I was definitely overcharged. I estimated a 2 day rental but because I finished early and returned the trailer 5 hours after leasing it, I saved $20 bucks vs keeping it for another day. Algorithm doesn't make sense and this place penalizes you for giving the trucks back before the clock runs out.NIKOLAYD I.
The truck I rented was not maintained or serviced. The fuel tank would not accept fuel from the gas station I used so I could not return the truck at the prescribed fuel level. The front brake rotors were warped beyond normal limitations. The steering wheel would shake and wobble violently when brake pressure was applied. The left front tire continued to loose air pressure over the course of each day. The truck was not inspected by the maintenance shop for some time for it to be in its current state of operation. Unacceptable and a hazard to operate. The staff were very helpful and very easy to work with.Ralph M.

I have had atleast 4 tow hitches installed at this location over the last several years. The previous times, the service and communication was great and I was able to call the location directly and they called me to keep me informed and then when my vehicle was ready. This past time, everything sucked! My appt was on a Saturday at 8:30am. I dropped off my vehicle, 1 person working the inside on the busiest day of the week. I never got a phone call, and when I called the number for the location multiple times throughout the day, the "call center" picked up and would not put me in contact with the store and was very rude. The next morning, Sunday, I woke up and went to the location when they opened at 9am. There were 3 people working on the inside, where were they the day before!? The kid who waited on me was clueless, I asked for my paperwork and warranty because I always get those! He said there was no paperwork. So I walked out saying to myself that I will never come back here or to U-Haul again! The kid came out, and said "oh I did forget your paperwork and warranties". Handed it to me and walked away. Wow. I don't know what happened, but I can't even get a phone call!? Or call directly to the location to speak with someone there at the location!? I'm done with that location and most likely with U-Haul altogether. I can install my own hitch! I just in the past really liked your service, well I'm done.Jennifer L.

In some cases loading a car on an auto transport trailer, doing so in reverse is better than driving straight on. This is due to trailer loading and achieving the proper weight load on the trailer tongue and a trailer wheels. Not doing this overloads the towing vehicle. This should be explained to customers not familiar with towing.SCOTTANDREW C.

The male with dreadlocks was extremely unhelpful loading my vehicle besides guiding me onto the auto transport. My wife and I heard him loudly telling another customer that U-Haul does not offer services for assisting with loading vehicles on auto transports. After the front wheels were strapped down, he said I was good to go with the rest of it and left. He didn't tell me to attach the chains around the frame nor did he look over the vehicle after the fact. The supervisor Autumn had to come out and double check his work. Overall, the weight rating for my hitch was incorrect for the weight I was towing and led to an extremely dangerous situation while traveling that I am trying to get worked out with U-Haul now for compensation/reimbursement.Eric M.

We were not able to inspect the truck prior to receiving it. The trucks maintenance was very below standard. The truck needed heavy alignment work and the haul button sensor was bad. After giving feedback to the customer service representative she just said ok. My father and myself were at major risk driving that truck especially on the interstate. I spent over 100 for a uhaul that barely made less than 50 miles round trip.LAKIADENELL H.

When I dropped my uhaul off I was there on time. The employee was outside inspecting multiple trucks. He said I could hand him the key and my receipt would be emailed to me. I guess by the time he got inside to put it in the system 15 mins had passed and I was charged for an additional day because of this. Have the truck pulled in front for the customer I had to find the truck myself and when I finally did it was parked precariously close between two other trucks. It took me 5 mins to get it safely out. Also the truck made a strange noise when driving. There wasn't a place to report that in the app after hours.DONNA S.

I needed to drop the truck off to a different location, although the same city. The guys at Uhaul told me I had to take the truck to the designated location, I stead of giving the advice to call Uhaul and have my contract update so I can switch the locations and not be changed an additional fee. So after leaving, then turning back around and talking to someone at Uhaul I was finally able to return the truck, without an additional fee.RAKESHA M.

Improve staff customer service. When I pulled into the vehicle return lane there were two female employees standing outside in the lane talking. When they saw me, they moved out of the lane so that I could pull in. There is a large sign at the return lane that says, stay outside with your equipment and a representative will come and assist you with your return. After I parked the vehicle and sat there for a while another customer returning their equipment pulled in behind me. At that point I got out of the vehicle. To my surprise the two female employees had moved to another part of the parking lot and were still chatting. Now they have two waiting customers and did not even stop their conversation to acknowledge our presence, or offer any type of assistance. After I yelled out "Hello" to get their attention, they finally stopped talking and told me to go inside to the counter. I then replied that the sign states to stay outside and a representative would come out. Finally one of them pulls away from her conversation long enough to go inside and have another employee come outside to check us out. What piss poor customer service!!! To have customers just sitting there waiting and not even acknowledge their presence was simply disgusting behavior. Do better Uhaul staff!Tanishia L.

I've been to U-Haul twice and email twice and still haven't gotten my bill resolved. I was charge for two days and I was only renting it for 22 hours. I would never recommend anybody to come here Unless they got a receipt after they turned in the keys because mine didn't get checked in until many hours after I left And I have to be at work at eight so I know it was in before 9 AM which is when I rented it the day beforeJOHNJOSEPH V.

Krissy & Ronesha were some of most helpful ladies at this Uhaul location on multiple occasions no matter what the wind blew my way. Being from out of town, this was the first place I secured to store my things and I must say I'd never go to another location. They were friendly, amazingly resourceful and presented a customer friendly atmosphere that made me feel welcomed. I received the truck on E with no gas I had to fill up for almost $100 twice then when I returned it I get charged for not having a quarter tank. I believe that was so absurd. After reserving our storage unit AND calling twice the day we were arriving once we arrived we were told there wasn't a unit available. We were told that since we didn't work directly with this facility they couldn't guarantee there would be anything available. I explained that while we didn't work directly with this facility the UHaul person that was helping us did in fact work directly with Corban at this facility when the reservation was made. After well over an hour they found a unit for us but there was no sense of urgency, there was very little communication as to what was happening. We had 3 carloads of people waiting to help us unload the truck as this was the first night of the holiday weekend and everyone had plans for the weekend but still there was no sense of urgency. In addition to that once we got the truck unloaded at pulled it out front it was 8:12 PM and the two remaining employees were getting ready to leave but because it was 12 minutes after closing they weren't interested in actually helping me get the truck checked in. They they told me if I couldn't figure it out they would check it in the next morning for a $20. fee! I did not get the vehicle checked in on line as the email I rec'd didn't have a link to do so so I took pictures of the truck, mileage and gas gauges and dropped the keys in the drop box. I was not charged the $20 fee thankfully but the entire experience once arriving at the Greenbrier facility was not good at all. Also, there was another customer there who had made a reservation and taken time off work to be at her appointment at the Greenbrier facility and she was told her reservation wasn't available either. Same story, she worked with a UHaul Rep that answered the phone for the Greenbrier facility after being on hold for 25 minutes and made her reservation for her. The employee's said that the system in place doesn't work because it doesn't accurately depict what is available it's just a guesstimate and that UHaul counts on people not showing up so they overbook. I feel like that's a terrible way to run a storage business when people are moving and counting on their reservations. I will tell you that our experience when returning our first truck and talking with Corban was extremely pleasant and informative and Corban was very attentive and helpful quite unlike the employee's when we arrived with a full 26' truck...Karen D. | First Impressions
