Bassam A.I was called the day before my reservation and told I couldn't do a one-way trip. It was very inconvenient after I had already reserved the truck. Then I received a text asking if I was going to return the truck to the original destination. I ended up spending more in gas to return the truck but it seems like I could have done the one-way trip. The whole thing was very confusing and none of the paperwork or what I was being told matched.

James B.I was over charged. When I got there the guy told me everything was good and that he would email me my receipt. When I got the receipt they had charged me a dueling fee plus a charge for the gas its self. Which I did not need. I returned it at the same level that I had picked it up at. Ridiculous
Kristina P.I booked everything online 4-5 days prior and was ready to pick up my truck first thing in the morning. The person who assisted me said that my truck was given away to somebody else and that I will receive the same truck just different number (no biggy). Then he said I can't covert my reservation to a different truck and took him a good 15-20min to mess with the system and call some IT guy to figure it out. Then he did solve the problem but the computer would not print the reservation and that to another 10min to figure on to do so. I received the paper and now was in a hurry to leave. Have way through the day I noticed that he gave me the wrong reservation with wrong mileage and wrong amount of gas in the tank. When I return the truck and explained the situation the guys had to calculate my mileage by paper and find the right reservation online. Didn't like the experience of waiting games and gladly I got somebody more experienced when I returned the vehicle because I didn't want to stay there for another 40min figuring this out.

Jose M.I originally had a reservation at another facility, Vapor Vault. I received a call the day before my rental advising me that they had not 10' truck for me, even with a reservation on 4/16. He advised that he only had a 20' truck and it would be double the price for the day. I asked if that was fair, I had a reservation at one price and now they want to charge me double. He advised there was nothing he could do. I got upset and he advised that my reservation was cancelled and he hung up the phone on me. I called back and he stated “did I have a better attitude now� I was absolutely floored by this comment. I was upset because this was clearly a bait and switch. I had a confirmed reservation for a truck at one price and I was informed that there was no truck at that price, only the higher price. I called the main 800 number, reached a wonderfully helpful and considerate operator. Explained the situation and she found me a 10' truck at a facility nearby. She was apologetic for the issue I was having and made sure I was taken care of. The rental was great. Gary Brudner

Steve N.Our only issue was with trying to pickup using the app on my iPhone. It wasn't able to find my location despite me having good service and turning on location. Luckily the store was open when we picked up because we had to go inside to check in. I guess that was good for both Uhaul and us because we dropped another $40 on some shoulder moving straps that proved to be quite helpful on a couple heavy furniture pieces. It did set us back a little timewise though. We dropped off after hours and had trouble with the app again. Luckily my husband still has an old android and was able to complete drop off on his phone. Maybe it's just an iPhone app problem? Otherwise pleased with Uhaul and would use again in the future.

Kurt P.Picked up on a Saturday, got there early and there was 12 people standing in line ahead of me. There was only one girl working and seemed to chat with everybody that she waited on causing the line to get really long. I would think that Saturday being a busy day there should be more than one person waiting on people.
Jim W.I can honestly say this experience with U-Haul has been the worse I have had. We needed a pickup truck unexpectedly to move a large piece of furniture and the U-Haul location we went to was the closest to the home we were moving it from. Initially we were told there were no pickups available, even though we parked next to one when we arrived, then were told there was one available. We then were asked more than once what kind of vehicle we needed. I thought after the first time of being told it was obvious we needed a pickup. The truck itself smelled. The “Before You Leave†text arrived long after we were back at the house to move the furniture. After arriving back at the U-Haul location and finding it had closed about 25 minutes beforehand we were unable to get the “Location Services†option to work on the U-Haul website even though I knew I was at the right location as I had left my vehicle there. Both my phone and my daughter's phone had Location Services activated where requested but neither could get past confirming the location we were at. After an hour, which made it now closer to 8:30p, we finally got through to a customer service person who walked us through the steps to drop the truck off after hours. The next day I saw I was charged for 6 gallons of gas even though we only went a total of 16 miles. The contract had been created incorrectly and showed we had used more gas than we did. Has U-Haul stopped the practice of going out with the customer and having both the employee and customer check over the rental before leaving the lot? Had I not taken a picture of the dash showing the mileage and gas at the time we rented the truck we would have been overcharged. I understand U-Haul pretty much has a monopoly on renting trailers and trucks but your online tools need to be improved greatly if your customers are to solely use them for transactions afterhours. Why isn't there an option to not have to use the Location Services if you are standing in the lot looking at your vehicle while trying to do a night drop off the rental? The online site chat is horrible to use both on the mobile and desktop versions, at least for us, as you had to constantly scroll to be sure you were getting messages. The U-Haul location we went to closing at 7p on a Saturday, which I would think the weekend is one of their busier times of people needing rentals, also does not make sense. We weren't the only ones stuck there trying to return a vehicle after 7p. Making your customers stand outside in the dark for that period of time, trying to return a rental, is unsafe and just wrong.

