Equipment ordered - not in truck. Make sure your contract is exactly what you entered o line if different they won't correct. Rented it for 12:30 left lot 1:40 lost an hour picking up truck. Steer clear of this U-Haul altogether. Besides the truck being filthy which was fine as the app has an option to make note of that and I thought that the cracked windshield was manageable even though that wasn't part of the pre trip notes. What was terrible was the customer service. The gentlemen who ID checked me as soon as I walked in the door and asking what I was doing there as if they are running some illegal operation. I recently relocated to Texas and they said I had to have a Texas drivers licenseâ€¦ which I understand things happen but given that this is U-Haul and I just moved hereâ€¦ it's a good thing I did go to the dmv first. Anyway, poor introduction from beginning I explained I had a reservation and went through a few more grilling questions and it was just awkward and rude. Moving beyond that I was able to get my move done but upon my return the guy was still there and continued to be nasty. Absolutely nasty. I seemed to have lost the key to my parking garage somewhere between exiting the parking garage and dropping off the truck while having never left the vehicle. When I returned home I immediately called and asked that if he has a chance and when he's not busy to see id he could check and see if my key card was in the vehicle and to no surprise he rambled off with some frustrated rant about the car not being serviced yet â€¦ ignoring everything I said. I don't know if I left the key there or somehow I dropped it elsewhere but I never received a call back either way and I doubt he even checked anyway. My building is charging me $125 for that. I let the guys blabbering roll of my shoulder even though it was really upsetting to be treated that way. Bottom line. Stay away from this place. They are disgruntled and could care less about the customer. That's being niceâ€¦ I suspect far worse is going on in this place. Not to mention the trucks are in terrible shape. First two trailers did not have working lights/signals. The third one worked so we drove off only to notice it was tilted sideways and tracking diagonally behind us. The trailer also fell off the hitch when approaching a stop sign even though the Uhaul employee is the one of hooked it up. Unacceptable, yet I was still charged for renting a faulty trailer that was unsafe and the damn thing fell off and could have smashed my truck. Luckily it did notNATHAN D.

Customer service was horrible. Matt was running the front counter and had horrible manners and an attitude. Plus we lost a couple thousand dollars worth of merchandise because Uhaul advised us last minute that they did not have the size trailer that we ordered several weeks in advance. Could have told us days before and we could have made arrangements but when we arrived at the shop to pick up the equipment they advised us that they did not have the trailer we needed. Plus I had to stay on the phone for hours to reach someone in order to get a smaller trailer. I had to spend extra money getting the equipment a day or two earlier because I could not count on the shops to be ready for my order or be able to deliver in a timely manner.JESSICA S.

After my experience Saturday I wouldn't recommend U-Haul to a friend. I had a guaranteed reservation for 9:15 at the San Pedro location. My truck wasn't returned in time for my reservation. They said they didn't have another truck for me to use. I started calling around believe I got corporate making me reservations finding me multiple trucks. And again when I got there there was no truck advance Jackson 410. I had a crew ready to help me get my job done with no truck to do it with. At noon when I could not get a truck in my custody I had to send everybody home. So it cost me money to pay these guys for no work. It took me three times longer to get the job done. I did not actually get a truck until 1:30 that day. And then you'll have the audacity to charge me for two full days. I made these comments when I checked out and somebody was supposed to reach out to me and I haven't heard a damn thing from y'all so no I would not recommend y'all. We needed to drop off or trailer early due to not having the parking at our new apartment complex. So we brought it a day before we were able to drop off the truck. They told me it would be no problem and to just let them know when we drop off the truck. When I came the next day to drop off the trailer, the guy seemed like he was upset at the world and that anything was the biggest inconvenience to him. When I told him I dropped off the trailer the day before, he was really upset and started to get mad at me, I told him that you guys told me that it wouldn't be a problem. He rolled his eyes at me. The only reason I'm giving this store 5 stars is because the first guy, who I believe his name was Edgar, was so helpful and nice and made up for the attitude of the other person whom I didn't catch the name of.George B.

The app is awful for returning the truck. I went thru the entire thing TWO TIMES and then it said "unavailable, try again later" BOTH TIMES. Finally the 3rd time worked. It doesn't save pictures so had to go thru whole thing 3 times at midnight trying to return it. And then the screen that tells you where to return the keys flashed off so fast I couldn't even read where to return the keys so I had to call the 800 number. The area to return keys is not clearly largely marked on the building. Ridiculous process to return, if only the app worked properly it would be easier.Michael M.

When I arrived, they seemed a bit disorganized and didn't know how to process my registration due to an error in their system. This cut into about 15 minutes of my tight rental window. My rental was clean, however, the tank was empty. I thankfully received a credit on my charges for the empty tank but it was still disappointing and stressful leave the store with an empty tank and rush to find a gas station in time.Olukemi F.

I flew into town with goal of furnishing a new home I purchased in San Antonio, and rented a van for a week for this purpose. When I tried to get the van I was told I needed a San Antonio drivers license to get the car. Luckily I was able to get in touch with a friend to come to the location to help me check out the van, but it would have been nice to know this well in advance, like before making the reservation. I understand these are the terms required by a local dealership from which Uhaul leases the vans, but the purpose of my rental was exactly why people look to Uhaul, so such a policy makes no sense.Tarah M.

