I used U-haul for a day and I would say the worst experience I had in my life. Don't go to u-haul Rexdale location. Very unprofessional staff. A lady asked for my credit card and she handed my credit card in her hand and entered details by herself. I got charged for two days though I booked U-haul for a day only. In addition to that, They charged me for safe movers for two days and I even didn't ask for that. Overall I ended up spending $60 more. I tried to call multiple times but still haven't gotten my full refund yet. I am in waiting for a call since last more than an hour and this is how U-haul treats their past customer. I will never ever book u-haul in my life and I won't recommend anyone. worst worst worst......

In the past I have had Excellent service at this location. However on return this visit I had to wait 10 minutes for trailer to be inspected and the after another 15 minutes detached the trailer by myself at the storage area. Not impressed!

I booked a one way car over a month before my move and was called 2 days before to change to a round trip which is incredibly inconvenient when you are moving out of the city and defeats the purpose of using your services. On top of that the reps are incredibly rude and only called me a few days before the trip meaning there were no trucks in the area that I was residing in. They tried to give me a truck in the east end which would have meant an extra hour commute coming back then going home.

My truck was double booked I didn't appreciate arguing with other customers. I reserved my truck for 9 to 3pm.I lost 40 minutes before I drove away and am pissed that I was told if truck is not back at 3 I would be charged a 50 dollar penalty because they told me the truck is rented out after me. I thought the price of 19.95 plus 89 cents a km was for 24 hours. Customers beware.

Customer service was very poor there's more attitude then anything when trying to get information or ask a question,was poorly greeted and even worse when dropping off the truck was given a hard time poor directional skill s,attitude,kissing of teeth and little explanation then rudely told where to park with no clear direction then yell at to move the truck and told that's not what we told you,one person was in front of I was told to wait there's many cars ahead and the female who was cleaning the car was extremely rude and was giving cut eye.... I was never treated more poorly at a usual location then this one and will probably pay movers yo move my stuff before I ever rent a u haul

The people working there are very bad, very rude and very slow. I waited 45 minutes for the trailer to be delivered and there was only one person in my life. Only one person works at the safe. Others are sitting in the room and I waited outside for 15 minutes to deliver the trailer, so I went inside when no one came. I stayed, he told me that he did not want to go out in the cold and he said to do the process over the phone. I go there because it is very close to my work, but I guess I will not go again if I don't have to.

My pick up location was changed less than an hour before, causing a lot of time and inconvenience of many people (as I was dropped off and left at 1st location). Drop off location didn't exist (Bracebridge). We tried 3 locations before finally leaving the truck in Gravenhurst. Customer Service was over an hour wait to get thru, only to hang up on me when we finally got our call back. I'm yet to find out if you know where your truck was finally left (luckily with an actual dealer and keys handed over to a live person). I left the truck with $70's worth of gas, it was handed over to me empty. Unfortunately not a positive experience all around. Susie

Overall it was good. I've rented from this location before so I sort of knew what to expect. Originally I booked a guaranteed trailer at Weston/Albion road, which wasnt there when I arrived on time. Poor customer service feom that location overall. The gentleman seen iffed I asked to call another location nearby that he suggested to ensure they had a trailer before I went on a wild goose chase. Would not rent there again.

The lot is small for all the vehicles that are available. When I went to pick up my vehicle, it was parked behind another one. Got the keys for the front vehicle only to find out the tranny was stolen. If a worker was not present when I turned on the engine, I would have driven away not knowing there was the tranny issue. The staff behind the counter was very fast helping with all my issues though. That made all the difference in my experience.

EQUIPMENT: The "automated" walk around the vehicle is a massive waste of MY time. It took me about 20 minutes to navigate through the process. By the time I was done, I was irritated. Then, once I was on the road, I discovered there was no antenna so I could not listen to any radio stations, FM faded in and out, AM was static. The gas level was incorrect; there was no indication whether the vehicle had been sanitized; gas consumption is horrendous. MILEAGE - I started my trip with odometer at just over 19,000km. There was a sticker in the upper left corner of the windshield saying the next service was due at 16,000km. I had no idea whether or not the vehicle would break down or malfunction - chances are the service was performed and the old sticker was not removed but I am not certain. Does not give you a lot of confidence that the vehicles are maintained. CUSTOMER SERVICE - CHECK OUT: the associate that served me was ok however coworkers were more concerned with having breakfast. There were 3 associated behind the counter with one watching the other two even though there was a lineup. My surname is misspelled. Not all associates behind the counter were wearing masks. CHECK IN: the associate outside was pleasant and efficient. I went inside to obtain a copy of my final receipt. Once again, 3 associates behind the counter with one watching the two working. The associate that I spoke with was the same one that checked me out in the morning. I told her about the radio and no antenna and she said she would send the vehicle for repair. I have rented U-haul vehicles from other locations on numerous occasions and have never run into so many issues in one rental contract. I don't think I'll be back to this location.

