I had issues with the app not wanting to process my contract, apparently because I logged in to it too early. The staff was able to help reset their system, but it would be great for the back-end developers to add an error message of some kind because the only message I got was thay they were processing my contract, not that I was loggin in too early or at the incorrect time frame for processing the documents (it wasn't entirely clear what was causing the error, but the staff was able to fix it for me)

I never recommend to my friends. They gave me a very old truck which is not at all in good condition. I drove 250kms with that truck. I never felt safe. No proper brakes, wheel alignment is not good. I spent $370 for this old truck. I never ever go with Uhaul again.

15 people in line and two staff serving same people for thirty minutes. I can get a mortgage at a bank quicker. Excuse was app not working yet it was working. Not helpful though as I still waited in line over 1.5 hours to rent a trailer. App useless as it speeds up nothing. Called head office received gift certificate. Tried to use it in office. Staff sent me outside to deal with. Outside staff said they don't deal with gift certificates. Went back to office but closed. I gave up and drove home. Terrible experience will not be returning .

There was no warning in advance that this location will no longer allow for mobile pick-up at night AND, they changed their policy to not allow for Van rental if you don't have a local (Ontario) license. I planned my trip around flying in to move my 80 year old mother and both of these factors caused incredible stress on the front end of the trip. Otherwise, the rental and website itself were top notch. Owners of individual locations should not be permitted to alter rules without any notice and still take reservations that don't account for their individual policies.

There were hidden costs not showed in website when i did the booking. I had to wait 1 hr to get the van due to the lacking customer service. The woman in the desk lied to me about the km charging she told me to give a random number of km because it was not important while it turned out they charged the number of km i gave to her as an approximate number with 0.79 per km and the difference was charge higher this was not explained in the webpage and the person in the desk did not explain this to me. I was not told that i had to fill the fuel back to the level it was it was not in your webpage when i booked and it was not told by me by the customer service lady in the desk. I had to ask my wife to call customer service to confirm just because i realized the service was not fair and transparent so i suspected they you wanted also the fuel back. The van was good but service and comminication was lacking and price not transparent. I will never recommend u haul to my friends moreover will advise to go with other rental providers.

Horrible customer service experience - long check in line, not enough reps to help people, told to use app to check in & the app wasn't working properly, my verification contacts were each called twice when I finally was able to check in - then the moving blankets I ordered weren't in the truck & after I returned the truck U-Haul had the nerve to call me & say that I hadn't returned the blankets! I will never use U-Haul again.

I booked a 20 foot truck 2 weeks ago in Scarborough, 3 days ago they called me and said that there are no 20 foot trucks, there are only 26 for the price of 20. I agreed. I went into the app, it says 15 foot truck booked. I called uhole back to clarify, they told me that there are no 26 foot trucks in Scarborough at all and that I need to go to Etobicoke and pick up this truck there. They promised a discount and that the total amount would be $ 102. On the day of the move, I went to Etobicoke to pick up the truck, but they told me that they don't have anything at all except 15 foot trucks. Then the employee finally found a 26 foot truck, but told me to return it before 3 PM. I refused, then she said that I can return it at 6:30 PM. I asked about the discount, she confirmed that the discount remains. In the end, there was no discount and I paid $ 155. very terrible service, I am honestly shocked, how can you treat your clients like that, changing your mind on the fly and not fulfilling the conditions that you yourself proposed. I spent a lot of nerves and time on this move. Next time I will choose another company

The counter wait time to get service is so looooong. There was about 6 people waiting in line, 2 to 3 staff members behind the counter but only one is working. The rest are just walking around and not helping. Anyways 30mins they said go outside and someone will assist you. Went outside another 30mins just waiting and watching the outside staff doing their own thing, walking in the opposite direction. No one approached and asked if and what I needed help with. People were now driving in and asking questions the the employees in the yard and not attending to me. I had to ask someone how long is the wait.. he said I didn't know you were waiting, no one said anything to him.

Please check equipment very well before taking out and let the staff know... they are wonderful but if you do not notice a damage at pickup and inform them you could be charged on the return. Rented many times and the staff are professional.

