When we connected the trailer lights to my truck, they didn't work. We were able to verify the connections on my truck had power. They said because my truck is older, it probably wasn't producing enough voltage to run the LED lights. I purchased a set of magnetic lights from the U-Haul store, which worked fine. A bit annoying that they have equipment to rent that might not work with all customers vehiclesPaul T.

The whole experience was awful. I could not get ahold of the local Uhaul company. I kept being put on hold. Hours on hold and still nothing. I then called the 1-800 number and instead of setting an appointment for me to get my u box delivered, she scheduled me an empty one. I didn't find that out until later that day. Back to trying to get someone to was impossible. I called the 587 number on the confirmation email and they literally had no idea what was happening even with my master ID. She said she would get the local Uhaul to call me but they never did. The delivery driver(which Uhaul scheduled) shows up to get my box the next day and it is not ready. Waste of everyone's time. Then I finally do get my box and all my furniture is dyed blue because of your ridiculous blankets. I will absolutely never use Uhaul again.Trevor F.
Have people actually do their job instead of sitting around smoking while one guy does everything. Parking space for returning vehicles was full to the point of not being able to even exit the parking lot at one point. Just a gong-show filled with people who dont give a shit. The truck given to us was missing some converter (apparently stolen) so it sounded like 50 motorcycles when you started it and accelerated the gas. SO loud and so slow, would t shift gears properly. I didn't want to stop for gas cause I honestly thought it was going to stall out on me. The attendants were helpful when we dropped it off though, very polite.Megan S.
When we asked if could be returned to any location was told Yes by customer booking personnel and at pick up location, so went to drop off in Edmonton at closest location to us and according to Google and was informed that they do not take drop offs, this drop off should of only taken 20 mins or so, But had to drive across the city and took just under 2 hours, our contract info not in their system had to call customer service, very stressful drop off, we should of been informed when I asked which location is best to drop off.donna K.

They said it was going to be 230$. But after it turned out to be $330. This was not because of a longer rental. It is frustrating to be given a specific price to then be charged something higher at checkout.richard W.
Only two Uhaul employees at the front. The lineup for people with reservations stretched out the door and around the corner of the building. Knowing in advance that there were so many reservations, more staff should have been on hand. The wait time was well over an hour, I think it was about an hour and a half waiting in line.Tyler K.

This Uhaul place was the worst uhaul i have ever been too, the truck wasn't dirty and they charged me $25 to clean and over charge me on my mileage. If my phone wasn't dead i could have taken picture top prove, but anyways. Customer service took almost 1hr in small line up. When i return it only (only had it 3hrs) they forgot to explain when i took earlier that you need to drop it off on the other side of building so i was waiting in a line up for 1/2 hr that i didn't have top do. It was so stressed out when i left that place and wreck my whole day.Rick H.

The line was ridiculous, no guided way for people to go, people were everywhere and half of us were made to stand in the full sun. Staff did not direct the customers to move up or over or anything. Very slow service for something you do online and have a reservation for. When it came to drop off the keys, after going online.. it showed a picture of the drop off box which was Supposably by the main entrance. There are 2 main entrances and despite walking around and around and around the building there was no Orange Box or Box by any entrance. I ended up calling the 1 800 number past midnight because I was very frustrated and I wanted to go home after a long day of moving. I asked if I could leave the key in the vehicle and the lady told me I would be charged. and there is no such thing as spare keas spare keys which doesn't make any sense to me at all. We eventually found the key drop off Box which was on a door that said employee's only and it was literally just a slot that you poke it in no sign no nothing very frustrating. This was the worst experience with you hall I've ever had. The vehicle was clean ran very well I was happy about that. But I do believe on busy days there should be more than 2 people especially when there's at least 2530 people in line. I do believe there should be a clear drop off Box. That there should be some shade outside or a covering to protect the customers from the weather. GraciasAshley Q.

