This trip in the U-Haul truck was terrible! The truck overheated and we had to pull over several times to let it cool. The truck also got more difficult to start on every crank up. Then towards Dallas a traction control warning also came on. We then got to Dallas Texas. The car wouldn't even crank at the gas station. We called the emergency road assistance. The service man was over an hour away. This was at around 11pm at night! He got to us and did a decent job that turned out to be a temporary fix. He said the truck needed to be serviced, he said they don't build good trucks anymore. He said the nut connected to the starter was coming off and thats why the car wouldn't crank. He tightened to nut and fixed the start up issue. He then told us the oil pipe going into the engine wasn't connected and oil was coming out causing the truck to overheat. He said the car wasn't inspected and needed servicing. We got to our hotel. Then had to leave 5 hours later to make the trip in the time we needed. We barely got any sleep due to the faulty truck. Unfortunately, the truck overheated an hour into the trip while we were idling. We had to pull over a lot of times to let the truck cool. I ended up missing my job interview. I also had to purchase oil to put into your faulty truck. The rep at the drop off location says that the people who gave us the truck need to offer reimbursement, and I agree.Kara P.

We encountered a couple of hiccups during our time there. First, the clerk who checked us in was unable to program an access control card so instead had us pick a pin code. Not a big issue until 6 weeks into the rental period when we were confronted by a female employee who we had not encountered before who admonished us for failing to swipe the card reader or use the pin code.. Once the situation was explained she provided an access card. The second glitch came when 2 weeks into the rental period we were surprised to find we were locked and tagged out of the space due to an unapproved padlock that was against their policy. Again, I explained that at check in I told the clerk I had my own lock that secured the rented Uhaul trailer during the trip out. At no time did she ask to see my lock or explain about their padlock policy. A policy approved lock was provided and our space was freed up for use. Finally, big time kudos to Andrea R. She is a most professional, competent and friendly individual. She should be considered an asset to your company. Give that girl a raise! The online contactless reservation system is a nice concept but it really is just a headache unless the center is completely automated with the key pickup, you are basically waiting to do it all online to then obtain the key inside with an agent. Facility is very nice and has many things for sale that all U-Haul locations do not. Staff were very friendly. Only thing is I wish there would have been more information provided about the storage facilities as I have never used u-haul before. The door to the loading/unloading does not work unless you ask an employee to unlock it, and the afterhours entrance is on the side of the building and we did not find it until searching for quite some time. First 2 trucks were on Empty (Gas Light On). Third truck had a 1/4 tank so I took it. The vehicle was filthy. I had to use the rental location Windex to clean the windows and mirrors caked in mud to see out. They location needs either retraining or firing. I brought the vehicle back with the appropriate amount of fuel yet was charged a $20 fee claiming I had not done as such. I called and offer to bring the gas station receipt and through the power of math could easily determine based on average miles per gallon and the difference in the odometer in drop off and pick up whether or not I was correct and owed a refund or if the business was correct to charge me as such. However, I was obstinately told I was wrong and a liar and that they would not bother. I was happy to pay if I was incorrect but was instead was undermined.Thomas W.

I needed climate-controlled storage, and they were right on it. Staff were great. Freight elevator difficult to use/open and close doors. Upon our arrival the ladies manning the counter were friendly and helpful in determining the proper size unit needed to store our stuff. The explanation of the storage unit rental and access was detailed and easy to understand. We were shown the courtesy carts to off-load our items and offered us water during our time there. Horrible experience that could have been resolved with clear signage, attentive employees, and a general care of the service you provide. We were charged for an item we never received despite contesting the payment online, had a nightmare getting in after hours (zero after hours support despite providing a number), and an absolute rude checkout experience. I'm genuinely sad we chose this location for our storage and hope that maybe they were just experiencing a bad day or maybe this was a breakdown due to the pandemic / lack of qualified staff. On at least three occasions my payment was screwed up with no apology. I recently called to update my credit card for auto-pay, the associate over the phone indicated the computer system was a little delayed but the change would updated once the computer system was up and running. Fortunately, two months after not receiving the confirmation I was told I would be receiving, I decided to call to see if the payment was ever processed. The first call, I was informed that everything went through and my payment had been processed successfully. My most recent inquiry, I was told my CC had been declined. When I asked what CC was on file,the associate informed me that if a CC is declined, that information is deleted. The associate made it seem like I was at fault. My question: How do I know it wasn't a data entry error committed by Uhaul personnel? Because, I supplied that same CC information during the original call which been successfully processed on 2nd call. When I asked these questions, the associate (Patricia) was steadfast that is was my fault. The frustration in her voice was very apparent when she rudely announced, Well, I don't know what happened before but your card was declined! I did inform her that this was the same card I had used previously when I was told it was processed successfully. Now I'm being told something completely different. Rude Patricia said well I can send you the confirmation to your email. Please do, but I am still confused about what happened. Her rude response: Well, you can speak to the manager. I replied, that would be great. Well, I'll have him call you. And then she abrutly hangs up the phone. I have yet received that call from the manager or the email confirmation for the most recent payment. Based upon the history, I would be surprised if I get call in the future stating my account is in the arrears or worst yet, my belongings were auction due to non-payment.Derwin M. | First Impressions