Came in to pick up at 830, walked in and waited in line at 820. Employee at front desk was burnt out and was getting very impatient with previous customers. They were poorly multitasking 4 people at once. A man came in as I was being served asked for a truck and they knew the man, they asked for cash, she took $100 bill from him, gave him a key and he walked out. People who came in before me were being served first. I walked out of there at 850 after a 5 min interaction. Never coming to this location again as it was an unwelcoming environment. Need another employee in the morning to help the front desk.

Only one employee attending the counter on a Friday. I would imagine that's the busiest day of the week. Had to wait an hour before being served only to be told that the Rexdale location was an App location only? I witnessed a number of clients being turned away due to this rule. The hidden fees with the '19.95' a day signage is quiet aggravating. Being charged a full day rate but needing to return it after 4 hrs (I mentioned it would likely 4 hrs of work) - and qhen I asked to keep it for the day as I paid for that rate it would be an additional 36 dollars. Also having to go thru the app to check in and out is a slow tedious process there were 3 workers sitting and chilling as myself and others struggled with the app. The workers themselves were but deferred to use of app and

Change my pick up address 1 hour away, doesn't have my truck (20 feet), new location don't have it ready (customer return late), I end up need to rent a return truck. Super confusing pick-up protocol online. Agent promised me 60 dollar + 100km, the new rental in the new place end up costing me 160. Good point with 50 dollar credit, but overall very disorganized and terrible. Would not recommend.

This is not about the Rexdale location. I had a very bad experience when I reserved a cargo trailer on the uhaul app. My reservation was changed without notifying me about the change. Instead of the cargo trailer, I was given a utility trailer. My good luck I was able to change the reservation. This is very bad customer service.

Getting the truck was an absolute nightmare. Not enough staff helping people. It took almost an hour. Luckily I found one staff member who helped me. He gets 5 stars. Did not appreciate having to pay $70 for the last renters fuel. Truck showed 3/4 full when I left...a mile down the road it showed 1/8 of a tank. Gauge must have been stuck.

The rental and return app. The app is to busy, and dificult to follow. It needs to be more step by step with a rent equipment icon that is out in your face. Same goes for the return of equipment, the check in needs a out in your face icon as well all within all three explanation , and step by step direction. I spent 45 minutes at the counter trying to get checked in, when I could have been driving down the road. Great idea, just a work in progress.

The equipment was clean, however it sounded very old and rickety. I vehicle made a lot of squeaks. However, the most disappointing thing is that U-Haul has a policy of forcing customers to download their app to pick up a vehicle. This created a long lineup of individuals that came to the location, and couldn't be served by the staff due to forcing customer to download the app to complete the pick up process. U-Haul should give individuals the option of picking up through the staff or fully online.

Takes too long to go pick up or to return. The u haul app is okay.. but needs to be more easier to do. Inside the U haul store, should be clearly identify as express line for using haul app..or a video to understand the procedure. I have not used haul before.. first time... could have been more efficient in terms of helping to go through the process.. I came early as requested...but waited a full hour before I could go on my way with the haul van.. Make the process more simplicity would bring back repeat customers... I have doubts to use uhaul again after that experience... My honest thoughts..

I rent from U-Haul often and I will not be returning to this location. Staff was not helpful, I have called the uhaul customer service to describe my experience and I am waiting for a call back to see how it will be resolved. The new U-Haul in Oakville is much better service and I will rent from there instead as rexdale was rude, unhelpful, and got caught in a lie. I don't appreciate U-Haul staff lying to me for no benefit of their own. They said I had to rush back with my trailer because someone else was going to rent it and when I rush back they had two empty trailers the exact same size and model on the lot ready to rent, I parked my trailer as the third one on the lot so they did not need my trailer to rent it out immediately as they described to me on the phone.

I don't think I would rent from U-Haul again for the fact that I left the vehicle with over 1/2 tank of gas and was told the 1/4 of a tank would not be credited back to me. If you need to take an extra 30 dollars from me let me know before I rent the vehicle. I tried my best to judge the amount of gas I would use and actually used less gas returning with a full truck from my destination. It would not of been that difficult to credit the amount back. I learnt the tank was going to only be 1/4 filled after the rental transaction was completed. Gas tanks should be full when rented then returned full. This made a very pleasurable experience sour.