Made appointment previous day, yet I wasted 45 minutes due to organizational issues and still drove away with cracked windshield that no one seemed to be aware of until I notified. Dan R.Had to drive 20 miles to pickup trailer and 20 miles back to 1st location. Gas Gauge did not read 15/16 full. Much closer to 3/4 full. I was charged an extra $40. But haven't received any detail as to what the charges were for. I am assuming it was gas because I returned the truck with 3/4 of a tank. I don't want to complain about the $40 surcharge but would like a detailed invoice explaining the charges. I also reserved the Trailer a couple days in advance and believe that they should have had it at the same location that I picked the Truck up from. Other than that, the equipment worked well for purpose it was rented.

I then proceeded to wait 7 mins for them to go through the two people in line before I could be handed my key. What's the point in online when I would have gotten things faster if i didn't go through the online process

victor A.One serious flaw was in the oral direction I received when I was handed the paperwork and keys to the 10' bed truck here on Bell Road in Sun City, AZ on 3/26/22. "Bring the vehicle back with the gas gage showing at least half full." The trouble is as I drove away and noticed the gas gauge was showing just a little above 1/4 tank. I stopped right away and put in $35 worth of regular (at $4.99/gallon) . It then showed just over 1/2 full on the gauge so I added another $12.00 to move the gauge a little more above 1/2 tank level. My moving work was about 20/22 miles in length. I returned the vehicle with the gauge showing just above 1/2 tank level. My I pointed out the problem of having to bring the fuel supply up to the 1/2 tank starting position ($30-35). I was kindly told that I should have checked the details in the contract and notified the office at the start of the trip. Nothing could be done at this point. My recommendation is to more carefully designate the starting level (with a photo picture of the gauge) and have the return gauge reading register the same. Especially with gas prices what they are now, some more carefully identified requirement should be the standard. - Otherwise - good and friendly service. Yours truly, Thomas Phelan P.S. Thomas P.There was an issue with the drop off location in the system. System indicated a different location and wanted to charge me $32,000! Walked inside and one of the representatives looked at the confirmation email I had received confirming the drop off location. He then made a phone call and within a few minutes had the issue resolved with no additional charges! All in all good experience hopefully these 2 locations get a free lunch in appreciation for their great customer service!

No issues with the rental location and the agent did everything he could to assist.

U-Haul worked with me when I was having trouble making a payment and always stayed on top of everything. I would definitely recommend u-haul to everyone i know and most definitely will use them as a go to when needed be. The staff there is a great one no doubt about it and Stephanie has been the most amazing employee, the most hospitable person you could meet, superior customer service, all around a great person, thank you. The janitor there is a great guy definitely someone to keep long term at any industry, very kind and friendly with outstanding customer care. Thank you to all at U-Haul for helping me get through this tough time in my life, you all are amazing.

I thought it was the wind on the interstate for the first few hours, but ot never stopped trying to veer right. I stopped at a truck service station on the 2nd day and they said it was out of alignment. It was a fully loaded 26' box truck and I wasn't about to unload it to exchange at the closest U-Haul retailer. It was a pain in the rear to drive for 1600 miles and a real inconvenience. It was actually hazardous to drive at times because it wanted to drift onto the shoulder.

DAWNETTA M. | Overall ExperienceI have rented a unit from the facility by Arrowhead mall for over 4 years now. The manager 4 years ago was fantastic! I mostly just needed the unit for receiving large shipments on pallets. Uhaul provides a service for this which I paid for. The staff 4 years ago was also fantastic. The janitor always stopped to talk to me as well as the staff in the bay. However, it's now 2022 and in the past 6 months there have been several manager changes. Each one has gotten worse. They would give me a hard time about my shipments being dropped off. They gave the delivery drivers a hard time and didn't want to sign for my shipments being dropped off. They would call me an hour before they close and insist that I get there to take the shipment before the office closed. It became unreasonable. I was told that the owner was the one giving them a hard time and in turn, the manager was passing that on to me. The final straw was when the new manager called me in and told me they'd have to add $10 a month to my bill (after I'd been renting at the same price for 4+ years) because they had made a mistake and needed to charge me more. Not sure who taught these guys how to run a business, but I hope the extra $20 from my last 2 months was worth losing a customer who was paying $170+ a month for over 4 years. Good luck, your new management is terrible and do not treat your customers with respect.

