Andrei GWhile raining, the trailer had a leak that left my items wet. The employees did not provide me with a dolly I had already paid for, and didn't tell me. I had to drive out of my way the next day to be told they don't have anymore. They couldn't have cared less. I had to keep the truck another day and go further out of my way (to spend more money on mileage AND more on a rental) to rent another dolly. Upon returning the truck and completing the return, I went in to drop off my keys to have the employee (playing on her phone), tell me to move the truck. This whole experience was awful.

ANTHONY MThe lack of parking for personal vehicles is extremely off putting. I'd prefer to not park my car on the street, especially because I was asked to back up my rental truck over the curb when I returned it. Asking people who do not regularly drive these types of vehicles to do this while surrounding cars are parked on the street seems like an unnecessary risk.

TONIA WTerrible customer service from the location in Raleigh. Extremely unprofessional and unknowledgeable of the services they're offering. This resulted in an issue with my billing and it took weeks and 10+ hours on the phone with customer service to resolve. In general, the customer service experience from this rental was terrible.

Michael HFriendly staff, clean truck but had 150k miles. Using the mobile app to return equipment was a pain but it did the job. Pretty good experience.
JAMES SWhen I showed up to rent a truck none of the keys were in the lockboxes. I had to try 4 different boxes before we found keys to a truck and when we finally drove away we had to turn around and return the truck because it was still registered under a different account. We then had to wait for someone to show up and give us the keys to the original truck we rented. It took over an hour when it should have only taken 5 min. Customer service was very kind and helpful but this location needs to be better managed and prepared.

Sandro SYour app is extremely difficult to use. I was standing in front of the uhaul location and the app was telling me it could not find my location. I had to 30 minutes for the location to open to pick up my rental, which put me behind schedule.

John GTook a long time to get the truck. There was 1 person checking trucks out and over 6 people in the line. The trucks from the night before had not been checked in and we were all waiting for the trucks to be checked in so there were keys and trucks available to check out. I had a 9am reservation, arrived at uhaul at 915 and it took over an hour before I had keys in my hand. This is wait too long and was not a good experience.

John JI placed my reservation a month ago, I selected mobile pick-up out of convenience. However, when I arrived at the u-haul location the mobile app did not work. I had to go inside and speak with the clerk on duty (Tonia) and she informed me that I had to make a new reservation, which was timely. Also, the charge came out to $65.00, which is not the initial amount for my reservation. I did not have the best experience and I do not rent u-haul as often to compare previous experiences. It's not a good look U-haul.

Mark AWhen I went to drop off my equipment, someone let me in the gate, turns out this person was not an employee. So I left the vehicle in the check in bay, but I kept the keys. Now I was locked in the property and the only way to get out was to go over the fence. I arrived st 9am the next day (opening time) to bring the keys back only to be greeted by a man screaming at me that I would be fined 100 dollars. Will never return to this location for any services.

Dan KI don't believe we plan to use U-Hauls services again in the future after this weekend. I had originally made a reservation for a different location in Raleigh, and was shocked when we arrived there was no truck for us. It was extremely upsetting as I did make the reservation in advance, made sure it was confirmed, and still ended up in a mess. Sadly the employees at that location were very rude and wouldn't help us in anyway just told us "There's no point to stay we can't help you". Anyway after that we checked the U-Haul site for availability near us and ended up driving the the location in garner due to the site saying there was availability just to arrive and them tell us they didn't have any vehicles. At this point we were done trying but thankfully U-Haul gave me a call after I requested a call back. The woman I spoke to was very helpful, and was able to find us another truck at this location. I did ask she call the location to confirm the reservation prior because it was 30 minutes from where we were. She said it was confirmed, available, and waiting. Just for us to arrive and them not having anything AGAIN. Thankfully we waited in our car for a minute as someone pulled in to return their equipment that we ended up taking. I will say the employees here were helpful, but at the end of the day it was the most unorganized, waste of our day. So yes I appreciate the help as it was given, but we definitely won't be using U-Haul again.
CATHARINE BI specifically went to this location due to its proximity to my office. I also went 3 weeks early to reserve a 10" truck that I needed to pick up at 12 o'clock on May 31. I specifically wanted a 10' truck because I only had one bedroom to move and because I had to drive 200 miles on a highway and DID NOT want a large truck. Two days before I was to pick up I received a call telling me I had a 15' truck available for me at 4 o'clock in a neighboring city. I then received a text telling me I had a 15' truck at 4 across town. None of the information was accurate. I had to call customer service which took over an hour on the phone to have them place me at the right location but with the wrong size truck. I am not sure what the point of making a reservation 3 weeks early was all about. Overall a frustrating experience.

It the system, I was booked under a different van than the one on my app. The lady had no idea what she was doing and her & the other male employee were being rude to each other in front of customers. The main woman, who was out doing the cleaning, was very friendly and helpful.

At one point during the move the headlight instrument cluster fell into the steering column and cut my headlights out at night. It was a very dangerous situation I was luckily able to fix. Not a good experience

Christy C | Overall ExperienceThere was dirt and bird seed on the floor, that I had to sweep, exposed electrical wires on the ceiling. And today (4/1/24) I was yelled at by a U-Haul employee, for parking where I was supposed to park. Context, the entrance to the facility is tight, so I was waiting for a vehicle ahead of me to into their code in drive into the facility. After this vehicle went through, I parked my car in front of the gate and did not follow the car in front of me through the gate, exactly as the signs instruct. As I was getting out of my vehicle to enter the code, a you whole employee honked at me several times, I did not understand the issue, so I continue to enter my code and enter the facility. After the code was accepted and the gate was opening, the employee drove between me and my car to berate me for a parking where I did. I stated that I was parking to enter my code, and again I was told not to stop there. Then the employee ask me if I was going into the facility, I said yes and they said okay and drove into the facility. I followed all the instructions given, but even if I hadn't, the way this employee conducted themselves was inappropriate. This was a really bad experience, and I hope I don't have to see or interact with this employee again.