We recently opened a corporate account with U-Haul and have rented a few times in the past. Pickup of the vehicle was quite difficult as the service rep at the counter could not process the rental through our corporate card on file and insisted that the driver put it on his own card. This delayed the pickup but a significant amount of time and affected our project that day. Inside the facility was clean, well lit and felt secure. But access to the facility was wide open the last three times we were there - after being inaccessible the time before that, when it took more than 10 minutes for someone to come open it for the multiple customers waiting. That person didn't seem to know what to do, set the automatic doors to open without requiring a card swipe, and it appears no one has touched it since. All interactions with the staff were slow, with no explanation for the delay, and several staff seemed borderline competent at best. When we closed our account we were asked what was wrong with the units floor, which was exactly the same as when we got the unit. If there's a problem with a unit you're renting out, shouldn't you be keeping track of that, like with a rental car? Overall we were not impressed at all with our experience and will definitely look elsewhere in future.

The only reason I didn't give it excellent which is a five stars is due to the increases of rental rates. Especially because the rate was higher than some of the competition prices after being a customer for a few years. I feel like the storage unit caters to attracting new people but not trying to maintain existing individuals. I know that this comes from had office located in Texas but it was important to increase the prices twice within a 6-month period during the pandemic.

Uhaul, in its entirety, is the most useless, unorganized, neglectful, unsafe business I have ever seen. I honestly don't know how you're still in business. Every possible thing that you could screw up with my move, you did. 100%. I reserved a trailer, weeks ahead. You messed up the date, time and city of pickup! Your employee didn't attach the trailer properly and it came off, thankfully nobody died. You messed up my storage in Drop off city. Your staff is clueless and rude. They get mad and rude if you call them out on their screw ups. Absolutely useless company and I can't wait until you talk to my lawyer. As I've already informed you, that's on the way.

I’m really with the service but the problem is the employee One lady who’s assisting me knows that she have to take the second lock out but she went for lunch then I ask another employee and she said she’ll call the one helping me before I was waiting but I found out she’s on the phone just talking and planning for their weekend party ,what kind of customer service is that but in general I’m really happy with the U-Haul service and recommend Rogers and Weston Rd branch compare to Rexdale Branch Thank you

I requested to hold my property due to until resolution of family legal issues several times. However no one listen my request and dispose of my property. It's not good for organization. I don't know how legal department of local U-Haul at Toronto area works. Main office and local storage facility working different ways one says it's going to auction and local storage facility GM dispose. Good job. I lost $50,000 property. Gracias

I really needed a storage unit so I thought U-Haul would be a good bet so I reserved one online and got a moving company to help me move all my belongings as I am alone here in toronto as a student once we got to the unit a very rude and unfriendly staff member told me "no we have no storage go somewhere else" I was confused as I had reserved the unit but apparently it's first come first serve U-Haul do better you need to make sure people know this because what am I supposed to do? I had all my stuff with me with no where else to go an hour away from my friends house where I was staying and I had to pay my moving company for three extra hours because of this ordeal. The lady would not help me whatsoever and I started crying then all of a sudden she was like there is another facility (this was all at the Queensway facility) the other place was rexdale Blvd so we drive there about 30 minutes away and get there and they also tell me no u it's but the lady at the previous place told me she had called and reserved a u it for me there I was furious and did not know what to do like come on U-Haul plus the lady at the fest had no idea whatsoever how to do her job they do not what to help you here. Then the manager comes out and they talk and she says yes sure we have a unit. Finally my stuff moved in I leave it there for exactly one month and I come back to get it and there are literal cockroaches on my furniture so many of them half dead and half alive it was disgusting I had to throw my stuff away I told the staff and they did not seems to care they just told me to call this number as per usual with businesses like these. Absolute nightmare will never be going to U-Haul again and I would never suggest anyone else go ever very bad customer service and awful standards absolutely not.