I just want to leave a comment about John Bellamy. He dealt with me at the start of the rental and was very helpful. It was at the end of the rental he totally went above and beyond. He was leaving work but still took the time, his own time, to help me out when I had a bit of an issue. Not everyone would do that, but John did without hesitation. are you kidding??? i waited well over an HOUR in a line up of 3 people to check out my equipment.. even tho i had done all of the pre work on line that was requested.. credit card.. drivers license.. all of that was checked and rechecked.. took 15 min after i got to a representative?? this is your 'fast track'.. are you working off the 'Air Canada' model???.. i also noted as i stood there for an hour while they 'served' 2 people... that a line up formed behind me of 10...15.. 20 ppl)... you have the SLOWEST intake system of any rental business going.. i'm IN the rental business... 2 people working (sort of) on 2 screens with about 40 pages to flip thru to get a rental done... on a weekend at the end of the month ... with a shop that has THAT much equipment... what are you thinking??? when i dropped my trailer back off... the line up was OUT THE DOOR.. a 2 to 3 hour wait!! how is that something you want as your. Your grounds people were very friendly and obviously just as frustrated with how your system works... i'd rather buy a trailer than rent one from this place again...Brian R.

Hire more staff to service busy days or pay them more to care. Was waiting in line to pick up a damn trailer for 45 minutes. Then told we needed to go back inside to buy a damn adapter after being given the pitch for insurance/covers/storage/movers/ supplies sales. Out of all the shit, the one damn item we needed was not communicated to us during â€œpick upâ€ that we needed to buy, or mentioned that was needed to have when renting a trailer. Maybe actually pay a good website designer to predict when someone wants a trailer then to suggest a god damn adapter rather than movers. Pain in the ass place to rent from. The website looks like it was made by a boomer that gets American priced medication paid for, for each page that is shoved in your face, winning the jackpot if your drown yourself before you even checkout, I'd rather down myself in water than go through that trauma again. Your website is a shit show of a desperation to sell. It turned me off from even using it. Also, if you're servicing Canadians, switch your stupid computer system to tell people mileage in Km, not miles. Know your market before a Canadian company does what you do better and puts this stupid place into the hole.Daniel R.

One of the worst services out there that shouldn't be allowed to exist. I was told I had moved out when all my belongings were still at the unit. I was out of town at the moment. When I found out I had supposedly checked out I called the office but nobody picked up the phone for 6 straight calls. Then I made the trip down there and went to see it in person, there they told me my locker was empty and I had checked out. They couldn't find my info in the system. They didn't seem very smart or sure about anything in life, so I walked up to the locker myself and had a look inside and everything was still there intact.Hassan T. | Overall Experience

I am extremely unhappy with service and way you guys charge. I drove 20 miles and I filled $12 gas and they still charged me another $9.50 for the gas. That means your truck milage is just 1 mile per litre. Extremely expensive never going to recommend anybody.Navjot S.

Spent 90 min to rent a space ,after was rented i go back and forward several, times and the distance was considerable, because the access code was not working ,when finally was working the storage room had someone lock on , I was told (in very bad way ) to wait until The lady will be available to come with me and fix the problem . I lost half of my belongs while transferring to a smaller unit. Upon asking one of the attendants to hold my stuff until the next day so I could get more helpers, to my shock and disappointment found that instead of helping me my stuff had been taken to an auction. Excessively long waits for staff assistance, there were always large uhaul trucks parked in the way of the “drive up storage locker” and would have to go inside and request them to move the truck, and there was mouse poop all over the floor of the unit with no barriers to prevent mice from getting in. I had made online reservations, and for some reason the associate could not find them. I had to go through the whole initiation again with her. I also signed up online for the free lock promotion, but they didn't have any in stock so I had to purchase a lock. The hold ups and disorganization is a typical experience at this location. When my friends had rented an indoor unit a few months back, we had about an hour of wasted time trying to deal with the swipe card not working for the facility, having to return in and out of the store to get help from an associate as nobody was willing to come outside to help deal with the problem, and the alarms going off constantly. Everthing was good except when the uhaul people in Calgary confirmed our 10 by 15 storage unit for us for 215 then when we got to Edmonton and they said we had no reservation for a storage unit so we had to take a 10 by 18. But it was 240. So we said okay we had no choice cause there wasn't any 10 by 15 left.
