Staff demanded too much personal information, including saying it is Uhaul policy to require telephone numbers of a reference person and to speak with them prior to allowing rentals! I rent $80,000 cars on the basis of my credit card and driver;s license number - no interrogation by staff.... ever! To add insult to injury, staff at this location then let an unauthorized person access the Uhaul computer with her password while I was standing there asking why Uhaul needed so much of my personal information! Keeping images of my drivers license on file, asking to speak with references on the phone before permitting rentals and then allowing unauthorized persons access the database is outrageous and probably illegal.Gavin J.

The outlet did not have enough staff to manage the number of customers. The service person was very nice and helpful but there were too many people for one person to manage in a reasonable time. Waited for 45 minutes.Craig G.
I waited in line for 1 and a 1/2 hours for an apparent â€œstreamlinedâ€ process that should have had me â€˜Skip the line' and it DID NOT. Why have the option if you cannot?? On top of that. The customer service agent had no idea where my truck was when I asked. I spent an additional 20 min tracking my truck down. When I started to drive my truck - I used up a little over an hour of the time allotted for my rental. That's inconvenient. Upon completion and return of my truck. I used the Truck Share app return and they told me that they â€œâ€¦ wouldn't take the key because I didn't return the truck properlyâ€. I think U-Haul needs to have ALL of their employees on the â€˜same page' - it would make things easier.Richard K.

The van was dirty, food was left in it, the back was full at some sort of debris. The lady at the counter was rude and made it seem like I was being an inconvenience just by being there. Our reservation was promised to be completed within the same day as drop off. They delayed the installation by 2 days and had to call my husband back to the location to reverse it onto the lift as no one working knew how to drive a manual transmission. Additionally, the ordered the wrong parts and forgot to give us the hitch ball. We ended up having to go back and forth 6 times. It was super stressful and delayed our trip. Would never ever recommend UHAUL to anyone.Karli P.

Rental unit was located at an entrance, which made connecting to the trailer difficult, I ended up blocking traffic. Upon returning the unit, I arrived 5 minutes past closing time, self drop location was blocked by another unit, as employees were closing up, I patiently waited for it to be moved so I could disconnect, after approximately 5 minutes an employee approached and said ( with attitude) â€œ technically we are closed, I should make you do the self return.â€ I rRob D.

I had a 5:30 am 24/7 reservation at South edmonton. When it wouldn't work I pulled up my reservation and it was moved to north Edmonton. Took an Uber there, got there just after 6:10 and lo and behold it still wouldn't work, had to wait there till 7. U-haul does not value anyone else's time and let's be honest, moving a reservation across town is so blatantly a scam to get customers to spend more on kilometers. Absolutely brutal!Ian S.
I booked a 6x12' enclosed trailer, and selected 'contact by email' for the confirmation option. I received an email showing a picture of this trailer. However, some U-Haul representative changes my booking to a 5x8' utility trailer - wholly inadequate for what I needed. I only found this out when I went to pick up my trailer. They claimed they had talked to me on the phone to confirm this change, but this was completely untrue. I also never received any emails detailing a change in my reservation.Milton F.
The outside operations were fantastic, bery helpful and polite. The inside was an accident waiting to happen. I went to use the washroom and the path was littered with blankets, garbage, boxes and paper. When I got to the bathroom door I couldn't even push the door fully open for what I assume was junk behind it and I could see more litter on the floor through the partly open door. I didn't use the washroom and told them it was disgusting and a hazard. I had booked online only to find that the location that I booked a truck and trailer, that the trailer was not available, then I was sent to another location in the city for a trailer that was not wide enough after being very specific with the measurements I needed.That is where the outside workers were helpful in measuring and finding the right trailer for me. There was only 1 person working inside and the wait time was 1/2 hour and 2 people ahead. The only reason that I would be forced to recommend this location is because of the large inventory of units and the outside staff, certainly not because of the inside staff or conditions.Teri M.

The trailer was terrible to pull, which we can only assume is related to maintenance of the axle and bearings. The associate that attached the trailer to our hitch struggled just moving it on level ground, which should have been an indication that something was wrong.Lloyd K.

On 3 different occasions in 3 different years, there have been problems with the computer system causing long waiting periods. The location on 50th Street in Edmonton desperately needs more staff inside as I have been there at different times at people have stood almost 5-10 deep waiting as there were only 2 available, one doing only truck pickups. I was late with a payment and phoned beforehand to make a payment arrangment.My unit for storage was 135$ a month. I was charged 50 lien fee a 50 pre lien fee and 2 /10$ late charges and a 15 dollar late charge. 135 in late fees. Absolutely ridiculous. I used to use Uhaul quite often. I will never frequent this buisness again. I have found a unit with another company that is 3x the size for the same price. I set up my unit in person while I was renting the trailer I was using to move. The front desk attendant took my credit card, and I asked if the payments would be automatic. She assured me that they would. My first month's hadn't come out and when I called I was told was told the first month was overdue because there was no automatic credit card on file. I asked them to make a payment and set me up for automatic payment. My second month was also late and when I called, the attendant told me that it was because no one activated it on the account. Since then, I have paid for a facility where food and items were left in the hallway, and the alarm seemed to always be going off when I got there. When I asked if I set the alarm off, the attendant said that no, I hadn't, and that it just goes off every time something happens. Which appears to be 6 times an hour during busy time. There also were times when a cart wasn't available for my building. I know it's a courtesy, but it still would have been nice to have one.Camron B. | Overall Experience

I came in to check into my unit about 25 mins before closing. I was trying to get there earlier but this move has been very challenging. Robyn helped me and was amazing. She helped me make sure I had the right unit that worked for me and easily able to move in. She even directed me to McDonald's while I waited for my brother to show with the truck because I hadn't eaten all day. When I went to eat I saw a reflection of myself in a window and I was an aweful disheveled mess. Yet when I was checking into unit Robyn still treated me great. Latch on door was bent and very hard to open and close. Staff were aware but never fixed it. Only issue with staff was when I moved out I was driving a large truck and when I went in to close account I didn't realize I had parked in front of disabled parking. The staff member who addressed it was very inappropriate. Instead of simply asking for the vehicle to be moved he went on a long winded explanation of why, yelling it across a very busy store. I made a reservation at the facility in 154th street, on arriving there, I was redirected to 50th street without letting me know the prices are not the same. I arrived at the facility (50th street Edmonton) the first sets of staffs were helpful, after storing my items, I went and gave the keys to the front desk, she insisted i return it under the blue canopy, of which i did and went back inside. I gave her the keys but she refused to collect it , she said I didnt park the truck under the blue canopy, that I parked outside the facility, I explained that was another dark skinned guy that she should collect the keys and verify , she insisted and told me she would loose it if she found out I was lying, she eventually checked and saw my Truck parked under the blue canopy but she didn’t acknowledged her mistake or apologized for threatening and calling a customer a liar. When it takes 48 to 72 hours for staff to answer the phone lines in this facility, that is completely unacceptable. I've also been in line and watched how the staff answer the calls. "Hello uhaul 50st hold please?" They don't even allow the caller to indicate they've been on hold already for hours. This always bothered me about your facility.bob B. | Overall Experience
