First off, I made a reservation for a location on Telegraph which was 10 minutes away from my old place and 10 minutes away from my storage unit. The day of pick up, they changed my location without my knowledge or consent to a location 20 minutes away. Not only did I have to add more mileage, it made my payment increase significantly. I am very upset and would not recommend Uhaul to anyone! Not to mention the truck was dirty and had an odor!!Angel J.

The staffing isn't friendly. They need to know most people don't rent uhauls frequently and may ask questions to better understand the process. Staff needs to be patience when a customer needs clarification. Take that as an opportunity clear up any questions they may have. I returned a van and I didn't complete the process on the app, the staff said he would take care of it. I didn't completely understand what he was going to take car ofâ€¦. I thought it was just the cleaning portion of the vehicle. So, when I got back to my car and log into the app to complete the return process, it ask me how for the miles on the odometer. I walk back to the van to get the information and the person working said in a annoying demeanor I told you I would take care of it. Seeing that he was annoyed I just said ok and walk away confused. He could have taken the opportunity to explain in polite manner how the app work and how he take care of things for me the clear up any confusion. For this very reason I typically avoid businesses in Detroit because in the manner I am treated for spending my hard earned money. If I need a uhaul service again I will probably seek a more friendly franchise.Justin P.

The self pickup process is really poor if you are not within the exact time frame scheduled. I was a few minutes late beyond the hour and experienced a great deal of frustration with the website. The site does not produce an error while attempting to pick up late. It rejects the pickup, and says nothing of any value, and does not produce an error message. So, thinking nothing is wrong, I tried different browsers, downloaded the app, and produced no different results. I had to call 2 numbers in order to get the reservation changed to a slightly later time, after messing with it for 45 minutes sitting in the parking lot. My recommendation is to produce VALID ERROR DIALOGUE if there's something unexpected when trying to pick up. COMMUNICATE to the user, instead of sending them back to re-try their attempt with no knowledge of the error or problem. My equipment was also not maintained well. The turn signal in the rear was burned out, causing me issues driving. The TPMS sensor was in an error state, leaving me unaware of any low tire pressure warnings. Not a great state to leave a vehicle.Ryan B.

Jarod and employees were extremely unprofessional and rude. I felt very disrespected by everyone I had the displeasure of interacting with at this location. They charged me two times the amount for my extra day which I paid for in full at the pick up location. I spent all day trying to get ahold of Jarod, only for him to call me back, speak very demeaning to me and have him hang up the line. Drove 1400 miles in your product with a door that didn't close fully. My ears are still ringing from the loudness 4 days later. Fault tire popped on the freeway 4 hours in and made our trip a day and $300 more expensive. Will never use again.Floyd K.

The location is in a rough area, but the people working were so polite, and went above and beyond to help out. The folks were amazing at the drop off location. They didn't have to let me use the air compressor to air my tires up, but they did. Qui, the sales representative that I worked witb isn't cut out to be in the front with customers. If the job bothers her so much she needs to quit. I understand good workers are hard to find but, pleasant and smiling faces are too. The things I go through at home I leave at home and the things I go through at work I leave at work. I try to treat ppl as I would want them to treat me but, I see that isn't the case for Qui. I hope she feels better or whatever has her feeling awful gets better. During my drop off I pulled up to the equipment return where it says to stop and wait for someone to come help you. No one came. I went inside to ask for help and walked in to two ladies eating lunch at the front desk talking to each other, no one said a word to me while I stood there. I walked up and asked for help and she told me to bring it around the back. As I'm driving around the back I got blocked in for 10 minutes from a tow truck towing a broken down Uhaul who wouldn't let me pass so I had to wait until they were finished with that just so I could drive through. I drive through and no one is outside. I go back around to the front and the sliding doors are locked, both ladies still sitting there, eating, talking and I'm waving at them but they don't let me in. I go to call the number to the desk even though I KNOW THEY COULD SEE ME, and the doors open. I told her I moved it around back. A few minutes later she showed up out back and told me to back it in which I can't do, she said no one is here to back it in for you. At this point I'm FED UP with Uhaul. She screamed across the lot asking someone from further away if they could help, no one answered so she went inside. I asked a random guy walking through the parking lot if he could help me, he did. He was THE ONLY PERSON in this entire ordeal who was helpful and respectful. I wish I knew his name because everyone else I came into contact with at both Uhaul locations and even every single person on the phone when I was trying to change my drop off location was RUDE, lazy and EXTREMELY unprofessional. I would never recommend either of these locations or Uhaul in general to anyone.Shelby W.

Originally, the first 15' truck that was given to me was given with 2 miles until empty. I do not understand how this would be something this company would even consider. I went back inside to get a different Uhaul and the representative told me that I must not understand how trucks work (since there was a gas station 1 mile away) and that I should be lucky that they even had one to replace it with. I felt this location was very unprofessional and treated me with disrespect. I have never been given a Uhaul with less than 1/2 tank of gas or been treated so poorly.Shaila R.

The equipment was great. It appeared to be new. The customer service was better than 5 stars. I was greeted very pleasantly by the sales associate. She selected the correct trailer ball size for me. I ordered the vehicle online and it was easy! I picked up the vehicle but the gas had only 41 miles! I thought it would be more but, no worries. The staff was pleasant! Pick up and return no issues! I picked up the uhaul for 5 hours and dropped it off a half hour early. The next day I get a charge on my card for an additional $35. I went 1.5 miles over the 40 miles and I got charged $35 when I told it was $1 per mile. Then they call me my husband saying we never brought it back even though I put the key in a uhaul employees hand. So you charge me so much extra money for a uhaul you say you never seen then the lady said she needs to look for it meaning she never looked just assumed and started calling me and my emergency contacts for no reason. She also never contacted me about the extra money I was charged!!Dawn K.

I had to cancel my storage unit because I physically couldn't climb those stairs. There need to be an elevator in this facility which would make it easier to move in and out. I called UHaul main number explained my situation she sent email to the manager about a ground level unit. No response or call from manager even after I emailed him about a ground level unit. The staff who I first got the uhaul storage unit was AMAZING! The check out staff particularly the Caucasian man was rude, not helpful and combative instead of assisting when the gates and doors wouldn't open with my key! During peak hours, the waiting time for assistance can be extraordinarily long, and all team members may not be trained or empowered to handle all transactions. This was actually my 2nd trip.
