The person who rented the truck to me was talking about how sick she was and sniffling the whole time. Uhaul has the dumbest policy of making people who hold out of state licenses give two names and phone numbers. That's an invasion of those people's privacy, they have nothing to do with the transaction. If I hadn't needed the truck first thing in the morning I would've walked out over either of these two things. I will not be back.Corbin H.

I asked for a hand dolly, none were available so they gave me an appliance dolly and charged me 10.00 for it and a hand dolly was only 7.00 they changed my location for picking up the vehicle 3 times and I asked for the vehicle at 6am but didn't get it until they opened the store at 7 or 7:30 which put me 2 hours behind schedule, I would not recommend Uhaul again was very disappointed with the service.Dwayne M.

Overall we had a good experience with Uhaul. The only problem I have is I think that we were overcharged for the mileage. I wasn't the one picking up or dropping off the Uhaul so I wasn't able to check it myself but other than that everything was fineTimothy J.

The air in the truck wasn't working and they knew and still have it to me in this HOT summer season! Another thing is the alignment and the suspension in the front was off. There was knocking and squeaks and I had to use all my strength to keep that truck in the lane I'm driving in or it would keep going into ongoing traffic or onto the shoulder. Poor service!Royan L.

Ok,you asked so I'm telling, what a nightmare of an experience for me and my wife,I had made a reservation a few weeks back for a 26 footer for July 23 at the Gillespie St location in Fayetteville NC. I get a phone call on the day of the reservation that there will be no 26 ft uhaul available. And the only one available that they had was in Vass,NC. I was furious, but rolled with it,at least their was one. So even though I was super limited on my time I went to Vass,NC. Got there,placed is closed,can see the truck,tried to use 24/7 app. This place was down in a phone dead zone.Called Uhaul many times and absolutely no help. Called location phone number and with me pleading, he agreed to come out. By this time we had been there 2 plus hours. While we was waiting another customer showed up and stated that that was their 26 footer. Ok now I am furious and depleted and getting nervous because I hired movers to load me and I had no truck. Which I only had one day to move because I am a truck driver and would be leaving out the next day.Now that I wasted gas and 3 plus hours..,the person in Vass NC called some guy named Joe,an area Field Manager, best move so far because Joe was the only one that really helped us,he found us a Uhaul back in Fayetteville NC on Bragg Blvd.So I got there just before closing and was able to get the 26ft Uhaul but no handcart. But none the less we have a truck. Now...because of Uhaul messed up,it has killed my schedule. I had to work u til 2am to get everything loaded and unloaded. Because of Uhaul I will be driving tired in a hazmat tanker truck because I did not get enough sleep due to Uhaul reservation incompetence. You cost me time,anguish, money and gas to complete this. The staff person who greeted us seemed annoyed that he had to accept the rental return. His attitude was the complete opposite of the staff person at Concord.Uhaul. I would have to think about recommending this location but it may have been just this one person having a bad day. We were also charged $1.00 per extra mile instead of .69 cents. The check engine light was on as soon as I turned the truck on. The truck itself was very dated and dirty. The agent at the front seemed very confused and didn't know what was going on as far as my reservation & where the actual truck was. They also have a dumpster fee listed at the counter that you can add on. She looked at the manager , and the manager laughs sans said â€œnaaaahhâ€. We booked the equipment online and only went to this location bc the one closest to our house said the equipment was not available, but that what we needed WAS at this particular location. We get there and they don't have what we need (6 x 12 trailer). So they want us to rent a 15' truck that charges by the mile. We also had hired movers, that waited an hour on us (which we had to pay them for) bc we were at the uHaul facility for 45 minutes longer than anticipated. So instead of paying $29 to rent a trailer, we ended up having to pay $29 for a truck plus $46 for mileage, on top of another $115 billed by the movers for the extra hour. And then we were told that online booking doesn't guarantee equipment. Then why do you have it?Christy W.

