Both people I dealt with at this drop off location were very friendly and helpful. Since I dropped off during normal business hours they said I could just park in the equipment return area and my receipt would be emailed to me. I did that and the receipt was e-mailed later in the day as promised. A very positive experience.Jeff W.

Truck smells like an ashtray, very slow service, no customer skills at all. Apon return I sat in the return spot for about 10 minutes and nobody showed up to take care of my return. I went inside and waited in line for about a half an hour. On a Saturday afternoon there should be more then two people available for customer service. The line was around 10 deep with two employees available. My time is valuable, I had to wait for to long. This is not good customer service and I will think long and hard before I am a return customer. When I went back in on my pickup to mention the strong smell of smoke in the cab of the truck, I was asked if it was cigarettes or weed. I was then told cigarette smoke was not a problem. I don't think that is the proper statement. The windows say no smoking, not no weed smoking. Needless to say I was not very impressed with my experience.Christopher H.

The employees are wonderful at this location I go there to fill propane a lot. Rented a truck today and it was disgusting, someone had spilled something on the dashboard and had gone down in the vents. It smelled like gross feet and burned my throat. Service was very average. Vehicle was old and its performance was disappointing. The vehicle seemed underpowered and driving it was not a pleasant experience. Vehicle seemed to be near the end of its useful service life. Poor acceleration, noisy engine, generally poor performance. I returned the vehicle earlier than the agreed upon time and I still haven't received a final bill via email more than 12 hours later. The representative I dealt with seemed disinterested, was generally uncommunacative, and in no way could be considered friendly. Honestly, I was very unimpressed with how I was greeted and treated. I'm supposed to rent another moving vehicle later in the month and, due to my recent experience, am seriously considering looking elsewhere. You can do better U-Haul, much better.Aaron L.

Reserved 12 x 6 trailer days ahead and when I went to pick up the trailer, it was there but not usable due to a wiring issue on the U-Haul equipment. I asked to exercise the U-Haul policy stating if a unit is reserved ahead of time but not available to pick up at the scheduled date. U-Haul will issue the customer a $50 credit. I was told this didn't apply because the trailer was there and the U-Haul doesn't state that it has to be usable condition and ready to go. Really!! Is this the best U-Haul can manage in today's competitive environment? In the future I won't think of U-Haul as my go to and won't be recommending U-Haul to friends. Good luck U-HaulRobert A.
I rented a van for less than 2 hours. I had a 4 hour rental time frame. I was charged for a dollie with wheels that I never received and overcharged for the rental that was supposed to be $19.99. I was charged $29.99. I returned the van with a full tank and when I checked out I never got my refund or my receipt. I walked out with the assurance that my receipt with adjustments would be emailed to me but I never received the email. I am not a happy customer.Carol G.

We orig. rented the pick up truck & car trailer for 4 days, we went to your Long Pond Rd., Rochester, NY location to check the car trailer. While we were there we check 2 pick up trucks, They were perfect & very clean!! We decided we needed to add an additional day to be sure we could get it back on time. Told I needed to call a scheduling dept. the person I spoke to was great, told me to call back next day and she would need to see if she could get us another truck as the one we had was rented for that day, When I called back she said she was able to get us Truck & trailer, however from the Ridge Road East Location. So far great!! When we got there day of rental the truck was disgusting!! I have pictures as well as the rental person also marked Truck was not acceptable. As we had time frame to get to car to factory we needed to take that truck. The floors, doors, seats, door handles , area behind seat seat were all loaded with mud, fast food papers, crap and something spilled on on seat upholstery, Also truck stunk with cigarette smoke. I had to use straight simple green (lots) to remove the sticky stuff from steering wheel & door handles!!!!! We used 55 gallon trash bags to cover the seats!!! When we returned the truck & I complained (another person other then when we picked up) said that someone must of done bad job of cleaning. Later I was told this Truck had been stolen & was a recovery. Our satisfaction with this rental Is if anything you owe us!!!!!!! If we had any other choice we would never had taken that truck!Michael T.

