I guess the only thing I didn't understand about the UHaul policy is that I made my reservation for 2:30. I forgot my wallet and didn't get back until almost 3:30. I was still only given the reservation for the 5 hours despite my late arrival and paid an extra $40 to have it the full five hours from when I actually picked it up. I was planning my son's graduation party and did not have a credit card to rent the pick up-she was able to transfer me to a 10' truck and I was able to get the table and chairs with no delays! Gas was siphoned at this location the night before pick up. Vehicle's gas light was on and completely empty. I asked if we were supposed to drive off like that and they said "yeah go ahead and get it filled up." Despite getting reimbursed, that is a huge inconvenience to pick up the U-Haul empty, take time out of the schedule I had, fill it up, then leave. Hard enough to drive a 26 foot truck and then maneuver it through the gas station.MARCOS S.

The signs at the rental desk show the price of a 17 foot moving van as $29.95/day, but I was charged $39.95. When I pointed that out to the employee she said â€œThose signs are old and Uhaul won't send us new signs with the right prices on them.â€ No one even brought up the price discrepancy to me, I had to notice it myself. Seems dishonest to have signs all over the office showing rental prices but then charge the customer more and not even say anything unless they discover it.Matt T.

Cannot say thank you enough to the young lady who checked us in very early on a Saturday...I was able to call and make a change of location for the drop off as we arrived earlier than anticipated to our destination and were able to unload quickly. When dropping off in Fargo, ND on veterans blvd, employee was by himself. I had just filled tank and back was swept out and rental blankets folded, cleaned out cab, he told me it was ok to leave and he would check in later, got home that evening and got charged $40.00 for 3 gallons of fuel and service charge not happy, when gas pump shut off I thought it was full, gauge reflected full and same position it was in when I picked it up, l did not keep topping off,Ronnie N.

The person running things in the morning when I picked up the van was genuinely great. I am forgetting her name, but she was exceptionally efficient, thorough, and kind. I can imagine that maintaining both professionalism and kindness can be a challenge in such a busy and demanding service, so the person working Saturday morning is obviously an absolute boss. Give her a raise! I'll definitely choose this location in the future and recommend it to anyone I know in Albuquerque - that's how awesome her customer service is. My original drop off location was closed without a drop box, etc. I ended up on the phone with Uhaul for 45 minutes trying to figure out what to do. They ended up letting me take it to this location and I wish I knew the names of the two guys who helped me. I traveled from Albuquerque to Dallas. The air conditioner was intermittent at best. Eventually it just stopped working. We were driving across the great plains in late May. So we had to take our time too research the problem with a highly qualified mechanic. We called the company and they said we had to wait for one of their certified repairman. However, we're not going toSit on the side of the road for several hours in the heat for them to arrive. We had to put in the Freon into the air conditioning system. At our own personal cost. I will be calling corporate on this. We need to get reimbursed for our cost of the mechanic in the Freon. Not to mention the several hours we spent with a non-functioning at conditioning system.Tim R.

I got to the location to return my trailer at 4:55 but they were assisting another customer. The guy walked over at 4:59 and told me they are technically closed and I had to check in my trailer online and disconnect it and everything myself. I got there before 5 so I wouldn't have to do that, I am 56 and have long nails. It was hard to do and I cut my finger doing it. I don't appreciate that it would have taken him a minute to unhook and check it in, and he didn't do it. Not good customer service in my book.Lori H.

We encountered a couple of hiccups during our time there. First, the clerk who checked us in was unable to program an access control card so instead had us pick a pin code. Not a big issue until 6 weeks into the rental period when we were confronted by a female employee who we had not encountered before who admonished us for failing to swipe the card reader or use the pin code.. Once the situation was explained she provided an access card. The second glitch came when 2 weeks into the rental period we were surprised to find we were locked and tagged out of the space due to an unapproved padlock that was against their policy. Again, I explained that at check in I told the clerk I had my own lock that secured the rented Uhaul trailer during the trip out. At no time did she ask to see my lock or explain about their padlock policy. A policy approved lock was provided and our space was freed up for use. Finally, big time kudos to Andrea R. She is a most professional, competent and friendly individual. She should be considered an asset to your company. Give that girl a raise! Facility is very nice and has many things for sale that all U-Haul locations do not. Staff were very friendly. Only thing is I wish there would have been more information provided about the storage facilities as I have never used u-haul before. The door to the loading/unloading does not work unless you ask an employee to unlock it, and the afterhours entrance is on the side of the building and we did not find it until searching for quite some time. Upon our arrival the ladies manning the counter were friendly and helpful in determining the proper size unit needed to store our stuff. The explanation of the storage unit rental and access was detailed and easy to understand. We were shown the courtesy carts to off-load our items and offered us water during our time there. As a customer I got a key card to access my unit. Worthless. Every time I arrived, my card wouldn't work. Worse, the access panel would say welcome! You have access! Then I would wave my arms at the motion sensor door like an idiot. It wouldn't open. I had to go stand in line at the front desk. On at least three occasions my payment was screwed up with no apology. I recently called to update my credit card for auto-pay, the associate over the phone indicated the computer system was a little delayed but the change would updated once the computer system was up and running. Fortunately, two months after not receiving the confirmation I was told I would be receiving, I decided to call to see if the payment was ever processed. The first call, I was informed that everything went through and my payment had been processed successfully. My most recent inquiry, I was told my CC had been declined. When I asked what CC was on file,the associate informed me that if a CC is declined, that information is deleted. The associate made it seem like I was at fault. My question: How do I know it wasn't a data entry error committed by Uhaul personnel? Because, I supplied that same CC information during the original call which been successfully processed on 2nd call. When I asked these questions, the associate (Patricia) was steadfast that is was my fault. The frustration in her voice was very apparent when she rudely announced, Well, I don't know what happened before but your card was declined! I did inform her that this was the same card I had used previously when I was told it was processed successfully. Now I'm being told something completely different. Rude Patricia said well I can send you the confirmation to your email. Please do, but I am still confused about what happened. Her rude response: Well, you can speak to the manager. I replied, that would be great. Well, I'll have him call you. And then she abrutly hangs up the phone. I have yet received that call from the manager or the email confirmation for the most recent payment. Based upon the history, I would be surprised if I get call in the future stating my account is in the arrears or worst yet, my belongings were auction due to non-payment.Derwin M. | First Impressions

I saw online with my rental 1 month free storage but no way to do that online. I called and was told it had to be done in person. When I arrived I was then told the free month was only for one way trips. This wasn't explained online or when I called. So misleading. Then when I checked the vehicle out I was told "The gas tank is full, please return it that way or be charged $3+ per gallon needed". I put 19.5 miles on the truck, and it took 4.8 gallons. When I told them that would be 4 miles to the gallon (I showed them pictures of the gas pump totals) I was told it gets 10 miles to the gallon, so that's double what it should have been. The attendant then told me "Well I can't reimburse you", so I asked that it be taken off he total, which they refused. I argued with him for a while about it, and then told him to just charge it so I could leave. He walked away and I stood there for about another 5 minutes before I noticed he was cleaning the truck. I walked over and asked if we were finished and he said "Oh, yeah, we were finished earlier". Was he gonna just let me stand there all day because he was mad about me arguing about the gas costs??!! Talk about deception and crap customer service!! I'll never rent from your location again (and maybe not even Uhaul in general) with that kind of BS happening.