Obey your commitment to your clients. I booked a truck 1 month in advance to move my daughter to another city and my reservation was for a 20” truck with drop off at the destination city. 4 days before the move I get a call that said I had to return the truck at the renting location and not destination. This was not possible to do that same day so I got a free day at least to return it. At 4pm the day before move day I phoned UHaul to confirm everything was good and that I would have the 20 truck the next day at the agreed pick up time of 2:30pm. All good they said! Well I get there the next day and there is no 20” truck !!!! What???? They offer a 15” or 26”. Had to take the 26” as 15” was too small even though we were not comfortable with such a big truck. But they said that we had to return it the next day. The hell no I replied. I will return it 3 days later AS PER AGREED reservation. And they would just have to figure out what to do with the next angry customer. The management of your rental fleet is worst than poor.

The poor girl working the desk was awesome and working as fast as she could. There were 7 people in line ahead of me. The wait was quite long. About half way through our collective wait, a second staff member came in from outside and was quite unprofessional and rude to her. He berated her in front of all the customers for making an error that anyone could have made under the conditions she was working.

I scheduled a rental of a open 6X12 trailer. When I got the the trailer wouldn't fit due to the tire on the back of the keep. They were kind enough to swap it out for a really small trailer they had available. I think a 4x8. When I returned the trailer . I found out that I had taken the new trailer without them updating the computer. I had the biggest issue returning because the 6x12 was rented by someone else under my name and they could not figure out how to update my contract because it was closed. Terrible experience and terrible customer service. The girl I returned it too was more worried about the computer ready she fixed it than helping. I spent close to an hour at the counter trying to return it.

Everybody was nice and helpful, yet Uhaul could improve some things. I was given a form with the lever of fuel in the truck marked on it but it showed considerably more than the vehicle's actual fuel gauge. I was told by staff how to deal with this issue. (I was also told that any discrepancy when the truck is returned would be billed to me at a high price per litre.) When returning the truck, the friend who I had listed as the main driver mistakenly put far too much fuel in the truck and in that instance I was informed I would receive no credit whatsoever. This is an insulting double standard. There were scratches and scrapes which meant I had to submit my own photos to correct the ones on the site, at least one of which was of a different truck altogether, suggesting possible deliberate deception or maybe just a strange sort of mix-up. Lastly, there were four large pennants hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the office. These promised illusory savings on supplies. "Extra large box, $3.96 each, bundle of 10 only $39.60. SAVE $9.90" Actual saving of course is: $0.00! Next was "Large box $2.59 each, Bundle of 15 only $38.85, SAVE $11.40" Actual saving $0.00. Thirdly, "Medium box, $1.99 each, Bundle of 20, only $39.80, SAVE $7.20" Actual saving $0.00. Finally, there is "Small box, $1.19 Each, bundle of 25, $29.75, SAVE $4.00" unless it was $4.50, I'm not certain from the photo of this one. In any case, the actual saving was once again $0.00 . This whole experience makes Uhaul seem rather greedy, less than honest and manipulative. This is unfortunate because your service is otherwise exceptionally fine. Calling at 10.20 PM from Toronto and getting a gentleman on the phone quickly down in the USA who was able to answer every question was a wonderful relief. He was calm, polite, professional, patient and kind. We had an emergency with a friend and with one day's notice I was able to move him on the first of the month thanks to Uhaul. It was in some ways an exemplary experience and it's such a shame that it was marred by the issues I described above.

The place was clean enough. And the man in the lot, Michael was fine. He was friendly. But the two women in the office who received customers and handled rental contracts gave me the WORST retail experience I have ever had in my entire life. They were surly and unhelpful. They ignored me unless I called them several times. And I was met with nearly a prison camp guard warmth. While one person was working up a locker rental contract for me, she was gabbing away on the phone with a friend. If I were the boss, these people would be worst possible nightmare employees. They should N-O-T hold any kind of position where they deal with customers and the public. These two are R-U-I-N-I-N-G the good image of U-Haul. It seemed to me they hated customers and I was an unwanted presence. I was ASTOUNDED. Made me laugh, actually at the absurdity and my disbelief that this could actually be happening. Good luck fixing this mess, U-Haul. If I were you, I would take a look at who even hired these two.

I've moved into two other self-storage facilities in GTA recently. U-Haul on Rexdale was the best by far. I'm a female. I could not lift the door on the locker in one facility any more than 2 and 1/2 feet. It was hard getting in and out. I vacated my items without even asking for a refund. The other facility didn't bother to clean out the locker before renting. I ended up spending a day purchasing a small broom, and sweeping the entire locker ... I am not comfortable with the locker without having washed the floor, so I keep a box of sanitary wipes in the locker. The security at U-Haul is excellent because access hours are limited, and there appears to be a number of people always around. It is very very very clean and apparently, the lockers are kept in good repair. Furthermore, the staff are very considerate and friendly. The individual who introduced me to the locker initially, took the time to be very explicit and clear in her instructions. If U-Haul on Rexdale, had a locker large enough, I would definitely be staying despite this location being quite a distance from my home in North York.

My only comment is a person blocked direct entrance to the "unloading area". I am a senior citizen and found it difficult to unload my belongings. He didn't move his vehicle to make our job easier. The frustrating part for me is that he was still there after we had unloaded and left.