Customer service does not exist here. Online day before check-in (skip the line promo) doesn't work! With the rude employee and filthy cab check out was more than an hour long. The truck was old and not safe, not fuel efficient (green bars always at 1 unless not pressing gas pedal) virtually impossible. Steering was bad pulled left constantly. Constant high pitched whistle caused migrain. Air conditioning not cold aND heat from engine was too intense. Also your gas refillsystem need to be improved and what I mean by that is that old truck should have a full tank of gas he should be returned with a full tank of gas if I'm traveling 2000 miles to shouldn't be giving me a a truck with less than a half a tank and then expecting me to fill it up to a half a tank I ended up giving you guys $50 worth of free gas because your trucks are inefficient and system is flawed. How do you measure a tank that you cannot see, also there was only a 30 gallon tank, which makes driving cross country very difficult when gas stations can be 250+ miles apart from each other. We were stranded 2x. Overall uhaul failed big time and I will never use this company again. I do not recommend uhaul for anything go enterprise cleaner trucks and with actual customer service.Trisha C.

We picked up our cargo van on Saturday morning as we've done satisfactorily for the past 15 years and both myself and Mrs. O'Byrne(the payer) came to the same conclusions independantly and we both commented after we dropped off the van a few hours later. Both desk employees, pick up and drop off, were very rude, apparently untrained for their positions and acted as if they were doing us some sort if favor. We both noticed their exceptionally unprofessional behavior independantly and were both insulted by their demeanor. We will not need U-Haul's services going forward.William W.

Im not a fan going extra mile going to uhal website and doing the process of dropping of uhaul i would just like to drop of rental after hour the gentalmen said i can scan the barcode in the front door it didn't work was on hold for 15 with uhal to see if how to just tell uhal i drop if rental but was wating to long i hung up on top of that the guy said if you don't do the website drop of bull they will charge me 20 wtf is that .. this was never a problem back then not happy with uhal drop off situation.Leticia S.

I have been trying to speak with a corporate manager for a week straight now. Calling and emailing every day. First the truck we reserved was given to someone else with no notice to us at all. They said there was nothing else available. I called to say what happened ask for a credit back and help finding another truck ASAP. They said there is another 10' truck available at the same location 6p pickup on Saturday. I expressed how I now needed to pay another crew member extra to pickup on a weekend due to uhauls poor communication. Crewmember gets there just before 6p on Saturday and he's told there is no truck and that we canceled our reservation. We certainly DID NOT. There was back and forth. I tried calling corporate while he was there, but it was mostly pointless bc it was a weekend. He was finally told that they had a cargo van, this was not large enough for us but it was better than nothing. We took it. But we took it under the condition that the branch would hold and call us when the first 10' truck came in and was available so we could swap it out. That never happened. Me instead worked harder and made extra trips and crew members went into OT. Again, I called every day and sent multiple emails detailing what was going on. I expect a call so uhaul can make this right. We JUST set up the corporate account for this job and at this rate we'll be using penske or enterprise moving forward bc uhaul has not done anything to correct their mistakes.Matt C.

Personnel that was at the store at check-in was difficult, did not communicate and was not helpful. HUGE signs on the outside of the building indicated where to go and stop to return equipment. After waiting there 10 minutes, I went into the store and the person said I should go to the to the side of the building. Once he came outside, he stood near the building and stared at me until I asked what he needed. Then he indicated where to park the trailer as if I should have known exactly what to do and where to go.Michael L.