1. Had an 8:00 pickup for 15' moving van. Arrived a few minutes early and waited more than 35-40 minutes to receive equipment. 2. After getting the details the clerk said the destination was updated from the original estate and it would cost a $100 more (What! More than 25 percent more.) 3. Only one clerk taking care of customers. Numerous other employees coming and going while many waited for the one clerk for help. One was cleaning the area, empting the waste paper baskets. (Though most businesses would do this after hours.) 4. The night before I tried to call ahead after the original pickup location did not have a van. Given 210-731-2800 as the number to call to get pickup location the only to hang up after 45 minute wait listening to a recorded message with no opportunity to give message or call back number. 5. After received a call from a franchise storage center that a new location was given which was a U-Haul company site which I an commenting on. 6. When the same thing at my destination. Called the number printed on the contract, 833-399-0501. Again the same recorded message and no way to leave a message or call back number. Waited 40 minutes after it said the wait time would be approximately 20 minutes. Spoke to Michael, who was helpful. It took more than 5 to 7 minutes to find a drop off location since the clerk at pick up could not find it on her listing. (What! You all don't know where your sites are located? When I arrived to return my rental there was items I needed to purchase as well. After grabbing what I needed I walked to the register where there were 2 guys behind the register on there phones and talking. As I approached the register to make my purchase and check in my rental, one of the guys states "well it's time to get to work" and both guys walked off. I had to ask for assistance, and all that was mentioned was someone else will help me. Poor customer service! Then another guy walks out and I ask him for assistance and he just walked out unanswered. At this point I was I extremely bothered by the service I received and left the counter. As I was walking out, another guy comes out and asks if I needed to purchase something, I told him no and I just needed to return a rental. He then points a line and says I need to move my rental behind the line and someone will assist. Had I known that before, I would have made sure of it, but yet just a lack of customer service. Finally the guy that does assist is constantly on his phone and then just says "you're good to go" nothing about my receipt or anything so I had to ask about that. He just mentioned it would be sent to my email and walks off... There were a lot of issues regarding the storage for move. The upside is that the manager went far above and beyond to reach a reasonable solution. he called and called again any and every resource but ultimately he made something happen for us. During this time, he had put his lunch off, and was bouncing between assisting many other big issues with customers. It was only him and another worker. I had a horrible experience with this UHaul location. When I got to the front of the line, they told me that I needed a driver's license with a San Antonio address in order to get the cargo van that I reserved. I do not know where they came up with that rule because that requirement was not listed anywhere. I got this reservation directly through 1-800-GO-U-HAUL after they cancelled my previous reservation two days before move date and they did not mention this either. I had to contact someone to come and help me keep my reservation for the cargo van. When I finally got it, they did not have the utility dolly I had reserved. Apparently they ran out. I do not understand why they are overbooking themselves. I understand there is a shortage on rentals which is why I made a reservation in advance. After finally getting the cargo van halfway through my reserved time, they still required it to be returned at the original return time. What is the point of making a reservation online if they are going to give you a hard time to get the equipment I reserved?ELENA W.

I've been using their storage for 2+mths now. And every time I come in, everyone is always so helpful and welcoming and in a content/relaxed/nice mood. If they can't help, they'll quickly direct you to who can. They actually messed up my storage unit reservation when I was down-sizing, and they completely took responsibility. I had to return a trailer half way through my trip and upgrade to a moving truck and a car transport because my little Ford ranger was struggling to pull the trailer. Technically, because this wasn't where I was supposed to return it, it was a "wrong location" and I couldn't return it. But couldn't figure out where I could return it. I called 1800gouhaul and got transfered 6+ times. Each employee claimed that they didn't have access to the info I needed. They couldn't make changes and didn't know why the previous person sent me to them. I think each employee should be granted access to everyone's order, be able to see all their info, and make changes. Everything is online these days. I should be able to contact an employee in a random state and they should be able to tell me where I can drop stuff off and make changes to my order. Each time I called to figure out drop off locations there was a 10+ minute wait. Calling 1800gouhaul again, I wanted to change my drop-off location because it wasn't the same as the storage location. The telephone line said that I could change it online. I would have preferred to do it over the phone. But after another 10-15+ min wait, I gave up. When I went online, neither my wife or I could figure out how to do it online. We asked the guys at the storage location if we could just drop it off there? They replied, oh, no. If you do that, we'll have to charge you double. Fruatrated, we just took it to the other location and dropped it off. Storage locations are free for the first month. Unless you don't have a round padlock. Then you charge me 10$?! I already had my own regular padlock with me, ready to go but you said, oh no, they can't be that type of lock. It has to be a round one. When I went to lock it up, my lock fit just as well as yours did. That was a totally unnecessary move on your part. The self storage container had two tears in the roof covered in white duck tape. What if it rains hard? Duck tape won't keep the water out.RAY G. | First Impressions

He gave me my paperwork, access gate card and explained everything to me in 15 minutes. I asked him if business was busy,and he said yes, but he was calm and friendly. Got there and Gloria asked for my information, tried to charge me another fee for the storage that I had already paid for over the phone.
