A better maintenance check on the truck woukd be great for safety. This truck had to much play on the steering wheel. And the brake pedal has to be pushed to the floor before gripping to stop

Milton B.The truck was not clean, there was three Corona beer bottle caps behind the seats when I got the truck. I removed two of them but did not see the third cap until I was returning the truck. I also noticed that the fuel gage was not quite at the 3/4 mark as stated on U-HAUL equipment contract. I informed the man at the counter and he said just to refill the fuel to the same level as I found it when I picked up the truck. That is what I did. When I received the final bill, I was charged for fuel to bring the fuel level up to the 3/4 mark on the gauge. I have rented from this location before and had much better experiences.

He made sure I got what I needed for my last minute need. Returning the truck was also very very easy. The gentleman outside taking trucks in later that day was also friendly and made the process easy. I'll definitely use them again in the future!
Jancie B.One of the tires in the first vehicle given to me was partially flat. I told them about it and they checked it only to find a nail. They then assigned to me a vehicle with two bald tires. I was surprised they thought to put me in such a vehicle. Then they put me in another with one semi-bald tire. And the vehicle did not look well maintained (unmarked side sliding door crack, change oil now light on, etc.). Very disappointing.

As I was trying to check in the rep was helping 2 other customers that came in after me making the process longer for me .I go to the truck the miles were wrong and the gas. I went to let the rep know and she met me outside and said it was good she would change it but i dont know if she did or not. This location needs to work on their customer service.

Maurice B.My storage bill was due in the 18th of each month. When I went to turn in my access key at 9:45am on the 18th, I was told I had a balance for the upcoming month. I was told I would be responsible to pay that month even though I was no longer in the unit. After argument and a phone call to however, I was cleared with a zero balance. Absolutely foolish! I did contact the store to ask what protocol was. I was told I had until close of business on the 18th to pay the unit rent or be cleared out with pictures/video and return of the access key.

Fremon W.I didn't see anything about being charged an after hours drop-off fee. Imagine my surprise when I got a receipt for an extra fee. Also, the how-to video wasn't applicable. There was no way to download the pics that it said to do.

I was late receiving the truck because of the long line and incorrect password to get the keys for self check in. Upon return of the truck the store was not busy and I still had to wait 30 minutes for a person to come and check the truck in as returned. The check engine light was on and the truck acted liked it would break down at any moment. Not a good experience. Also I booked movers through Uhaul to help me move and they did not show up. Uhaul does not screen the movers so save yourself the headache and dont hire movers through uhaul.

James D.Using 24/7 truck rental, the wrong keys were given to us, it took 3 hours to get it sorted out. Was told we would receive free milage for the inconveniences, was still charged for all the miles. Was told that the van did not need to be back till 10 (when we finally were able to take it) not 7, was called to be reminded that it was due back at 7. Tried to call about that and was just hung up on 3 times. Will NEVER use U-Haul again.

Heriberto A.I reserved a 15' truck with a ramp to be picked up on Saturday May,7 at 6:00. The day before I was to pick it up I received a text followed by a phone call from a UHaul representative that I was to pick up the truck at Tat Heel, NC which was over 30 minutes away. I told the rep that was unacceptable and she immediately told me that she was going to cancel the reservation. I said “Do not Cancel, because I have everything packed and arranged people to help me load the truck the same day. She said she was confused. I told her I will talk to someone else that is not confused. I call to get another representative who arranged for me to pick up a 20' truck at another location which was 30 minutes from the location I originally reserved. That was the best she could do, so I accepted that arrangement. I want to the location at 5:45. The truck was there, but while signing out the truck on-line I got to a point that I had to call Uhaul to confirm it was me. It took over 30 minutes of being on hold. I finally got the pass code to the lock. NO key! Called Uhaul again 30 plus minute hold. They told me to pick up a truck on Lillington which was a further 15 minutes away from where I was. Arrived at Lillington and a truck was available, but the rep there told me I would have to return the truck there after use. I was moving over 630 miles and had reserved for one way. He told me I could not take the truck. Another call to Uhaul, short wait time. Finally got someone that was not rude, and wokred with me. She told me there was a 15' has I originally asked for in Fayetteville near where I was moving from. I want to the location on Bragg Blvd and found a nice customer service rep who assigned me my vehicle. It took driving over 40 miles, and wasting over 3 hours to find a truck that I originally reserved at a location closer to my original reservation location. Overall a terrible experience, but thankful that the Bragg Blvd location provided better customer service.

We struggled on this using the cart for a couple loads until we found the ramp on the East end of the building was better suited for use with the cart. Or perhaps putting a sign on the West end that lets people know the East end offers easier access for the cart.

I double checked with the representative that had helped me to make sure because we were traveling 4hours to this site. I was assured i would be able to put my things in storage 24/7. We get to the site at around 10:07 and attempt to put in our code. It said access denied- closed. I called the Number on the sign for after hour assistance no answer. I called the U-Haul customer service number and was on the phone with her. She told me we were misinformed and tried to reach out to the gm for me. No answer. We had to camp out in our cars till the storage opened because we couldn't get in. I am overall very upset, why we the rep who helped us book everything tell us we would have access 24/7 if we didn't. So frustrating.

That is unacceptable plus no at this location is never able to answer the phone. The call center can't help problems at a particular location. No I would recommend nor use U-haul in the future. Plus I'm paid up until the 22 of April to be advised that the storage 404 is no longer available to me. I didn't checkout. Bad business and a darn ripoff.
Connie J. | Overall ExperienceI was involved in an auto accident earlier in the year and advised U haul management that I was not able to pay the full unit rental and asked to be but into a smaller unit after a caught the payments up on the first unit. I did so and they didn't put me in a smaller unit. I just got out the hospital 4 days ago and answered an email in what my intentions were and I asked to make a partial payment and they refused to except that. Than they expressed other alternatives prior to auction and they never offered that as well. So my unit was sold and there was an overage which was due back to me. When I went to see the store manager Ms Kim she was rude and telling me that there was no credit due back to me when in fact there was because the letter clearly stated such credit. She made a big deal of it stating that she didn't have the cash or she didn't know how to do a credit. At the end of it she said the corporate office would half to send a check by mail which is fine but why did I half to come and spend an hour in the store for you to tell me this. I tried to call the store several times prior to going into the store. No one answered and I kept getting the stores voice mail. So not a good feeling dealing with U Hall at all. Not a pleasant experience at all. They could of worked out a plan for me especially by me being in the hospital after the auto accident.

I waited for 45 minutes before seeing the only rep behind the counter (2 days in a row on 09 and 10 Nov). Then on the second day after receiving my card to access the storage I had to wait for it to activate, I was unaware of this. So I tried to access the gate without luck and then went back inside to wait 20 more minutes to be let in by the rep. Also I was not briefed and am not sure how payments occur for storage. Like if it is all auto payments, or if I will be paying for 1st and last month, or need to pay monthly at the location. If that is the case I only need the unit for 2 months and need to end my contract now. So I will also need to read the contract in full to see if these questions are answered there. Other wise I had no issues.
