The experience I had with uhaul was not good and I will likely never use the company's services again customer service was rude. When I made the order I said I wanted it delivered to my new address but at some point that got changed and I had to get a van anyway to move the stuff from the Unix storage center to my apartment building. They weren't very clear on the requirements for delivering the pod when it came to the height requirements. On top of all of that they didn't cancel my order on the day I cleared it out like they were supposed to I talked to Will on the third of April when I emptied the pod and he told me that I was good to go and didn't have to worry about it. He didn't close out the account and I got charged for anther month of service on the 18th on my account that I didn't have the funds in to cover anther month because everything was supposed to be don't . So I am currently having to fight with the bank because I didn't get the services that uhaul charged me for and the people at the warehouse are not being helpful at all and I am pissed off and will never be using the company again nor will any of my family or friends.Noelani W.

I attempted to pick my rental by doing the virtual pick up. When it came to the step where mileage needed to be confirmed, it read â€œlow fuel, less than 40 milesâ€ and would not display miles. Additionally it was below the Â¼ tank marker where an additional service fee is added, even if the van is returned at the same level as picked up. Fortunately, a different vehicle was provided quickly, however, this one had a headlight that was not working, the dolly was already detached, back compartment lock had been cut by bolt cutters and not replaced, and the compartment space was still dirty. Truck worked fine for moving. I returned the truck using online return function. I looked for the key drop as instructed online, but could not find it, so I went inside to ask an employee. In there he said that online drop off is only for after hours and that I'm not allowed drop it off that way. He refused to tell me where the key drop was or accept the keys himself. He then told me to put the keys in the cab and lock the door, that they'll get to it later. I did as he requested. Later that evening, I received a call from the same employee asking why I locked the door. When I reminded him that's what he told me to do, he began using increasingly profane, argumentative, and aggressive language saying I did it intentionally to make their job harder and that I was going to billed an additional fee, despite following the instructions he gave to me. I asked for his name so that I could follow up with this and he told me that it's not important, and abruptly hung up on me.Mark S.

The day of my reservation was the first of the month. At 9:15am when I arrived to the location, the app was not working to pick up my truck. I proceeded to the desk and there was only one employee working with a long line of customers. The staff member was fantastic and very patient but he could only work so fast. As a customer I understand staffing is difficult at this time, but it would have been nice if there was at least one other staffer on site to help. All the employees were doing amazing work, but the amount of people that came in with issues and were yelling at your employees was out of control! I work in a very high level tech industry and I have never dealt with what they did. You need to keep the employees you have and pay them a lot more than you are right now. Renting a truck with 150,000 miles with mechanical issues is clearly making you money, but not the people that work hard to represent you.Kathleen M.

When I originally went to the first location I had a reservation & no one was there. I called the U-Haul customer service and they transferred my reservation to this location & they were very helpful & everything went smooth. I do wish I could have gotten a refund for the extra driving and time lost having after having to figure out what to do when the original store was locked and seemed closed. I had a trailer reserved two weeks in a row and got to the facility on University only to find no trailer available. Last week, the University location offered to figure out a vehicle rather than a trailer at a comparable price, then found me a trailer 13 miles away. They said I would get the $50 reservation guarantee, I didn't. This week, they didn't offer any options, but sent me to Como. I got to Como, no trailer. I was by then upset and told the person I wanted a vehicle at the same price. He told me to â€œSettle down, you're in no position to make demandsâ€. He then decided to screw another customer and gave me their trailer. A wholly unsatisfying scenario two weeks in a row. That and there was one person working the office on University with a line of customers out the door. It took me a half hour wait in line, just to find out my reservation wasn't available. Unfortunately U-haul is about the only option, so take it or leave it.JEFF E.

I will not recommend any UHaul services. The marketing and pricing was ridiculous. Vans say 19.99 and I was charged $37, using the van for 40 minutes. I drove about 6-7 miles, and was charged double the price that was advertised. The staff was lovely and very nice, but UHaul as an org, I'm supper annoyed with. My vehicle return time was 7:00am - I returned the truck at 6:40am. I was informed by the employee that I was "good to go" and I would be emailed a receipt when I was checked in. It appeared they had a collection of vehicles that required attention when I arrived; my vehicle was checked in after 8:00am, nearly 90 minutes after I had returned it. I was subsequently charged for another day and received a phone call regarding "when I would return the truck". I originally went to the wrong entrance to pick up the U-Boxes. The in-store staff was kind and helpful. The warehouse staff were helpful enough, bit of an attitude though. He did mention that they never put full U-Boxes out in the yard to prevent theft, which we appreciated. Our U-Boxes had been delivered a week early, safely, and all of items were all where we packed them. I recommend other people follow U-Haul's packing recommendations, they absolutely worked for us! Overall, we are very satisfied with the entire experience. Moving is stressful, but using U-Haul U-boxes was both affordable and successful for us. ¡Gracias!Kristine W.

Rented a $19.99 10 ft truck and got charged 39.99 for it, plus mileage and insurance (I expected those). Upon pick up, the gas light was on and I was told if I returned it on a quarter tank, It would only cost me about $21 to rent the Uhaul. I did get a gas credit and ended up going more miles than I expected, but was still overcharged $20 for the truck.Caitlin B.