This location used to be a lot better. The equipment may have been clean but mechanically it was lacking. It really seemed to have some kind of transmission problem. And I have yet to recieve an email copy of my final receipt from this location. When you go inside it's almost as if the workers don't want to interact with anyone whatsoever. Had multiple employees pass by me and didn't even greet me nor ask if I needed assistance or even let me know that someone would be there soon to assist me. The person who booked the trailer rental was not polite to me, when I greeted him, he did not even say hello or good morning, he just looked at me and moved his head. The men who checked in my equipment were fabulous. The female at the counter needs some customer service training. Her attitude was deplorable and she made me feel like I was interrupting her day and not that I was a valued customer. She stalked off when I wasn't able to produce my copy of my contract. I was being charged for the trailer disconnect and I told her that it was taken care of at the telegraph road store. When she called them and was on hold, she told me she wasn't going to waste her time holding on the phone for what would be 'forever' for 'this' and stalked into the Manager's office to be shown the note in the contract that this service was to be done at no cost. She then huffed that she didn't know why they'd done that and radio'd the men to do the disconnect. In a very unpleasant voice she told me I'd have to move my car myself as they couldn't take liability for it. I already knew this and said so. She's not a good representative for U-Haul unless your standards have slipped quite low. I chose not to respond in kind but you need to be aware: older white female with hip length black hair.Pamela L.

My storage bill was due in the 18th of each month. When I went to turn in my access key at 9:45am on the 18th, I was told I had a balance for the upcoming month. I was told I would be responsible to pay that month even though I was no longer in the unit. After argument and a phone call to however, I was cleared with a zero balance. Absolutely foolish! I did contact the store to ask what protocol was. Maybe you should improve the concrete ramp at the West end of the storage building with unit #646/5' x 10'. We struggled on this using the cart for a couple loads until we found the ramp on the East end of the building was better suited for use with the cart. When booking the storage , we were told it would be 24/7 all we had to do was enter our access code. I double checked with the representative that had helped me to make sure because we were traveling 4hours to this site. I was assured i would be able to put my things in storage 24/7. We get to the site at around 10:07 and attempt to put in our code. It said access denied- closed. I called the Number on the sign for after hour assistance no answer. I called the U-Haul customer service number and was on the phone with her. She told me we were misinformed and tried to reach out to the gm for me. No answer. We had to camp out in our cars till the storage opened because we couldn't get in. Yes I would recommend them if you haul learns how to answer their phones when their customers are calling to let them know that they did take all their belongings out of the unit and that the lock was still there but they want to charge you $117 but they won't answer the phone so that you can let them know when you work everyday and they're closed by the time you get home to inform them that the unit was empty and that they could have taken or cut the lock off if they needed to but nobody answered the phonestacia M. | Overall Experience

I was pleased with my selection of Uhaul for storage. It was a pleasant surprise to see the unit and its size. I have more than ample room to store my belongings. My bill was due in the 22nd of every month. I was able to secure a rental property moving my furniture on the 26th (4) days later to be billed for another month. That is unacceptable plus no at this location is never able to answer the phone. The call center can't help problems at a particular location. No I would recommend nor use U-haul in the future. I was involved in an auto accident earlier in the year and advised U haul management that I was not able to pay the full unit rental and asked to be but into a smaller unit after a caught the payments up on the first unit. I did so and they didn't put me in a smaller unit. I just got out the hospital 4 days ago and answered an email in what my intentions were and I asked to make a partial payment and they refused to except that. Than they expressed other alternatives prior to auction and they never offered that as well. So my unit was sold and there was an overage which was due back to me. When I went to see the store manager Ms Kim she was rude and telling me that there was no credit due back to me when in fact there was because the letter clearly stated such credit. She made a big deal of it stating that she didn't have the cash or she didn't know how to do a credit. At the end of it she said the corporate office would half to send a check by mail which is fine but why did I half to come and spend an hour in the store for you to tell me this. I tried to call the store several times prior to going into the store. No one answered and I kept getting the stores voice mail. So not a good feeling dealing with U Hall at all. So there are a couple of things here I would like to say. While the help I received was good, it took forever to get said help. I waited for 45 minutes before seeing the only rep behind the counter (2 days in a row on 09 and 10 Nov). Then on the second day after receiving my card to access the storage I had to wait for it to activate, I was unaware of this. So I tried to access the gate without luck and then went back inside to wait 20 more minutes to be let in by the rep. Also I was not briefed and am not sure how payments occur for storage. Like if it is all auto payments, or if I will be paying for 1st and last month, or need to pay monthly at the location. If that is the case I only need the unit for 2 months and need to end my contract now. So I will also need to read the contract in full to see if these questions are answered there.
