broken locks and water bottles) and we had to take our empty water bottles in the car with us too. Before attempting to move my personal effects from storage unit, I would have rated Above average to excellent, but my exit experience was bad. I attempted to contact the Slaughter location on multiple occasions prior to the day of move out. I left a message with customer service Rep for Manager Tristin Timms to call me and I was told I would hear back from him. Next day with no call back I called again for Manager and person advised that she could help that she assist this location. I asked about my unit and that I had left my key in Houston and did the facility have a bolt cutter to cut my lock. I was told that they did and that it would not be a problem. When I arrived I was denied access and said I needed to call a lock smith to enter my unit. After an hour plus delay in locating a lock smith on a Saturday morning the lock smith arrived and opened my lock in less than 30 seconds. My overall issue is not that I needed a lock smith to open my locker it is the fact that I was given incorrect information and if I would have known about the procedure, I would have arranged to have open prior to the morning of my move. The manager on Duty tried to accommodate and indicated that she was new to the location.George B. | Overall Experience

All employees were very helpful and accommodating. The cashier was extremely patient with me. Even when he showed me were the storage size facilities were, the girl next to him knew I couldn't open them and opened them for me. They even offered me water. The young man who helped me with my boxes was extremely helpful with picking them out. He was also helpful with loading them up.