The equipment I got was not cleaned out. The inside had not been swept out, the interior floors were muddy, and there was a tire that was low. So you tell me that this truck was ready to rent? The extra was dirty too. Part if the handle to roll down the window was missing. Just junk and the customer service inside is horrible. I asked the guy why the estimated bill was so high. He forgot to tell me about that insurance he added without asking me. I didn't know until I told him to print my invoice out. All staff members I've interacted with over the past few days have been very willing to help - in particular Lisa - when navigating busy phone lines, answering questions, dealing with stressed-out customers, and new employees who appear to be still in training and not yet "in the know." I would recommend telling new employees to communicate to customers that they will help FIND the answer vs. the "I'm new" and throwing their hands up in the air. 24 hour access like the store outing crystal would have been nice since I had a smaller unit here and was paying the same price as I was there. That and the lighting kinda sucks when the light on the rows are on it's still way to dark in the units but what sucks is how short the timer is on them. Having to go out of the unit and jump around just to trip the motion light was very inconvenient. I was assisted by Josiah and Lisa. They both went above and beyond to help me choose between UBox and UStorage options. I am from out of state (Las Vegas NV) so this decision was stressful for me, but they made it easy for me to come to a firm and resolute decision. Josiah even lent me his personal tool set so I could socket wrench apart some of my pieces for storage. This is by far one of the cleanest UHaul Storage facilities I've ever experienced. Every staff member I encountered seemed happy to be there and eager to help. I particularly appreciated the loading dock option and the 24 hour access indoor garage loading option to keep me out of the 5 degree snowy weather. Simply awful behavior by current manager. After his disparaging attitude and behavior toward me I said that he was being patronizing to me. He glared at me and walked away despite not finishing transaction. I reapproached him and he said that I had called him a name. Not so. He then told me to leave and return if I chose. I calmly but assertively requested his manager's contact info. He refused. Men in line looked shocked. I went to my car and returned a few minutes later. There need to be clear signage in the building regarding after hours access. We were locked out during our move in with our unit still open inside with belongings in it. It would have been nice to been given either an announced warning the doors would be locking or at the very least have the time the doors lock posted on the access entry. I do realize that the hours are in the email that is sent but after spending 2 straight days moving a lot of people are not going to read through the email they just want to get finished with their move. Other than that the the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the location is clean and security seems to be a priority. This store on como ave in Minneapolis/St. Paul area is advertised as a 24 hr storage unit, so I got there at around 7pm right as the office was closing down for the day, yet I managed to get service and I got to rent a unit for my stuff. However as I was wrapping up my move, I still had just a couple of things to bring when all of a sudden the door locked on me and couldn't come in anymore having to leave a lot of my stuff unattended all thru the night and Im glad nothing got stole, but I feel like this happened because any of the ppl that worked there did not tell me anything about it. That is not even the whole problem. There is a phone number on multiple signs that say to call the gm for after hours service, but the phone would go straight to voicemail making this situation a lot more frustrating and unnecessary that it needed to be. I even called costumer service for help and they couldn't even reach this guy and or couldn't help me at all. I wasted over 3 hours dealing with this that day and at the end I just gave up and left only to come back in the morning just to secure the unit I just rented. You guys need to be more clear about you overnight policy or at least tell your customers about it. That didn't have to be as frustrating and difficult like it was that night/morning. Overall the experience went fine. However, I did have a "hickup" that really should be addressed. When I rented the truck and took advantage of the storage unit deal, I asked specifically about 24 hour access. I knew that I would be moving late into the night so this was important. I was told I had 24 hour access. This was not the case. At 10pm the dock sliding doors locked me out. Here I was with a partially loaded truck, carts in the passage near my storage and my storage door open with no access. I pushed the After-Hours intercom button, no answer. I called the After-Hours number for Matt Underwood, no answer and directed right to automated voicemail. I then called the customer service number, obviously no answer there. I then called the alarm company who was able to give me the number to someone else, This person did answer and was able to grant me access. He did explain however that 24-hour access is a PAID service the I did not have. This is something that should have been explained by the counter rep who checked my out. I don't have to explain the stress and concern this experience caused me Since obviously I couldn't simply leave. Excellent security measures and the long access hours is a nice perk. Hallways and loading areas are clean but pest control is lacking. Although the rodent bait traps are present in each unit, I still found a considerable amount of mice droppings inside my unit. Having the normal entrance blocked off by construction makes it difficult to access, which isn't really an issue but it would have been nice to have an announcement sent out with instructions for alternate route access or at least better signs directing people where to go. I wasn't able to reach the office by phone so I had to drive all the way there to get answers. Matt has always been helpful and friendly but it's iffy otherwise. You have one of the best storage facilities I have used over multiple cities and 36 years of military service. I think the security and access controls are very good. The facility is clean and easy to navigate. Two areas to comment on: first, I had a handicap accessible unit which I chose for location, but the smaller door makes lighting very poor.
