I had to change my drop off time to a later time. I called the Regional Scheduling Office and spoke with Haley. Haley was absolutely phenomenal!!! I told her what my issue and request was. Without blinking an eye, Haley quickly and efficiently changed my drop off time from 10AM to 12 Noon without further charges being imposed. Thank you Haley!! I sincerely appreciate your assistance and how friendly and helpful you are. Amazing service!!!

we could not figure out drop off with the I phone. This was confusing. Maybe we just needed to drop keys in the after hour box? This was not clear. we have used this location before, a very helpful man who is U haul employee who was leaving work(office locked due to after hours) helped my husband and did the drop off activity to help my husband who could not figure our I phone drop off.

We had reserved a srorage unit 2 months ahead at dropoff. We confirmed it day oc dropoof while inbound to Maine from Colorado. Rented a 6 by 12 trailer with ramp for 12 hours. Trailer had oil on the mid deck that caused 2 60+ Year olds to slip and fall. Returned the trailer on time at 7 pm. Office doors were locked. No problem until I saw the next morning that I was billed for 2 days (double charged). Could not get through to the location by phone. Uhaul.com did let me send them a message which I did this AM and have not had a response.

The first van that I got in had an "oil change required" indicator lit so I asked for another van. The second van had the same oil change required sign lit so I asked an attendant in the parking lot about it (I didn't want to go back to the desk for a third time!) and he said the van was OK, and that they change the oil every month on them but sometimes forget to re-set the lights. I took the van anyway and it was fine but it didn't make me very confident in the overall maintenance of the vehicles there.

Cable harness on trailer was faulty, just need to fully test before renting out. Staff was quick to repair within 1/2 hour so no impact. Giorgi from Georgia was great on trailer return.

Truck with only 4700 miles on it had a strong smell of nicotine, really a shame. Only spent 90 min in the truck but had a headache that lasted all morning. Not sure what can be done to rectify this in the future but it was a disappointment. Location, service, all else was great.

I choose this location because they had a 26' box truck. I was a new U haul customer. The check in process on the smart phone at 4:30am was pretty straight forward however the verification process took a little longer. I wish I had known to bring things like a passport or the other listed forms so my alternate contacts didn't get woken up to a text message from u haul early in the morning to verify that I was who I said I was. The smart phone verification process itself took around 15-20 minutes when it was zero degrees outside in Maine in the winter time. I was happy that I could pick up the truck earlier than when the location opened. I thought the inside of the truck cab would've been cleaner due to the covid pandemic. There was a used face mask on the dash and it was a little grimy. Before returning the truck I sprayed everything down with cleaner and wiped up using paper towels. Those paper towels were pretty dirty by the end. The truck ran great all day. The return the truck after hours process on the smart phone was really smooth and the invoice was really simple, straight forward, and easy to understand. I was nervous about renting the truck when it came to hidden fees that airport rental car companies try to charge you. I didn't see any of this with u haul. The invoice had the exact same rates and numbers that you see/select in the reservation process. As a new customer I learned a few things to do better next time I rent, like bringing a passport and maybe cleaner and paper towels for the cab of the truck but all in all I will be a repeat customer if I need this box truck again.

I recently bought a house and no longer required a storage unit but I had my space for three and a half years and always had a great experience. The staff were great and so helpful and polite. I always felt like my valuables were safe and would definitely recommend using Uhaul for storage needs.

I used the on-line check-in including scanning my license and providing credit card information. I still had to stand in line and wait for the four customers ahead of me. What is the point of online check-in? I saved no time! Your people, especially the ones who connected and disconnected the trailer, were great!

I used this location frequently unfortunately as there aren't other places to rent truck etc that I can find in Portland. About 75% of the time the truck or trailer I'm renting is not in the location on the lot that I was told. My truck yesterday smelled like deodorizer and cigarettes. When someone at this location is helpful and friendly, it is a breath of fresh air, as it doesn't happen very often.

Customer service reps were excellent and helpful. One suggestionâ€"the rep should escort the customer to the truck and point out the basic controls (I had a dome light that wouldn't go off, couldn't find the Hazard switch, had to go inside and ask a rep to come out & show me where these controls were.) Truck ran rough, was older, overhead door needed lubrication, truck didn't appear to have been cleaned recently. Driver's door needed work, it was hard to close properly.

The practice of separate bills for each unit when I had two units led to double very high late fees. I went online and put the payment on auto, then received a few days later a letter telling me that if I put the payment on auto The late fees would be refunded. They were not refunded and I got another late fee the next month for one unit which is when I found out that each unit was charged separately. I went in and explained and the single late fee was refunded, but I was told that it was to late to refund the first two.

We didn't access our storage space much at all, but when we needed to get in we were able to do so and the staff was helpful when we couldn't get our key card to work. We will definitely consider using u-haul again and will recommend to anyone looking for storage in Portland.

RYAN IS A HOME RUN GUY. Unfortunately you have an IDIOT AT YOUR BRUNSWICK OFFICE who wanted to charge a drop-off fee twice the rental fee for a defective trailer rental where the hitch detached while on I295. Only because of my experience driving trucks was I able to prevent what could easily have become a catastrophic accident. And the fellow who rented and hooked up the trailer in S. Portland needs serious training in properly securing the chains. You need guys like RYAN on the job and the schmuck in Brunswick needs to find a job washing dishes. If anybody up the food chain wishes to discuss further, call me. 239-293-8180

I used the uhall drive up storage units in downtown Portland Maine for 3 months. The units were not clean when I took possesion and by design are not well sealed from environmental polution, risk of contamination from adjacent units. On a number of occasions while I was accessing my unit for storage, I noticed people that were using there unit as "tiny homes" smoking, lounging, napping even in their unit.

STAY AWAY!!! They play games after games after games. There is no GM so it's the wild west! They DO NOT honor their own benefits that you pay for that is CLEARLY LISTED ON THEIR SIGNS! They wanna be nosey and watch you with you OWN STUFF. Multiple complaints fall on deaf ears. And if you complain about their crappy service they wnd up taking more of your benefits away but keep charging you the same rate. Multiple complaints to corporate with ZERO resolution. They you feel like your doing something wrong for using the storage unit THAT YOU PAY for. Place is absolute joke!!! I went right down the road to a competitor with NO hesitation. What a complete waste!!!

I ended up not keeping the unit because the 1-800 agent told me the unit was ground floor...or if it was second floor there would be an elevator. Unfortunately, neither was correct - and the stairs were small and would not have allowed us to move in some of our larger items. All the folks at the store were awesome and very helpful.

You need more staff, more parking, more and easier access to interior storage with more bays and more carts, MORE DIRECT ACCESS TO TRAINED AND INFORMED PHONE/COUNTER STAFF. Hire cheap get cheap. Usually young. IMPORTANT: I talked to 2 employees on the call-center line and neither had accurate or satisfactory information both of which was vital and time-sensitive. Third individual had the right info and assurances. I fell on ice on street where I was forced to park because the U-Haul lot was full of trucks and vans on a slow Sunday morning. You charge for EVERYTHING connected to your business. The least you can do is to provide a commensurate service. Doing otherwise labels you as arrogant because you are the "only game in town". Your attitude is "take it or leave it". Have heard it more than once. Now I know first-hand.
