Pickup process was painfully slow and truck was not full of gas. general manager didn't listen and implied I was I liar when I tried to address issues, (â€œI watched the camera, and you were at the counter for three minutesâ€ he said. When I was in the store for 25 waiting for the staff to provide the vehicle I had reserved in advance. and said to look out for an email from him which I have yet to receive. I will never come back and will be sure to spread the word about how awful my initial experience was, and also how the general manager failed to take any accountability. 0 stars. A day rental on 4 X 7 utility trailer. I made reservation on-line and declined insurance option. Agent wrote up contract and included insurance cost which I again declined. Good help picking it up and hooking up. I returned the unit within 3 hours and unhooked it myself and returned it to the same spot. There was noone on site at that time so I went into the building and found helper on lunch break. I told him the trailer was back, he said fine but offered no written confirmation. In July, I rented a one-way U-Haul rental, returning it to this location. I returned the trailer the day before it was due to be returned. The following day (day it was due) I received a phone call asking for me to return a dolly (which was never rented) and the trailer. After 30-45 minutes in-person discussion, the U-Haul personnel determined that there was an error on their side due to a staff member sending out our trailer that morning with another individual rather than the actual trailer rented by that person. This was done before our trailer was checked in (it had not been checked in from the previous day). I was assured my account would be credited so I would not have to pay the additional day's rental. They did not credit me and I received a bill. I sent 2 emails and no response. I disputed it on my credit card and U-Haul still refused to credit me. They lied about reversing the charges and then would not fix their mistake. Don't trust them.Shari P.
There was rat poops everywhere and no food of mine was stored in there. No lighting was available above my unit so we could hardly see what we were doing. The light on the hallways would automatically turn on but non above the units. I called to ask a question about renting a truck from this location and the guy on the phone could not be understood as his sloppy English was so bad I couldn’t understand a word he was saying. The staff was extremely rude. My reservation was showed that I was getting a truck from a location near me, but when I went to pick it up the online check in process told me that I was to pick it up from a different location that was further away. This resulted in more miles which increased the cost of the rental. Overall this was not a good experience, if I find myself needing to rent a truck in the future I will definitely look elsewhere.Patrick M.

When i left the u haul lot i looked at gas gauge showing exactly 3/4 full. i refilled it for 15.00 which was 2 lines past the 3/4 full mark because i asked if i should refill it and they said yes i returned truck and offered a 15 dollar receipt which they refused to acknowledge or even look at the receipt . when i called the guy (Charlie)today he said i should have taken pictures of the 3/4 mark because he said i did not fill it to where it was on the truck when i left i said you should have known that yourself how full it was. without me bothering with pictures. He said we deal with 100's of trucks. i am so furious i cant even type and will not go there again i will go back to the 988 university location where i was treated with no problem. I demanded my 15.00 back and he said its part of your contract or some such nonsense. What a rip off.jackie D.

I set my rental location to a totally different place in New Hope, MN and was surprised to find out that the pick up location had changed to a far away, extremely busy location without my knowledge. This quirk of "preferred location" caused a lot of trouble and took MUCH extra time. Do NOT switch locations on the customer without approval. I would have said NO.Tamara N.

I was charged $8.40 for 2 gallons of gas when I drove the truck 8 miles and had it out 45 minutes. Trucks should be full when rental starts rather than 7/8 full and then charge me to fill it because the last guy was not charged, or if he was, the truck was not filled up with gas.Don D.