I rented a space for 10 years at the same location. At one point I moved to another unit to downsize and my original unit was FULL of mouse droppings, on the floors AND on my items. Upon leaving this second unit - although it wasn't as bad - I also had to get of many items again due to mouse droppings. I did tell them at the counter both times, and they just went "Oh"....nothing was ever done...I kind of thought that might be part of why I paid for insurance for those years? Perhaps in the future, damage from mice should be covered in the insurance and customers should be compensated. I also didn't like the fact that there are no bins for disposing of trash items. (Actually, there is but you have to pay). I spent 10 years and approximately $36,000 there (on a minimum wage job) and thought that wasn't fair. Also, I drove to that location NUMEROUS, NUMEROUS times only to have absolutely ZERO parking available. I couldn't afford to pay the extra money to have 24 hour access. Like I said, most days in the mornings there was NO parking to be had. And I work until 8:00 - 9:00 pm so couldn't get there after work. The wait in the line is always FAR TOO LONG. When picking up my reserved cargo van yesterday, I was in line for about 45 minutes. Before moving, I have often waited 20-40 minutes just to make a storage payment. I often had to leave there to go to work before I could get my payment processed. (I had no credit card at the time to do my payments on line). I do feel that the storage units are safe. The general area is tidy (with the exception of the rodents, which can be VERY damaging and costly to customers)! The staff are okay, but I think they could DEFINITELY use more help in there! And MORE parking....or a different area for staff parking, as they often occupy all of the customer spots!

I find the pricing for a 10x10 absolutely ridiculous. When asking the staff why the prices are like this they told me that it was head office which was located in texas. They then provided me with the phone number to contact somebody in Texas. When I contacted Texas they told me it was the general manager who made the decision of constantly raising the price when I had actually gotten in touch with the general manager which took about 3 to 4 business days, the general manager said that she was not the one that decided upon this and it was head office. So ultimately each location just gave me the runaround between Rexdale in Ontario and then head office in texas. They are not competitively priced. I will be moving not too long from now out of this unit because I had found a better unit in Vaughan which was an indoor unit, unlike the unit that I have right now with U-Haul. Their prices were much cheaper than yours.

Since I arrived to Toronto from Ottawa with the U-Haul truck, I called Rexdale location and asked if I could park the truck there overnight as I am moving in the next morning (Monday) into a storage unit as I couldn't get movers during Sunday through U-Haul; they were very accommodating. I arrived and the staff were so friendly, she walked me to the storage and assisted me with the access. Those reviews on Google are so harsh and don't do justice to the staff at this location. I reserved a storage unit which they gave to a another customer. I was offered a bigger unit with no payment for the first month. When I went back to the unit there was a lock for bib payment after I was told I wouldn't have to pay for the first month. When it was time to move to a smaller unit after the first free month, they didn't know how to process the payment and another lock was put on my unit for non payment. The lady at the counter proceeded to gossip about her co worker who she claimed gave away my unit and told me to come back on a different day so the manager can fix as she is unable to

For a starter head office told me over the phone when I reserved the unit that it was going to be $1 for the first month since I was renting a moving truck with them which to i already had reserved BUT when I picked up the truck for the 2 days to complete the move went back to get the unit and needles to say I was charged a full amount on the storage $289+tax i was told that the $1 fee only applies to those who are coming from other town I was also charged extra $60 for being 1 hour late returning the truck when I wasn't even past my 48hrs on the rental of the truck also I was charged on my mastercard before I even picked up the truck when I specifically Buy customer service then I could use other methods of payment. SO AT THE END OF ALL THIS I WAS BETTER OF GETTING A MOVING COMPANY TO COMPLETE MY MOVE IT WOULD HAVE COST ME LEES THANE WHAT I PAID IN 2 TIME TRUCK RENTAL AND STORAGE THAT WAS ONLY USED FOR 5 DAYS VERY DISAPPOINTED

I've moved into two other self-storage facilities in GTA recently. U-Haul on Rexdale was the best by far. I'm a female. I could not lift the door on the locker in one facility any more than 2 and 1/2 feet. It was hard getting in and out. I vacated my items without even asking for a refund. The other facility didn't bother to clean out the locker before renting. I ended up spending a day purchasing a small broom, and sweeping the entire locker ... I am not comfortable with the locker without having washed the floor, so I keep a box of sanitary wipes in the locker. The security at U-Haul is excellent because access hours are limited, and there appears to be a number of people always around. It is very very very clean and apparently, the lockers are kept in good repair. Furthermore, the staff are very considerate and friendly. The individual who introduced me to the locker initially, took the time to be very explicit and clear in her instructions. If U-Haul on Rexdale, had a locker large enough, I would definitely be staying despite this location being quite a distance from my home in North York.
