AC wasn't properly working and the employees weren't aware. Detail about a gas credit was given at time of pickup, but the service attendant argued with me about the terms of the credit even though they were detailed on my receipt. Uhaul allowed me to book and confirm a drop off that it couldn't make, so we loaded at UHaul. Matt at the San Pedro Store was rude multiple times and the hold time to call was often avg 30 minutes. We were so uneasy about Uhaul that we opted to unload our Ubox and go with another company.Thomas N.

Reserved a pick up truck and entered all info including payment online. Was told I could convert to truck share and skip the line. I elected no to do truck share and encountered an employee that told me my payment method was not valid for truck rental but she could move me to a bigger truck. I waited almost an hour for my rental trailer. I had to track down workers THREE times to ask them to come move the trailer to a place I could access it from because it wasn't even ready! Each time they said someone would be with me no one showed and I had to go back inside to find someone else and ask for help again. It was ridiculous. Then the worker that finally did help said the trailer was a repaired trailer in a section of other repaired trailers that they don't even rent out! It was ridiculous. Nothing. To let you know: the truck that I rented and turned in in Midland, Tx was clean, handled very well. There is one item though, when hitting a bad spot in the hole there is a metal to metal bang sound. Coming from the right rear, just behind the cab and forward end of the cargo box.George W.

The gentlemen at the front desk was extremely rude and arrogant. I found it very disrespectful the way that he was talking to his employees and staff. His sarcastic tone of voice and snark remarks and lash outs only made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't appreciate the way that he was speaking to his fellow colleagues. As he checked me out I felt very uncomfortable but he also made me feel like I was an inconvenience to his day. Horrible customer service on his part and beyond rude to everyone around him.MANUEL D.

Got some quite rude phone calls about replacing locks. In addition, on the last day, got a similarly brusque call to immediately go fix the lock, because the door was only partially locked. When I was renting the truck with your 24/7 share, or whatever it's called using my phone. I was instructed to check the mileage, go through a checklist on the condition of the truck, and verify everything worked. However, I was not given access to check the mileage, was not given any checklist, and wasn't even given a location of the vehicle to attempt any inspection.. I was not told where the truck was or given the key until I already was instructed to click â€œokayâ€ on each screen that was telling me to verify these things. When asked, one employee told me that he knew nothing about the online rental option. Another employee told me I have to just click â€œokayâ€ on each screen until it told me to go get the key. So I did. I got the key.. and then visually inspected the truck for any obvious signs of damage but still had no checklist and no way of knowing what the last logged odometer reading was. So I took a pic of the odometer before I left the lot, as well as the gas level. Now I am being charged all these crazy fees amounting to $299 when I put about 15 - 20 miles on it and put $15 in the gas tank bringing it back up a little closer to the full than when I picked it up. I rented an 8 ft pickup truck at the price of $19.99 plus like .79 a mile. I extended my rental an extra day because I didn't even need it until then I just rented it a day early as an only option to guarantee I got it. That extension was $35.59.. which I agreed to. My bill should have been about $70.00 but Was charged $299.00. They claim I put like 200 miles in the truck, they had to add 3 gallons of gas, and then another fee that was just called â€œrental feesâ€ which brought that $70 up to $300. Crooked place. Nobody knew anything. They couldn't even find the truck for 30 min when I first arrived to pick it up. Complete BS. 0 stars.. bewareJustin H.

Intermittent AC issue and a shattered windshield. - This location runs like a monopoly. I reserved a cargo van online. When we arrived for pick up there was an initial hiccupâ€"this location requires a San Antonio address on your Texas license. Once we explained our situationâ€"we were impacted by spring tornado and needed to pick up ordered items from local Lowe's as part of building back our homeâ€"Daniel was able to assist us and make sure we could rent van for the day. As this is the first time we've ever rented through UHaul, we greatly appreciate Daniel's help and excellent customer service to get us taken care of and in van much needed for that day.David C.

It was a little frustrating that despite using the online service (â€œ24/7â€) to make my reservation in advance, the equipment and vehicle wasn't ready when I arrived. If I didn't have two crying toddlers in my car, the extra 20 minutes wouldn't have been a problem. I don't fault the location employees as much as I fault the U-Haul customer and online service, as they seem to overstate the ease of the the â€˜easy peasy' 24/7 pickupGEORGE M.

The location was very good. The reservation system on the website however was highly frustrating. I tried to reserve a small truck for about 6 hours. The drop down menu provided pick up times from like 330am thru 730 am. I tried a number of alternatives, but the only way I could set up a reservation that allowed me to pick up the truck during business hours was to set it for 4 hours with a pick-up time at 830. Knowing that I would not be able to get to the center until about 10am, I tried to call the 800 number but got bounced around a number of times as no one could find a solution. After being put on hold for a while I gave up. Upon arrival at the center a bit after 10am, I was told that my reservation was about to be cancelled and that with a 4 hour window, the truck was already committed beginning at 1pm. After explaining my problem, the lady at the center was able to find another truck that was not committed until 3pm. The point of all this is that your reservation system (and the support team) need a LOT of work. The lady at the center was great at helping me navigate my situation.Charles C.

There were a lot of issues regarding the storage for move. The upside is that the manager went far above and beyond to reach a reasonable solution. he called and called again any and every resource but ultimately he made something happen for us. During this time, he had put his lunch off, and was bouncing between assisting many other big issues with customers. It was only him and another worker. I've been using their storage for 2+mths now. And every time I come in, everyone is always so helpful and welcoming and in a content/relaxed/nice mood. If they can't help, they'll quickly direct you to who can. They actually messed up my storage unit reservation when I was down-sizing, and they completely took responsibility. I had to return a trailer half way through my trip and upgrade to a moving truck and a car transport because my little Ford ranger was struggling to pull the trailer. Technically, because this wasn't where I was supposed to return it, it was a "wrong location" and I couldn't return it. But couldn't figure out where I could return it. I called 1800gouhaul and got transfered 6+ times. Each employee claimed that they didn't have access to the info I needed. They couldn't make changes and didn't know why the previous person sent me to them. I think each employee should be granted access to everyone's order, be able to see all their info, and make changes. Everything is online these days. I should be able to contact an employee in a random state and they should be able to tell me where I can drop stuff off and make changes to my order. Each time I called to figure out drop off locations there was a 10+ minute wait. Calling 1800gouhaul again, I wanted to change my drop-off location because it wasn't the same as the storage location. The telephone line said that I could change it online. I would have preferred to do it over the phone. But after another 10-15+ min wait, I gave up. When I went online, neither my wife or I could figure out how to do it online. We asked the guys at the storage location if we could just drop it off there? They replied, oh, no. If you do that, we'll have to charge you double. Fruatrated, we just took it to the other location and dropped it off. Storage locations are free for the first month. Unless you don't have a round padlock. Then you charge me 10$?! I already had my own regular padlock with me, ready to go but you said, oh no, they can't be that type of lock. It has to be a round one. When I went to lock it up, my lock fit just as well as yours did. That was a totally unnecessary move on your part. The self storage container had two tears in the roof covered in white duck tape. What if it rains hard? Duck tape won't keep the water out.RAY G. | First Impressions

I came in from out of town and arrived at the Uhaul at 6:45pm, 15 mins before closing. I had called ahead of time and already had a reservation for a storage unit. The employee I believe his name is Matt at 5810 San Pedro, San Antonio, Texas 78212 was fast, helpful, and very thorough. He gave me my paperwork, access gate card and explained everything to me in 15 minutes. I asked him if business was busy,and he said yes, but he was calm and friendly.