These guys were amazing! I was in and out of there quickly. A yard guy helped me with the electronic parking brake right away. I really cleaned out the van but without knowing it, I left my cell phone in the van. I was in my car a block away when a U-Haul employee pulled up and handed me my phone!!! Our experience with Uhaul was beyond ridiculous. We were not notified when our Uboxes were delivered. Our movers went to pick up our Uboxes everyday for 6-days in a row. Each day, they were told a different excuse for why our belongings could not be picked up including: the trailer is broken, the garage to access the boxes is broken, the uboxes were not taken out as scheduled, there is not a truck available, it's raining and we don't have a tarp to put on the Ubox. It was the most ridiculous experience. I was on the phone with Uhaul for hours everyday to figure out what in the world was going on. After we finally did receive our belongings, Uhaul continued to send us messages that we owed a storage fee for items that were no longer being stored. For two weeks, the Uhaul center has assured me that no balance is due and that they will take clear my account. Yet, I continue to receive threatening messages that a balance is due. I continue to have to call Uhaul and wait on hold to be told that they will 'take care of it'. Then nothing is done. This experience continues to be ridiculous. I don't recommend moving with Uhaul. They are disorganized, uncommunicative, and overall provide a very difficult and stressful moving experience.Timothy W.

The line was six people deep with one agent very slowly processing rentals, spending more time lecturing people about why he was so slow than actually working. Eventually a second agent who couldn't answer basic questions, in the meantime several more people arrived so the line is now about 13 people deep. Finally another agent arrived who was energetic and moved quickly to get through the backup. This guy was the only one really working in the front - he was a fairly young thin guy, possibly Latino heritage or similar, description provided so that you know who is an asset to your company. Although this location is very convenient for me, I don't think I will be back. It's hard to get good help lately, but 2 out of 3 agents were not productive and the wait was unacceptable. Terrible customer service all around. The way some of the other customers in line were treated was also unacceptable although the guy who waited on me was fine.David P.

I went there and didn’t know exactly what I needed for my vehicle and rental unit. I told them exactly what I paid for already. I was only given a key for the vehicle and almost left and had to go back in and ask about the unit. They realized they did not give me everything I needed so then I had a key for the unit. That night I went to the storage space and there were homeless people roaming the indoor spaces. I did not know how to find or operate the building, no one was answering calls for assistance. I had had problems with my reservation due, I believe, to errors made in Winnipeg, where I picked up the truck. I was frustrated by the additional stresses those problems caused en route to Minneapolis. Roderick's professionalism and sincerely caring attitude turned my mood around within minutes. All staff members I've interacted with over the past few days have been very willing to help - in particular Lisa - when navigating busy phone lines, answering questions, dealing with stressed-out customers, and new employees who appear to be still in training and not yet "in the know." I would recommend telling new employees to communicate to customers that they will help FIND the answer vs. the "I'm new" and throwing their hands up in the air. 24 hour access like the store outing crystal would have been nice since I had a smaller unit here and was paying the same price as I was there. That and the lighting kinda sucks when the light on the rows are on it's still way to dark in the units but what sucks is how short the timer is on them. Having to go out of the unit and jump around just to trip the motion light was very inconvenient. Because of the storage place a Los things they kept cutting the locks and changing the locks I think it’s a scam so they can get paid for the locks they lose the keys when they change the locks so you’ll have to buy new ones with your upgrade it make you pay more for locks. I was assisted by Josiah and Lisa. They both went above and beyond to help me choose between UBox and UStorage options. I am from out of state (Las Vegas NV) so this decision was stressful for me, but they made it easy for me to come to a firm and resolute decision. Josiah even lent me his personal tool set so I could socket wrench apart some of my pieces for storage. This is by far one of the cleanest UHaul Storage facilities I’ve ever experienced. Every staff member I encountered seemed happy to be there and eager to help. I particularly appreciated the loading dock option and the 24 hour access indoor garage loading option to keep me out of the 5 degree snowy weather. Simply awful behavior by current manager. After his disparaging attitude and behavior toward me I said that he was being patronizing to me. He glared at me and walked away despite not finishing transaction. I reapproached him and he said that I had called him a name. Not so. He then told me to leave and return if I chose. I calmly but assertively requested his manager's contact info. He refused. Men in line looked shocked. I went to my car and returned a few minutes later. Overtime I have appreciated U-Haul compared to his competition like for the past decade or so it has become clear to me that this office, that’s the intersection of, and 280, is superior and just about any way to any competition within U-Haul or from outside. The storage is just one more thing that they’re doing very well and it ties in very well with renting their vehicles.
