The transmission was slipping in the 26inch truck I rented, I told the manager and of course she said it was nothing wrong with it. I experienced major issues with the U-Haul Center Point location: 1. I ordered the hitch installation on Saturday Sept 23 for a Wednesday the 27th installation. I called the Center Point location on Monday to reschedule for Thursday but could not reach them by phone after many attempts. I called the 1-800 number and spoke to three different service representatives and I was ultimately told that the hitch would not arrive at the install location until after I was to depart with the trailer for the scheduled move. So I ordered a hitch and paid the shipping charge of $35 for 2-day delivery to ensure that it arrived for a Thursday install. It turns out that the parts did arrive at the location for the Wednesday install but I had already spent $322.90 on parts. U-Haul needs to reimburse me for this cost and I will deliver the hitch to my local U-Haul center in Huntsville AL. 2. The hitch installation took all day. When I arrived at my destination 1700 miles away, the wires were sagging below the vehicle and almost touching the ground. I had to take the vehicle to the Sun City AZ location and wait two hours for them to get to it. That location had to totally re-wire as if it was a new installation due to the wires not being secured properly above the exhaust, the ground was taped to the vehicle instead of fastened, and no safety fuse had been installed. Secondly, I received a warning ticket from a Texas state trooper for trailer taillights not working. U-Haul Center Point put me on the road with damaged wiring on the trailer harness.Jeff H.

We found out 10 minutes before our pick up that we were not able to get the truck we reserved (15ft) and would have to take a 26 footer. Upon arrival the young lady working the counter was more concerned with personal call on her cell phone than assisting us. We then learned that there were no hand trucks available, â€œbecause they were all stolenâ€, which forced me to purchase a set of hand trucks from the store because otherwise we would not be able to get the moving completed. Last we arrived at the truck to find that the trailer had not been cleaned, the cab had a rotten smell, and there were actually a set of hand trucks in the truck. All In all it shouldn't be so much work to reserve a truck and accessories and have to worry about whether it will be available at pick up. They never checked in our rentals and then started calling 2 days later to tell us we were going to be charged because it wasn't returned. The crazy thing is that the dollies they called about weren't on the lot because they had already rented them out again!!! They didn't want to fix their mistake and didn't want to help resolve anything. They did not care even a little even though it was completely their mistake. My storage has water leak. I reported it and the rep said they will take care of it. When I came to get my things out, they smelled like mildew and it was mold because of the water leaking in there. Dollies!! Adam was courteous helpful and knew his job.. the truck I was picking up was late getting back and I was livid .. Adam calmed my nerves and made everything right.. I came in on Sunday after traveling from Moody to secure a rental with the center point location and there was only ONE person maintaining the entire store. It was unacceptable. The poor young man was running around securing equipment, attaching trailers, talking to customers on the phone, checking out reserved equipment and checking in returned equipment. He did a great job but management should be ashamed for only having one person on the desk during weekend peak hours. The overall customer service was great. The poor rating isn't enough, it was awful. Service provided by the lady at the counter was terrible. She was rude and had an unfriendly attitude during the transaction. The gas light was on when we got in it and had 50 miles to empty. Upon return they wanted us to put more gas than what it had upon pickup. The gas was returned with the required 1/4 tank but this location decided to charge $30 plus dollars and $17 more dollars on top of that. This has been a tragic experience and will never use your company again and definitely not that location. I give this a 0 out of 5! Needs to be reported to Better Business Bureau immediately. Went to return uhaul and place my belongings in storage, there were two employees present in which neither could help assist in my return of my uhaul or my storage unit. Waited for the manager who was on a store run for supplies for about 45 minutes to an hour, in which she returned with candy. My family and I were very inconvenienced. Not only that but one of the employees present stated that the manager tends to make runs or errands frequently during store hours.
