I don't know how to evaluate U-Haul, honestly. The person who physically delivered my u-boxes was super nice and helpful. I don't think any of the bad experiences I write about below are the Albany location's fault. So the ratings above are for the employee I dealt with from Albany, who delivered my U-Boxes and was a great person; this written comment pertains to the U-Box process as a whole, which was terrible. ***Again -- to be absolutely clear -- this is a review of U-Box customer service, NOT the Albany location*** The actual U-Box process was a nightmare. U-Haul phone customer service may honestly be the worst in the business. My U-Box delivery date was missed twice; every time I called to find out what I was going on I was on hold for at least 20-30 minutes and often was transferred multiple times because the phone reps had no idea what was going on. After everything was finally set and my boxes were delivered, My credit card was hit by another charge that I didn't understand. Called again, long hold times again. It took three customer service reps just to explain my bill to me. Such a waste of time and resources. Text chat support doesn't seem to work, I tried to resolve my problems there and nobody ever responded. At least one statement made on the voice recording when calling in appears to be untrue. You're supposed to be able to get a copy of your audio conversation with U-Haul customer service, if you request it. I've asked for a copy twice now and have yet to see anything. In short: my things arrived safely, and they were in great condition, but the delivery date was missed twice, and U-Box customer service needs a complete overhaul.

Horrible experience. Your staff is terrible especially your gm Shannon. .i will never use U-Haul again. The absolutely most unprofessional and anti customer friendly company I have ever worked with. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Trusty Dads were extremely helpful and cheerful We had no contact with the Albany center but Justin and staff at Johnson City NY were very helpful and prompt. No complaints throughout the process. Thanks!

Absolutely unacceptable that Uhaul gave me a 2 hour delivery window (11am-1pm) that wasn't honored, and was over 3 hours late for. The box arrived after 4pm. During a move, when coordinating various services and appointments, this amount of disregard for time on Uhaul's part will certainly make me look elsewhere for moving services.

Uhaul’s internal communication needs improvement.Originally we received 3 pods we only needed 2. We had 2 shipped to South Carolina. Which were stored in the Little River location. All of which were delivered within 3 weeks. We were contually billed for storing the 3rd pod which was returned at the beginning. It took 5 different phone calls each of which was in excess of more than an hour to obtain assurance that the inappropriate and excessive storage charges would be reversed.The delivery and pickup field staff were terrific. The internal administrative staff seemed inept at rectifying the problem within the Uhaul billing system. I am still awaiting the posting of the refund that was finally proposed!