There trucks and trailers left in the entry area preventing others from entering since there was no staff working the property. I was charged a mojnths rent at 6am the day after i moved out within my first 30 days. Needs to be refunded ASAP!
Russell B | Overall ExperienceLabeling on the facility was very poor, and indicated that we needed to enter the facility to get a gate remote in order to leave. In actuality, the gate exit was weight-driven, so when we walked through the gate to see if the office was open, we became trapped outside in the cold. The office on-site was closed, and we spent 20 minutes on hold with the facility, followed by another 10 minutes on hold calling again. When we were connected, the service folks acted like this was a stupid mistake, and said they would come let us out in 10-15 minutes. 25 minutes later, another storage unit owner arrived and let us out, at which point we were able to move in properly. Facility could benefit from updated instructions and warning signs.

The first time we opened the door to our storage unit after everything was moved in there were was a cockroach right there and then about 100 small bugs scattered. It was as if the cockroach gave birth right then and there. I set roach traps and also fumigated before finally moving our belongings to a different UHaul. I've used storage for years in different States and this was horrible. I did not take pictures but anyone who goes to the storage unit will se at least 3 dead cockroaches in my 5x10x10 unit. We found two dead cockroaches in our belongings. As we unpack a couple of things will be sure to take pictures. Horrible experience.
Emily C | Overall ExperienceRemote storage site in Pleasant Valley Road is a very inadequate. Security gate left open for weeks because it was broken. Had an ant infestation in my unit that I had to exterminate in my own. Horrible facility layout - very difficult to access with large U-Haul Truck or any normal vehicle + trailer set-up. Almost no security. This site suits people coming an going in a car or pick-up truck storing low value items.

I called U-Haul while driving and for over 1.5 hrs was bounced around to reps who could not help give me any details. After making it to the other office, I waited 20+ mins to be helped. The service rep was helpful but he was unable to locate my reservation and would not take resv#. Had to start over. After finishing the process I went to the storage unit , row D and the 26ft truck can't get down the aisle. I tried for 2 hours the next morning to get someone on the line with no help. Finally rented with another company even though I still have the one I setup and need to get cancelled, can't get my month free even though the are associated with U-Haul because I could not change the location. This process was exhausting and stressful. No other moves or storage rental has been this jacked up. I still have not oped the unit because I could not get the truck to it. Worst experience ever

Alvin J | Overall ExperienceI had 2 units at this location (110 and 186). The first unit was broken into and I was never notified, even after the management placed their own lock on the unit. It was only when I went to access the unit and saw the lock had been changed was I told about the break in by another renter to which I then called the store in Durham to report and ask how to get into my unit. Two days after this my second unit was broken into and burglarized with losses over $700. I immediately contacted the general manager by phone and was given the claim contact at RepWest. From speaking to both Derrick the GM, and other employees and renters this property has been under attack from thieves for some time and Uhaul has yet to improve lighting, security or cameras which is ABSOLUTE NEGLIGENCE! In addition, they are not notifying renters of break ins to their units as soon as they become aware. I cannot believe that this is the business model that UHAUL has sunk to. Derrick and Rachel at the main Durham store that manage this property have been kind and responsive, and I feel sorry that they have to deal with this at work EVERY WEEK! You really need to take care of your customers better. Simple fix: add lighting, add more security cameras, do a daily sweep of property in the morning to check for break ins and communicate immediately to your customers! I will not recommend this location to anyone and I am considering contacting media to inform the public since no one wants to tell the current renters they are at risk. I moved everything out and will not be back!

When I called the main store in Durham on Hwy 70 Matthew told me I should have checked for the lock before receiving a delivery, blaming me for your error. He told me to drive to the office to pick up a lock. I had to leave my unit unlocked, drive 15min to pickup a new lock. Rachel greeted me with a smile and was happy to help me get a lock. She apologized for the missing lock and Matthews comments. She told me that she would have the General Manager Derrick call me, but I haven't heard from him yet. I was inconvenienced and frustrated by the experience, but Rachel was the one positive note.

When we first got there the girl gave me such a nasty attitude that I asked if I had done something to her because I didn't understand what was going on. Then I got the 24 hour service (paid extra) and was locked out that night. When I call the after hours number that woman said she hasn't worked there in years. I had checked on my stuff a couple weeks later and they had a sign that stated that due to robberies we were only allowed entrance during certain hours but I was never notified and still charged the extra money for the 24 hour service. Got locked out again trying to get my stuff out of storage and still they haven't updated the after hours phone number. This was horrible and I would never recommed them to anyone.

Therefore, I was unable to move my things in. I called customer care and spoke with 2 reps and they both told me there was nothing they could do. I stood in the rain for over an hour trying to figure out what to do at 8pm. I was highly upset and livid! i will NEVER use uhaul again in my life nor recommend you guys! The worst experience in my life. Because the staff wasn't careful when assigning my unit what caused a huge inconvenience for me financially because I had to find another storage place fast and had to pay them $169 that I didn't have a that moment. I'm highly upset and I want this issue resolved!

However she gave us Graces # to call. We did and she did everything necessary to get us into the unit that night. We were incredibly grateful. The morning manager was very kind and helpful as well when we came back to do a few more things - unfortunately I didn't get his name. Great staff at this location !!
