I wouldn't recommend this place to an ENEMY let alone, a colleague, friend or ANYONE I care about! I came here several years ago and the experience was TOTALLY different because the staff members ACTUALLY knew about CUSTOMER SERVICE.The person handling me this time was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL is a compliment at this point! He was so engulfed in his CONVERSATION with someone other than the customer he was too busy swearing up a storm as loud as he wanted to. I guess he thought he was â€œ multitaskingâ€ because in between his loud INAPPROPRIATE conversation he would look to me as if I was BOTHERING him and speak so shockingly LOW like he could barely move his jaw to ask questions for the Uhaul set up I wouldn't understand what he was saying!! Not to mention I'm in utter shock and disgust from his inappropriate behavior AT WORK I was lost thinking where the hell am I. So then, he would get NOTICEABLY ANNOYED and have to repeat himself but in between him â€œ servicing meâ€ he'd get back to his disgusting conversation using â€œ the LOUD OUTDOOR VOICE â€œ again. I had called to ask to drop the vehicle off at a closer U Haul location and was told that would be fine. When I tried to do so I was told I couldn't and still had to drive to Genesee St anyway, now late. Customers held up the line with buying then not buying then buying something else instead and then demanding someone carry it to their car so I gave up waiting and used the key drop. The website then tried to charge $30 for a cleaning fee, are you kidding?Riley W.

Thankful that this location was able to fulfill what we needed after going to 2 other UHAUL locations. We had a reservation made for Sams quick stop and when we arrived we were told that someone else had the UHAUL out at that time and that it was supposed to be back by Noon. We left that location at 12:15 and went to another location which then forwarded us to Genesee street where they were able to give us a truck. We use UHAUL alot for one way trips and we have never had this terrible of an experience.AMBERDELLAINE C.

General manager was very unpleasant towards me; required that I provide my passport so that he could keep it during my rental of the truck for 4 hours; I have a current Washington state license. I noted that he just put it in a drawer that was not locked or secure in any way. When I asked why he had to take the passport as security, he said it was because I had an out of state license. I notified him that if the passport was not returned to me, I would report him to the Federal Authorities. When I returned the truck, he was brusquely said he knew who I was & returned my passport. Have done business with this store a number of times before & the transactions was very pleasant & efficient. Not this time!Ludmila P.

The truck would not start upon arrival. Not a problem because the service tech replaced the battery. It started right up. What we didn't know is that he replaced it with a battery with one for a different size truck, make and model. Essentially the vehicle would run until the battery blew rendering the vehicle immobile. Roadside had to come to rescue us twice (my family and my belongings all in unsafe locations each time). Finally, the second tow truck driver noticed that the battery was not only the wrong size battery, but it was not even secured (I have photos/video to prove this). The tow driver replaced the battery and was shocked at the negligence shown by the U-haul tech and the previous roadside truck. All of this caused us to miss the window for our movers, costing us the expense of the movers and then we had to move the entire house in ourselves. When I made a claim I waited a week to follow up and I was told the claim had been closed. Nobody had spoken to use. Today, two weeks later, I got a receipt for the fines they charged us for the tolls. We could not safely stop the vehicle to pay cash tolls so we just kept the truck moving through. I was not going to risk breaking down in a toll booth, on the freeway, with my family. Not a single person has responded to our claim that U-haul is responsible for the glaring negligence displayed and the dangerous situation my family was put in multiple times. I intend to contest the charge. Not only do I feel like I got ripped off, someone could have really gotten hurt (or worse) if another vehicle had hit us on the high due to a battery replaced simply to move us along and become "someone else's problem".Jason L.

I had tried to rent an open 6x12 trailer. Upon arrival I was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Yet the equipment was beyond sub standard. I had to use my own penatrating oil to free up the hitch enough to even allow it to turn. The attendant was unable to turn it and asked for my help. I was able to free it up after multiple applications of the oil. Then we tried to check the lights. The main plug for the trailer (not the extension) was rotted, corroded, and missing pins. The GM Thomas was very accommodating stopping his lunch to try and find another trailer within the Buffalo area. Yet was continually transferred to Massachusetts and Connecticut. My only option was to rent a filthy, oil caked motorcycle trailer. As a long time user of uhaul and their trailers. This is unacceptable. To be clear. My complaint is with the maintenance of the equipment, not with the friendliness of the staff.James B.

I was very satisfied with my experience. The check in process was extremely easy. Brock is a cool guy. He was quite friendly and communicated perfectly (answered all of my questions clearly). The van was in good condition. The driver compartment was very clean. The load compartment was clean enough. It was easy to drive and load / unload. The check out was on Sunday morning and it seemed to be peak hours. There was only one employee and he did his best but the poor guy was really overwhelmed. Although the truck was a disaster. The gentleman Brock that was handling us at the time took excellent care of us. He discounted the gas and mileage and also discounted for the fact the the previous users left the truck messy. The mess didn't affect our move at all so that is why I still want to give a good rating. I really appreciated that they went above and beyond without us even asking. I was really disappointed upon moving into my storage unit because the phone representative assured me I had a ground level unit. When i arrived it was not a ground level it was up high on top the floor level, and there were no other units available at this facility. This was a big disappointment due to the fact that I'm disabled and also I had my movers waiting to load my storage unit for me.