We were told the plug was a simple 5 minute fix- appt time was changed without consulting us then over 2 hours went by as the person struggled to replace only the plug. He was watching a YouTube video of how to actually do the plug change. He â€œthinks he has it rightâ€ but the brake controller is now flashing and the dash cam isn't working. Facility was clean and well-maintained. Jose and Roger (his name might not be Roger - he was working on 11/7/21 and processed our move-out) were super nice and helpful. Everyone else who worked there was incredibly rude. Almost as though they went out of their way to be so. Customer service training may help. Just basics like remember it's okay to smile, greet your customers, don't act like you are doing them a favor every time you have to do your job. Hey Kevin. Not sure how my experience differs from others but others but I constantly had mice in my unit for almost the full 4 years I was there and they nested in my rug, carpet tiles, packaged tv wall mount hangers, tub/box of hand tools and memorabilia and had feces all over the place that ruined a floor lamp and required me to clean everything I had in storage from my 2 bed apartment. I filed a claim with Joshua Buzi at repwest and they said they would get it to local managers to review. Can you tell me how that is going? I would like to be compensated for the items that were ruined trusting that my possessions would be safe at your location. Its not much. I handled most of the issues with my own sweat equity which was actually very tough and big job that I was not planning on doing. I will wait until I hear back before I review further. The reason I answered "No" to question #5 is because I found rodent droppings and what appeared to be urine on several of my items all of which I had to discard. I have 2 complaints. 1. I see no reason whatsoever to give an aquaintance's info to you other than advertising. 2. We didn't care much for the HUNDREDS of mouse turds covering the floor. My storage unit was overrun by mice. Anthing that was wrapped in paper was shredded and they urinated on my furniture. So much was ruined. Overall the storage place is nice and secure with the gated entry. There is light outside the units but no light inside making it hard to see. The area is clean and well maintained but there is a bad rat and mouse issue. The droppings were huge which lead me to believe it is rats. I found a dead small mouse outside my unit as well. They got into one of my bags that you heat up in the microwave and put on your shoulder. Apparently it had grains in there which they sniffed out. They tore it up and got grains everywhere, they made nests in my bedding and chewed through some cardboard boxes. There were several bedding comforters with rat pee and poop and grain where they were clearly sleeping. I'm having to get all my bedding cleaned and some have to be tossed because they chewed holes in it.Ebtisam E. | Overall Experience
Found some mice/rat droppings 3-4 months in and notified staff. Manager gave us his card and said they exterminate regularly and can't control what people have in their storage unit. Moved out a couple months later and everything was FILTHY. Rat/mice droppings everywhere and on everything. Didn't purchase insurance because I didn't think this would be an issue. My experience was excellent other than that I just have one thing that would really really help people (that's why I didn't give five stars). Please please please please please please please I beg of you, do something about the fact that you highly overestimate how much can fit in a storage unit. People rely on your estimates for their move. They do not have their own experience with this. The same problem goes with the u-haul trucks. A storage unit for a one bedroom no way fits a one bedroom. Same with a U-Haul truck, as experienced with a separate apartment's contents by a family member. Even the one to two bedroom storage unit and the one to two bedroom U-haul truck do NOT fit all the contents of a one bedroom. My family member had to change U-Haul trucks twice. Even the moving company I used said that you guys were overly optimistic when it comes to thinking what fits. I am not sure that you realize the implications of this overestimation. If you cannot fit everything into a storage unit, you have to change storage units, which can be an extreme stressor. I had to try three different storage unit sizes. If there is a U-Haul truck that does not fit everything into it not everything can be moved and precious things have to be thrown out and repurchased. I am not sure if the person that owns the company has not moved or experienced this or what is going on. I would recommend sendng out surveys asking people what size fits or so if it is such a problem. I would recommend you do something about this. I don't know why this is done by your company. I don't see the benefit to your company. We are puzzled by this, because you are a very very wonderful company other than that. Your staff is kind and patient, your return policy is excellent, and you are more than willing to help out. In summary, your company is amazing and awesome and your customer service is absolutely excellent. I just went into my recommendations because I thought it would help you with your future customer service as well as your customers. ** Sat night at 10pm went to exit ouside storage as I had done numerous times — the gate wouldn’t open — called UHaul call center who tried GM multiple times and then 911 Irondequoit PD ended up on a call w GM — was instructed to PULL UP about 1 foot closer & push remote - gate opened— POST new SIGNS — I was about 8-10 feet and gate DID NOT OPEN!! Rented storage unit ahead of moving truck arrival. Tried to reach local office by phone to make arrangements for trailer for several days with no response. Nobody answers the phone at this location and staff seems untrained and uninterested. Several people were there in person complaining about truck rentals and inability to communicate with staff. Rented storage for less than a month and are now attempting to reach office again to cancel since we no longer need unit. Once again, no answer. Would not recommend.jose g. | Overall Experience

I had a very difficult time getting my reservation found. Wasted a half our to hear can't find it, must be at another location. Cost an extra $100 for movers to wait. Very upsetting. For only 2 people being there, they tried their best. Waited 45 minutes to get my storage unit. Had to do it twice to get the bill correct as they didn't do the 30 days free. Went to where they told us to go and had to wait another 15 minutes before the poor desk person could come back and show us how to enter the unit and find our storage unit.
