Bruce S.I use this location a lot for daily trailer rents and have for 30 years. I immediately noticed a marked improvement in the employee attitudes this time. The counter was fully staffed so I didn't have to wait as long as usual and the CSR was friendly and efficient. The outside trailer guy hooked it up promptly and was polite. I'm glad to see the improvement. Must have a new manager or something.

DaVID A.Clean the equipment. I have rented many times and the trucks are rarely washed. The inside of the vehicle is usually very clean. Explain the terms of the Damage waiver. If it does not cover anything, then explain that and have information readily available in uhaul.com about what is covered, if anything. I had damage to the truck I rented due to a hit and run that happened overnight, that I did not even notice until I was taking the truck back in the morning. I was returning the truck early, due to my work schedule beginning early that day. I used one of the service offered, dropping off the vehicle during off hours and returning the key to the drop box. I called in the morning as soon as I returned home, before beginning my work day. I was told that I could speak with the general manager. The rep said that she would have the General manager call me at 230 after work. I waited for the call and no one ever reached out to me. I am still waiting to get an explanation of the damage waiver and it's purpose.
Sylvia C.This store manager and staff were extremely rude. They did not help with the return, at one point refused to help at all and were condescending to my wife and I. They had no interest in helping me with some wrong information I was given by a uhaul representative over the phone or resolving my concern. When speaking to them about my issue, Diana the manager refused to listen to the issue, instead walked away in the middle of my talking. I have never experienced a situation where the management is rude and unhelpful. They do not represent U-HAUL very well. They made me feel like I was wrong but really had wrong information that cost me. I had everything ready to go including correct payment. This location tried to overcharge me and continued to tell me they weren't going to do anything about it. This really made me feel like I had no options. I hope Diana can re-evaluate her customer service skills and communication and also her willingness to help customers get on the right page. This was an awful experience and I will not be returning any business to U-HAUL and I will let my friends and family know about this specific location. This was enough to realize that this location and U-HAUL as a whole do not care about their customers. This was bad representation, bad customer service, rude and condescending managers.

Eduardo H.I reserved the trailer the night before picking it up, including entering my credit card info, but somehow apparently the reservation never went through. When I arrived to pick up the trailer early that next morning there was no record of my reservation. The lady was able to find me a trailer but the price of the rental was slightly higher than the quote from when I had made the reservation. Still, I was able to get a trailer and move, thanks to her help.

James B.U-haul as a company changed my pick up location the day before I was supposed to pick up my rental vehicle that I reserved 3 weeks in advance. Once I arrived to new location, vehicle was dirty and looked worn. Upon attaching trailer, I noticed tire on uhaul truck looked to be low on air. Once tech filled tire, he noticed a nail in the tire. Because truck and trailer were loaded, employees at facility recommended I call roadside assistance. Roadside assistance took 1hr and 45min to arrive AT the uhaul facility to change a tire that took about 1 minute - kudos to the maintenance tech that made quick work out of a tire change. On a positive note, the maintenance tech was very friendly and helpful with helping to find my vehicle and front desk worker was also friendly and helped with trailer set up. Lastly, parking at uhaul facility is severely limited and always full. Watch where you park in residential area close to uhaul facility as my car was towed while I left to pack my apartment.

She used the trailer tongue dolly and had everything disconnected and the trailer off my hitch with minimal effort. The checkout process was done right on her phone and I was on the road.

When I dropped off the truck in San Antonio the employees were more in a hurry to close and get out of there rather than taking care of the customer.

I tired asking several of your employees what was going on and nobody knew anything. I was told I needed a supervisor to cut the lock. A few days later the supervisor was available. Just so happened to be the same day I hired a locksmith. Supervisor cuts the lock. Turns out my wife entered the unit while I was gone, she locked it in the open position. Someone at U-Haul out a new lock on and didn't tell anyone about it or made a note in the system. So here I am, wasted 4 days trying to get into my unit and $50 out of pocket (locksmith fee). Other than that, you need more staff. There shouldn't be a 30-45 min wait to get a vehicle because you have 1 person working the counter.

The upside is that the manager went far above and beyond to reach a reasonable solution. he called and called again any and every resource but ultimately he made something happen for us. During this time, he had put his lunch off, and was bouncing between assisting many other big issues with customers. It was only him and another worker. His name was Matt Kalinec, he deserves a rise and praise. Will be sending him lunch for the lunch he put off to deal with our issue.

If they can't help, they'll quickly direct you to who can. They actually messed up my storage unit reservation when I was down-sizing, and they completely took responsibility. They notified me quickly, fixed it, and made me feel like they really cared about me as a person. I greatly appreciate all the gentlemen I've came across there!
Breyanna I. | First ImpressionsI had to return a trailer half way through my trip and upgrade to a moving truck and a car transport because my little Ford ranger was struggling to pull the trailer. Technically, because this wasn't where I was supposed to return it, it was a "wrong location" and I couldn't return it. But couldn't figure out where I could return it. I called 1800gouhaul and got transfered 6+ times. Each employee claimed that they didn't have access to the info I needed. They couldn't make changes and didn't know why the previous person sent me to them. I think each employee should be granted access to everyone's order, be able to see all their info, and make changes. Everything is online these days. I should be able to contact an employee in a random state and they should be able to tell me where I can drop stuff off and make changes to my order. Each time I called to figure out drop off locations there was a 10+ minute wait. Calling 1800gouhaul again, I wanted to change my drop-off location because it wasn't the same as the storage location. The telephone line said that I could change it online. I would have preferred to do it over the phone. But after another 10-15+ min wait, I gave up. When I went online, neither my wife or I could figure out how to do it online. We asked the guys at the storage location if we could just drop it off there? They replied, oh, no. If you do that, we'll have to charge you double. Fruatrated, we just took it to the other location and dropped it off. Storage locations are free for the first month. Unless you don't have a round padlock. Then you charge me 10$?! I already had my own regular padlock with me, ready to go but you said, oh no, they can't be that type of lock. It has to be a round one. When I went to lock it up, my lock fit just as well as yours did. That was a totally unnecessary move on your part. The self storage container had two tears in the roof covered in white duck tape. What if it rains hard? Duck tape won't keep the water out.

The employee I believe his name is Matt at 5810 San Pedro, San Antonio, Texas 78212 was fast, helpful, and very thorough. He gave me my paperwork, access gate card and explained everything to me in 15 minutes. I asked him if business was busy,and he said yes, but he was calm and friendly. I appreciate this kind of customer service. Thank you Matt! Uhail, please give him an accommodation for excellent service, especially for being at the end of the day. My visit was on 4/29/21, check his name to make sure I'm correct. Thank you again!

Two days afterward I received a late charge and was informed I was delinquent. Wait times at the store were also frustrating. Each of the three times I went in and spoke to staff, I had to wait 15+ minutes due to there only being one person.
