The owner/manager was deceptive and nasty. Also, he was unaccommodating when I complained about not being notified in advance of picking up the equipment that I would need an "alternate contact." I booked a moving crew so any delay in picking up my equipment was problematic. He just turned his back and walked away.Michael B.

It started raining when picked up... immediately upon leaving the wipers were scraping glass and not remove rain. Next day the rear tire on transport trailer went flat and it was noted the tire was worn down to wear bar. Roadside assistance also replace left rear tire as it was also near failure. Poor signage. Apparently I was supposed to pull up to a certain space in a very large parking lot. I did not know this. A u-haul rep watched me go into the store to find someone, then watched me walk around trying to find a rep in the parking lot. Finally, I approached a truck with someone in it, only to find that it was the person that was supposed to check me in. I had a truck & storage unit reserved for Wednesday, but my stuff was put out on a lawn on Monday! Thank GOD Uhaul had inventory for both the truck and the unit on Monday. The guy who helped me was sensitive to my ridiculous situation and got me hooked up with everything I needed. This was unfortunately a wasted rental. So $50 down the tubes and 2 hours of wasted drive time. Rented a 6' trailer online, however, the opening at the back of the ramp is only 5'8â€ - what I needed to carry was 5'10â€ - that would be good to inform people booking online of in advance in an obvious format, it would have saved a lot of time and frustration.BRIAN K.

Computer slow down was a bit frustrating at the initial pick up time. It was a bit inconvenient to have the bathroom out of order after a long day of moving when I dropped off the vehicle. Over sensitive flat tire sensor was initially nerve wracking. Luckily I asked about it before I left so that I knew that it was likely to go on & off during the day. My drop off location was supposed to be changed. I was told it was after I waited on hold for 30 minutes to change it. We got to the drop off location and they had no record of the trailer. The lady I called didn't even know I had a trailer currently. Moving for retired individuals is not the easiest especially when friends have not been established that well in an unfamiliar area. With several knee operations and back problem for myself and unusual hot summertime it drained us down to almost to medical help. When checking out to pick up the truck there was NOT ONE mention of gas or if we had to fill the truck up when we brought it back. I thought that was the point of charging for the mileage. The entire management needs improvement there's definitely some scammy stuff going on at this location. I registered for a nonspecific drop off but they changed our contract 20 minutes after we left without my knowledge (THATS ILLEGAL) and made it to where we had to drop it off in kittredge Colorado. They said we would have to pay extra to change our drop off location because somebody else had already requested the truck to be picked up after our drop off. I fail to see how that is our responsibility or our problem considering kittredge was 40 minutes out of our way. Lisa did offer us an extra hundred miles off but that does not pay for the gas in the U-Haul nor does it pay for the gas in our other vehicle or for the inconvenience. She refused to be compliant with us until my boyfriend admitted to wanting to make a formal complaint to U-Haul itself. It Is extremely unprofessional rude. She also lied about not doing unknown drop-offs anymore and stated that there was no way for us to have an unknown drop off location without having a flat pay rate which is a lie considering I had already paid for the U-Haul per my contract that stated an unknown drop off. Her mployer who helped reserve the U-Haul even gave me the number to call to schedule a drop off location after we knew where we were going to be. This was unacceptable I would recommend closing the grand junction U-Haul down or finding a new owners. Considering Lisa's name tag said she was the owner she is obviously not running it to U-Haul standards. I have used U-Haul multiple times and never once ran into any problems like this. Even after we dropped off the U-Haul at the jewel location in Golden Colorado, the gentleman who helped us with our drop off even stated that our experience with the Grand junction U-Haul was uncommon and unacceptable. Is it further note Lisa even tried to guilt Trip me and say "how would you feel if it was you who I had to call and cancel because the truck was never dropped off" being as it would be no different if I extended my U-Haul usage I don't see how somebody else not getting the truck is also my problem. I do feel for the inconvenience on those people however it was an entirely the Grand junction locations fault for changing my contract illegally 20 minutes after I left the location. I also know that it was changed 20 minutes after because we called customer service to complain to see if they could help us change the drop off location since Lisa was not being compliant and he asked what time did we sign the contract I told him 10:48 a.m. and he said it was changed 20 minutes later. I am still furious about the situation, the lack of customer service and the LEGAL activity that occurred. And to anyone who actually reads this review I sincerely hope you consider driving the extra 20 to 40 minutes to another location to save yourself the stress.Katana M.

My experience at this location was terrible. They didn't have the auto transport that I reserved. I had to drive the 26' truck to a difference location to pick up the AT and then drive back to the original location to load my car. The new location found out that the original location had cancelled my AT reservation. It took almost 2 hours for them to fix the situation. I had a 9 hour drive ahead of me and since I left 2 hours later than expected, I arrived after dark.CHAD S.

Our top priority was having climate control for art and photographs and some electronics but would highly suggest this storage for anything. They have a clean facility and pest control to help keep it that way. Carts are at the door to help move items in and out. Staff was super helpful at the time of rental and checkout. I do have a situation though. My van was under the garage door that is suppose to stay open when you are unloading. but I saw it go down onto my van to where my dish satellite was. It left a mark. I don't hv it hooked up now and I don't know if it damaged it. It was on camera and seen my staff. When I asked the staff at arond 7 pm they said there was nothing on file about it. I was also told by staff via phone when I reserved the storage that I would receive a 10 by 20 storage that I could drive up to and just care my boxes into. I was also told at the beginning that my truck was 19.6 from back to front not including the cab over which made my move very hard. I had to leave some of my stuff behind. When I tried to switch trucks to a 26' kJ in Prescott told me I would hv to pay for both trucks in order to make that happen. I did reserve a 26' the night before but kJ told me when I came in the next morning that he didn't hv one. When I told him I had reserved one then he said it was broke. He told me to rent a trailer which was supposed to make the space the same as a 26'. All the staff were nice through the process except for kJ.. The last time I used you. I turned my rental in early and they gave me some of my fee back. This time they told me they don't do that with debt only cash. I also left my charger for my ph in the cab. Over the decades I have used U-Haul numerous times. This particular facility is absolutely the BEST!! The entire property is organized and well maintained, and improving weekly, as the curbs, and landscaping are being finished up. Once inside, you will see that it is clean, very well set up, and you are immediately welcomed by a U-Haul employee. The service is amazing; very thorough, and everything is gone over with you, and explained in concise detail. I reserved a drive up unit. I received an email confirming a drive up unit. Once I arrived to unload, I was informed I wasn't going to get a drive up unit, because they were planting trees!!!!