Then he gave us directions to a unit number that was incorrect, it was the incorrect unit number. Then when we received the correct unit number. We unpacked went to the unit , there was a lock on it. We informed the front desk they sent an agent to unlock it. He found out that his key didn't work, Notified us that it was a customers lock. That UHaul were not allowed to cut the lock. However I could go get a lock Cutter and cut it off. Inform them that was not my responsibility. They had no other units the size that we had reserved that was climate controlled. We had to repack the truck and go find another storage unit. A horrible customer service experience.

CRAIG M. | Overall ExperienceI reserved a first floor unit, that should have been climate controlled. I got there and it is a lower level unit, not climate controlled. Accessing my unit is hard. The doors are blocked by regular cars parked so I cannot back my trailer to it. The elevator is slow, slow, slow. So you are stuck in the sweltering heat. Not a great experience. We have a couple units in Phoenix that are way nicer, I should have gotten another one there and just made the drive.

Stephen L. | Overall ExperienceI encountered a problem trying to lock the unit; after a long exhausting day, I couldn't get the top part of the latch to slide forward placing the plunger into the hole in the door frame. A young man from the office came to help but was unable to get the latch to engage as well. He told me no one would be available to fix it until morning. Obviously that wasn't acceptable. He left to see if someone else could help. After standing at my storage unit for about 10 minutes I went outside to see the young man who had been helping me was now in the driveway assisting people w/ their rental trailers. So I called the U-Haul main number and held for nearly 15 minutes. While I was holding the young man comes to me to report that his manager is gone and she's not answering the phone because she's off duty now. I was also told there was no emergency number because this problem had never occurred before. The lady who answered my call shared that if the unit couldn't be locked, the store had an obligation to move my belongings to a secure facility if that was needed to secure it. I explained that we had just moved three safes into the unit and that would be extremely difficult without the appropriate equipment. After a long hold, she comes back on the line and tells me she's "just going to have to wake Jennifer up." I didn't realize it, but the rep connected me directly to Jennifer who clearly wasn't happy with the call. She tried to explain that the store was closed now and there was no one to help. I told her this all began before the store closed. Finally she offered to get the situation corrected and told me she would call me back. Almost immediately two attendants came running to help. Turns out that in order to get the top latch to engage, it requires the user to literally stand on the handle applying all the user's weight for this particular unit. At the end of an exhausting day to have run into this odd situation was tear-inducing and to have a staff that seemed so ill-prepared was even more frustrating. It took more than an hour to correct something that should have taken the amount of time it would take an employee to get from the store to the unit in question but an hour was unacceptable. Jennifer could have called me back too to make sure everything was finally handled correctly and to my satisfaction, but...I will continue to use the facility but will recognize that if assistance is required, it seems to be limited by knowledge, imagination and desire.

The gentleman whom serves as the maintenance/janitor is always cleaning and very pleasant to speak with. The whole storage area smells and looks clean all the time and the bathroom is always super clean. He does an amazing job and when we need storage again (or a truck rental), we will be back here entirely based on the amazing job he does.

Ariana D. | Overall ExperienceThere was no climate control in the storage area even though we paid an extra $20 month for it, the rates are unreasonable for what you get, and the staff will argue with you instead of being helpful or offer useless solutions. The storage unit when we moved in was showing 105° on the thermostat that said "climate control between 65-80°" so it was a miserable experience moving stuff in and we had the same experience moving stuff out. I would never recommend this storage facility to anyone.

I selected that size because it was the biggest one I could get that had climate control. Had I known I was not going to get climate control, I would have packed different items to store and I may have selected a bigger unit. Because I had planned for the smaller unit, I only packed enough to fit in the smaller size. I had a four hour drive from Henderson, Nevada, and there was no option to go back and load more into the truck. I hope this makes sense. Accurate communication up front would have made for a much better experience. The staff was empathetic to the situation, but your "reservation" system undermined my experience significantly.

The only negative that I noticed at this particular facility is that they always seemed to be overstocked with rental trucks and, especially during the week, loading and parking space was often hindered; trucks were always parked in the loading area of the storage. This was especially cumbersome when I needed moving companies to come to the location.

James W. | Online Move Indid not have a good experience here. I rented a 10x10 storage room. When I checked in they asked for a credit card to pay monthly. I did. Then I got a late notice fee for late payment. The employees parked at the loading/unloading dock. Every time I came to enter I had to ask someone to move a vehicle. The manager was indifferent about it and just said "ya we don't have much parking here. So I waited. The driveway was always blocked, always had to wait to get in to the facility. I won't go back to this facility.
